Beautiful hotel in the center of Loja city. Exquisite decor and installations are immaculate. One of the best hotels I've stayed in Ecuador with a great price and 5 star service without breaking the bank. I highly recommend Grand Victoria Boutique Hotel; Staff is exceptional, and even though they are not bilingual, they still try their best to accommodate any inquiry. Truly an amazing place to lodge while in Loja city with beautiful pool, jacuzzi and sauna, bar and restaurant serving menu items and drinks are also great.

This old, charming hotel seems like from a different, grander era. It could use bit of upgrades. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here. It was quiet and all felt clean. If your room is too small, by all means ask for a larger room. We have tried a couple different rooms. Hotel has a pool and jacuzzi and is very well situated in the center of Loja, walking distance to most shops and restaurants. We had very good dinners at the hotel restaurant. Breakfast buffet was included in the room rate and the food was plentiful and tasty. Hotel staff tries to be nice and accommodating, though if you are not Spanish speaker it may be challenge sometimes.

Staff is first rate. So accommodating (we donut even speak Spanish yet they go out of their way to assist us and provide whatever we need). Food is good, although it is very rich (lots of sauces, red meats, etc). Fabulous freshly warm creme brûlée at the restaurant. Breakfast included is quite nice (and substantial) with eggs, fresh juices, coffee/teas, traditional corn meal dishes wrapped in yucca or banana leaves, Excellent fresh juices such as strawberry, blackberry, pineapple, etc Rooms do not have AC but we found a fan works just fine, quite comfortable at least this time of yr. Might be a comfort issue in summer for those of us not used to hot weather! Good housekeeping services. Excellent manager Luis who is Kindly attentive and goes out of his way to take care of guests.Rooms are a bit worn but clean and mostly quiet (they do have special events on and off which makes for some noise in evenings, but has been quiet form 10 pm onwards). They have next day laundry service for very cheap ($5) and free, reliable wifi.

The Grand Victoria is housed in a huge "Colonial" style old "Patio"-style building right off the central park of Historic Loja. The building is STUNNING as soon as you walk into the covered patio center. There is a wide variety of rooms. We got a room with 3 queen beds, which is something which can be difficult to find when you need it! As it is not unusual in In-city buildings which have building attached to both sides, some rooms may only have windows to the inside gallery or some little patios. The view to the rear may also be not so exciting. Rooms with street view would probably be "luxury"-suites The included breakfast was totally sub par for the quality and luxury level the hotel claims to be. I asked for fried eggs and was told "NO, only scrambled" pointing to the very limited buffet. We also had issues getting water out of our shower in the 3rd floor. I pointed that out to the front desk but there didn't seem to be much interest (the problem is known). The location is as centric a possible in Loja's Historic Downtown.

Cleanliness, friendly and professional staff, well appointed rooms, Restaurant in the hotel, daily breakfast buffet. Beautiful facility and walking distant to everything. Loja is a very beautiful city.

Everything was great !! The only thing wrong with the hotel was the showers in the pool change room and the shower at the pool. The water in these showers were ice cold and it was imposible to rinse off or clean oneself before entering the pool or the sauna, or the jacuzzi. I saw people that entered the pool for Sunday during the day and these day guests were filthy dirty and entered the pool filthy dirty and washed themselves off in the pool. This ice cold water in the showers around the pool and in the change rooms is a big problem and the pool is not clean enough and the ICE COLD SHOWERS ARE THE REASON WHY!!!

Stayed here three nights as part of a conference. We were upgraded to a small suite consisting of bedroom, sitting room and bath and a half. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Occasional street noise, mostly from the roosters crowing at all hours! Room was clean, comfortable, minimum decorated. Huge bath with twin sinks, shower only. Used both the restaurant and the lobby bar -- both met our needs. Would definitely stay here again.

The Sonesta has been renovated very tastefully- rooms are spacious and very comfortable with lots of amenities. The buffet breakfast was spectacular- excellent food and service. Within walking distance (5-10 minutes) to the center of town. Restaurants close by. Quiet neighbourhood.

This hotel is well-situated, away from the noise and road construction of downtown, but still within easy walking distance of downtown, restaurants, sites. The staff could not have been more accommodating, and there appeared to always be someone at the front desk who spoke some English. The hotel in general and our room were very clean and comfortable. Anything we needed (generally the coffee pods that housekeeping didn't leave) was provided within a matter of minutes from the time we requested it. The restaurant was clean, the food good, and the staff very pleasant. We would not even consider a different hotel in Loja.

The staff is amazing. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. Pool, the sauna and the gym are great. Breakfast is varied and delicious. Best hotel I have stayed in Ecuador I will definitely return next time I am in Loja

I stayed for business in Loja, the hotel was well located, good price for room and good taste for design. The restaurant has fair prices and delicious food. My only but, the weather of Loja is kind of cold, so I think that' s why they don't have A/c unit at the room, but at night I felt my room has no air to breath, then I have had to open the window a little bit, but then it was to windy, so I spent part of the night covering and uncovering the duvet, open and closing the window. By other side they need a small place to do some cardio, lift weight and small Jacuzzi will be a great difference. I recommend the place, i will come back for sure!

