Great location! The bed was comfy, the happy hour was great with the drinks and snacks, the jacuzzi tub in our room was amazing, and it was nice and quiet there.

Picked my Husband up at Airport & surprised him that we were staying in Des Moines! I wanted a Jacuzzi room but they were sold out. We loved our stay! Dinner, Drinks & Breakfast food were the icing on the cake!

I like how nice it looked inside and how nice the king suite with jacuzzi tub was!!

Your stay at a Drury will make you want to find another one when your trip is done. The hotels offer friendly customer service and we have found that the rooms are clean, quiet and easy to use. Love the feature of not having to arrive in the afternoon and go hunt for a place to dinner. They serve an amazing array of food choices (both breakfast and dinner) you will not go away hungry and the staff is helpful and constantly refreshing food. Our bed was excellent and the bathroom was enormous, very nice shower also. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed, very spacious!! Clean, Clean, Clean!!

Love staying here! Everything was so clean! Staff at check in was extremely friendly! Really had a fun evening here! The workout room was great too!! They've got some state of the art equipment! The breakfast buffet was delicious! Didn't make it in time for the dinner but I've heard it's wonderful! Highly recommend this place of you're looking for a fun relaxing time!

The hotel is both historic and modern with a spacious lobby, old fashioned elevators, and hallways highlighting Des Moines’ history. We were greeted by a genuinely friendly and helpful front desk staff, which we appreciated at a time when good customer service is hard to come by. The room was spacious, modern, clean and very quiet. It features modern elements like a flat screen TV as well as unique features like an antique style lamp switch and towel hooks. The bed was very comfortable and we had the best night’s sleep of our weeklong trip. The room had no odor and the A/C was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and featured a walk in shower with good water pressure and an amazing design, along with large, luxurious towels. We took the advice of another reviewer and parked on the street instead of paying for parking.

We stayed here on a Saturday night. Our room was upgraded from a regular king to a king suite because we are Hilton honor members. The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. We were able to get street parking right outside the front door. The hotel is beautifully restored and the restaurant/bar was fairly busy. We had one cocktail there. There are lots of restaurants, bars, Starbucks and even a Hy-Vee within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here briefly on a road trip we did through Iowa and Nebraska. The hotel is beautiful and we only got to visit one restaurant, Hobnob Coffee and Wine Bar, for breakfast. We stayed on a Sunday night to Monday night and there weren’t many guests or staff. We wanted room service and followed the instructions on the card left in our room (you’re supposed to pick your meal choices and leave the card on the handle of your door the night before your expected breakfast). Unfortunately, the breakfast never came, so that’s why we ended up just eating at the restaurant. That was a bit disappointing for the quality of service the hotel is supposed to be offering, but we assumed it was because there was not a lot of staff that night.

Lobby was left messy after crowds moved out making it difficult to use the shared space. The Hobnob bar was clean, welcoming and an amazing experience. the room was clean enough but the bedding has some small stains and the shower door was in good shape. There is not a fan in the bathroom and the small king bed room could use some privacy with close proximity to the bed. Overall it was okay just didn't leave up to expectations from the renovated property. The back garage elevator not working is also difficult with luggage if not using valet.

The property was conveniently located off I35 on a quiet side street. The hotel appeared to be new or recently renovated. The staff was friendly and check in was fast and simple. The lobby area was open and had a modern appearance. Our room was comfortable with a great bed. The bath had a large vanity and good shower. The pool was clean and heated, but not too warm. Unfortunately there was no hot tub. Breakfast was much better than the ordinary complimentary breakfast. I would definitely recommend stay here.

The room was very clean. Everything looked recently renovated. The lobby was decorated for the season, which was very cute. There was a large variety of food for breakfast, both hot and cold items. Our beds were comfy and the room was quiet. We heard no noise from other people or from traffic. We didn’t use the pool area, but other families did. It looked clean and well maintained. All the employees were friendly. I couldn’t ask for more!

Great stay! La Quinta in Ankeny was exactly what we needed—clean, reasonably priced, and close to restaurants and our event venue. Check-in was smooth, and the room (king with breakfast) was comfortable, with a great TV setup and a nice bathroom. The gym was well-equipped for a small crowd, with free weights, cardio machines, towels, and water. Breakfast was fresh and well-stocked, with both hot and cold options, including fresh fruit, waffles, and yogurt. The staff kept everything clean and replenished. Didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked inviting. We would definitely stay again!

Breakfast had a great variety of food. Front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. Which is a big plus for me. Room was very clean and plenty of room. Loved the comfy beds and pillows. Very quiet at night except for the people slamming their doors. Our shower had a high pitch squeal to it but went away after awhile. We will stay again if ever in the area. 😊😊

The staff was all very friendly, the breakfast was good, and the staff was working to make sure the breakfast area was clean and well stocked. The room was clean and well taken care of. The rest of the facilities were well maintained as well. We enjoyed our stay.

They do have breakfast but I did not get the opportunity to partake in it because I was loving the room so much and slept through the breakfast. Overall, the room was wonderful, smelled clean and nice, the view was nice, the jacuzzi tub was clean and wonderful and the staff was great.

