Lovely property tucked in quiet location not far from town centre. Nicely finished holiday house and ready to host family of 4-5 providing ample of parking space plus nice 6am bird song wake-up call ;-) Didn't have enough time to enjoy sauna or hottub - all nicely lit-up in the evening.

First class accommodation The cleanest house I've ever stayed in. Very tastefully and sympathetically designed interior, without being ostentatious. The lounge for residents is truly beautiful, with lovely little touches like whisky decanters for guests to have a night cap. Very calm atmosphere. The hosts, Gary and Nigel were warm, welcoming, very approachable and professional. The bedroom we had was so tastefully decorated in a calm, relaxing palette. Attention to detail was exceptional. The softest towels imaginable and even a special cloth for removing makeup- what a great idea! A coffee machine, tea, chocolates and Tunnocks tea cakes. The toiletries again from Scotland- Arran Aromatics- beautiful! The breakfast - where do I start. We did not expect food of restaurant standard, nor such an amazing choice. Besides the usual full Scottish and continental options, there were some amazing alternatives on the menu, all cooked to order. I chose the cinnamon french bread with banana, heather honey and clotted cream- presentation and taste- exquisite!!. I have to say, Ivy Bank Lodge blew us away - genuinely 5 stars in every way.

Amazing decore, immaculately clean, lots of lovely touches abd treats in room. Great parking. Welcoming hosts. Breakfast- Massive choice which looked amazing but I settled for fruit juice coffee and granola with berries which was delicious and beautifully presented. Licensed bar - & very lovely lounge to use. Would definately go back.

One of the most beautifully presented bed & breakfasts in Scotland. Warm, welcoming and friendly hosts, fabulous facilities and the breakfast is to die for. We absolutely loved our two nights at Ivybank Lodge - our room was beautifully clean and well-equipped. Lots of space in the bathroom and a comfy bed. The coffee machine in the room came in useful as did the absolutely delicious chocolates from the Highland Chocolatier - what a lovely touch. Attention to detail has been carefully curated at every level at this B’n’B, and we shall certainly be back!

Beautiful and exceptionally well presented guest house with high end furnishings and decor. Great attention to detail with quirky finishing touches which we loved and the place smelt lovely on entering the hall and reception rooms. Room was spacious with a big, comfortable bed and the shower room was huge with luxury toiletries. The breakfast menu surpassed our expectations with lots of options and luxury choices . Owners were very friendly and knowing I was a cat lover, introduced us to their 2 beautiful cats which was the icing on the cake!

A feeling of comfort greeted us when we arrived at this well-decorated and maintained bed and breakfast. Centrally-located, it was within easy walking of distance of downtown, local restaurants and the trail along River Ericht. Clean and comfortable, our room provided a great sleep. And, breakfast was a delight, especially the salmon! Added bonus: we got to enjoy time with Gary and Nigel's two very attractive cats!!

location is very peaceful and has great views across the valley, welcoming staff and owner, no names sorry as no name badges. Visited during a busy local weekend with the Glamis Castle transport extravaganza on across this weekend. It was surprising but welcome to hear so many local (NE Scotland) accents in a country house hotel which we one would normally hear a much broader mix. Dinner was taken from a concise menu (good idea rather than offer too many options) and was well cooked and presented, the dining staff attentive but not overbearing. Comfy room with tea/coffee facilities, TV and ample storage, good bathroom with large shower and bath. Hotel was busy but the use of several dining rooms meant dinner could be "cosy" in what felt a bit like private dining a nice touch. Breakfast was to order hot well presented and hearty. Large fireplace and lounge is most welcoming and had plenty space for all of the guests to relax

We booked the hotel for my Mum's birthday having been a few times before and we all had an amazing stay. Food and drinks at dinner were fantastic, great selection wine, whisky and gin and all the food was delicious. The staff are amazing and make you feel at home. The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and cosy. The hotel is beautiful, the sitting area with fireplace is very cosy and the bar and dining rooms are beautifully decorated. This is one of our favourite hotels and we will definitely be back, can't recommend it enough!!

