From the moment I arrived (2am) until the moment I left it was very nice. Arriving early in the morning the receptionist was welcoming and made it easy. My phone charger wasn't working so they let me use one while eating breakfast. They were helpful with directions, it wasn't a problem arranging taxis. The hotel is very clean and warm and even smelt good. The shower was amazing with running hot water. A mall across the road including a supermarket.

This place has big spacious rooms with tasteful decor, a big shopping area across the street, and very helpful staff. I was there only for a short time because I'm on a working holiday and needed a bit of a stronger internet signal in the room. The internet is MUCH better in this hotel than in most and is quite suitable for most online needs; I needed to be able to upload a lot of material to an education platform and it wasn't quite adequate, but most people don't need that. The employees were very helpful. My travel companion fell on a slick sidewalk nearby (was raining hard), and they attended to her immediately. I'd reserve here without hesitation in the future.

Great hotel, walking distance from the Centro Historico. About 5 blocks) Rooms are clean and spacious. Our room had 5 beds, which was perfect for our cousin get-together (girl's vacation) Staff is wonderful. Extra friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but sufficient: An egg made to order, a fresh juice, coffee, bread and marmalade. They will also hold your luggage if needed pre/post checkout. Overall I'd give it a 9/10. Only due to some beds being uncomfortable, but I'd definitely return on my next trip.

Everything. The staff was professional and hard working. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was top notch. Eggs are your way! Beds were a dream. Don’t miss out on taking a coffee or coca-cola to the top. It’s a beautiful glassed in sitting area with a lovely view of the city. I watched fireworks up there one night. I felt like it was the top of my castle. I asked for extra pillows and towels and they brought even fluffier ones.

Staff was friendly and professional. They went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. I love the fact the breakfast they provide is made with freshly made fruit juices, fresh housemade jam and fresh bread from a local bakery.To me it does make a difference and helps you appreciate the effort they put in make sure the guess needs are met. The hotel is within 15 walking distance from the main park and local tourits spots and attracctions.

The room I was given was beautiful, vintage and absolutely spotless, the bed was comfortable and the hosts were super lovely and helpful; I had a bus at 6am and they called a taxi for me! The hotel is also located in the perfect location, very close to everything.

Modern hotel with underground parking in Cuenca. Nicely furnished rooms (with Jacuzzi optional) in a relatively quiet city neighborhood. Staff called to make sure we didn't miss the included breakfast and has been very conscientious and helpful.

I've spent the past 3 nights at Rione and was very pleased. Firstly, this family-run boutique hotel is modern and stylish, but most importantly very clean and safe. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and very willing to help if you need anything. The room suited my boyfriend and I (enough room for 3 suitcases). The location is great as you are pretty close to downtown. Breakfast is included (eggs, toast, fresh juice, fruit, yogurt, pastries, coffee/tea). I would highly recommend this boutique hotel in Cuenca. We were very comfortable here, felt safe and really appreciate the excellent customer service that was offered!

We love this place. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The room (two double beds) were small, but cozy, yet bright and cheery. We had a small dog and a cat with us and stayed four nights. The dog was a hit with all the staff and they even came upstairs to visit the cat! It's one of a few places in Cuenca we've stayed where you can actually flush paper down the toilet, which was a nice change. The neighborhood was safe and walkable - plenty of restaurants, malls, etc. within 3-4 blocks, a nice little park same distance, but opposite direction. Fabulous street art (not graffitti), neighborhood security people helping at the busy streets, etc. Breakfast seems minimal, but every morning they offered to make us eggs if what they served (eggs, bacon, waffles, sausage, varied each day), toast, rolls, wonderful fruit, cereal, coffee, tea selection, fabulous fruit preserves, etc. was fine for us. We were there right after the holidays and the hotel was slow, so we always got a comfy table by the windows and could linger, watch the street go by. One of the young desk staff even gave me pointers on how to "climb proof" our backyard for cat when we moved into our house! Mornings my husband slept in, they gave us a tray. Loved the mineral water they had in room, so every day they gave us several bottles when we came back from walking dog. Small fridge, no microwave, but fine for our days there. This is a lovely, homey little boutique - go for it!

I visited this city for business and stayed at this hotel. If you are a business traveler this is ok. The room I stayed at was rather small although sufficient for a night sleep. Staff was attentive and helpful. It is a small hotel but has a breakfast area and breakfast was included in our rate. Breakfast was ready early and they were attentive even though we got there before breakfast opening time. It appears to be close to the center of town too. I would probably go back although there were to things that I was not entirely happy with. The bed cover in my room was stained. That really set me off. Also the shower did not have a lot of pressure and the water was not that warm. Other than that everything was fine. End result is that you are set if you look for a rather inexpensive hotel such as ourselves at the time. One or two nights is ok. For longer stays I would choose something larger and with a wider variety of services.