The breakfast could have had more hot item selections but was still good. The jacuzzi suites have always been amazing. Beds are so comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Downtown Des Moines. The hotel itself was excellent—very clean, well-maintained, and staffed with friendly, attentive service. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a modern and well-designed bathroom. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, though the showerhead could have used a cleaning as it appeared partially clogged. The hotel bar was a nice bonus—strong, well-made drinks and decent food made it a great spot to unwind. One of the best perks of this location is how walkable it is. You’re within easy walking distance of several great restaurants, bars, and shops, and it’s especially convenient if you’re in town for the Des Moines Farmers Market when it’s in season. The only real downside was the parking situation. While the hotel offers self-parking for $30/day, it’s a bit frustrating. The small surface lot holds about 20 cars, and the underground garage—while larger—is incredibly tight. The layout is awkward, with many spaces blocked by concrete pillars and a dead-end row that’s nearly impossible to back out of if the garage is full. Unless you’re driving a compact car, parking can be a real challenge. Overall, we’d definitely stay again for the quality and convenience—just be prepared for tight parking or consider alternate transportation options.

I had a perfect two-day stay at the Hilton Des Moines Downtown. Everything was terrific. The location is convenient to a variety of business and tourist sites. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was modern and well-appointed with plenty of outlets and charging ports. The amenities are excellent, with a well-equipped fitness center and fast Wi-Fi. I did not use the pool nor the conference facilities. Dinner at the restaurant was quite good and there are also many restaurants a short walk from the hotel. Since the weather was nice, I didn't use the skywalks, but I am sure they are quite useful in winter. it was my first time in Des Moines, and I am glad that I stayed at the Hilton Des Moines Downtown. If I return to this area, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended.

It was our first time staying in downtown Des Moines. Our entire stay from check-in to check-out was superior. After driving all day it was so nice to relax. The staff could not be more accommodating. Checking in was a breeze. We arrived for check in later in the evening so the bar area was open for food and having a delicious menu with many things to choose from. The bar staff went out of our way to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast in the restaurant had a wonderful assortment of choices and the service was excellent. Again, the entire staff was kind, courteous and gave amazing customer service.

Spacious rooms, comfortable bed and pillows, and helpful staff. Food at event in meeting room was delicious and good quality. I didn't eat at the restaurant or visit the bar, but there were lots of people there. Cozy seating outdoors. Walkway to the conference center was great during the heat of summer and I am sure the cold of winter.

we stayed one night going and another night coming back from Kansas city to attend a funeral. There is plenty of parking by the entrance to unload. The desk clerk was friendly and helpfully told where to park right across the street for a couple of dollars. The hotel had a huge bar in the lobby that doubled as Starbucks in the mornings. Restaurant was also in the lobby. This hotel is next to the convention center and connects by an enclosed walkway. Downtown restaurants are very close and we could have easily walked except for the bitter cold. So we took an Uber. The room was nicely decorated, clean, with good linens and pillows. Everything in the room worked well, plenty of light and two chairs. Overall it was a good, comfortable stay.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn on August 21. Nancy, was wonderful welcoming us I had requested handicap room that was shower accessible and she made sure we had one. We met Drew one of the owners of the property and he was excellent too. They both had suggestions for dinner. We decided to just eat at Applebee's which was only about a long block away. The swimming pool was very nice and well maintained. I liked that the pool was warm enough. They also had hot tub which we did not use. After using the pool we smelled the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious. The room was very nice. My only suggestion was the bed. Drew, explained that new mattresses were on order. The breakfast was excellent. I would suggest this to my clients wanting a convenient hotel in Ankeny.

Booked this hotel to ride the High Trestle Trail. It’s super close to the trailhead. Very clean hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful, decent little workout room-free weights and some cardio machines (all in good working order!) , and the breakfast buffet was quite nice! I would absolutely stay here again. It is not a brand new hotel so some things are a little dated. But still very clean and quiet and nice.

It was conveniently located. The entire property was spotless. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We didn’t spend much time in the room because we were visiting a sick relative. So it was the perfect place to come back to in the evening to decompress.

This is our first time staying here. It was a great experience. The staff at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and exactly what we needed. It was so nice to have a fridge and microwave. The bed was high up off the floor and I loved it! Mattress is a little firm for my liking, but that's all personal preference. Plugs right next to the bed was perfect for charging my phone while I slept. I do wish we could have the fan on constant speed, but again, personal preference. Only downside--walls are a little on the thin side, but luckily we had quiet guests next to us. We enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning before we left. I only had toast, my partner had the waffle and eggs.

In town for a quick 2 day weekend with a friend. Picked the handicapable 2 bed suite. The room was gigantic with plenty of space to lounge and spread our stuff out. Kitchenette looked solid but we didn't cook so can't comment on that. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedroom AC vent provided ample ice cold air for quality sleeping conditions. The only two downsides were that the bedroom did not have overhead lights, only a small table lamp, and the bathroom shower assembly was quite subpar compared to how nice everything else was. The rest of the bathroom was just fine, though. Finally, everything on the 1st floor is great. Spacious workout area, ample pool/hot tub room, extremely large dining area and lounge, and breakfast was a good variety with all of the continental breakfast staples.

We've never stayed in a Staybridge and were really please with the experience. Good staff (although could be more informed about local restaurants) and exceptional room/1 bedroom suite. The layout is one of the best thought out of any recent hotel stay. Also great location in the middle of East Village. This will be our place to stay on future DSM visits.....and we'll try Staybvridge in other places. Pros: Location, Full kitchen, Very comfortable bed and pillows, Lots of plugs, Very good shower, Better than average free breakfast (hours could be a little longer), 2 TVs, Good HVAC, Cons: Parking is $20 and in a mediocre lot behind the hotel, Smokers at back door smell up the area, housekeeping missed one day but otherwise room was impeccably clean.

The hotel staff were amazing. Everything was perfect. I was visiting Des Moines to watch my grandson in the NJHRF, but I was in a virtual class throughout the day. I felt safe, the breakfast was amazing, and the WiFi fit my needs. I highly recommend Staybridge Suites Downtown Des Moines. I can’t recall the name of the lady at the front desk most of the week, but she was fantastic!

