10 out of 10. The penthouse takes up an entire top floor with a Jacuzzi and an amazing view. I was really impressed with the level of opulence and attention to detail. Dinner and breakfast were just as good with many options presented.

We loved EVERYTHING! From the Beautiful lights, stunning gardens, amazing views, the private Jacuzzi, the AMAZING fine dining, the massages, the complimentary champagne, the amazing breakfast!! We had a lovely spacious room with a large terrace and jacuzzi. The hotel is beautifully furnished, the outside spaces are very attractive and the food is excellent. My wife enjoyed the spa treatments and facilities. The staff are brilliant. We booked the hotel airport transfer, well worth the outlay.

Service was impeccable ! I felt like a queen from the moment I arrived. The suites are beautiful with comfortable beds , modern bathrooms and traditional decor . Our jacuzzi was very private and the surroundings very serene .

Beautifully furnished with antiques. Large room with separate sitting area and Jacuzzi on the terrace. Hyper friendly staff, great assistance with tours, sightseeing and arranging car transportation by the friendly hotel staff. Great restaurant with excellent meals and wine. Great full English breakfast. Honestly, cannot recommend with more enthusiasm. Try it!

Huge and well-appointed rooms/suites. Our suite (#15) not only had a large shower and soaking tub, but also a sauna downstairs plus a jacuzzi and pool w private patio! Extremely quiet and safe location. Numerous services, including airport transportation and an excellent restaurant. Highly r commended.

Stayed here for a night. Just to get away and this place is a gem. We were treated like royalty. The food was amazing. Afternoon tea is superb. At night I took a shower outdoors. Room had private deck with jacuzzi and shower. The grounds are emaculate. So many sitting areas. Spa treatments. ..food complimentary sherry and wine in the room

Fabulous hotel! All the staff were friendly and so attentive. We stayed for two days without leaving the hotel and it was treat after treat. We booked a suite and enjoyed our balcony with jacuzzi. Bathroom was large and very beautifully presented. Spa treatments (body scrub and hot stone massage) were wonderful. Breakfast buffet was of finest quality and you could choose from a hot menu too. We also enjoyed our casual lunch and dinner and I thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Loved having a fridge with complimentary drinks and fresh milk for tea. Lots of beautifully furnished lounges to sit in and an amazing fishpond. Didn’t use the small gym but it had a good range of equipment. Everything has been thought of. Can’t wait to go back!

The room was spacious and modern, including a lounge/kitchenette as well, both with a TV for Netflix. There is a small pool, but also an area of tables and chairs sitting in shallow water for reading a book and relaxing your feet at the end of the day. The Pablo restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to look after my bags before check-in.

We were looking for a nice hotel in a safe area, to spend 24-hours while waiting for our international flight. The Melrose Arch area was a pleasant surprise, and we felt safe to walk to restaurants and stores. The hotel is beautiful, the common areas are inviting and there were fresh flower arrangements everywhere (very classy). The room was super spacious and tastefully decorated. The breakfast buffet was artfully arranged and delicious, and the staff was extremally friendly and attentive. What a great place to stay!

Her warm spirit truly stood out, and I appreciated her attention to detail in noticing that it was my birthday the next day (18 July 2025). I had a wonderful stay at the African Pride Hotel in Melrose Arch. The rooms are absolutely beautiful—definitely not your standard hotel room. Stylish, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was out of this world—delicious, fresh, and with plenty of variety. The location is perfect. Melrose Arch is a vibrant and secure area, with great shops, restaurants, and galleries all within walking distance. It felt very safe to walk around and explore. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, style, and a great location in Johannesburg!

This place is absolutely fantastic, the staff are exceptional and cater for your every need with such a happy demeanour, the hotel bar headed by James serves cocktails to die for (espresso martini highly recommended) the breakfast is exceptional with both full buffet and individual menus and the food overall was superb. The rooms are stylishly decorated and have everything you need. Location is perfect too as it’s within walking distance of local bars and shopping. I will definitely stay here again, couldn’t recommend it more.

I had a wonderful stay! The manager, Chantel, kindly upgraded me to a jacuzzi suite. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to enjoy the jacuzzi due to my schedule, but the room itself was incredible! The layout and lighting were outstanding; every detail was thoughtfully considered, providing both comfort and a touch of luxury. I will definitely be returning! My husband and I went for a brief stay at Seven Villa. We had the suite with a jacuzzi. Awesome!! Very relaxing. My hat off to the chefs. I am vegan and the menu options were limited but the taste and quality of the food more than made up for it. Chef Percy at breakfast was a gem too. He went above and beyond to make sure I had good food. I was impressed 😉

The bed in the presidential suit is amazing! Literally felt as if I was melting into that bed, and I never wanted to wake up. Loved the heat level in the jacuzzi, too. Everything about this place was beautiful.