We were booked in for a two night stay and on arrival the grounds and hotel looked beautifully kept and we were greeted with friendly professional helpful staff. The hotel is a little quirky with a very relaxing atmosphere, and we loved everything from start to finish. Our room was in the coach house and was superbly comfortable with ground floor access to the garden and a short walk to the hotel. Breakfast and evening meals were absolutely delicious. This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in and they went above and beyond to make us and our dog feel so welcome. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

This place is more than accommodation, it is a destination in itself where you feel as if you've gone back in time. The most exceptional thing was the atmosphere. The hotel was exuberantly Victorian, yet not run-down - it was well-maintained, both rooms and gardens. Service was smooth, and it was lovely to see how popular the place was locally - it seemed to be the restaurant and hotel where people in the area went to celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant was also good, as was breakfast, which is served off a menu rather than a buffet. If you have afternoon tea (and you should) don't plan on dinner later on.

Beautiful hotel, amazing surroundings, helpful staff - we were travelling with our 15 month baby and they were great in heating his food and adapting the breakfast for him. BTW: amazing and fancy breakfast,simply loved that! Our room although wasn't in the main building was incredible spacious and comfortable.

Room 5 has a Jacuzzi bath; LOADS of piping hot water; generous quality soaps/shampoos; fluffy towels; comfy bed; elegant property throughout; beautiful breakfast with one of the nicest sausages I have ever tasted and the garden is a pure delight. Karen and Graham are excellent hosts and take great care of their guests. 10/10

What an amazing place! We only stayed for a single night sadly however Graham and Karen went out of their way to look after us and could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Their guest house is beautifully decorated with original features in abundance mixed with contemporary touches - warm, comfortable and intimate. Our room was huge and had an incredible four-poster bed and bathroom with large jacuzzi bath. Everything was spotlessly clean and in perfect order, obviously fastidiously looked after. We dined there in the evening too and had the most fantastic meal; we're no strangers to good food and what we were served we'd have been delighted to receive in a high-end restaurant - thank you Karen! Breakfast was similarly delicious with a great choice of dishes, with those we chose cooked to perfection. Graham went over and above in showing us around the property and explaining the history of it, then preparing a detailed suggestion of a route around the countryside to see some of the best sights, even printing out a map and illustrating it for us. We truly felt like important guests and they were theoat impeccable hosts. Thanks again, and we will be definitely be back!

The house is beautiful, one of the best I've ever been in. Every detail is taken care of with unbelievable attention. As soon as you'll see it, you'll fall in live with it. Tigh Na Leigh is located in the pretty and peaceful Alyth, which is lovely to explore and a great starting point for visiting both the Highlands and Dundee. I asked Karen to book a restaurant for me on the night of my arrival and she's been so kind to get me a table at the superbe Land of the Loyal Hotel, which is pleasantly reachable through a 10 minutes walk across Alyth. A perfect night to start! What can I say about the kindess of Karen and Graham? They are wonderful people, so very thoughtful towards their guests and good at managing the House. You can live freely the beautiful common rooms they have and the amazing garden (with beautiful chickens in it!) and have an amazing breakfast with quality products coming either from their garden or the local community. They also serve dinner on certain days, the menu varying in every occasion. I'd suggest to try that as well. Also, ask Graham advices for exploring the sorroundings or just for better planning your itinerary: he's a real expert of the territory and has made me a presonalised itinerary that only an attentive local could have known, giving me the opportunity to see beautiful places. What else to say? You must try this beautiful and relaxing experience!

Everything….such a beautiful house that has been tastefully designed by Karen (owner) with a lovely, warm and relaxing atmosphere. Every room has a unique look with colourful furnishings and quirky artworks. Super clean with everything you need in the room. Comfortable bed and quality linen, lovely bathroom with good pressure and water temperature in shower. Cooked breakfast was delicious and the best of produce used. Karen’s home made jams, compote and granola tasted amazing. Graham was great and told us everything we needed to know when we arrived, he couldn’t have been more helpful. Offered to drive us to our evening meal booking, provided torch for our walk back and provided a fleece for hubby who had gone to breakfast in a T-shirt :) I can honestly say it’s the best B and B we have stayed in.