From the moment we walked through the doors, we received a marvellous greeting and service from receptionist Michelle Moreno. Nothing was to difficult, Michelle went out of her way in every aspect. Room was spacious, fantastic comfortable bed with amazing pillows. Very nice Dove products used within the bathroom area. Really comfortable room. Really enjoyed the leisure centre, Pool and Spa clean and relaxing with great opening times.

We are a family of five, so we always need a suite. This place was perfect. Plenty of room, very clean, the staff at breakfast are amazing and its a great location. We forgot two items in the closet that were never found, but that doesn’t change my rating. Desk staff incredibly helpful and professional. We will definitely stay here for the rest of our visits.

The 2nd shift front counter lady was amazing! She made our stay even more great by her positive, bright, friendly, welcome everytime we entered the hotel. (She deserves a raise literally the best customer service we have ever had) All staff was very friendly and it had a beautiful view with a hot tub and a pool. Also nice burger restaurant next door with lake views. Family or romantic getaway its perfect location and hotel. The outlet mall is right across the street and you can see Adventureland from the hotel.

The front desk clerk Michelle was absolutely a doll. She goes out of her way to make you feel at home, the property is the cleanest I’ve seen at a hotel, I’m very picky . The breakfast was good and a notch above regular hotel breakfast. Rooms were spacious and clean. Shopping at the outlet was convenient. Adventure Land was easy to get to . The restaurant next to hotel had great food, customer service and the vibe was fun. All around I’d love to visit again. I was traveling with 1 other adult and 3 children.

We had a late check in and the lady who was serving at the front desk was enthusiastic and super helpful. The breakfast was a standard breakfast. They seemed very friendly toward families and also have a bar for adults at night to sit and chat. The room was very large (meaning the ceiling was way up there) and clean. The bathroom, especially the shower was beautiful and just a great stay from start to finish. The area around has another hotel, a shopping area, and is very close to a starbucks and an amusement park.

My family of four stayed here one night after the NASCAR race. The staff was so welcoming! I didn’t get her name but the front desk lady in the evening was so wonderful, friendly, helpful. What an asset. The hotel is in a good location. Two great restaurants next door. Bar in hotel was open until 11. We really appreciated the outdoor patio space and ability to walk around the pond. Room and hotel was spacious and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Husband and I both liked/enjoyed this hotel. It was actually one of the nicer ones that we’ve stayed in! It was modern, clean, spacious and felt upscale. The room was very nice, beds comfortable, awesome large screen TV. The breakfast fare was fairly standard as compared to other hotels, but dining area was very nice with lots of space. There is a nice patio, but it was a bit cool and windy to be able to enjoy it. The hotel location was great - not too far from a major freeway, close to a nice outlet mall and Bass Pro Shop. Adventureland and the horse racing track were also not too far away, but it was still too early in the season for both of them to be open. There is not one thing that I can think of that is negative about this property. Husband and I plan to return to this area in the future and will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Bed was super comfortable! Pillows- soft and fluffy - didnt stay for breakfast, coffee in room was real good. Room was old but very clean and nice. Airport shuttle at 400am was on time and very helpful. Staff friendly and helpful- close to airport and great restaurant near by. enjoyed our quick one night stay

We’ve stayed here many times and was pleasantly surprised by the new updates to the property. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are very clean. Housekeeping was very timely and thorough. However, the continental breakfast (even though complimentary) should be changed up a little; more fresh fruit options, breakfast pastry (packaged or fresh) and another coffee flavor (Hazelnut and/or vanilla). Overall a great stay and we will stay in the future.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. It was modern, spotless, and comfortable. The room was quiet and the bed was just right. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Staff was welcoming and helpful, and best of all, my checkout time was at noon. I would definitely stay here again if/when I come back to Des Moines.

Decent breakfast and good coffee. The large room was spotless and comfortable. I loved the couch area to relax after work. The area is very nice with lots of shops and restaurants. Lots of parking and I felt very safe.

4.5 out of 5 stars Overall good experience and great value! My room was clean and comfortable. Larger than typical TV and couch. I liked the fresh fruit at breakfast. The choices weren't as vast as other hotels, but it was sufficient. Location: Great location near lots of restaurants and shopping. Safe feeling neighborhood. Noise: The walls were thin and you could hear people in the halls, however, with the room fan on constant, it was enough to block it out for sleeping.

ACTUALLY VISITED OCT 2018 … My Review has been sitting in DRAFTS and never POSTED. MY MISTAKE I GUESS, BUT AM SUBMITTING NOW SINCE I HAD TAKEN THE TIME TO WRITE IT BACK THEN. HERE IS WHAT I WROTE AT THAT TIME: We stayed at HI Express West Des Moines one night and had plans to stay in another city the next night. We liked this place so well that we canceled the other hotel and stayed here a second night. It is new, modern, comfortable, clean, and had a very good breakfast. The bathroom was good, spacious enough, and had a good shower. Check in was very helpful and available. This is in a good location and very convenient to a number of restaurants. A mall with movie theater is across the street. If I were to be in this area again, I would most definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!

