SOOOO Clean! this place is a TRUE gem! With only 28 rooms, it feels cozy, personal, elegant, and all of the details are perfect. I could not find a single thing wrong with this lovely Place.The owners are welcoming, the staff is courteous and friendly, and the entire building smells AMAZING.Our King size bed was very, very comfortable. The room was SPOTLESS and spacious for high standards, and all of the details were perfect. Our breakfast was delicious

A beautiful building. Peaceful and safe for a solo woman traveller. Free parking. Breakfast options were plentiful and they catered for gluten free people too! Staff are friendly and professional. Rooms are very tidy and clean. Bed is comfortable.

This Hotel is beautifully kept, clean and quiet. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. There is not a bar or restaurant open yet but the option will be there soon and I am sure it will be a top class as the rest of the hotel. We stayed three days and loved every minute.

Minnie was so welcoming and helpful. The room was perfect for our travel planning day with good wifi, a comfortable bed and breakfast at the hotel was a nice bonus.

This is a good hotel within walking distance of the centre - about 15-20 mins. The room is a good size for 2 with a small kitchen area with a microwave and fridge so you can make coffee and a snack if you want to. The bed was large and comfortable. The air conditioning worked to cool and heat the room which was handy. It has a large bathroom with a shower with either a large drenching head or a shower on a flexible hose. One nice touch was the TV had Netflix which was logged on and useable to guests. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Located 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Northland Mall, 5 minutes from city centre. Our 1 bedroom unit had 2 queen beds, small kitchen, huge bathroom with jacuzzi. We stayed for two very comfortable nights.

Stayed a week in an upstairs 1 bedroom unit. Zheng & Yuting, the managers of this spotlessly clean motel were very helpful, friendly hosts, with a good knowledge of Christchurch. It was an easy walk into the city. The nearest shops, including restaurants a supermarket, and bus stop to " The Palms" a large shopping mall, was only a short block away. The warm unit was spacious,our bed was comfortable, the shower was great and despite being on a fairly busy road, the unit was very quiet.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our suite was lovely and spacious, clean and modern, and the lodge is in a great location with a FreshChoice supermarket just down the road and within walking distance of the city centre. Thank you so much! 😊

We stayed in the one bedroom unit, which was clean and comfortable. It had fast wifi, and great water pressure in the shower! The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Overall great place to stay!

We had booked a 2 bedroom exwcutive apartment for a family of 4. When asked Marco ( the property manager) whether there was any road noise, he suggested (and offered) that we stay in a 2 bedroom townhouse as it was very quiet and away from traffix noise. We accepted the townhouse as we didnt want any noise during the nighttime. Overall it was a comfortable stay. The townhouse is older than I expected and compared to the apartment that I originally booked. Beds were comfortable, but felt like some of the edge springs might have been broken as there was no support if layed on the edge, otherwise very comfortable and clean. Shower had a very low disappoiting pressure and was also leaking a bit, otherwise clean shower box. TVs need upgrading as they seem to be too old and very dim to enjoy anything. Curtains and drape need a refresh too. Also would suggest one additonal mirror somewhere other than bathroom. This could be a life saver when travelling with 3 girls.

We needed somewhere to stay before taking the train to Greymouth early in the morning. This was perfect. 10min from the railway station and easy walking distance to the Riccarton mall. * Room clean ,comfortable and warm * Very good internet- Able to complete all the work I needed to * Excellent shower -great pressure and plenty of hot water- 10/10 * Bed both comfortable and warm. * Bed has a electric blanket - was nice on a cold evening * Owner helpful with good accurate information * Nearby Riccarton has everything you could need for a stay in Christchurch. For a quick meal try the roast shop near the movie theatre- Lovely ,well cooked food. Vegetarian option amazing. * Reasonably priced motel and would stay again if back in Christchurch.

We had a wonderful stay and cannot say enough about Marco, our fantastic host! We stayed for 10 days. The location of the hotel is central with a brief walk to one of Christchurch’s largest malls, with a food court, Kmart and lots of other stores. There is close access to the City bus too, which we used daily! Our room was lovely. It was cleaned daily, dishes washed, beds made, fresh towels, coffee/tea/hot chocolate packets and cookies. There is a patio too! Continental breakfast is available upon request along with access to laundry. Marco was very attentive to any help we needed and truly understands the importance of excellent customer service that really makes a difference! We very much enjoyed our stay!

This motel is located about 200 m from Westfield shopping centre with ample parking . Our room had a queen size bed with a kitchenette and bathroom with spa bath . Superbly clean and well thought out with a small microwave , fridge , toaster and plenty of tea , coffee , hot chocolate and butter cookies . Utensils also included scissors and can opener. A pair of tongs also available . There was no stove . Wifi was very fast . TV shows included Netflix though the TV could be bigger . The bed was very comfortable and we had a great night sleep . There was also a heater both in the bathroom and the bedroom. Will definitely return .

Really enjoyed our stay here, would stay again! The location was perfect, the Riccarton mall just a small walk away and Riccarton shops really close. Room was clean, every service was spotless. There was no Heatpump which is just a personal preference (not a big deal) but the room had great air flow and the heaters were perfectly fine. Quiet area, good tv reception & great to have Netflix for when I was there. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!!

The bed was OK, with a small pantry with the usual stuff, and a wash room with a tub (jacuzzi didn't work, so it was just a tub).

We booked in advance and had very little idea of what this motel would be like, except that it was in a very convenient location.(about 20 minute walk into city centre).We loved it from the moment we arrived.David was so welcoming and helpful, and the motel itself was very attractive and quiet.We had arrived several hours ahead of check in time, but David willingly stored our luggage for us, and had already moved it to our room on our return.Our room was spacious and very clean and comfortable and the bed especially comfortable.Another bonus was the en suite bathroom, which had a spa bath.Would recommend Rosewood Court to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

Had a great experience at Rosewood Court Motel for 4 nights. The place was cleaned every day to a high standard and very warm. The shower pressure was amazing. A very comfy wee unit that also supplied a lot of cooking utensils and items which is unlike a lot of motels these days. The service was amazing, the host is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend to anyone and will be staying here again.

Motel was very well presented and owners were very helpful . We had booked 2 rooms . Motel was in easy walking distance to 3 eating places just down the road and about 15 minutes on foot to the square. Was very comfortable and with double glazing was quiet at night . Just one area which could be improved on . In both rooms the floor in the kitchen and bathrooms were sticky and appeared to not have been cleaned . Perhaps this is only done every know and then if this is the case . Then this needs to be address as they should be in my opinion moped after each quest leaves. In saying this every thing else was clean and very well presented and we would stay their again and would recommend to others. It could be that the floors had been missed in both rooms on this Occassion. I would say if your looking for resionably priced quiet and comfortable accomodation close to the CPD then this motel will fit the bill perfectly.

Booked a single night and then returned after our road trip for 2 more nights. David was very helpful - he even helped with our laundry. Unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. Furniture somewhat dated, but functional. Beds comfortable. Close to the city and to some very good restaurants. Fair rates. Easy to recommend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager has arranged an early check in and pick up from the airport. The reception staff was very helpful to book a taxi for airport transfer early in the following morning. The apartment is modern and super clean with good Wifi. Beautiful roses in the front yard, peaceful surroundings! The beds were great, comfy . The bathroom and kitchenette were well equipped and very clean. There were heaters and fans, the room temperature was right. The location is very close to Christchurch airport and Woolworths supermarket and a few fast food restaurants

Almost everything including free parking, clean room, comfortable jacuzzi.

Central to a good number of places to get good food (2025) by walking. Authentic Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants as well as an Irish bar plus 2 other Taverns. Found a Mexican restaurant that was like a subway, where you could make up your own Taco, Burrito etc. that was delicious! Down near the corner (towards Hagley Park) we found a 24 Night/Day store, like a corner diary with everything from pies and fried chicken to sweet cake slices and Thick shakes - an everything store. All of this, just a short walk in both directions. Also being located central in the city, it's a good place to stay to cover all bases for shopping. Hostess was very pleasant and helpful. Were given a decent amount of milk for the room. I was very happy about this. The room had a mini bar and basket, so if you don't want to go out there is the option to purchase in house beverages and snacks and the prices are reasonable (great if you want to stay in!). Had the Spa bath room and enjoyed a much needed long hot soak. I put all the hot water in! But after a 2 hour soak there was hot water again, no worries for a morning shower as well. (Or you could do it the other way around ;) )

Spacious comfortable rooms. We had plenty of space to open two big suitcases and there was also a small kitchen annexe with microwave, fridge, minibar, and the table with two chairs. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars around even though it's not the city centre strictly speaking. The rooms are super clean, modern, comfortable, so is the bathroom. The room was warm and there was enough space to park a car outside off the street - this was great compared to any hotels and lodges closer to the city centre which have limited parking. The walk to the centre takes approximately 30 mins, there are also buses outside. The proximity of the park is also a plus - you can have a nice walk along the river to the Botanic Gardens and the city centre.

Nicely refurbished room, with delightful Private balcony, 2nd floor, #12. Large spa bath, though sadly no time to enjoy it!! Excellent linen & towels; bed very very comfortable. Extremely clean, neat & tidy. Kitchenette, yea, coffee, minibar, but no cooking facilities. Eateries a plenty within walking distance. Great communication prior & during. Very helpful. Good location between city & airport. Quiet, set back from the road. Off street parking available, Highly recommend.