We recently spent two nights at Tayburn House in Dunkeld, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. From the warm welcome to the peaceful surroundings, everything about our stay was exceptional. The location is ideal – just a short walk from the charming town of Dunkeld, yet tucked away enough to offer a truly relaxing retreat. The house itself is beautifully maintained, blending traditional charm with modern comforts. Our room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with a super comfortable bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The attention to detail was evident in everything, from the high-quality linens to the little touches that made us feel right at home. Breakfast was a highlight! Each morning, we were treated to a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast with a great selection to choose from. Whether you prefer a hearty Scottish breakfast or something lighter, everything was prepared to perfection. A special mention must go to the gentleman working there—he was absolutely wonderful! So kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. He made sure we had everything we needed, gave great recommendations for places to visit, and truly made us feel at home. His hospitality was outstanding and made our experience even more memorable. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with fantastic hospitality, Tayburn House is an absolute must. We can’t wait to return!

Easy to find thanks to the directions provided and an ideal base for my two days in Dunkeld and Pitlochry I walked to Dunkeld and takes 5-10 minutes at a leisurely pace across the sweet bridge Comfy spotless spacious rooms with tea and coffee, bathroom with lovely towels , soap and body wash. A hairdrier too and TV to catch up with the Olympics Delicious plentiful breakfast even offering gluten free toast which was a nice touch being coeliac I had fresh fruit and yogurt, juices, coffee and a veggie cooked breakfast plus toast and jam! Yummy Delightful hosts and I was able to leave my luggage safely until pick up later in the day Thank you for a super stay

I really enjoyed my stay, my room was cosy and clean and Denise and Trevor were exceptional hosts and were very accommodating even though I had particular requests as a vegan and feeling cold and not use to the Scottish weather ha! They were friendly warm and hospitable and ensured my stay was very comfortable, a lovely location close to the river and high street and was quiet. Delicious breakfast too. Very good value for money. Thank you so much I would highly recommend staying here.

Dunkeld is an attractive little town, ideal for a short stay on the way to or from the far north of Scotland or a good base to explore Perthshire. Tayburn House is in a cul de sac, very quiet and in the rooms at the back of the bungalow you can open the window and hear the local burn gurgling down a steep channel beyond the garden hedge. The rooms are spacious and we found the beds comfortable on both visits. The place has a homely feeling and the hosts are very welcoming. The breakfast is excellent, with plenty of options of cereals, cooked breakfast and lots of fruits etc. From the house a short walk back to the road and around the side of a nearby hotel gives a footpath down to the river and the famous Birnam oak, a magnificent tree. You can walk the riverside in either direction, but left, past the Oak, takes you to the river bridge, where steps take you up and across into the historic town centre and various places for evening meals, drinks etc. If you are very lucky, otter or beaver sightings are possible in the evening or early morning. From Tayburn House it's only a short drive to the Hermitage for a scenic river walk with big trees and a waterfall. It's also not far to The Loch of the Lowes Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve, a good place to see red squirrels, lots of woodland birds and waterbirds and in spring/summer the ospreys which nest there.

Cozy and welcoming b&b, in a very good position super close to the station and to Dunkeld's shops and restaurants. Trevor (the owner) was very warm, kind and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and homey, breakfast was varied and very tasty. Lovely choice if you want to explore the river side paths. Hopefully we will go back again!

Beautiful quiet location, with a view to die for from both the restaurant and our room! We had our evening meal in the Cairns bar area and it was lovely. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was buffet style. We had an excellent choice of delicious food, but unfortunately the cooked breakfast wasn't hot, which was disappointing. Upon reading the menu, we noted that a hot breakfast could be ordered from the waiter, but not from our waiter who directed us to the buffet!