My husband and I loved everything about the hotel, all staff members are very friendly and welcoming, the welcome drinks we didn't even expect was a bonus, how the owner Mr Ndaba interact with his guests made us feel at home, the place is very clean, and rooms are luxury and eloquent, pictures on booking.com didn't do justice about the beauty of that place, very classy I will rate it 5 star hotel. The garden view during the day and the lighting at night was amazing, the dining near the pool and bar was a very relaxing place and we could go sit there and do some of our work peacefully, breakfast was well presented and delicious.I fell in love with the fishes on a fish pond, the experience to see colorful fishes play was amazing for me. The place gave us value for our money and we would really love to visit this place again very soon

We had the most wonderful stay at 24 on Basil Boutique Hotel last weekend! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the security team with a refreshing cold towel and a welcome drink—such a thoughtful touch. Check-in was seamless, and the manager was incredibly friendly and attentive. To our delight, we even received an upgrade, which we truly appreciated! The rooms were beautifully appointed, featuring a cozy living area, a well-equipped small kitchen, and a spacious bathroom with both a bath and shower. The towels were excellent, and every detail was well thought out. On our first night, we enjoyed drinks by the pool, which was absolutely lovely. The manager even popped around for a chat—he is extremely hospitable and made us feel right at home. While we didn’t have breakfast due to our own plans, we noticed the pool was sparkling clean, and the bar area was impeccably maintained. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic stay—nothing was too much trouble. This hotel is exceptional value for money, and we will most definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We were welcomed with the warmest of welcomes. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We really liked her. We had the emerald suite. The room was very spacious. Everything was nice, neat and clean. The garden is beautiful. Well kept lawn and koi pond and a little jungle gym for the kids to play on. The pool looked amazing but we couldn’t use it because of the weather. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. The decor and vibe is homely and cosy. I would definitely stay there and recommend it as well.

Some T.v channel did not work. Channels 201, 2013, 2014, 2015. Pricing was very confusing. Price quoted R1400. When I questioned this I was told it included breakfast. When I said I did not want breakfast, the price dropped to R 1000. Breakfast R400?????. Was asked to pay via booking.com which I did. Paid R1045 which included breakfast. When I asked if I could have breakfast, I was told it did not include breakfast. I had to explain that I paid for breakfast....a bowl of cereal.

The pictures definitely do not do justice to the place. It was amazingly breath taking, in a very quiet environment. A good place to rest and just unwind. The staff was exceptional in their service, very friendly and on point. The rooms are beautiful and clean and well ventilated. The view of the garden from my room was the perfect scenery one would love to wake up to in the morning.

It was incredible! An oasis in the middle of Johannesburg’s busy city. Felt like a home away from home. Magnificent garden with birds and a beautiful pond and gorgeous pool. Lovely balcony that overlooks the garden. Wonderful and kind team of staff who took great care of me and lovely breakfasts included in the stay. Amazing all round experience. I will be recommending to anyone and everyone I know going to Johannesburg. Gave me such peace of mind to come home to this space after crazy days on the streets of Johannesburg. So safe, secure, comfortable, elegantly staged rooms and much better than a boujie hotel in a busy city centre. It was a home away from home experience at an affordable price and with a team who treat you so warmly, like they are welcoming family back home to stay.

The accommodation is in the perfect location, the perfect gateway place to escape the city life. Our room was perfect, spacious, warm and we loved everything about the place. The staff welcomed us with warmth, we were assisted my Mellisa who made our stay so peaceful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ouklip and would like to thank Gloria, my host, and Jane, my room service assistant, for providing me with exceptional service. From the very first day, I felt comfortable and at home. As a stressed-out UNISA student, it was comforting to know that I could return to my relaxing room after a long day of practicals. I really loved staying at Ouklip because it's such a peaceful area. It made my stay even more enjoyable! Staff were very helpful and very nice. I love the lights in the room (but one wasn't working properly) The room was done up very nice and the hot tub was amazing just (the lighting and buttons on the hottub didn't work).

The place was very accommodating. Fit for two and exactly for leisure as the room catered for the bedroom environment. No tables no chairs but a comfty corner couch and a large bed. It is peaceful and extremely quiet for a breather. It's clean, warm and cozy. Ablutions? You get a toilet and a shower located in the same room in the just nearest door, no sharing . The entrance is eye catching as decorated with paintings that add style. Perfect for taking pictures. There's breakfast to kick start your day. Wanna catch up? There's television and a fast wifi, powerful enough to download a movie in less than 3 minutes. I loved that wifi. There's a fridge for those coolies so you're covered. Don't worry about lights out because there's power back up as soon as loadshedding kicks in. The stay was worth it 👌

The room was clean and tidy, the bed was extremely comfortable. It had a big screen smart TV which you could see through the glass window from the hot tub. The free wifi was a plus and the dinner we ordered was delicious. The room was exactly as the pictures showed.

On arrival the receptionist was warm and welcoming, we immediately felt at home. The family room was clean, neat and suitable for our needs. All staff that we interacted with was willing to help, polite and warm. My girls enjoyed the Netflix and free WiFi. The breakfast was well presented with staff in attendance to assist. The variety of options helped cater for all my family members needs and preferences. We loved our stay and we have already recommended to family and friends.