First impressions were that this motel was old style on a busy road but don't let that put you off. We had the two bedroom, one bathroom spa unit number 3. On entering we noticed that the heaters had been put on for us and that it felt very welcoming. Nothing in the unit was old and dingy. Bedrooms were spacious, beds comfortable, electric blankets, good sized bathroom with modern equipment. Liked the thought that went into the decor throughout the apartment, from choice of wall colour to decent furniture. The kitchenette was well equipped and supply of tea, coffee etc was not mingy. Reception was smiling and communication was excellent. There are a number of restaurants in close walking distance. Access and parking very good. easy access to the airport - 10 minutes by car. This is one of the best apartments of this type [city] I have stayed in.

The location was very good, close enough by car to the central city but also good shopping and cafes close by. The shower was excellent, the bed was comfortable and (in a 2 bedroom unit at the rear if the property) it was quiet. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location was perfect - close to Westfield Riccarton mall and other shops/cafes. Friendly, accomodating staff - nothing was a problem! Warm, clean & comfortable room - comfortable bed & good shower!

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very well presented, really clean, comfortable and warm (heat pump) and had everything I needed. The small kitchen was well equipped and there was a good selection of tea and hot drink options. The room was quiet and had a little, private outside seating area. There is off street parking. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. I was arriving late and he kindly left my key in a lockbox and texted me pick up instructions. He also turned on the lights and heating in my room (it was a cold night) prior to my arrival, so my room was lovely and warm when I arrived. I would stay here again.

We loved this motel! The unit was lovely - fresh, colourful, well-laid out and well-equipped. The beds were comfy and the spa bath was amazing! Everything was easy, from booking to departure. The owners were very kind and helpful, and looked after our bags so we could have brunch after checkout before heading to the airport. Most importantly, we were able to watch the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals live! Great coverage - thank you. We strongly recommend this motel.

This was our second stay at Tuscana Motor Lodge as we were completing our Christchurch to Christchurch loop. This time we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor, which was even nicer than the ground floor apartment we had previously, as the bed was larger and it came with a balcony where you could sit and enjoy the outlook. The apartment was very clean, spacious and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent with a very decent shower. We really enjoyed chilling out on the 2 sofas in the lounge room. We made use of the excellent laundry facilities which include an LG front loader (I prefer this to the usual commercial top loading washing machines at motels) and an LG dryer. Parking was great and the motel is well located, being a short walk to the CBD and close to cafes and restaurants. We managed to avoid using the car on the second last day when we explored Christchurch. The hosts were friendly and helpful as always. We enjoyed our stay here and it is one of our favourite motels in South Island and we stayed at 9 motels in all during our 15 day trip.

This unit was comfortable, quiet, clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable. The little kitchenette in the unit met our needs of being self-sufficient. Off street parking. Lots of shops, attractions and restaurants within walking distance. The host was so friendly and helpful. He made recommendations of which walking route to take to encompass all the local attractions we wanted to see.

Our apartment was very clean, quiet and spacious, with a comfortable bed. The kitchenette is well equipped and the lounge room has 2 decent sized sofas. Parking was excellent. The motel is conveniently located near cafes and restaurants, and is a short 15 min walk away from Christchurch CBD. The hosts were friendly, helpful and informative and we really appreciated the arrangements made for us to access our room at midnight after a late flight!

Friendly and helpful hosts. Clean, and serviced daily. Comfortable bed. Spacious: room for a couple of easy chairs plus a small dining table and two chairs. TV with 50 channels, including several SKY sports. Small kitchenette with sink, kettle, fridge microwave (glass dish to heat food), toaster and electric frying pan - ideal for simple meals. Walking distance to Christchurch centre and the botanic gardens. On-site parking. Laundry available -$2.50 per wash or dryer - washing line available. Supermarket and restaurants within walking distance. We got the #29 bus from the airport to a stop a short walk away on Victoria Street - only $2. The property is on a busy road, but it didn't disturb our sleep. Very good value.

Very clean and spacious, lovely bedding and comfy bed. Everything you need, table and chairs, seating area, good shower, tea selection, coffee, hot chocolate and plunger coffee, even biscuits! The heating was on when we got there. It was lovely and cozy to come into. Would totally recommend it and stay here again !.

Where a business owner really cared about making sure their customers received quality service and a quality product and really wanted only the best for their customers? Pretty old fashioned, eh? Sounds like a time long past . . . But that's exactly what we experienced at the Sherborne Motor Lodge. Rick and Ricki are amazing! The most attentive, helpful, friendly and caring accommodation owners we have experienced in years. And of course, the room was also spotless, comfortable, well appointed and excellent value. We stranded in New Zealand during the lockdown and had to face quote a few difficulties because of the situation. We arrive after midnight that night and had great cimmunications with the owners. We booked originally a different Motel (same owners) and were upgraded with no extra costs to this great Motel which is equipped with everything you need, clean and modern. During the 2 weeks we stayed there Ricky was amazing, totally on top of the pandemic, looking after us like a family and even got us onto some repatriation flights back home. They made our stay in such uncertain tims enjoyable and relaxed. The location is an easy walking distance to the city and we were able to walk in the not too far park and on the river. Unfortunately we couldn't travel so I am not sure but believe there are a lot of recreational points just a short drive away with the car. If you need to stay in Christchurch (it's also located only 20min from the airport) this Motel will welcome you with a warm heart.

The proprietor, Rick, greeted us on arrival with a very friendly and super helpful personality. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with a little balcony. Highly recommend.

The unit was amazing. Comfy bed and everything we needed for our two night stay, incl. coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold milk for the coffee. We arrived after reception hours and self check in was very easy. The owners of the hotel was so helpful with everything and even drove us to the place where we would pick up our campervan. will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Lovely clean, modern and spacious room with very comfy bed and well equipped. Staff were great to move our reservation at the last minute without penalty when flight was cancelled. Great location, 2min walk to fab coffee shop. Highly recommend!

My partner and I have never stayed in a hotel like this before, so we though we are on holiday let's book a night just for the experience. I cannot express in words how amazing every aspect of our stay was. We were greeted warmly with smiling faces, the check in process is quick and efficient. One of the team members showed us to out room (took our bags for us) and explained how all the lights and aircon worked. The room was beautiful, well laid out. Came with a shower with two seperate shower heads so no need to worry about temperature. A bath that all shapes and sizes would fit in and happily enjoy. Stunning views of the garden and a coffee machine. The attention to detail with the little things was something I really appreciated. Little shower bursts that dissolve in the shower, they smell amazing and help you relax ,little bath salts with lavender to enjoy and after dinner chocolate and water set beside the bed. The dinner service and food was to die for. My steak was a wee bit under what I normally like and I was half expecting just the steak back but no, my whole plate was redone it looked perfect, again no word just every aspect was spot on. We have felt so spoilt on our stay. We highly recommend any couple looking for a night or weekend escape to come here. You will be looked after from the moment you walk in, it makes you feel so special and relaxed. We will definitely be coming back and honestly we are counting the days. Thank you for an amazing stay

Great location right across from Hagley Park and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bar and lounge area. This was our second stay, and even though we were not in one the fantastic Residence rooms this time around, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Dinner at 50 Bistro was excellent. Highly recommend.

Staying in the Luxury Suite with Spa Bath at The George was a delight. The kitchenette was well stocked, the walk in wardrobe was perfect and the bathroom luxurious. Lots of suitcase storage space too. Spacious seating areas and views of the Avon River, with the ducks paddling along, added to the enjoyment of this suite. Even when it was raining, it was lovely to be in such a green and light filled space. The staff that impressed me most were Scot (facilities), Concierges Mark and Matthew, and, in the dining room - Quentin, Ben, Vivian and the lovely Taylor (who had just started working at The George) and her supervisor, also a helpful and personable addition to the team.

I had such a lovely stay at The George. The staff are exceptional - all so welcoming, friendly and helpful (reception, restaurant staff and cleaners). Even a small "hickup" at checkin was dealt with so professionally, and ended up being an entertaining aspect of our trip. The "menu" breakfast was lovely... and the macaron's were exceptional! My son hasn't stopped playing with the teddy bear given. A charming touch to our stay. We look forward to returning.

Abella Lodge was convenient as I was looking for accomodation in northern Christchurch. Public transport to the city is very convenient with bus stops only metres away. The welcome from the owner was most appreciated, and the small glass jar of fresh milk, rather than normal UHT milk, was a great idea. The room was a good size, with a separate bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed and a very good shower, which is over a spa bath. The bed and shower are the 2 items I rate a room by. The free WIFI was very good and the TV had a good choice of channels including Netflix. The owner did give instructions as to how you can access you own NetFlix account rather than the one provided. Be aware that some rooms are up external steps to the second level. The shower being over a spa bath could be difficult to access if you have mobility issues.