The staff were amazing. The rooms were lovely. We had a pet friendly room in the outer building and plenty of space. The amenities in the room were great including lovely toiletries and teas/coffees/caramel wafers. Even on the day I was unwell and shut myself up in the room with the do not disturb sign up, the housekeeping staff delivered a bag with extra consumables (loo roll, tea bags, etc) for me to find when I opened the door later in the day, which I thought was really lovely. The food in the restaurant was also very tasty for both breakfast and dinner. Location was quiet and peaceful. The fire in the bar was great to sit next to after a day being out and about and enjoy a quiet drink.

Open fire, comfy seats and couches, friendly and helpful staff. One of the bar restaurants was closed which was a shame, but ate in the bar and had dinner on the 2nd night in the 2 rosette restaurant, both excellent. Sri Lankan curry would feed 2. Had an estate room which overlooked the golf course, more than big enough. Great shower. Breakfast excellent too. A real find and would definitely go back.

Location is very beautiful and quiet. The house itself is impressive with a very nice classic lounge with bar and access to the golf bar and restaurant. Room is spacious and well presented. Good bathroom. Personnel very friendly and professional. Dinner very good and breakfast likewise. Nice restaurant. Parking very close to the entrance.

A lovely stay from start to finish. The room was spacious and comfortable looking over the 18th green. There isn’t air conditioning but there was a fan provided which helped keep the temperature down. The staff were excellent and I would like to praise Charlie who went and bought shower caps for me as I hadn’t packed ones, it was just so kind of her to do this. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful from reception to the bars and restaurants. The food in The Cairns was good and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Breakfast was nice, not a vast selection but everything was nicely cooked and options to order were available. Our visit was so enjoyable and will definitely be returning, hopefully fit in a round of golf next time.

I booked this hotel because it is one hour drive from Braemer highland game and it truly impressed me and exceeded my expectations in every way! The river view is stunning, and the garden is a tranquil oasis. Our English-style room is spacious, elegant, and well-equipped, with a super-comfortable bed. The breakfast is fantastic, served in a beautifully decorated dining room with river view. The staff are great, friendly and attentive. Given the quality and amenities, the price is very reasonable – great value for the experience. Perfect for a relaxing getaway or romantic escape. Highly recommended for its beautiful views, lovely garden, elegant accommodations, and delicious breakfast.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning and peaceful estate. All staff were so friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. We stayed in one of the sportsman’s rooms and it was perfect for us - very cosy, comfortable and clean. Our stay was as a gift for my husband as we were celebrating his 60th birthday and it couldn’t have been more special. Upon booking we were invited to book a table in the dining room which I did. The meal was exquisite - absolutely delicious. And we were very kindly presented with a complimentary glass of champagne and some beautiful hand made chocolates to mark our celebration. In the morning there was a wide selection of food options for breakfast from porridge and a full Scottish to a continental - just as delicious as the evening meal. I really cannot recommend this place enough for a quiet getaway. It’s just perfect!

We stayed here for 6 nights in a very comfortable Scottish country house with log fires in lounge and bar. Bedroom was small but had a double aspect overlooking the river and side of the garden. Tea and coffee facilities provided in room and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and various choice of cooked breakfast which was served by waiter. We had evening dinner twice during our stay which was a bit expensive at £65 per head but this was for 3 courses plus coffee/tea. All the food was superb. We would definitely stay here again- it was lovely to have old fashioned waiter service and all the staff were very friendly and helpful

Comfortable clean bedroom on the ground floor of the annex with views of the river and a door out to a small terrace. Fridge in the room which was a nice touch. Shower room was a decent size and the shower was powerful, towels were large and soft plus flannels also provided, toiletries were good quality. Dinner is set at £65 per head for 4 courses and the food was of a high quality. Plenty of choice for breakfast and regularly replenished. Staff were very polite, the main building and the surroundings are impressive and the public areas clean.

