I’m definitely down to give this hotel five stars. I’ve stayed a lot of places across this country, Mexico and Canada, and this is one of my favorite hotels. We got a room with a jacuzzi and it’s one the cleanest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel has an awesome pool AND hot tub.. and if you travel much, you know that hot tubs are hard to find since Covid started. The front desk attendant, Jennifer, is AMAZING. She totally hooked us up. She’s been treating us like we’re the only guests in the hotel. There’s also a pretty sick game room that has a couple of pinball machines, a racing game, air hockey, Pac-Man and a few others. All of the games and vending machines work perfectly… which is also hard to find. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. I’d wait to review the hotel until after breakfast in the morning, but I’m sure it won’t change my mind. Side note: the Driftwood Motel Restaurant and Sports Bar is nearby and has fantastic service and food.

This hotel was exactly what it says it is…conveniently located, clean, and for us it was budget friendly, as we could all stay in one room but still have some space. We got a 3 room suite for our family of 4. The room was immaculately clean. Beds were comfortable. It was quiet, A/C worked great, and the living room area was spacious. My older son slept on the couch, not pulled out, and was comfortable. I did not use the exercise room but did pop in for water several times and it was nice and cool…some hotels keep their exercise rooms far too warm but not here. Breakfast was adequate…it was what I expected. We were all able to find something. They had hard boiled eggs in the fridge along with mini yogurts, and then your standard continental breakfast items (cereal, bagels, make your own waffles, and fruit one of the two mornings we stayed). Staff we interacted with (front desk) was adequate as well…did their jobs, no more, and no less. Checked us in and offered no additional info other than telling us where our room was at, but anytime we had a question, they answered it (i.e. are ferry tickets available there, what time does breakfast end). This was fine with us. We wanted clean (it was SO clean), convenient, quiet, and breakfast included. This place delivered and we would stay here again.

This hotel was wonderful!They had the best price for our small budget.2 beds room was very clean.Comfortable bed with pillows.Bathroom was very clean too.Hotel is pet friendly also and charges only $10 per pet which was so nice.I asked when booking for room on the first floor because of the dogs and they gave us first room by the back door which was perfect.They offer breakfast every morning.There are plenty of options for everyone.Cereal with milk, yoghurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels,frozen waffles to toast or you can make your own fresh one.They also had apple sauce, fruit in syrup cups,coffee machine,hot chocolate machine.We didn’t use their game room but my husband took our 3 years old son to the pool every day.It’s not too deep which was great.Our room had lake view .We were on the first floor.The balcony was nice with chairs and table.On Sunday we could see perfectly fireworks from the balcony.They have an area with grass and bag stations for picking up after your pet.Location of the hotel was wonderful.Ferry dock right across the street.We didn’t have to use our car for 2 days at all since we took ferry to Mackinac Island.People at front desk were very nice .Check in was very easy.The lady that worked that night told me about fireworks and I enjoyed watching them from our balcony.Check out process was easy too. I asked to go with me to inspect the room since we had pets and everything was great.I will recommend this hotel to everyone who decides to travel to Mackinac

This place exceeded my expectations. I didn’t think that this hotel chain would be particularly nice, but it was great. The staff members were extremely friendly, the pool was nice, good breakfast, clean room, and clean common areas. Quick walk to Shepler’s Ferry Service to get over to Mackinac Island. Walking distance to a small beach where we saw a great fireworks display for the 4th of July. We could have watched the fireworks from our hotel balcony if we wanted to stay in, and it still would have been nice (we just thought that the beach was more fun).

The location was perfect for our trips over to Mackinac Island... just a quick drive to the ferry. The hotel was very nice- it is older and a little outdated, but still well-kept and clean. Our room was perfect- we had a beautiful view of the lake with our balcony view. Beds were clean and comfortable and the room was super spacious! The beach was nice... could be cleaned up a bit and spruced up with a little maintenance, but overall nice and beautiful views!!

We loved our entire visit. The place is adorable -- clean, every room has a lake view, the park-like front yard was perfect with lawn games and lounge chairs. HUGE thanks to the staff! They were fabulous and so helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Breakfast was great -- a typical continental breakfast with all the usuals (cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, juice). My kids loved the pancake machine! The indoor pool was exactly what the kids needed after a day of driving. And the Mexican restaurant next door was fantastic. Many thanks! We'll be back the next time we're passing through town.

Handicap Notice: ask for room 250 if in a wheelchair (please only ask if in a wheelchair) my mom is 100% wheelchair dependent and this room was amazing! Plenty of room, not only by the bed but in the bathroom! And if you ever travel with someone who needs help in a bathroom you know this is a big deal! Two of us plus the wheelchair were easily able to fit! Yes this hotel on the outside and in the halls looks dated. The room was AMAZING! Bed and bedding new and clean clean clean! Never once saw a speck of dust in the room! All rooms faced the lake, lots of fun things to do on the lakeshore. Side note my mom was able to get out onto the balcony in her wheelchair! The ladies in the office were also so friendly and amazing!