The location was great! Dave and Buster's with a nice mall across the street! Wonderful check in with the ladies being very helpful and recommended a great pizza place! The decor is very up to date with fun colors that compliment the neon lights at night. Nice patio outside where we enjoyed drinking and having coffee. The breakfast was delicious with eggs and yummy potatoes with healthy options also. The teas and fresh ground coffee were a pleasant surprise! We loved the Dove toiletries! They all smell great and thanks for going green and saving on the little plastic bottles! The beds were comfy and I didn't hear anything all night! Outstanding hotel that shows pride with how clean everything was inside and out! Most beautiful plants when you walk in! Can't wait to come back! 😀

My wife and I stayed at this Holiday Inn while on a road trip. The hotel is clean and fresh looking. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bed was great. Our room was quiet. The bathroom has a walk in shower. There are a handful of restaurants close by. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Wow, I don't normally get excited about chain hotels, but our stay here was a real treat. The building is brand new, gleaming, and gorgeous. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. It was so clean, I wondered whether we were the first people to stay in the room. The beds were just the right blend of supportive and soft. The hotel is located within a new commercial development that is also very clean and appealing, with many nice restaurants and other businesses nearby. We interacted with 2 staff members and they were both very friendly and helpful. The man who checked us in helped us find a great place for dinner. Would definitely stay here again while in Des Moines.

Very clean and comfortable. Receptionist was amazing and very friendly. We had to leave early before breakfast for an appointment but we could smell breakfast cooking and it smelled amazing.

Our family reserved 3 rooms for one night at this location. It was easy to access, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast and friendly helpful staff at the front desk. We arrived an hour before check in and Chris got all of us into rooms. However on Sunday morning we woke up to icy snowy conditions and me on crutches. As I waited for my husband to bring the truck to the front door, here comes Chris with a stack of old towels. He proceeded to lay them outside the door to the edge of the drive so I could get safely into the vehicle without slipping. Thank you Chris you truly made my holiday special!

The breakfast was great. Kudos for the choice of food( good mix of protein, carbs and besides that, it was all tasty), the attention to cleanliness and the very comfortable area to enjoy the meal. The fact that it also offered packaged breakfast sandwiches which could be taken back to the room(which had a refrigerator(yay) and a microwave) for those who didn't want to go down for breakfast was an added A+.

There was a gas station and some fast food restaurants that you could walk across the parking lot to get to. You didn’t have to mess with getting in a car to find something to eat or to find a gas station to fill up the gas tank The breakfast host was diligent about keeping the breakfast bar stocked and cleaning around the bar and wiping down the tables once guests left. The Belgian waffles were great. They are more practical than the pancake machines or waffle griddles I have run into at other accommodations. All you had to do was pop one in a toaster, and you had a terrific tasting waffle. I enjoyed having an indoor pool to go to. It was nice and warm, and there were plenty of towels available. I also was impressed there was a lift option for individuals with physical disabilities. I know someone who might appreciate that a lodging facility would have that available.

The staff was very friendly and professional. We arrived at 10 pm and left about 5:30 am the next day so did not get to enjoy the buffet or any of the other amenities. But the rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable.

We had a great rate, upgraded room. The hotel is older BUT clean!!! The staff was nice, pool was open, other items open BUT... no breakfast because they DO NOT have the budget. Ugh... so a banana and a mini muffin!!! Come on this virus stuff is now a crutch for hotels to cut back to give less and charge higher room rates. This is crazy!!! Plus NO coffee pot in the room. Cold coffee in the lobby!

This was fourth or fifth stay at Renovo and I always love it! The staff are friendly and super helpful. I especially appreciated when the staff member who checked me in made sure to keep safe a box of LaCroix I'd accidentally left at the front desk. The only downside to this visit was that the bubbles on the jacuzzi weren't working. :)

Great hotel. Only complaints are that they don’t have decaf coffee in the self service coffee area (we were told we could make it in our room, however, we had just checked out) and the water is so soft in the shower that it is impossible to rinse soap and shampoo. Otherwise, it is clean, comfortable, feel safe both in hotel and parking area. Close to shopping and restaurants—drivable, not walkable, other than the Machne Shed.

Great stay overall. Wish I had been told at check-in that our room was right next to the pool. The only “window” looked onto the pool. If there were a lot of kids it did get a little loud as well. The beds were very comfortable and the bacon at breakfast was amazing! The shower was okay, not much pressure. Just a basic shower. Also the bartender at the bar was excellent and very nice!

Enjoyed the stay immensely. Couple of opportunities for upkeep, but both minor. Pool area is one of the bes t I’ve been too. Clean. Perfect size. Perfect temp. Clean and well taken care of. Hot tub the same. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was very good, the staff were amazing at keeping everything fresh and available. Every staff member was very kind and friendly especially the housekeeper very polite and had an excellent smile on her face. Everything was clean and very well taken care of.

This hotel is in a great area of Des Moines with access to so many restaurants and bars just a quick walk away. We have stayed here several times and will probably continue to but it is desperately in need of an update. Also whoever cleans this place doesn’t do a good job at all. Every single corner of edge is dusty, dirty, full of crumbs. The walls are never wiped down at the edges, the corners of the bathroom floors and shower/tubs are not clean at all. We use the pull out bed and when we pulled cushions off the couch were pretty gross. I also hate that they only provide double beds. This is a personal preference but it really makes our nights less comfortable. Bar is decent for a quick drink in the evenings.Breakfast is the best hotel breakfast simply because of the made to order omelettes. Overall it’s an ok spot, I wouldn’t a premium for it though as it wouldn’t be worth it at all.

We were in town to explore the area that we are moving too in a couple months. Our stay at Embassy Suites in Downtown DSM heightened our excitement for our move! We loved how spacious the room was, we loved having drink vouchers for the evening and a great breakfast featuring a made to order omelette bar. The shower and bathroom counter space were very spacious. We had friends visit our suite to chat after dinner and they were impressed with the amount of space and comfort of the room. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and family that come to visit us in our new home.