Clean, comfortable bed, great shower and well equipped kitchenette. Close to supermarket and restaurants. Large DVD selection available for a rainy night. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We've stayed here before because it is handy to my parents' the retirement village. Initially, I was concerned that it may be noisy from traffic on the Main North Road, but I need not have been worried at all. Road noise can barely be heard even at the busiest times. The units was very clean, modern and nicely appointed and suitably spacious for a couple typically travelling for just a few days, representing excellent value for money. The motel staff are friendly and helpful, and always concerned that you are comfortable and have everything you need. It can be a bit tricky pulling out into traffic because it is a busy road, and there's a traffic island that means if you wish to head north (turn right out of the driveway), you end up going around the block to achieve that end. But that's a small issue which really doesn't affect us that much because we're visiting family fairly close by, and not one the motel can do anything about. We'll stay here again next time we're in Christchurch to see family & friends

Clean room upon arrival. Location was convenient with supermarket across the road, easy to navigate and not get lost. Staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming, allowing me to store my luggage on site in the office, as I had arrived early before my check in time. Staff then went above and beyond and moved my luggage to my room upstairs, which I was very grateful for. Ample tea, coffee, hot chocolate sachets and milk. Fresh bath towels, soap, body wash, moisturiser and dishwash liquid. I will be staying again when I am staying in Christchurch, New Zealand. A++ service, 10/10

The owners of the motel were exceptional with very friendly service. They went above and beyond for us with something we needed help with. Couldn't fault them. The room was perfect for what we needed, somewhere clean and comfy to stay. We didn't need to use the cooker, but this was a nice touch in the room as most usually just have a microwave if you're lucky.

Great value for money and such a great place to stay with young kids. Perfect location, it was super quiet, clean and comfortable for the whole family. Host was lovely and very helpful. Spacious areas and a full laundry was very helpful.

Compact two-bedroom with everything we needed. Well organized and super clean. Beds are very comfy too. You can tell the owners have every attention to details. The location is very convenient within walking distance to Westfield for shopping and food. We enjoyed the spa tub too. It did come with kitchen facilities although we didn't get to use them Also, Marco is super friendly and helpful, even offered to help with my kids laundry. This was the first two we stayed at a motel. It absolutely surpassed our expectations. Two kids even commented in their view that this was by far the best stay out of our 2-week trip around the south island of New Zealand (We did stay at some expensive resorts and holiday homes along the way). Overall a very pleasant stay for 3 nights for the whole family. We will not hesitate to come back and stay there again. Highly recommended.

The room was excellent. It had good facilities in the room and it was an excellent bonus to have a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The distance is a good walk from the centre but is doable.

The proximity to the city center was great. The unit I stayed in was very clean, exceptionally warm with good, thick curtains in the bedroom and lounge area. The bed was soooo comfy, complete with an electric blanket, comfy pillows, and the lighting in the bedroom was great which meant I could read. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were great too- completely spotless and the provided coffee, tea and sugar was much appreciated. The provided towels were lovely and plush and it was fantastic that everything I needed was provided including a hair dryer, a luggage rack, towels, an extra blanket and soap and toiletries. I highly recommend staying here. It's clean and well run; I found it quiet enough to get a good night's sleep and thought it was great value for money!

The bed and bedding was so luxurious. I slept amazing. It was exceptionally clean. The bathroom had a very nice shower with heated towel racks, great shower head and excellent water pressure. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel itself was quaint and beautiful, it reminded us of a little boutique hotel. We loved it!

The owners are very helpful and friendly. The unit was quiet (despite the motel being on a main road) and well appointed. The kitchenette has everything we needed for a short stay and meant we could have breakfast in the room (could have done other meals too if we’d wanted). The location is excellent- about 10 minute walk to the Avon River and the centre of the city. Strawberry Fare and a number of other restaurants are within a few minutes walk. We had an excellent stay!

Amazing hosts, really helpful! The place was quiet, spacious, had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. We were travelling from the UK and the hosts let us check in early after our long trip, which was really amazing as we were exhausted.

Great location and enjoyed walking to Hagley Park, restaurants and downtown. Outstandingly clean. Small thoughtful additions to make stays comfortable- electric blankets, hand towel and paper towels and variety of utensils in kitchenette, 2 stools for breakfast bar height bench. Liked that the rubbish bin allowed both rubbish and recycling.

This hotel is in a great location, close to the city center, and very convenient for transportation. The rooms are clean and tidy, with complete facilities and comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and provide attentive service. Although there is no breakfast, there are plenty of dining options nearby. Overall, it offers great value for money, and I highly recommend staying here!

Lovely modern 2 room motel unit with a balcony. Well equipped with towels, flannels, cloth and tea towel. Nice kitchenette with an extractor fan so you don't have to worry about setting off the smoke alarm! 2 TVS with sky, wifi. Warm and comfortable place. convenient to the supermarket. Good parking.

Requested a quiet room and they responded prior to our stay to say they had received the request and would action it. There was a warm, friendly greeting at check in and we were shown to our room which is a nice touch to ensure everything is OK from the start. The room was clean, nicely furnished and the linen was clean and felt good. Everything we needed was there. It was a comfortable stay at a good price point

Location was central but quiet - easy to get into CBD. The hosts were very informative and helpful regarding sightseeing and history.

The room we booked actually was better equipped than we thought, it had two hot plates that allowed us to cook meals , as my wife is vegan and also can't eat spicy food this was great as Christchurch appears to have very few restaurants that can cater for her need. There are however quite a lot of good restaurants nearby if you aren't vegan. It's close to Quake city and Botanic gardens .This is a spacious room, efficient heater in shower room as well as one in the main room. The beds were really comfy, cooking facilities very good , two comfy armchairs, heavy drapes kept from warm and dark at night, stopping street light from spilling in, its also very quiet , so good place to sleep well at night. There's parking right outside the room.sky tv with 50 channels , so quite a lot to watch such as BBC earth. Very comfortable and well equipped room in great condition.

Three of us only stayed one night in a 2 room apartment. Great value. Everything really clean-extra towels and blankets provided. Fully stocked kitchen + coffee supplies.Comfortable seating + desk in living room. Easy 20 minute walk to town. Owners on site:pointed us to the eateries nearby and free luggage hold after check out until our flight time. We easily walked to dinner and breakfast places.We had no car but saw that there was free parking.The wifi slowed in the living room but ok in bedrooms ( distance from modem?). I would stay here again especially with a long stay.

Very clean, comfortable and quiet room to lay our heads down after a long flight. Just 15 minutes from the airport with convenient parking for the hire car. Super friendly and helpful staff pointed out local attractions, food and entertainment options.

Staff was amazing, really friendly and helpful in all situations. Room was really clean and spacious as well. This was our last stop of our honeymoon during New Zealand so we definitely enjoyed our stay near the city central :)

The property had ample onsite parking and I was able to park outside or near my room most days. The room was clean, comfortable bed and the kitchenette with stove top, microwave and fridge was perfect for preparing breakfast and other snacks. We were here as part of a wider sports group and they were very respectful at night and there wasn’t any noise. The heat pump in the rooms made it so cozy and such good water pressure in the shower. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were proactive in reaching out to us before our stay to help with our special requests. I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again or recommending to anyone looking for a safe clean comfortable property.

My boyfriend was discharged from hospital and had decided the drive back to Westport was too far to go in his state so we decided to stay. I wanted a motel close to a mall so I could walk as very nervous to drive so we booked into the Amore. When we arrived the lady at the reception was absolutely amazing. She upgraded our room to a two bedroom as we were here for 5 days and gave it to us at a brilliant rate. She was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. We needed a ground floor as my BF was on crutches. It was such a lovely little flatlet and so nice to be able to move around. Very quite and heard no traffic at all. It is close to the Westfields mall and restaurants so you could walk. Very central. Very clean and really comfortable. Loved the spa bath. Couldn’t fault on any level. So if ever in Christchurch this is definitely the place to stay.

Very well appointed motel room in small complex. Spotlessly clean, modern and contained everything we needed for our two night stay. Comfortable bed and great shower. Room was remarkably quiet, given complex is on a busy road. Short walk to Westfield shopping centre and numerous restaurants and cafes. Helpful manager allowed us to check in a little earlier, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend!

We chose Amore for its handy proximity to central Christchurch, Riccarton mall and the University. Found the unit to be quiet, spacious, super clean and well appointed and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for anything else. Highly recommended.

This hotel is absolutely brilliant, I loved my three night stay recovering from 34hrs of travel to NZ beforehand! Although on the more expensive side for me personally, the location was perfect with everything easily within walking distance. The nearby park & botanical gardens were definitely my favourite! The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful & the room had everything you could possibly need & more - the jacuzzi bath was a very nice touch! I can’t comment on the facilities as didn’t end up using these but the breakfast & food was great. My only bit of feedback would be, I hadn’t realised there was no lift to many of the rooms & getting a 30kg suitcase up their solo with an injury was definitely a bit of a challenge! The breakfast area is also quite small so got very busy at times! Would absolutely recommend & would definitely stay again!

Lovely place to stay close to everything in Christchurch. Room was great, clean and had everything we needed. Restaurant on site highly recommend. We had dinner there and it was well priced and very enjoyable. They also do buffet breakfast. Parking was free and convenient. Staff very accommodating. Walking distance to many other restaurants and casino.

The checkin was smooth and the receptionist was great — she upgraded us to a first floor two bedroom from a second floor one bedroom because I had a leg injury for free, and offered us milk upon checkin. The place itself was clean and cozy, and the location was very convenient as it’s close to the airport and close to many grocery stores and restaurants. Checkout was easy as we left very early in the morning and just left the key in their mailbox.