The location is superb, overlooking the river Tay. With beautiful gardens and mature trees scattered around. The staff are very good, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast excellent and the evening meal was really nice but a bit pricey for us. Our room was in the Riverside building, which is a short walk from the main hotel. We were on the first floor with a balcony and river view. It was amazing. The room was a little dated, but we had everything that we need and reasonably spacious.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bankfoot Inn. We had spent much of the day on the road, and were looking forward to a comfortable night in a quiet inn, and weree quite happy we chose the Bankfoot Inn. The staff was very welcoming and helpful on arrival, which happened to be during dinner time. Our room was spacious, bright and comfortable. The bed was comfortable enough, and the bathroom was large, well lit and spotless. Both the bedroom and shower room appeared to be recently renovated, as did the restaurant and bar. We had an excellent meal in the dining room, which had the feel of charming Scottish country pub. The food was excellent, reasonable, and served by a cheery staff. The breakfast was excellent; lots of selections, either continental breakfast selections or fully cooked breakfast. Our cooked breakfast was nicely prepared and arrived hot from the kitchen. The staff was especially welcoming and cheerful. One of the best breakfasts of our two week holiday in UK. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay at the Bankfoot Inn.

I very rarely write reviews of places I stay when away working but the Bankfoot Inn is worth making an exception for. This old coaching inn is bursting with character and very well run. Rooms are small, as you would expect from such an old building, but well heated and the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are spotless. Both breakfast and dinner were very tasty. The bar prices are very reasonable for a hotel and the lounge bar has a very welcoming feel to it, with a log fire and a very amiable owner pulling the pints.

A wonderful stay in a peaceful country inn and the staff were so welcoming . Nice decor, very clean and comfortable, and the shower was very hot with great pressure. The dinner and breakfast were both very tasty and satisfying.

Old pub in small town not far from Perth. The town itself doesn't have much to it - this is the only place for dinner. Rooms are upstairs. Our room was modern, newly renovated, nicely appointed. Very clean. Nowhere to put suitcases but there was hanging space. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant was the usual pub food but well cooked. Heated towel rail in the bathroom and good shower.

Welcoming host allowed me access slightly early. Beautiful room in an old inn, tastefully decorated, 15 mins by car from the station although I could travel to Bankfoot and back by bus from Mill Street in Perth. My room amply accommodated the large, comfortable bed with cotton sheets and was well-insulated, so the oil-filled radiator quickly heated it up. Bottled water provided each day. Double-glazed window overlooking the attractive, tiered garden at the rear. There was no wardrobe but coat-hooks on the door. Shared bathroom with lovely tiles, modern bath, toilet and sink. Shower worked! There was a separate toilet in the hall, equally well decorated, close to my room. The free WiFi was efficient. Given key to back door in case I came in late. Creaky floorboards not a problem as they added to the character of the Inn. Not in any way a rowdy pub. Sound insulation efficient. Exposed brick walls in the dining room, also tastefully decorated, quickly served, superb, well-cooked breakfast and on Friday I had quite possibly the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted - beautiful batter. The staff were highly efficient and welcoming.

The facilities in the hotel and the scenery was stunning next to the river Tayl nice to relax at the indoor pool with sauna steam room and jacuzzi Excellent breakfast in the morning.

Breakfast was fantastic, hotel was fantastic as well as pool area, Jacuzzi was off which was disappointing.

The food was excellent and catered very well for my Gluten Free requests. The leisure facilities were great with a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi etc. The staff were excellent at looking after us.

The Athol suite was amazing the views were amazing it was just perfect ticked all the boxes Breakfast was very good lots of choice Dinner on the first night we had some problems with our starters being over cooked this was resolved our second night there was again problems with the starters being late and over cooked again this was resolved we cancelled the rest of our dinner and ate from the bar menu in the bar the fish and chips were brilliant and the venison burger was amazing Big thank you to Archie who was very helpful

Everything was beautiful, such an idyllic setting. We stayed for my partners birthday celebration and the staff set up a welcome, happy birthday, brownie plate for our arrival which was a nice touch. We stayed in a double deluxe room which was cosy and comfortable. We loved the balcony with double doors out to small table and chairs. We switched to room service for our full Scottish breakfast which was delicious, especially the haggis- we only wished the breakfast had been slightly hotter but still enjoyed. We walked along the river in to the village which was a stunning and a very comfortable 20/25 minute walk. All staff were friendly and welcoming. We will absolutely be back in the future!