Large tastefully decorated and very clean comfortable rooms. We came for a week and selected Romar Royal because of the central location and services. We were not disappointed. The breakfast has everything you could wish for and eggs are cooked to order at the buffet. The staff are super helpful. The hotel does not have any exercise facilities or pool. Noise from some footsteps appears to readily transmit via the hard floors, especially at night, otherwise it is very quiet.

The staff treated us like royalty during our stay. First off, we had our flight cancelled and could not arrive until the morning after our reservation. The staff was very accommodating and held our room for us without charge and let us check in early the following morning, again without charge. A really welcome change from the stress caused by TAME airline. Anything we needed we received in a flash, and always with a smile. Clean, modern, and comfortable room. Bed and shower top notch. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

New hotel in the centre of Loja it is a ten minute walk to the city gate near to everything else lots of restaurants nearby but many were closed on the Sunday we arrived. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Good restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was very good as well.

What a excellent place to stay. Its a family run business and the host's are ever so friendly. The rooms and dining/breakfast area were absolutely spotlessly clean. We had dinner there and it was great. Also breakfast was very nice and great coffee. Bedroom and bathroom are the best we have seen in Ecuador. Also it's very quiet. No traffic noise. I would highly recommend this Hotel.

Breakfast was excellent. Mercedes is the best! She makes you feel like family. It is a great family run operation. Remi is so amazing. He does everything to make your stay enjoyable. Loved the solitude and river walks to the city center. No loud birthday parties or music like hotels in Central I stayed at. Six nights of blissful rest.

The staff were exceptional. Taking me into Loja centre to find the clinic for my yellow fever vax. Also joining in traditional family meals, i felt at home. It's surroundings very quiet, yet a short brisk walk or taxi ride to the many bustling plaza's. Comfy clean rooms finish it off. Oh, and secure parking for my motorcycle.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming, it felt like a home stay or a visit to some distant relative’s house rather than a stay at a hotel. The room was big and comfortable and the breakfasts were fantastic. This definitely ended up being one of our favorite stays in all of Ecuador.

The breakfast was generous: fruit bowl, eggs any style, fresh juice, good coffee. And they opened early at 7 or 7:30am. The wait staff was very attentive and super friendly. I was happy and ended up staying an additional 3 nights.

We enjoyed our stay at Loja bella. The staff was very nice and helpful, they offered an excellent service! We arrived at 7 am and they allowed us to enter the room and had a room prepared for us so we could rest after a long journey! The breakfast was also delicious and cheap! We would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for an excellent service for a fair price! In addition it is close to the center, less than 5 minutes walk! And it is located in a safe neighborhood.

The breakfast was pretty standard but nice and fresh. The bathroom is great. The shower has one of those waterfall shower heads and the hot water is plentiful. And I think the staff is wonderful. I plan to stay there whenever I am in town.

Beautiful 300+ year old historic building in excellent condition :) and good location. High ceiling rooms with authentic beauty and character. Wonderful food in the courtyard restaurant. Truly exceptional ! :) Resident family of little birds living in the hibiscus TREE in the high arching courtyard space. Best of all ..... Julia ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Receptionist and Manager Julia was an incredible help to me, with a lovely attitude of pleasure in giving service. In my case, I was struggling to find an a safe bus route crossing into Peru that did NOT include overnight hours. More difficult to find than one might think.... Julia kindly applied her intelligence and competent understanding to find a solution. She found a bus company with day routes and recommended a lovely hotel for my overnight stay enroute. Thanks to Julia's assistance, I had a most calm, pleasant and beautiful journey back to Peru, where I am now taking residence. Thank you, Julia ! Thanks also to the talented chef :) Who introduced me to several delicious tradional dishes PLUS created the most delicious cupcake I have ever tasted ! :) !

This property is quite unique, very much like stepping back in time. All sorts of memorabilia dotted all around, with a beautiful central atrium which houses the restaurant. Our room was generous in size overlooking the atrium which meant it was quiet at night. The restaurant serves up very good food. The staff were very helpful assisting us with cancellations due to road closures.

free coffee and bottled mineral water...I arrived at seven in the morning after a dreadful bus ride from Quito that took16 hours and they gave me a room with only a one day charge...very attentive staff

The only reason I'm giving this place a '4' is because breakfast was served 20 minutes late. We showed up at exactly the time we were told that breakfast was to be served. My friends, plus others in the reception area, made for a total of 7 hungry people waiting for breakfast to be on time. Otherwise: very cordial reception, professional staff. Most important for me: a spacious room, immaculately kept hotel, and a large, comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again: it is the best place I have seen in Loja so far out of about 20 nights of staying in Loja hotels over the past 15 years. Provide breakfast on time and this place gets my highest marks!!