Parking was very convenient being just across the road. Staff were very busy so it felt a little rushed, but I understand that. The room was very clean and comfortable for our stay. We had complimentary drinks, but did not get a chance to try out their breakfast. It was the perfect walking location, if you wanted to be downtown near entertainment. We felt very safe with its location.

Clean, quiet, great location. Breakfast buffet was good except for the coffee. Easily the worst coffee I’ve ever had anywhere.

Stayed here many times and it's a dated hotel that works for us. The location can not be beat, 3rd ward has grown and more to come. A lot of restaurants all over this town. Just take a walk in any direction you'll find a place to eat. Great food here at Liberty and very cozy bar, The staff here deserve recognition. Most have been here for years and their names are...Valerie, Kayla, Rachel and Manager - Lance. Great hard working team of a very warm welcoming staff. They are busy for Managers reception, two free drinks, 5:30/7:00 pm along with snacks. See ya next time, thanks for the hospitality. No more shuttle! This is unacceptable, so many guests need it. BRING IT BACK. Most Embassy Suites have a shuttle. Wth! Why has it been removed? Swimming pool is cold, no hot tub. All three elevators were operational and moved fast enough. Comfy bed.

We were in town for a wedding, in the area for the first time. The person who checked us in was extremely friendly and accommodating. Everything was very clean and the beds and rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast area was clean, food was a standard free breakfast. We had made mention to the front desk agent that we were in town for a wedding when we checked in. The same agent checked us out in the morning and remembered and asked how it was. These nice personal touches always go a long way.

Staff were friendly room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Variety of hot breakfast items and breakfast staff were attentive.

My friend and I stayed here prior to a bike tour. It was one of three recommended by the tour company. The rooms were large, bed and pillows comfortable and shower pressure good. The breakfast buffet offered an adequate number of hot/cold items. The hotel offers parking for a fee. We left a car for five days and paid. $35. The front desk staff were friendly and welcomed us back when we returned to pick up our car.

A superb stay! The great service started when we walked in the door and Jane greeted us. She immediately put in a request for the connoisseur to reach out to us about getting to our event. As soon as we reached our room he called and told us he’d be right there when we needed a ride and would pick us up as well. He was so friendly on the ride too! The bartender Rebecca was helpful with places to see and gave great customer service. In the morning the barista at the coffee shop was helpful, cheerful, and thanked us for our stay! I can’t forget the valet people that parked the truck. They were talkative and friendly. And the bedding…amazingly comfortable! 5 star stay!

Comfortable stay overall. There was no room upgrade, but they added my Marriott number to my reservation and assured me I would get extra points since the executive lounge was closed during my three-night stay. It linked to my Bonvoy app but then disappeared after checkout. Hopefully, it will be reflected shortly. The breakfast buffet was good, and the stay was comfortable. The hotel is a short walk from the Saturday Des Moines Farmers Market and lots of great restaurants. The staff was super friendly. I appreciated the laundry facilities, though I didn't see any soap in the market downstairs. Fortunately, there was a stall giving free samples at the Farmers Market.

The breakfast would be better if included with the hotel stay. The bed was nice and comfortable. View is beautiful! The room was nice and cozy. The shower was great with good water pressure!

Parking on-site was full. Only meals available were in bar or in-room. Booked 1 night then went back and booked second night, which they acknowledged upon check-in but had to go to front desk in 2nd day because room key didn't work. Breakfast (ate in bar area) eggs were cold, fruit ok but overall not fresh tasting. Supper good, ordered and picked up to eat in room. Very friendly staff, apologic on issues

Our stay this weekend was amazing. We were there for the state swim meet. The hotel was filled with swimmers and wrestlers who were there for their state meet so the hotel was crazy busy. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the entire staff was professional, friendly and worked hard to make our stay great. The manager at the front desk could not have been more helpful and as he was there from the time we arrived to the time we left I was not sure he ever went home although he assured me he did. The rest of the front desk staff, the housekeeper and the wait staff were all excellent.

I would have normally stayed at Marriott but my colleague recommended this property as it was close to our customer. Easily accessible off the freeway with plenty of free parking. There is a Starbucks and several other food establishments just across the road. Hilton allow you to check in with the app, and I could choose my room (within the same class) which was nice. The room was ready earlier than the 3pm checkin too. The girl checking me in was friendly. The room was a decent size with a beautiful large TV (and modern built in set-top box for Netflix). Shower pressure was OK. Bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable. There was a super friendly bartender that made a mean Wisconsin sours and the lobby has a cozy feeling to it. The corridors however .. especially on the 6th floor smell like wet dog. No smell in the room, but the public areas (corridors and elevators) were tired and the aforementioned smell. Breakfast was NOT included, and for $16 plus tax and tips it probably wasn't worth it. But to have breakfast on actual crockery as opposed to paper plates was a nice change and the waitress was super friendly. The hotel initially charged the wrong credit card despite me specifying I would pay at the hotel in the booking, but the girl on checkout was able to fix this for me. On the whole a decent Hilton. Not the best I've stayed at, but comfortable enough.