Front hotel staff was polite and friendly. Very helpful and accomodating with our needs. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The cleanliness was impressive. Breakfast was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience would come back to this hotel in a heart bit.

we found this hotel the perfect place for us, situated in a beautiful square of the city, our room had a wonderful view overlooking the church. it was spotlessly clean, the shower was super, the bed comfortable. the owners were so kind and smiley, and answered to any of our questions and needs. I would definitely come back there if I’d have the chance to come back in Cuenca

The staff were absolutely incredible! Being from the U.S., they were easy to contact through WhatsApp. They made sure my stay was a memorable. The room and view were great, perfect location to see the city. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

The location is perfect, close enough to the main centre for a lovely walk, yet far enough to be nice and quiet. Staff are beyond helpful, english is spoken too. Big supermarket nearby as well as lots of food options. Place was clean, fresh towels everyday and a nice secure parking. We parked 2 Motorcycles securely locked behind gates. Breakfast was great, really can't speak highly enough of this place. Do I need to mention Hot showers!

The staff was amazing, very helpful & attentive! We traveled with our medium size dog and there were lovely parks around the hotel for her to enjoy. Breakfast was great! good endless coffee which was perfect for the chilly Cuenca mornings.

The location a few blocks from stores, restaurants, Parque Madre, the Tomebamba River, and the bridge to Centro Historico was great! The bed was very comfortable with great pillows and bedding. My room only had a small high window so not a lot of natural light but good lighting in the room. The Internet worked well. The bathroom had a good hot shower. The free coffee, tea, and water in the lobby were appreciated. I had requested a fan (I find it helps to muffle noises in these historic properties) and the staff had one available for me. Excellent service from all hotel personnel I interacted with. The breakfast was above and beyond expectations - the small menu provided several choices. It was the best I have had in Ecuador so far! The lobby area was furnished well with sofas and chairs.

My husband and I stayed with two friends for 3 days at Hostel Inez Maria. We were very impressed with Juan and Cathy, the owners/managers. They provided excellent service and information in a relaxed, courteous and charming manner. They showed a concern for our comfort and well being at all times. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and more than willing to answer any questions. The hotel itself is tastefully done and you felt like you were walking into a little oasis away from the city noise. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower, although compact, was hot and had lots of pressure. The breakfasts are individually prepared, with your choice of eggs/omelettes, toast, rolls, fresh fruit, fresh juices and excellent coffee. Defininitly not your standard hotel fare. If you like intimate hotels with character and personal service then this is the place for you.

This is a wonderful place to stay! I had Room #14, and it is beautiful, spacious, and quiet. I slept the best I ever have during my 5 night stay here. The breakfast is good, and the staff is so helpful. Although they do not speak English, it is not a problem, because they will speak slowly or write things down for you so that you can better understand. In my case, the owner was even kind enough to arrange for me to go to the Ingapirca ruins for the day with another guest who was going by himself who spoke both English and Spanish. It was a perfect match and a great day! The hotel is centrally located and in a very safe area. I highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay here again. It's a good value for your money.

Wonderfully charming smaller hotel with delightful common areas to relax, clean comfortable rooms, a great breakfast and most of all , the fabulous staff who were very helpful to us during our stay ! The central location is very convenient for sightseeing.

We stayed for 4 nights and the hotel was very quiet. The room was well kept and clean. Great breakfast every morning and the lady who worked there (not sure if she was the owner but we saw her every morning) was very helpful and friendly. She gave us maps, good information on where we wanted to go. She was lovely. Thanks for the good stay.

This place was incredible. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, great location, good breakfast and spotlessly clean. I will definitely be staying here again and recommending it to anyone visiting Cuenca.

Stayed 4 nights at this colonial building. The room and bath were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed is luxurious! Breakfast was the best we had after one month in Ecuador: continental offerings plus option for made-to order eggs and delicious coffee. The staff were most helpful and friendly, especially Victor Hugo and Stephania at the front desk. The internet service was weak on the third floor so we were quickly offered a room on the second floor were the WiFi service was fast! The manager had an IT guy working on the service within minutes. The hotel is located in the historical area within walking distance of all tourist attractions and numerous restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this boutique hotel were we found superb service in a lovely historical building with modern conveniences. We will return to beautiful Cuenca and Santa Lucía Hotel.