We had an amazing 3-night stay at Centre Point on Colombo Motel! The location was perfect—right in the heart of Christchurch, making it easy to get around. Our room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy, and little touches like the toiletries and plenty of tea and coffee made it feel extra welcoming. The staff were fantastic—so friendly and helpful. They gave us great tips on places to visit and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though it’s in the city, the motel was surprisingly quiet, and having secure parking was really handy. Overall, it was a great experience. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch and would love to stay here again!

The motel was easy to get to and easy to access. Check-in was seamless and organised as was check out. The people running reception were so friendly. My room was upgraded and upon walking in I was met with a lovely fresh floral scent. The room had been aired out and was extremely clean. The room was spacious with seating, desks, a wardrobe, and drawers. Shower was great. I just cannot fault my stay; its one of the nicest places I've stayed.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the location was perfect within easy walking distance to the centre of town. The room was comfortable and spacious. There was only a thin long window in our corner room but that was fine for us. The shower was good. We also used the laundry on the ground floor, $4 for the washing machine and $2 to buy a washing powder sachet from reception.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a spa bath in my bathroom ( I was just expecting a shower), and I did have a relaxing soak in the tub. (I miss having a bath at home!) I didn't use the spa jets though. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Shower in the morning was of good pressure, height adjusting too. There was an electric hot plate, microwave, fridge, tea / coffee. I liked the provision of cafetiere (plunger) for coffee if you had your own coffee, otherwise instant. The small bottle of milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. I did feel a bit guilty that I only used a small amount of the milk as I only have in tea/coffee. Motel is about 20min walk into the city, easy to navigate. And reception handed out a map, and told me where local shop / eateries were if I didn't want to walk into the city. Really comfy night sleep (probably aided by the soak) When I checked out in the morning, I appreciated being able to leave my car on site. And it turned out, I had left some property in my room (got that erky feeling as I walked in town that I'd not packed an item!), which housekeeping found and as I was returning for my car, I was re-united with. So very relieved and grateful!! Would happily stay here again.

Welcoming from the start. It was a very clean motel, with comfortable beds, spacious rooms with a sofa and table, and chairs. Clean crisp sheets and towels. Well-equipped kitchen, nice coffee and plunger, and a TV to chill out to. Parking was great and the location was perfect. Places to eat nearby or close to go into the city.

He manager showed us to the room and explained different things how it works. He was very friendly and helpful. As we wanted to go to town, we found out, that we could not lock the door. We spoke to the manager and he tried to fix it, but could not. He gave us another room (an upgrade) and we were very happy. The room was clean and had everything what we needed. The bed was very comfy. Only a short drive to the city of Christchurch and to many restaurants and cafes.

Matt at reception was very kind and helpful. The room was warm and cozy when we arrived as he had turned on the heat pump. He even drove us to the casino as there is no shuttle anymore. Bed was comfortable and plenty of pillows. Kitchen was very well stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and milk. Rooms were clean. Great place to stay!

Family owned by a very nice couple that are on site. The room was very modern and not the normal hotel room layout. It was very clean all around. They had a booklet in the room that offered discounts at some of the surrounding food spots. We used 2 free drink cards from that at RR down the street. Parking is right out front of the rooms. The location is very central and walking distance to a small mall. There are several eateries offering mostly Asian eats but some of everything else too. The hot tub jacuzzi in the bathroom was nice to have. We would highly recommend this place to stay. Nicest so far on our NZ trip.

This is the second time my family, consisting of 2 adults and 3 children, is staying with Roma. We stayed there 2 years ago and the room given us was the same, if not better, than before. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and as pictures show, it was lovely. It consists of a room with 2 single beds and another with a queen and a single bed. All very spacious and well lit. Pros:- Apartment is very clean and well kept, beds are very comfortable, living area is spacious, bath has a huge spa tub(unfortunately we did not use it), towels are clean, toiletries were great, dining area was good, Wifi unlimited with great connectivity, kicthen, though small is very well equipped and most of all, thanks to the wonderful host who always make our stay memorable. Location is very convenient and close to Westfield Riccarton Mall, shops and a fish monger who sells fantastic fish for reasonable prices and has a great personality to boot. An Asian supermarket is all within walking distance. Very quiet despite being by the roadside. Points to note:- Our unit is on the second floor, which means having to lug our luggages up the stairs. No dishwasher and oven in unit(for those who want to buy frozen stuff meant for conventional ovens), however there's a microwave.

This is a lovely modern motel with great facilities. Near Hagley park and close to cafes and really good restaurants. We stayed in an apartment type room and it was fantastic. Spacious, comfortable, even a recliner lounge and a small patio area to sit outside. Comfortable bed, loved that the bedroom and lounge was at the back of the unit so that nobody was walking past. Friendly staff and spotless. Nothing to not love. Would recommend and we will be back

The managers were very helpful and kind and greeted us each time we arrived, taking us to our room and putting the heating and lighting on and bringing in some milk. It was nice to have this when so many places are having to choose contactless check-in. Beds were comfortable but best of all the sofa in each room was super comfy - not always the case. Choosing to stay here was also based on cost and Terra Vive was excellent value. It is not luxurious or brand new accommodation but it is spacious, comfy, clean and great value.

We needed one-night accommodation in central Christchurch and found Terra Vive. All we really needed was a bed for the night, and they offered us a downstairs corner unit for $150 per night. The facilities were all we needed, staff very friendly and accommodating, and everything was clean and well-maintained. While the weather wasn't up to much, on a better evening the little outside table and chairs would have been comfortable - the paved area was clean and private. Amazingly, the unit included its own washer and dryer - very unusual for many places in our experience. Not only will we stay here again, we are happily recommending it to friends and family. Great value!

There are at least two great restaurants/bars within 5 minutes walk and many more within a 5 minute drive. The motel could do with a minor upgrade tweak but extremely good value and very comfortable.

Great central location, super clean rooms, super comfy bed, very friendly owner/manager. Excellent value for money. You do hear the sirens if it's a busy night for emergency services, but the same could be siad anywhere in the central city.

A special mention for Brian who was managing the place in the absence of the owners. He was extremely helpful, friendly, attentive and accommodating about everything we needed, be it an earlier check in, advice on where to get food/supplies near to the motel or dropping us off at our car rental depot at the end of our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room had complimentary tea making facilities as well as a nespresso machine and some complimentary pods for guests, which was a nice wee perk. There were Robes and slippers available to use in the closet, as well as a small safe for valuables. The bathroom had very generous, large pump bottles of hand soap, body wash, moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner. They were all a really lovely subtle scent and I thought they were very nice compared to other places I've stayed. There is a lovely looking bar and restaurant on site, as well as a mini bar in the room and room service available also. Wifi was offered free of charge. Overall, a perfect place to lay your head for a night. If I were staying longer or planning on being in the room more, I might opt for a larger room with more of a lounge area.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay truly memorable. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, and the breakfast buffet was delicious and varied. Special thanks to Operations Manager Umesh.

Situated in the centre of rejuvenated Christchurch near the tram shed the Fable is a very nicely appointed hotel with the higher floors rooms (we were on level 15) having a great view over the city to the mountains. Our room had multi channel tv, fast WiFi, tea and coffee machine, fridge, safe an two lovely welcome macaroons. The hotel also has a bar, restaurant and a gym. A very comfortable stay and a good place if you are visiting Christchurch

Road is busy and could be noisy - we requested rooms further away and good double glazing. Emma the owner was so friendly and helped us with various requests. Fantastic coffee van was parked up both mornings. Turn right and opposite and there is a fabulous cafe Affogato - brilliant for breakfast. Turn left and 10 minutes to a great locals pub. 20 min walk into city if you don’t grab an Uber or catch the bus.

We stayed here at the start and finish of a self drive tour round the South Island. The place is motel style and the bedroom and shower room were fairly basic. Tea etc supplies and cooking facilities if wanted. It was convenient for the rental car pick up a couple of blocks away but I suspect not much else. There's not much in the way of restaurants round here but the pub up the road did adquate pub grub. Coffee bars are around for breakfast if you don't self cater. Reception was friendly and helpful but closes at 8pm so care with check in.

We found this place by accident, no booking, Carol (Manager) gave us an excellent price for a 3 bedroom apartment. Very clean, only downside was 2 lots of stairs to get up to the bedrooms. But it was very clean, beds were very comfortable, quiet and Carol was very helpful and friendly. Would easily go back there again.

The rooms were very cosy with the radiator on (well needed in the winter months) and the beds were so comfortable. Lovely hot showers too. The reception team upgraded us free of charge and were very attentive, friendly and welcoming! Would definitely stay here again.

We felt really comfortable here because the owner/managers were helpful, welcoming, lovely people. The hotel looks old and stylish and it is refurbished to a high standard. We chose a room with a jacuzzi bath which was great. It’s situated near the main road but we didn’t find it loud inside our room. Facilities for food prep were useful and we made our own breakfast and light lunch. There are great cafes and restaurants very nearby too, great quality and budget prices. There is a good shopping mall less than five minutes walk away too. It’s in a great location for the city centre too - a 20 minute walk there and a cheap eleven dollar Uber back again will make you feel good. There’s loads to see and enjoy in the centre. Christchurch was are favourite city of all NZ cities.