As the title says: clean, quiet and comfortable -- the most important features of a good night's stay. The hotel looks relatively new. The room floor was the fake-wood tile -- something I much prefer over carpeting -- with a small rim of carpeting around the bed. The desk chair was a comfortable faux Aeron chair. The front desk was friendly and recommended a suitable restaurant (Urban Grill). There is a Starbucks across the street -- a quiet street, so I walked to it and brought breakfast back (so we didn't try what the hotel offered)

I've been doing a cross country road trip once a year for the last three years and this is the nicest convenient hotel (right off a freeway) I've stayed in. It seemed very new, though I was told it's 20 years old. It had a recent update, though, and everything felt fresh. The room was very large, had plank flooring (so appreciated), and was incredibly stylish for a place that falls in the budget hotel spectrum. The lights (I counted four different kinds of lamps) were especially attractive. You might say "who cares?" but it makes a difference to me. I like pretty things. Also liked the room-length counter along one wall---plenty of room for all our stuff (and there's a lot thanks to traveling with a dog and having to eat in room). The bathroom is also roomy, with plenty of counter space and the bed was the most comfortable of my trip (four different hotels). There are several dining options within walking distance and a nice long, safe sidewalk on the street so you can take your dog (or yourself) for a real walk. The dog fee is $50 which is pretty average these days. Breakfast is not included, but I find the offerings of most hotels pretty unappealing and unhealthy anyway, so didn't care. There was free coffee and tea though. I'm hoping this is typical of Hilton Garden Inns, as I will definitely try them again.

Beautiful facility, super clean, super quiet. The pool isn’t huge but it’s clean. The beds were comfortable and my whole family slept well. Dog friendly. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are updated, clean and inviting. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was clean, the staff was polite and helpful, the rooms were large, nice for big families, but the shower was horrible. The bathroom was clean and well stocked, but the shower head was bad, with a trickle of water. Not even enough water to keep you warm as you shower.

Very accommodating. Great breakfast in morning. Rooms very clean. Pets are welcome. Staff was very pleasant to talk to. Did not use the swimming pool or jacuzzi but the room look clean and very usable as well as the fitness room. Overall very good stay would visit again

The pool was a good temperature. The pool area was clean. The hot tub was nice and warm. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Staff was kind to our young kids. I didn't feel bad about sending them to the front desk unattended for shampoo. I called and warned the front desk. It made our kids feel grown up, and I felt they were safe. The location is perfect. Not far from the Jordan Creek Mall. The price was awesome for the room, pool, and breakfast. It was a REAL breakfast! Sausage, eggs, potatoes, oatmeal bar, bagels, toast, pastries, cereal, fruit, and waffles. Something for everyone really.

I recently had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn West in Des Moines, Iowa. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day of travel. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, with a variety of tasty options to start the day right. A special shout-out to Heidi at the front desk—she was incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!

Staff was accommodating and helpful. If we had any needs, they accommodated quickly and to their best. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. A big plus with the toiletries provided. Breakfast had plenty of options. The coffee was very delicious and fresh at all times of the day.

Hotel is very clean, room spacious, bed very comfortable and bathroom lovely. But, if you like your shower hot, turn the water on a few minutes before you get in. Location very convenient if your are traveling on highway 80, but, no restaurants within walking distance!

Fast check in, friendly staff, clean well appointed rooms, comfortable beds and an amazing (included) breakfast! I was completely surprised by the complete breakfast! Best one at a Holiday Inn Express! Scrambled eggs, biscuits,gravy, sausages (pork and turkey) omelettes.. warm cinnamon rolls, bagels, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, juices, coffee, tea... Omg! All fresh and top quality! Great way to start the day.

This was a nice hotel, room was clean and comfortable. A few other guests were rude and slammed doors and one guy loudly passed gas right outside out door (gross!) before he went into his room opposite ours. The breakfast was quite large and after 3 days we still hadn't eaten the same things. Nice selection. Employees were all friendly, we took the shuttle to Fong's Pizza one afternoon but just walked back. The room had 2 different shades but light still gets in on the sides if that bothers you. Bathroom has shower only, no tub. Thin carpet in main area to help keep noise down, and the king bed was comfortable. We would stay here again if it was for one night, but not for longer because it's not right downtown. Note-because this hotel is outside of downtown you have to drive and pay to park everywhere, or walk like we did. We walked about 12-15 miles total in 3 days going back and forth to restaurants and attractions. But getting the app to pay to park seemed stupid for a short visit. There are no restaurants by this hotel, only a Starbucks and a place a couple blocks away that wasn't good.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at check-in, especially Maddie. The hotel is well maintained, very clean. They had high quality comfortable beds and linens. The bath had a great shower, with adequate vanity space. The room was well designed with a desk and effective lighting. There is also plenty of parking on the premises. It is pet friendly with a modest pet fee.

This newer facility is comfy, even if it's full. The free parking and wifi are great, breakfast has hot and cold options, desk people are friendly/helpful. Downtown Des Moines has mostly app-pay parking; during April multi-tornados, all was well-safe. Bike paths everywhere, walking paths nearby, East Village is charming, Science Center/ballpark walkable. Neighborhood is newer with lots of younger denizens.

The pool was clean and comfortable. They kept the pool towels full. The hot tub was a it should be. Breakfast was always full and hot, and included pancakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage links, bacon (on one of the two days we stayed), pastries, juice, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, and hot or dry cereal. Housekeeping did a great job keeping things clean. Great place for kids and adults. Safe area and easy parking.

Candlewood is becoming my go to place when I need a pet friendly hotel. They have small studio rooms with a kitchenette, fridge, storage, and full sized bathtub. Generally reasonably priced they are perfect if you don't need a full service hotel. They do not have a restaurant, don't provide daily housekeeping, and are meant for extended stays. This Candlewood is tucked away on a frontage road. So it can be hard to find even with GPS. Once you get there it is quiet and peaceful. My two nights there I barely heard a peep. The front desk was just fine and adjusted my rate when I found a discrepancy. They have a 24 hour pantry that you can go pick up some snacks, drinks, or a microwave meal. There are other stores around if you need to pick up groceries and Doordash/Grubhub is happy to deliver if you don't feel like cooking or going out. Candlewood is pet friendly if you want to bring your cats or dogs. I need this as we show cats around the midwest. And having a nice sized room with kitchen and bath makes all the difference. I couldn't be happier with this location and would definitely plan to visit again.