The hotel was easy to book through Expedia and we found a very good rate. The hotel is located in a very congested part of Cuenca, so be ready for time and traffic to get there. There is valet parking, so just pull up to the front and block traffic for a bit. We did not know to do this, so drove around to find parking the first time. Parking and a great breakfast (fruit, fresh breads, numerous egg options, meat variety) were included. The restaurant for breakfast was also great for dinner, reasonable prices. We never were around to try the fancier Italian restaurant in the courtyard, but the setting looked very elegant. The bar/lounge had a nice selection and a long happy hour. The building inside has a historical beauty. We had one of the smaller rooms on the third floor, but it was spacious, had a minibar, and nice bathroom (although the shower watered the floor a bit - bad door seal). The CFL light bulbs take a while to brighten up, so be patient. The front desk service was excellent, very responsive, excellent English for non-Spanish speaking guests. The bar and restaurant seemed to share workers which made them very busy, but the food and drinks were well worth waiting for. The hotel was walking distance to many wonderful historical and city sites. It was a reasonable drive to Ingapirca and Cajas Parque Nacional. The taffic hassle of getting to and from the hotel took down my rating a bit, but otherwise a beautiful building, location and services.

Absolutely amazing experience staying at this property. Is a beautiful colonial building with a cozy courtyard a block away from Plaza Calderón. The hosts were super friendly. They arranged a taxi back to the airport early morning on departure day, gave us complimentary drinks on arrival and promptly took care of any requests we had. The room was a very convenient 2-story unit with a balcony facing the cobblestoned Presidente Borrero street. Breakfast was simple but very good and fresh. Location is amazing. You are within walking distance of most major attractions, restaurants, shops, rooftop bars, beautiful cathedrals and charming plazas. I recommend this hotel 100%.

This is an exquisite hotel. Set in a former private home from 1856 converted annd later converted into a hotel in 1999. There was a beautiful sitting room, that everyone can enjoy. Staying at this place, really gives one the opportunity to experience luxury from another era. My room was simply delightful. The room was well appointed, and had all the necessities to make one very comfortable . An added bonus is that the hotel is located one block from the main square so it is close to all the action, but not impacted by all the noise. It is also three blocks from an amazing market. The staff was top-notch. Completely professional, but very friendly and helpful. The restaurant at the hotel is fantastic! I had eaten at many of different locations in the town and found this to be the best by far. I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant at this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

The staff was very attentive, the room was clean and the breakfast buffet delicious. Estefania Ortiz and everyone in the hotel were always very attentive to all our needs. I would definitely cone back and recommend this hotel. The taxi costs 3 dls to the center of the City and the mall is very close which is very convenient

Great service, the food was excellent and delicious, a very large space with beautiful views, the staff is very attentive and polite. The facilities are comfortable, clean and tidy, it is easy to make reservations and the service is very fast.

The location was perfect, close enough to do the things we had planned, but also far enough away from crowds and right by the beautiful river. Breakfasts were excellent, so much great, fresh food, with fast, attentive, friendly servers. The whole staff was very approachable and attentive. They handled all requests like finding & getting reservations to great restaurants and setting up rides and helping with sight-seeing. They also spoke English which is very helpful. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with super views. Very clean with a safe in the room and someone at the desk all the time. Loved the antique decor in a classy, old, building. And very important to me, very quiet, you cannot hear other travelers in their rooms. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Flavio, Anthony and their co-workers.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Victoria in Cuenca during a 3 night stay in July, 2017. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the historic town center and is walking distance from the majority of the museums, historic churches, squares, and flower market which draw tourists to the city. The staff were very helpful in arranging transport to/from the airport ($10 by private car or about $5 by taxi), making restaurant reservations for us and suggesting sites to visit in the UNESCO World Heritage recognized city. The hotel itself in excellent shape and clean with beautiful colonial style furnishings. We stayed in one of the suites on the top floor which had a seating area with built-in wardrobe, separate from the king size bedroom and a wonderful outdoor terrace overlooking one of the 4 rivers which flows through the city. We enjoyed an excellent dinner our first night in the hotel restaurant, El Jardin. The food and service were top notch. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others. My only real complaint about the hotel was the low water pressure in the shower, but certainly that did not detract much from our great experience otherwise.

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Victoria in Cuenca for six nights, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the nearby attractions. The breakfast was delightful. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. They are incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Next time we’re in Cuenca, we won’t even consider staying anywhere else—Hotel Victoria is our go-to choice. A perfect 10/10 experience!

We had a meal here - we had had a very disappointing experience at their sister hotel in Ingapirka - this restaurant did not disappoint. The staff were very attentive, the food was delicious and the portions suited me much better than some other places that we have eaten in Equador!. The empanadas were fresh and tasty, the beef was very tender and flavoursome ( as was the pork that my husband had) and the dessert completed the meal perfectly. The restaurant was nicely decorated with a good view over the river. All the staff worked well together and our glasses were always filled.

This is a charming hotel and is close to many other restaurants. The room and bath were comfortable but of a moderate size. My room came with a private terrace and the views were great. The restaurant serves decent breakfast and the range offered is good enough. The staff at the reception are very friendly and make sure that you have a comfortable stay.