Phil and Gin were fabulous hosts, and the rooms couldn’t have been nicer. They were sparkling clean, well stocked with high quality bedding and towels, modern tiled bathrooms, and a great espresso machine with plenty of coffee pods. There was even milk in the fridge. We stayed 3 nights at the beginning of our stay in South Island and 1 night on the back end, and both times our booked room was upgraded. The location is easy 20 minutes walking distance to the shops and restaurants around Cathedral Square. There is a fabulous breakfast place, Truffle, right across the street and an equally lovely dinner restaurant, Tutto Bene, just 400 meters away. One day we took the bus, which goes right by the front door, and it was so easy to navigate. To top it off, there were always fresh chocolates by the bed each night. Merivale Manor is highly recommended.

Breakfast delivered evening prior.The accomodation was beautifully maintained and clean. Bed was comfy. A lovely verandah to sit and read with a glass of wine. Host Gin was very helpful. She arranged our transport to the airport without fuss. Location of Manor was good with a range of eating places a 5 minute walk. Location was close to town. Thanks to Gin for looking after us.

Great stay. Staff were helpful and friendly and the recently renovated room we had was fantasic. The unit was very well equipped, extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is perfect as well.

Cabinets in kitchen and bathroom (the pull out ironing board top drawer in the kitchen is a bad idea!) and the lazy boy recliners whilst comfortable did not recline properly as they were broken.

We were extremely surprised that our room had been newly renovated, but regardless we were extremely happy that it was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely walk into the city centre. We arrived from the airport in the early hours of the morning and check in was effortless. We would highly recommend.

We had an awesome stay at the Asure 306 on Riccarton. Mary and Terry, our hosts, were awesome. They were very friendly and helpful and upgraded us to a two bedroom unit at no extra charge. They rooms were very well kept. Beds were very comfortable and there was an excellent amount of space. We were there for 5 days and it was a very relaxing stay. The kitchen units were very well equipped so we were able to have breakfast in the room every day and a couple of dinners too! We would highly recommend the Asure 306 on Riccarton.

It's a good stroll along Riccarton Road to Hagley Oval. There's plenty of eating places along the way especially Crispy Chicken (not far from the motel) and an excellent cafe - Park Ranger. The accommodation is exceptionally clean, roomy and comfortable. It's also quiet considering the proximity to Riccarton Road. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Regular public transport is available virtually right outside the gate.

The room was clean and comfortable and the WiFi was fast. The motel was near shops and supermarkets and there was a bus stop nearby if you didn't want to drive into the centre. Despite being on a main road it was quiet at night and we didn't have any trouble sleeping, especially as the bed was so comfortable.

I loved being welcomed with a friendly smile, the room was lovely and clean and spacious. Details like grey face flannel instead of white and lovely soaps in the shower were appreciated. Coffee caravan right out side the door was very nice too! My room was also beautifully serviced. Thank you!

Getting into the city centre was easy to do by bus, as the No.27 bus stop was just around the corner in Colombo Street. I would definitely come back to stay again.

There is no view from the windows and it was next to a very busy street but my room was not noisy and the bed was very comfortable. All and all it was a pleasant stay and I would stay again.

Upon arrival, John and Ping made us feel very welcome. They are exceptional hosts who made us feel at home. Continental breakfast served in dining area. Good variety of cereals, yoghurts, toast and condiments. Bedrooms were extremely well-appointed and comfortable. Bathroom was large, heated with bath and shower. Fridge and kettle also provided. Hosts gave us a lovely lounge as our own relaxing area as well as a quiet, secluded sitting area outside in the beautiful garden.

John and Ping were amazing beyond belief- an absolute breath of fresh air. John is very knowledgeable and gives great recommendations. It was wonderful to wake up to a continental breakfast made. Talking with John and Ping feels like talking with close friends or family. A clean, comfortable, and charming place to stay.

Perfectly clean, meticulously maintained and organized place. Spacious rooms with magnificent garden veiw, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. The hosts are wonderful! We are so glad we stayed there while in Christchurch! Thank you so much, John and Ping!

Very comfortable bed with a good selection of pillows. Great shower. The kitchenette was perfect for preparing own food. The unit was very quiet despite being on busy Bealey Avenue. City access was easy and only a short distance to a choice of malls. The unit was spacious, warm with a good heatpump and very well priced for a multiple night stay.

Lovely biggish studio room, with a separate kitchenette and a nice modern bathroom. It was clean, comfortable, roomy, modern and really good value. Walking distance to town with free parking for around $150. Can't beat that.

The warm and friendly staff were great, the breakfast was a nice touch and the room was spacious and comfortable. It had a well equipped kitchen and excellent wifi.

Our apartment was light, spacious and comfortable, consisting of a kitchen area/ sitting room, a bedroom with en-suite and a balcony with table and chairs. It had two tv's, one including Sky channels, a fridge, a microwave and effective air conditioning. It was close to the city centre, only 10mins walk away, and had good access from the airport. We found the manager, who seemed to be on duty 24hrs each day, to be very helpful and friendly. For a relatively low cost motel it was excellent value for money.

Excellent stay, after a mishap the owners and staff were more than accommodating us with changes due to my error and missing the ferry the previous day. The unit was spacious and spotless and everything needed. Loved the Netflix and recliners after a busy day sightseeing and travelling. Rebecca was ever so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The unit had parking right outside and even a little area for a quiet relax time outside. Breakfast was available if needed and I was even given some extra milk when asked at check in as I’m a huge coffee drinker. Only downside is we only got to stay the one night instead of two as previously mentioned due to missing the ferry and getting my dates mixed up. Thanks and will definitely be back if visiting Christchurch again in the future.

We loved our stay. We arrived late at night and the hosts had the light on and heating on in the room for us- was so nice to walk into a warm room. The hosts were lovely, so kind each day staff come in and clean your room, make beds, wash dishes and give you fresh towels and milk. The beds were comfy and the shower pressure is amazing. Just a short walk to shops and food outlets or a short drive to the main city centre. Great location, nice and quiet. We have already booked a second stay. Highly recommend 💜

We loved our stay. Me, my wife and our 9 month girl loved the place. Our baby slept throughout the night with ease. We were provided with a portacot without even asking and we requested a late checkout which was accommodated really well. Staff/owner were really friendly and helpful. Had the best spa bath with the fancy twin shower heads which was the main feature and the best that I’ve come across with many hotel/motel and resort stays. Free parking available and close to malls and restaurants. Heat pump/aircon was on point and the kitchenette was really handy. We found our room really quiet even though it’s centrally located. We would love to stay again.

The motel is modern, clean, and really well appointed. We had a two bedroom unit which was really comfortable, warm, nice large LCD TV with Sky, comfortable leather couch and a nice modern kitchen. We were within walking distance of the Christchurch City, The casino & there were plenty of places by us to eat at. The one bedroom apartment had plenty of room, it was hot inside, but we open the windows, the sliding door & main door to let the breeze in. Perfect fresh air oppose to using the heat pump. Amazing friendly staff.

our REQuest for a quite room at rear of Motel upstairs was given and a peaceful few days stay was most enjoyable. ,we love the warm Space heater in the lounge and the heat bulb lights in the bathroom was a delight so warm after finishing a shower and all over the modern updates in the unit were the best we have enjoyed anywhere not to mention the comfortable bed with linen hotel sheets were top class for a great restful sleep , the best ever stay

I liked the location in a quiet area of the city on a lightly trafficked main road. A 10 minute walk to the centre of Christchurch, 3-5 minutes to several restaurants and, though it’s not my thing, a stone’s throw from the casino. The couple who own/operate the motel were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Nicely appointed clean and spacious unit with kitchenette and high water pressure shower helped make my stay very enjoyable.

The lady on duty on Saturday 7th October 2023 and Sunday morning 8th October 2023 is beyond fantastic! Through, friendly and helpful, gave us an option to take the ground level one bedroom suite because the original one on level 2 (she even showed me to let me choose) required walking up the stairs (the lift was out of order and the mechanic couldn't come until next week) , when we laughed about jelly legs after a big hiking trip earlier the day. She had the heater turned on already for us, showed me how to get in and out after hours etc. The room was spotless and well equipped, parking on site are big spots so it was easy. We could walk to the nearby restaurants and the casino is opposite the road with all the little restaurants as well! Quiet, peaceful yet convenient! Definitely coming back the next time! Thank you for giving us a fantastic night of sleep too!

I stayed here with my elderly mother for 3 nights in the penthouse suite. This suite has 2 large bedrooms, with the main one having an ensuite. There is also a second bathroom right next to the other bedroom. There is a large lounge, dining and kitchen area with everything you could need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The lift up to the apartment makes taking luggage up easy. The suite also has a dishwasher, a great aircon (much needed on hot days as the sun pours into the room) and multiple TVs. The motel is close walking distance to many great restaurants, a short 5 mins walk away on Victoria Street. It's also within a stones throw to the Christchurch Casino, Quake City and Christchurch CBD. The secure parking is great and feels very safe, however the carparks are a bit tight, especially if you have a larger car. You just need to pick your spot carefully! The host was very helpful with maps and asking if we needed to know anything about Christchurch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and will be doing so next year.