My partner and I stayed in Hotel Libertador for 10 days. At first we were given a (noisy)room overlooking the street but when we asked for another one, we got a quieter one. Both rooms were very large and really nice and comfortable. We found the buffet breakfast excellent and the staff serving in the restaurant pleasant and helpful. We left to continue by bus to Peru. I asked if we could have a late check-out, as the bus didn't go until 11pm at night. The charming manager not only agreed to let us stay in our room until 10pm (!!) for no extra charge, but she also called a taxi for us. This is what good hotel management is all about and is why we would definitely go back there.

The woman who checked me in was very warm and friendly. She gave me information about the room and where breakfast would be served. The hotel is in a perfect location in the center of town. The room was big. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything I needed. Breakfast was quite sumptuous with a bowl of fruit with cereal and yogurt, and then a plate of eggs, an empanada and a piece of toast was served. I'd come here again on my next visit to Loja.

Excellent location; walkable. The receptionists were excellent and very helpful. The bell boy Angel was excellent! He did his best to always speak English to us and to help us with maps, etc. Our room was perfect. We had a buffet breakfast which was wonderful. We would definitely stay there again.

We visited Loja in January for a couple weeks. We had no reservations the first night and they were booked, but accommodated us with "ok" rooms. They offered us better rooms the following couple of nights. Lesson is: make reservations in advance. However: Nice, clean and spacious rooms. Staff very friendly. Breakfast is very good. We needed dinner on a Monday night and were pleasantly surprised! Excellent value overall.

Our stay at La Casa de Manuel was perfect. This boutique hotel is unique with three floors and a rooftop terrace carefully curated with furniture and art. The room is a great size with its in-room sitting area, and it has a very comfortable bed. The city traffic quiets down around 11:00 p.m. for a good night's sleep. There is an additional seating area right outside the room and we were encouraged to use the rooftop terrace for relaxing and for attending hotel planned events such as movie nights with discussion, a concert, and a comedy show. All staff were friendly and helpful, but Cristhian is the absolute best concierge we have ever had. He greeted us warmly, helped us navigate the city, suggested great dinner spots and went above and beyond all expectations by anticipating our needs. We highly recommend La Casa de Manuel, Casa Boutique.

I have stayed in La Casa de Manuel already a couple of times and it never disappoints. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is always super friendly and the breakfasts are delicious! Will totally recommend it for short or long stays in Loja. The location of the hotel as well is super-centric, and quite easy to access in walking distance to many restaurants and main attractions.

My adult daughter and I stayed at this hotel during a recent visit to Loja. The staff was extremely helpful during check-in. What makes them exceptional is that after check out, they placed our baggage in a safe area, so that we did not have to lug it around town during our final day's appointments. The hotel is centrally located near the beautiful town square. My daughter and I were comfortable walking the streets, markets and parkways near the hotel. Our room was modestly appointed, but very comfortable. The private bathroom was clean, with small amenities like soap and lotion provided. The shower had unlimited hot water, which is a luxury for economy hotels. Breakfast in the private dining room was delicious. We were served our choice of hot egg dishes, as well as items from a sideboard buffet. Hot fresh coffee was a real treat, rather than the ubiquitous Nescafe' served nearly everywhere. FREE WI-FI created my souvenir of this stay, as I have locked the Wi-Fi access into my device as a nerds status symbol. Every time I see it on my list of servers, I smile.

This is a no frills hotel. The single room is very small, but it was clean and very cheap. TV works, stations are in Spanish of course, but there is an option with the "audio" button on the remote to change it to English if you prefer (some stations). Central location, felt very safe, even at night. Grocery store around the corner (sells beer and liquor as well (puerta del sol). Check in and out was easy, couldn't get the wifi to work but I didn't ask. Less than $2 cab ride (like $1.50) to the terminal terrestre. Room has a safe, I didn't use it but looks easy. Keys for the door are electronic. There is hot water in the shower. I paid $25 for one night plus about $2.50 tax. If it's just for a day or two and you're not fussy, I recommend it. Breakfast was simple but tasty, a variety of breads and jam, juices and coffee, and eggs prepared as you like them.

I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt safe. The rooms were clean and had soap, shampoo and body wash. Not fancy but it was all we needed. My kids liked the glass elevator. Our room had a fridge and small balcony. The breakfast had coffee, tea, bread, yogurt, cereal, juice, cheese and freshly made scrambled eggs. Simple but ok.

Very good location within a short walk of many of the central city venues. The hotel has a newer elevator to all room levels. This makes this hotel friendly to those with disabilities. The breakfast was basic. Juice, bread and butter, rolls, fruit, yogurt and coffee. The staff was helpful. The rooms were a good size and kept clean. Lots of hot water in the shower. Noise level very low. I would stay again.