Staff so pleasant and helpful. Terrible weather/unsafe driving conditions, so lack of restaurant was inconvenient the first night. Rooms have nice cooking space, however, and we utilized it the next night. Rooms clean. Love the J.R. Watkins bath/hygiene products. They smell great and were a treat to use. My only real complaint is the coffee. It was so not good and, unlike some other places, the coffee in the lobby/guest area was the same brand that was in the rooms. Personal taste I realize, but I will take my own if I'm back that way again.

We were getting tired of fast food so we chose Candlewood Suites so I could cook dinner. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook a steak dinner. After a quick trip to the excellent Hy-Vee Grocery store nearby we were all set. The room was clean, the bedding clean and comfortable. There is no breakfast served, but none was advertised. There was a large gym which I'll admit I didn't use. The location was excellent for us as we traverse I-80 heading west.

This was our last stop on the way back to North Dakota after our honeymoon on the east coast. The hotel staff was very welcoming and efficient. Our room was clean and very spacious. I have to laugh because I've noticed a few people complaining about no breakfast, well obviously they've never stayed at a Candlewood as breakfast and pools are against brand standards. I like the dvd rental options and the free laundry which was needed after a two week honeymoon. This will be my go to hotel if I stay in Des Moines area again.

We thought this was a great hotel - bathtub looked newly renovated. Great water pressure, storage around sink and nice deep sink. Refrigerator even has an ice maker! Enough real plates, cups, glasses and utensils for 2 people and a dishwasher (with detergent) for easy cleanup! Stove and microwave too and pots available. Room was very quiet and comfortable with 2 chairs plus a desk chair. Bed and pillows were all very comfortable too

We were very satisfied with our stay here. Clean and comfortable. The rooms are huge and very spacious and clean. Comfortable king bed and pillows! Appreciated the soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower and at the bathroom sink. Good hot breakfast options. Nice pool/hot tub alhough we didnt get to use due to pool closed for weather conditions. We will look forward to staying again!

My 1st choice in this area. Exemplary customer service has brought me back time after time & this review is long overdue. Anthony, Nik & Margaret are the perfect combination of friendly & efficient. Best of the best, Anthony especially has repeatedly gone above & beyond, and always with a smile. Rooms are spotless, bathrooms sparkling clean. Generous supply of bright white towels. Easily accessible outlets bedside & at the desk area for charging electronics. Password secured wifi w/great signal. Fridge/micro & in-room Keurig. Super comfortable bed with nice linens and I happily melted off to restful sleep on fat, fluffy pillows. Grounds nicely manicured & parking lot well lit so I felt safe, VIP to a solo lady traveler. Didn't use pool or exercise room, but both were inviting. I did use on site laundry room & was able to print off important permits for work at the business center. Standard continental is well tended & I appreciate he REAL oatmeal vs instant packets !!! I always leave out refreshed & know I will be back next time my travels bring me to DM :-D

We stayed here at the end of a 10-day road trip that included six other hotels. We were impressed with this hotel on all fronts. The room was not just clean but immaculate and so spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of options. The staff was friendly. Location was convenient and price was fair for what it offered. Highly recommend!

All the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. The room was super clean and quiet and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection, although not as much as other Holiday Inn Express & Suites we have stayed at.

Went to Des Moines from Minneapolis on a whim due to our daughter having a few days off from school. We stayed three nights. Overall this was a good stay. The rooms look to be recently renovated. There was plenty of storage in our two queen bed room and a nice place to keep luggage off the ground. I enjoyed the separate coffee bar that also had a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was clean. Breakfast is fairly good. They do offer some hot items, mainly eggs and sausage. They have more items on the weekends. There is a pancake maker, cereal, bread, bagels, muffins, oatmeal and warm cinnamon rolls. The fitness center is well equipped. My daughter enjoyed the pool immensely. It is not huge, but did the job and the pool towels were mostly well stocked. Hot tub is kind of small. Had some interesting experiences with one of the elevators when it became off balance due to kids jumping in it. The doors would only open on the ground floor. Thankfully the issue appears to be fixed. There are several restaurants within walking distance: Ruby Tuesday, Arby’s, Pizza Ranch, Culver’s, the Beerhouse. Overall, this was a nice, affordable stay in the Des Moines area.

We are never disappointed when we stay here. The young lady checking us in was very friendly as was the breakfast attendant. The room was very clean and quiet. Also, it is a safe place to stay. They are serving a "real" breakfast buffet. Several selections and four hot dishes plus a waffle maker. We had dinner next door at Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. Always have a great meal there. The hotel gives a free drink ticket per guest. We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Fairfield. The room was clean, quiet, and well-appointed—perfect for a relaxing night after a long day of travel. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast options were fresh and satisfying.

Close to airport. Friendly front desk. Comfortable and clean room. Typical chain hotel breakfast, but the coffee was ready early. The shuttle driver was really friendly amd helpful.

We checked into the Fairfield Inn and Suites and were cordially greeted by Wade, the Front Desk Rep. He was very helpful on giving directions and explaining the amenities that the Fairfield offered and when we got to our room, we found it very comfortable and very spacious. We ate breakfast the next morning and it was delicious! Lots of variety and again nice fold representing Fairfield. We checked out and had the opportunity o visiting with both managers, Wendy and Moran. They were both very personable and service oriented to their guests. Wendy carefully noted our room's need for additional soap and contacted Housekeeping immediately to address this shortage, Morgan went out of his way to review our stay and visit with us before our departure. We found him to be very positive and an excellent manager for the Marriott team. Overall our experience couldn't have been better!