Focus Motel & Executive Suites went way beyond expectations and I find it hard to believe the review below. Read further down and you will see glowing compliments. They lent us gear to clean our car and made our holiday a very enjoyable experience. If we need accommodation again in Christchurch this is where we will be staying. Will be coming back for certain. The double glazed windows were always appreciated too.

After a few hours on the road, I arrived at the hotel wondering… “Wait, is there no reception here?” A couple of loops around later, I spotted the parking area right at the back — where the reception was hiding all along. Check-in was quick and easy (in fact, so quick I almost had time to re-park the car in the lot next door — just kidding!). The room was huge, spotless, and comfortable. There was a mysterious noise that I never managed to figure out — maybe it depends on the room, maybe it’s part of the charm. When hunger struck, I discovered there’s a restaurant right in the building serving delicious Korean burgers and some of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. Back to the room, I half-heartedly tried solving the mystery noise again… but the comfy bed and fresh linens won. Overall, a great balance between quality and price — and a stay full of little surprises.

The staff were friendly and very helpful especially as we had a late arrival and early morning check out. The rooms were large and spacious, plenty of space to stretch out and repack our bags. The hotel is in a good location right across from Hagley Park with 2 restaurants underneath, a convenience store nearby and other restaurants, bars and a fuel station. Parking is easy too.

Well set up rooms with everything you need. Modern linen and decor. Plenty of plugs and USB charging ports bedside. Balcony with awesome views of park and mountains. Daily service and spa bath were that touch of luxury. All Sky channels. Private parking. Monster Chicken downstairs and other eateries plus sports bar and 24/7 dairy within 2 minutes walk. Double glazing cut out all the street noise and we had the best sleep of our entire trip here.

Great location, looks for place to pick from for dinner or lunch. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and tidy bed was comfortable . We really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic location with Westfield mall just across the road and close to other shops, cafes etc - the motel is quite central so it didn’t take long to travel anywhere. Very clean, warm, comfortable unit - everything we needed for our nights stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They had plenty of knowledge about the whole of New Zealand, from places to go and check-out/explore/experience for the day, to other places with great accommodation around the country. The room was spacious, neat, tidy and very clean. The unlimited use of free wifi was definitely appreciated. Most places in NZ will only give you 100Mb for your stay, or charge you upwards of $10 for just 10 minutes use. So this was a bonus. It's close to plenty of shops and is in a beautiful part of the city. It is easy access by car, and you will be able to park your car securely on the premises. I was there during the 5.7 earthquake and the building held up really well. Nothing was damaged. It's a safe place to stay.

This motel is spacious, clean and tidy. The beds are a little firm for my taste. Sky TV, kitchenette with basic equipment. Most rooms are well back from the road and have double glazing, so generally quiet, although Riccarton road is very busy and seems to attract alot of police sirens at night. A group of shops nearby, including takeaway and dairy. Owners/managers helpful if needed.

We were greeted warmly on arrival, despite feeling bad that we arrived fairly late at 9:45pm, I was assured that it was no problem. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped... just perfect for our brief stay in Christchurch. I loved the extra touch of having a Dolce Gusto coffee machine in our room! What a treat! I will definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff who provided a car seat when we realized we'd left ours behind. They had upgraded our room and moved all the minibar items up high and out of sight because they knew we had our kids with us. I had a wonderful stay at Abbey motor lodge. The service was exceptional, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail, such as the fresh towels provided daily. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights was the perfect location—just a short walk from the city, making it easy to explore and enjoy all the nearby attractions. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and would highly recommend this accommodation, especially for its prime location and excellent service.

1. A place that has always been underrated, offering great value for money. 2. The carpet, furniture, bedding, kitchen, and various dishes and cups all look like new. 3. The toilet and bathroom are clean, fresh, and as good as new. 4. The space and layout design make it very comfortable to live in, you won’t want to check out. 5. Just across the street is the bus stop for the number 27 bus, making it very convenient to travel to and from the airport or anywhere in Christchurch. The 27 bus connects quickly to the Bus Interchange, so you don’t need to drive at all. 6. If walking, it only takes 10-15 minutes to get to the Casino, Cathedral Square, or The Crossing shopping area. 7. The front desk staff is friendly; maybe not always sitting there, but if you press the button or dial a number, she will quickly appear to serve you.

The room was warm, tidy and clean - it had been previously heated and electric blankets on prior to our arrival, very thoughtful. It was lovely and quiet with little to no noise from the busy road outside. The people taking care of us were friendly and very helpful especially in the morning with my windows on my car being frosted over. I highly recommend them as a very centrally located and comfortable home away from home.

From check in to check out our experience with 136 on Bealey was nothing short of amazing. Our hosts were friendly and hospitable from the moment we walked in, offering us plenty of options for must see and do activities and places, and some real winners for places to go eat. The facilities were clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable though the real winner for us was the blackout curtains keeping us cool and well rested at all times. Close to the city center, I'd definitely recommend 136 on bealey to anyone looking for an affordable stay

Great customer service. I arrived at 10pm and they had turned on the lights and heater so the studio was nice and warm. The bed was comfortable and the mattress was firm which I really liked so I had a very good sleep. The facilities were very clean. Nothing flash but clean and comfortable. Definitely good value for money.

The location was perfect for us, with the beautiful Botanic Gardens and arts centre in the Canterbery University building close by. Restaurants and cafes are also within walking distance, as is the city, but the famous city tram passes by regularly which is also convenient. Breakfast was a variety of cereals, fruit, cheeses and cold meets, toast and condiments, bottomless freshly brewed coffee and a generous variety of teas to choose from. Karen and Cherie were friendly and welcoming hosts, totally focused on making our stay the best it could be. They kindly organised an early morning taxi to the airport for us which was much appreciated. The Classic Villa has gorgeous heritage rooms which we loved, but there are modern ones. Everything was spotless, we had a relaxing guest lounge and lovely outdoor area as well, just fabulous.

We were warmly welcomed by Steve, the proprietor who made sure we were comfortable and everything we needed. Our room was tastefully decorated with antique furniture. I think every room was individually decorated. He made some great suggestions for dinner and the property is located a quick walk from great shops and restaurants of Christchurch. He showed us the fridge in the kitchen where we could store any food that needed to stay cold. It was also stocked with chilled wine available for check out on the honor system. We met Jackie, the other proprietor at breakfast. Both Steve and Jackie worked hard to serve us a delicious breakfast and to make sure our coffee cup was never empty. It was fun eating breakfast "family style" with the other guests to share our vacation experiences. We left a portable speaker in the room. Steve called me and even took the trouble to mail it to me at our next destination in Queenstown. That is service above and beyond!

A wonderful stay - great location to town, shops, eateries, bars, walks, gardens. An amazing breakfast with many choices. Very helpful hosts who were awesome and accommodating. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and shower was fab.

This was a comfortable place to stay with pleasant older style character run by friendly and helpful people. It would have been good to have contact a bit earlier about how to check in but that may have been at least partly my fault in that I only made contact the day before I arrived. It was clean, comfortable and secure. There was some street noise but that is to be expected in a central location. The shower in my room made a screeching noise and seemed to take a long time for the water to heat up and I gave up on it. It was quite expensive for a room in a shared house, albeit a pleasant and convenient one.

It’s like returning to a familiar home. We love the location in the central city with easy access to restaurants & cafés. We are very interested in the restoration work being done on the Arts Centre across the road. The breakfasts cater for gluten intolerant people. Steve & Jackie who were looking after the Classic Villa were ever so helpful and lovely to deal with. This time we did not have a rental car but we were able to get Ubers and we walked a lot. We enjoyed the complimentary glass of port from the stylish globe in the hallway and we slept extremely well in the comfortable bed. The room was very quiet and relaxing. The shower head did make a strange squealing sound when showering but there’s nothing really to criticise about the Classic Villa. We will definitely be back when we return to Christchurch.

Quiet location and well maintained gardens with lots of flowers and trees. Very clean, comfortable 1 bedroom motel apartment. Beds set up very nicely and great to have the extra queen bed in the living area. Great welcome from the friendly hosts who were also very helpful explaining what to do in the area and where to find restaurants and supermarket.

The motel was ideal for us. It's very well maintained, neat and clean with good facilities. The room was spacious with a huge, very comfy bed, and a great shower. The gardens were beautiful. The owners were friendly and helpful and obviously care for the property. We highly recommend staying there.

What could be just another NZ Motor Lodge is so much more! The owners clearly pour their heart and souls into this business and it shows. The attention to detail is so refreshing, Peter and Tessa do their upmost to make your stay enjoyable, something so many other places could learn from. We stayed here for 7 nights in a 2 bed unit and absolutely loved our stay. It was amazing value for money. The cleanliness was next level, ultra clean and serviced regularly making it so nice to come back to each day. The gardens are also well tended to making it a lovely peaceful environment to stay in. The location is great also, not far at all from the airport and just off the motorway to get around easy. I used the buses each morning to go to work in the CBD and it was an easy 15 min walk to the bus stop. The Internet / Wifi was super quick, I was achieving speeds of over 600m/sec so can handle anything you throw at it. The number one reason I will be back again is the service and cleanliness. Thanks Peter and Tessa for making our stay so enjoyable, it was really appreciated and we will see you again!

Location was very convenient to get to airport and city centre. Neighbourhood was quiet and friendly. Our room was cosy, warm and comfortable and next to a small kitchen where coffee and tea were available and also a fridge and microwave. Communal breakfast was very good - fruit, cereal, toast, jams, cheese, ham and delicious coffee served by Chet and Steve. Hosts were very friendly and gave us helpful recommendations. The cottage was full of character and a great place to stay .

Chet and Steve were the most remarkable hosts. Friendly, accommodating and interested. The accommodation was beautifully designed and comfortable. It was on a quiet street with good/safe on street parking but easy walking distance to the centre of town and restaurants. The breakfast 'Shed' was fascinating with delightful art and recycled materials. Steve provided a delicious continental breakfast and coffee but a cooked breakfast was available for those who preferred.

Great position on the edge of the city. It’s a bit of a hike to the centre of the city but definite doable. Room was great and very quiet and comfortable. Private bathroom is on the small side but clean and shower was good. Breakfast was lovely. Juice, tea and coffee, cereals and yoghurt, fresh toast and freshly cooked eggs. Hosts Chet and Steve were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions on things to do. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

I was a little concerned about staying in a B&B the final night before we flew out after a tour around the South Island. However, Designer Cottage B&B exceeded our expectations. The room was big with an updated beautiful bathroom and a luxurious shower. The bed was extremely comfortable and I probably had the best nights sleep of our trip here. The owners were very friendly and helpful in offering suggestions of restaurants and things to do. I loved the breakfast area and enjoyed meeting other guests of the hotel at breakfast. The owners were accommodating to dietary contracts. Would definitely stay here again.

Definitely worth a visit!

1. The bed & pillows was exceptional comfortable. 2. The additional sink and tap together with a microoven in the room itsef (outside the toilet & shower) make it practical and convenient for making our hot drinks and getting our water supply. 3. Individual AC in good working condition which we can control the temperature in the room! 4. Strong shower and quality shower gel and body lotion. 5. The design of the toilet allows me to put my toiletries and make up easily. 6. Room service - food available even early in the morning at 2 AM! Order is just at your finger tip via the hotel's tablet. 7. The hotel restaurant food was so delicious and reasonably price! 8. All reception Staff was courteous, reliable and helpful (especiallly Natasha) who helped booked local Tours and Taxi. The recommendation to take bus to Gondola and sea side at New Brighton were wonderful. The bus stop is just 2 to 3 minutes away from the hotel.

This is our second stay at the Mayfair rooms are spacious and clean we upgraded, room was pretty much the same except on the top floor (5) with a balcony and distant views. A short walk to the Casino and not far from the main centre, we ubered to the Riverside Market and walked back along the river. The Majestic Cafe/Restaurant is great although we didn't eat there this time locals highly recommend. With the upgrade we got free snack bar which is replenished daily and barista coffee and tea from the cafe.

Modern, inviting rooms. I stayed in a Standard King. Large windows looking out to building next door and partial view of Hagley Park trees. Lighting was ambient and very nice. Reception staff were friendly. Location great, about a 15-20min walk into central city. I enjoyed dinner at the Majestic sitting outside. The arachini was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with quality products.

The Observatory Hotel is in an excellent location in CBD of Christchurch; within the walls of the Art Center, and the old University. Walking to all the attractions in the area was easy. The Lounge area was furnished like an "Old English Manor". Just missing the fireplace which would have made the scene perfect, as it was raining and really cold on our arrival. Our room was spacious and bright with a comfortable kingsize bed. All the amenities needed, and some! Even some delicious cookies! The food & excellent wine selection , at the restaurant Cellar Door, (which is not part of the hotel and you must make reservations ), was amazing and we ate there 2x Staff was always helpful, and smiling!

The location of the hotel is excellent, near to local restaurants and the botanical gardens on the doorstep. It is a short walk to the jump on and off tram which takes you around the city and stops at all the local points of interest. The hotel is a beautiful old building, previously Christchurch University, which has been renovated very tastefully. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room but also in a communal lounge where tea , coffee and biscuits are available and a glass of wine if you wish (the wine is not free). We found the staff very helpful and informative.

The Orari is in an amazing location – walkable to everything! The hotel/B&B was bright, welcoming, and homey. Our room was very comfortable and super clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I definitely will go back if I ever have the chance to visit this wonderful country again.

It was absolutely lovely, can't fault anything. A gorgeous villa transformed into a comfortable boutique hotel with a relaxed, homely feel. Perfect location walking distance to the central district of Christchurch (Riverside Market etc). Off street parking at the back. Friendly, helpful staff who offered us umbrellas when the weather turned wet. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very civilised in the lovely dining room with everyone eating together so a bit of a guest house vibe. It was also great value for money. Really just what we needed for our final night in the South Island (especially after a bad experience in Queenstown the night before). I would definitely go back and highly recommend this place.

A delightful, historical place to base our stay to access tourist activities close by. Extremely comfortable, clean with a delicious array of choices for breakfast served in the morning by warm, friendly and approachable staff with great insight into the local happenings. The room was definitely spacious, quiet and a great escape and sleep. So much to do and access in central city, but also great to use to go further and come back to 'homely' surroundings. We will be back.

Exceptional spot! Rooms are impeccable and comfortable. There is an evening wine hour, if desired and the breakfast is hearty and tasty. The House is beautifully maintained and decorated, within walking distance to museums, restaurants and the botanical gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful with suggestions and were very accommodating with some of our individual travel needs. Highly recommend! Would most definitely book again!

We stayed at this property 2 times during our NZ adventure. Both rooms were quiet, comfortable and clean. We were picked up at the airport by the hotel, then later taken to the rental car place. This hotel is located near the airport but in a Quiet neighborly part of town. We stayed in unit #22 + #23 - which had a lovely kitchenette, updated lovely bath, comfortable King Bed and a private exterior courtyard. Bonus!!! Next door (walk to) is a good restaurant/bar located inside a hotel. THIS place is my hotel of choice in Christchurch!

Everything - modern, newly refurbished, roomy and quiet. We had the room downstairs on the road therefore access to a private courtyard. Initially we were concerned about traffic noise - a baseless fear, was quiet and restful. We would definitely stay here when next visiting Christchurch - not the normal high turnover airport motel. Restaurant at neighbouring motel perfect. Staff were helpful, friendly and informative.

We needed a motel close to the airport before flying out of Christchurch the following morning. The Airport Christchurch Motel was perfect. Located close to the airport, it has large, clean well appointed rooms including a hob and a great walk-in shower. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us advise on local places to eat. The free shuttle to the airport the following morning was also extremely helpful. And all this for a very competitive price. Highly recommended.

Very nice accommodation. Clean, spacious, quiet, and well equipped with room amenities. Great for overnight to make flight connection. Free shuttle service is nice. It’s also walkable to airport (~2km) on level ground with sidewalk if you’re inclined. Some restaurants are walkable, again on a level sidewalk surface. Metro bus stop directly in front of hotel helps for exploring the city. I’d stay there again.

The motel was amazing. Great staff very welcoming, friendly & willing to accommodate. The room was clean with and perfect, size and comfort exceeded expectation. Our first time in Christchurch and this hotel was recommended by our travel agent. Our room provided more than enough space for two people, and although we didn't make use of it during our stay, the small kitchenette would be welcomed by some. The bathroom was also roomy, with the choice of raindrop or shower wand option. (Our room did not have a bath, so confirm when booking if this is important to you. ) The hotel was very clean and staff were efficient, friendly and helpful at all times during our stay. Breakfast was included in our booking, and while other reviewers have noted some concerns with the breakfast buffet, we enjoyed the selections on offer and did not experience any issues with the availability. We also ate at the Lane restaurant. While it does not provide an extensive menu, the food was very good, and provided a range to try to cater from meat eater to vegetarian. There is also a small bar area, and this spills out into the internal 'courtyard' of the building where additional seating and tables are provided. For those who do not have access to a car, the hotel is around a 15 min walk from the central Cathedral Square, and the nearest hop-on/hop-off tram stop is around 10mins walk immediately on the far side of Cranmer Square in Armagh St.

This hotel is in a great location and is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend it! The room was equipped with a dishwasher, an iron, bathroom amenities, and dressing gowns. It was modern, well-presented, and very clean. I especially loved the Alexa clock beside the bed, which provided weather updates, allowed me to set alarms, and offered news updates. Movies were free to watch as well! The tea and coffee facilities were excellent, and the bathroom was spacious, clean, and modern. It was the first time I've stayed in a hotel that offered complimentary sanitary packs. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a selection of pillows available if needed. One of the best features for me was that there was no road noise, and the air conditioner was quiet—something that's quite rare! Having traveled to many hotels, this one is at the top of my list. The staff were exceptional, always friendly, and greeted everyone with a "hello." Altogether, it was a lovely stay!

The room was clean, bright, had a hob and microwave, hair dryer AND straightener, lovely liquid soaps, shampoo, hand and body lotion, laundry powder disc's, a great bathroom with waterfall shower, an Amazon echo Ball with Alexa, a dining table with two chairs! 😀 Just lovely little extras that make it stand out from the standard. Bed and bedding great. Pillows comfy with provision for other types if required. And the food in the restaurant was fabulous. Gourmet fare, that's dinner as well as breakfast! Friendly, courteous, young staff, at reception and restaurant. A nice 10-15 minute stroll takes you into the heart of the city, Cathedral Square, Convention Centre, riverside markets, and a wide range of bars and restaurants.