We stay here every time we fly and have always enjoyed it. Clean and quiet. We like that there is a shuttle to the airport and you can leave your car at the hotel. All the other times we stayed the parking was free while on our trip, today they charged $40 for it which is still cheaper than the airport parking for the length of our trip. The cheapest lot at the airport is $7 a day. The hotel is conveniently located for the airport. Cold breakfast is served at 4 am and hot breakfast starts at 6am. Good coffee.

We were very happy with our stay. Hotel was clean, rooms including bathroom were clean and updated. Pool and hot tub were open and operational with pool towels provided. Around 10pm from our room, we could hear kids yelling from the pool. We called to the front desk to ask if the kids could quiet down and very shortly, it was quiet. Staff at front desk was very friendly at check in and out. Breakfast area was clean and breakfast options were good including hot breakfast. Overall, a great experience.

We stayed here on our trip from PA to CO. The location is awesome on the west side of Des Moines and easy on and off I 70. The staff was wonderful; very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Maybe the best part was the breakfast buffet. We have stayed at many properties that offer complimentary breakfast. We usually pass, but this was provided with such care that we sampled the offerings before getting on the road. It was delicious. You won't go wrong if you stop in to this property.

The Fairfield Inn was clean and in good condition, but starting to look a little old inside. I would rate our stay as safe, quiet, and clean. The hotel was also conveniently located (i.e., easily walkable) to several restaurants (including Culvers, one of our favorites). We would stay here again.

Traveling back to Iowa, we have stopped here before. This is a very nice facility. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, and excellent sleep quality. Quiet and no outside noise. Well maintained facility. you will not be disappointed in this Fairfield.

Location was great (lots of restaurant options and close to highway). Breakfast options were typical - - nothing special - bagels, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, biscuit and sausage. Our room was on the first floor by the end-of-hallway door. Bad news is that the first floor hallway smells like chlorine due to the pool. Good news, we were far enough away from the main gathering spaces that it wasn't very noisy. Carpets in hallway are a bit worn but our room was nice and, most importantly, clean. Only complaint was that the bath gel dispenser in the shower didn't work and that the very large population of geese made it very unpleasant/difficult to take advantage of the walking paths.

I was pleasantly surprised at the size of our room!! Had a kitchen and living area. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff was amazing. Definitely stay here again!

We stay at this property 3 to 4 times a year. Great location with many restaurants within walking distance. Sarah who works the front desk is always amazing, helpful and friendly. The only problem we ever have is getting housekeeping to refresh the room. We asked specifically for housekeeping but were skipped.

Nice, clean facilities at a reasonable price. It was nicer than I expected, considering how affordable it was. We were a party of two adults, and only stayed one night. We did eat at the breakfast bar provided by the hotel, and that was a good experience. The tables were wiped clean as soon as people left, so you knew you were eating at a clean table. There was a decent variety of foods- scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage links, fruits, oatmeal cups, yogurt station, variety of cereals with a gluten free option, and a variety of pastries and bagels. I'm sure I missed a couple of items, but it was an overall nice selection. Beverages available included milk, orange juice, apple juice, hot water to make tea, and coffee. The food and beverages were kept at an appropriate temperature, and everything was tasty. We went to downtown Des Moines for a concert at the Casey's Center. The Hyatt hotel was a few blocks or so away from the venue, with the added benefit of the skywalks that connected the hotel to other downtown businesses. We were able to walk the entirety of our route from the hotel to the Casey's Center through the skywalks. This was a huge benefit for us. It saved us so much time and headache by not having to deal with parking and traffic. Overall, it was a nice place to stay at an affordable rate.

The location can’t be beat and having a garage that allows unlimited access for 1 charge per day is great. Nice breakfast buffet and staff was friendly and helpful. The room, while large, was very dated. The shower had old, stained grout and it was a cramped area with the toilet. The curtains did not fully close, so the morning sun filtered right in. The coffee in the room was awful- but you could easily get coffee downstairs.

The breafast was very good. Nearby restaurants provide other meals. The room was comfortable and clean, spacious and well-furnished. Very comfortable. Parking is convenient, although not a bargain.

Room and bed were great. Pillows are extremely fluffy though I prefer a little more substance. Luckily, I was traveling alone so I was able to use all 4 pillows and didn't have to call for additional. Enjoy the free breakfast, makes mornings convenient. Wifi seems to be worse the further from the elevator lobby your room is. I was on a north facing room so cell service was adequate to use phone. Helpful staff and clean rooms.

Hotel is very conveniently located close to restaurants and bars, very walkable area that's only about a 5 minute walk from the Des Moines' Downtown Farmers’ Market. Room was very comfy and clean.

Absolutely beautiful building right near the river! The room itself is small but so cute and so comfortable. The blankets are soft and fluffy and the bed was really comfortable although on the more form side but that’s personal preference. The bathroom is really big for the size of the room! And provides so many soaps, shampoos and other little things you might need. The view was amazing at sunset. I loved the little detail of having the tv day welcome with my name on it! Breakfast had so many options, from a waffle station, to fluffy cheesy omelettes and some prepackaged snacks if you want a quick bite to go. Complimentary bottled water and coffee all day, great stay!

I loved the beds! The pillows were fluffy and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is a good size and the view of the river was really nice. Breakfast was good as was the coffee. I felt safe and comfortable.

Our room was awesome as we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite. What a great space!! Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Property and suite were clean and well maintained. Great location to visit Capitol bldg and Botanical Center. Highly recommend!