A modern, spotlessly clean hotel, located within a 15 minute walk of the city centre. The room was comfortable and spacious with a good shower. There was a small kitchenette good enough for basic tea/coffee making but anything more may have been a challenge. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel a lot, and found the staff excellent and very friendly.

The Sudima is a great choice for a few days in Christchurch. It's a 10 minute walk to downtown and also to the beautiful botanic gardens. Close to coffee shops and restaurants. Our room was large and very, very quiet with nice decor and lots of light. The bed was very comfortable and there was a small kitchenette with supplies for coffee/tea (including decaf instant coffee, which we didn't find at any other hotel/motel that we stayed in during our month-long trip). There was even a flat iron! There's a restaurant downstairs but we didn't try it. The only downsides are that parking is $30/night and while some of the staff were great, others weren't very friendly.

No hurry he said!) This was a great gesture & we were most thankful. If we travel to Christchurch city in the future, this would be our 1st choice to stay. Thoroughly recommended. The prices were high - but the quality of the food and the heat of the food after arriving via the robot was amazing. We stayed with our 6 month old and they were super accomodating of his needs as well and very friendly towards him.

The hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the airport which was great as we had a very early flight. The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar were excellent our evening meal was delicious and it was located on the top floor with great views of the planes taking off and landing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We loved how family-friendly everything was. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly, and the staff surprised our two boys with their own soft toys, a thoughtful touch that made them feel so special. The rooms were modern, spotless, and offered a fantastic view of the airport, which our kids found fascinating. We had dinner at the restaurant, and once again the staff were outstanding, so attentive and genuinely wonderful with children. A highlight for our boys was having their meals delivered by a robot, which they absolutely loved! The food was excellent, and we found the prices very reasonable for the quality and experience.

Perfect location with being able to walk mere meters to the Christchurch International Terminal for a very early morning check in with a young family in tow and to also park the car in the long term carpark next to the terminal and hotel. Clean, tidy and comfortable room and beds. Loved the shower! Loved being able to take the family upstairs to the bar/restaurant to have a soda and view the lights from the top floor.

We booked this Motel for 2 nights in November 24, mainly because of its convenience to Christchurch train station. We were getting the TransAlpine train early one of the morning. Check in was very efficient and we were given a bottle of milk for our room. When we got to our room we were met with a lovely fresh smell and a spotless clean bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. Every thing was finished to a very high standard and the kitchenette was very well equipped with all you would need to make breakfast or a light lunch. We would highly recommend this Motel if you visiting Christchurch.

I loved how clean was our room, quiet, spacious. Happy with all of that, easy check-in... Perfect! But, Our shower head fell over and broke with no reason so when we came back to the room and noticed was already late(Saturday around 11pm) and they couldn't replace shower head or offer another room as service was already far away from the hotel. So, there was no shower for us and an early sign out in the morning as we had to reach home far North to Waikato.

The rooms at the Quest on Manchester were clean, modern and spacious. There was plenty of room to cook and eat in the room if you wished too. The bathroom shower/toilet was modern and very clean. The room even had a sensor night light for the late night toilet visit. We arrived late to the property and the after hours check-in process was quick and easy. The property is located a short walk (a couple of blocks away) from the centre of the Christchurch. When we met the day staff were friendly and helpful.

This is an excellent Quest property in a great walkable location in Christchurch. We liked this hotel so much we changed our hotel plans to stay here again at the end of our trip leaving NZ. The staff is exceptional - very friendly and helpful with questions and getting us into our room early. Great walkable location to great restaurants / shopping. Book this Hotel! Note- make sure you eat at Little High Eatery located right by the hotel...such a great spot with multiple great eateries. Riverside Market is also walkable from the hotel too!

Staff is always so helpful with the best housekeeping service that I had in my entire 12 days NZD trip. The furniture and fixture is all so new and well setup. Whole motel Unit is so spacious and clean! The location is very convenient to restaurants and supermarket. An underrated motel, everything is perfect. It’s a motel with hotel service. Will totally recommend this motel.

Located at the busy intersection of Lincoln and Barrington, the motel is close to a really nice coffee shop, gas station, and Addington Park. It's within a longer walking distance (~30-45 minutes) of Hagley Park, Riverside Market, Christchurch Botanic Gardens, Cathedral Square, etc. My room was next to an entry door and staircase for the building, which was a bit noisy every time someone entered or exited the building. Staff was friendly and check-in was easy; Parking is limited, but was available without issue during my stay. I stayed in one of the last rooms available, which had far more space than needed. The room had a twin and queen bed, chair, desk with two chairs, and a kitchenette with coffee, tea, and milk. There was someone’s leftover milk in the refrigerator (partially used). Not sure if they left it on purpose or by accident, but didn’t use it. The room was clean, beds were comfy, and shower had good water temperature and pressure.

It is a great value for money. Plenty of parking, clean room, comfy bed, spacious shower, nice little kitchenette to make a hot drink or heat up some food. The location is very close to some great restaurants and cafes, and is fairly central. You could walk to the Hagley Park from here. Overall, we had a nice stay and would stay again.

We made this motel our base for excursions in and around Christchurch. Our initial feeling was that the room was a little smaller than we expected for a Superior studio. But it was very clean, comfortable and quiet - despite its location at a busy crossroads. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was excellent as was the shower and room furniture in general. The TranzAlpine railway terminus is a 15 minute flat walk away and the number 7 bus stop is a 5 minute walk away. The 7 runs every 12 minutes or so and gets to the centre of Christchurch within 15 minutes. We would stay at this motel again.

The room was clean and warm. A very comfortable bed and great lighting for tv watching and reading. The desk and chairs were comfortable so we could make plans and record the diary for the family to read adventures when home. Access to the shared guest laundry was easy for checking at reception to use. Daily staff for fresh linen were really friendly and happy. Location - perfect.

We loved that we could sit outside on the balcony too. Such a bonus in a city hotel. We enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant. The wait staff were very efficient and friendly. The coffee was excellent. We had the eggs and fresh fruit and yoghurt and both meals were presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Although we sat inside, there is a large courtyard with a outdoor fire. This would be a fantastic space to enjoy a drink and an evening meal in the sun. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this gem of a hotel. I had the regular suite which was very spacious with a lounge area and comfortable king bed. When I arrived, there was a hand written note and special chocolates. The a la carte breakfast was superb with the barista making a great coffee. So many gluten free options for a Coeliac. I loved the short walk less than 10 min from the conference centre. On arrival back after a long busy day, it was like coming home. A friendly welcome, a seat at the bar for a fabulous cocktail or gin and tonic. The dinner menu is superb, (amazing rump steak). Great friendly service from lovely locals. It would be even better when the weather is fine to enjoy the courtyard. Definitely give this lovely boutique hotel a go over the big common multinationals and experience NZ hospitality. Get breakfast included. I was lucky to get a package deal on luxury escapes but price was very reasonable.

Super comfortable hotel that was spacious and very clean. We managed to get an upgraded room because our previous room apparently had something broken in it. Our space included a full living room area and small kitchen. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Felt like a really nice, high-quality hotel with the hotel bar (we got a complimentary drink there!) and outdoor space. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was also ideal and we were able to walk around the entire city without a car or taxi. Would definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel and staff were just amazing. From check in which was seamless and the front desk staff so friendly. The room was very comfortable and the bed extra comfy. The food in the restaurant was really good and a big thanks to Lucy , one of the happy friendly staff that work in the Bar and the restaurant, all the staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. Would definitely return and highly recommend this lovely Hotel .

This was our last stop on our NZ driving holiday starting from Queenstown. We stayed in four hotels altogether. We chose the Montreal for its convenient location near the Botanic Gardens and other attractions. We had a family suite which had a bed ‘area’ for our adult son, vs a separate room like the hotel in Queenstown. It wasn’t ideal as we couldn’t really use the sitting room which is just next to the open bed area. The nice part of our stay was the helpful gentleman at the reception desk and the friendly young staff at the bar restaurant. The bar was a nice hangout place for me as it was quiet area. Special mention goes to Ella, Isla and Ruby who were helpful in recommending wine and dining options nearby. For breakfast we were served by Kume who was personable and warm and helped get us to a good start in the morning. It was a nice place to spend our last nights in NZ.

The location was perfect. It was less than a minute from any of the venues I needed to be at during my stay. The room was well appointed and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked, good water pressure and easy to control water temperature. The rain shower option was great and the switch from hand held to rain shower was easy to operate. The big windows all around allowed for plenty natural light and a great view across the city. Friendly helpful staff. The food in the restaurant was good too. Sadly, I did not get to enjoy breakfast as had to attend breakfast meetings both days.

We were made to feel extremely welcome on arrival, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were cheerful and very friendly. We dropped off our bags early, as we arrived in the morning, and when we came back in the afternoon to check in, they had already taken our bags up to our room, which was great! We were on 9th floor, and had amazing views over the city. The room was spacious, and comfortable, and immaculately clean. Had the best nights sleep I've had when staying away, as the bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was a good size, and again, very clean. The dressing gowns and slippers were a nice touch of luxury! Really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this location to others as it's very close to all the key city attractions, and very quiet, considering it's in the centre,