I really enjoyed staying here but it was a lot about the location and having the patio area. This hotel is lakefront and you can walk along the grass to the little beach area. I just walked it but I saw swimming and kayaking going from here. The rooms are dated as some have said but they were also cozy. I had a desk to use and the bed was comfortable enough. Places to sit besides a bed are a must for me. What made this place really great is we had an east facing first floor room with a patio and chairs which made it amazing to get up and watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee. This was a great addition to my vacation. The room was clean and near a side entrance that we could park and get to our rooms easily. Breakfast was provided but a basic hotel type of fare. It is the views and patio that make me want to return.

The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and the entire motel was very clean. They had horseshoe pit, corn hole (2), hammocks, beach chairs, kayaks, a playground, and grills along the lakeshore. There was a nice indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast had a large selection of foods and was kept stocked for the entire 2 hours.

We were upgraded when we checked in. We had a wonderful king-sized room with a jacuzzi & walk out patio! It was a perfect ending to our vacation!! The staff were very friendly and helpful!! The bed was comfy and the room was spotless!!

It was an amazing stay in the office season. We stopped for the view in the morning, the manager Michelle gave us an amazing upgrade to the Jacuzzi tub. Definitely recommend

Excellent pool and hottub area. The hotel is flashy, but it has charm.

Loved the king suite with spa bathroom, it was pretty and a great price for having a jacuzzi.

Best Western is nothing if not consistent. Room, bed, pillows, towels, etc. were standard Best Western fare (which is why I prefer Best Western when I travel). The room was large, clean and comfortable. It was right on the lake and I was able to walk on the beach for some much needed exercise after my long drive. The property is within walking distance of many, many local restaurants and shops. The hotel was full of a girl scout convention of sorts and you wouldn't have known unless you visited the pool. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was good and hot with something for everyone. The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating.

This hotel was absolutely adorable and the perfect jumping off point to the island. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and great location. Will definitely stay again.

The location is amazing. Its right on the main strip. Right across from the Star Line ferry drop off dock. We were on the third floor with a harbor view. It was gorgeous. It had a balcony, but you cant use it. That was disappointing. The in-hotel restaurant had great breakfast that is totally big enough to share. The service was amazing and the staff are very friendly. They even allowed us to check-in over two hours early.

This hotel is amazing! Staff is friendly, rooms are very clean, they have a Mexican restaurant on lower leave open until 4, fudge shop right when you walk in, a pool on 2nd level and it’s perfect walking distance of everything. We took Sheplers Ferry from St.Ignace and something I learned was- Whatever time you arrive morning/afternoon/evening. A staff member at Murray hotel will take your luggage. They will keep it at the hotel and once your room is ready they will put it in your room. That way you can start exploring the island without hauling your luggage everywhere. You will not be disappointed booking with Murray and we will definitely be back!

Property was right on main street which is very convenient to restaurants and shops and ferry terminals . This also makes the area busy though so if you like very quiet I would choose an area to stay away from the crowds on main street instead . The room was very nice and staff was amazing . Spa / pool was not working properly so we didnt get to use it which was a disappointment for us . I would suggest calling ahead when making reservations to confirm it is working if this is a major thing for you but the private sun deck is a nice getaway.

Older but full of charm. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Suprisingly with how many rooms i walked past to get to mine i didnt hear much at all in the hall. The halls are a bit narrow heads up. They have a hot tub on the second floor that is outside. Unique flavored fudges in the lobby,and a restraunt that you can purchase breakfast and lunch at. A pleasent stay and looking forward to staying here again.

Very Nice stay. Went in and needed a room for three nights. The employee was very accommodating and we booked a King Suite with a Jacuzzi. Very nice large room, clean and comfortable beds. Very quiet too. Sheplers shuttle service to/from the Ferry was quick and easy. Will definitely stay there next visit! Just a couple of suggestions, microwave in the rooms would be a big plus, along with fresh coffee in the Lobby. Also, cleaning the former breakfast room would be nice too.

Pros: Clean rooms, staff was very friendly and helpful when we forgot our keys in the room. Affordable and in a great area close to attractions, dining, and shopping. Pool inside a greenhouse-style building and was very clean with towels provided. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the area was quiet and felt safe. Playground on-site as well. Cons: Slightly dated rooms, and our shower drain was pretty clogged up since it didn't have a hair catch of any kind (it took about 10 minutes to drain after each shower).

Stayed two nights. Conveniently located and fairly quiet. Spacious clean room. Amenities included coffee maker, microwave and minifridge (although the latter was overcooling even on the lowest setting). Comfortable beds and pillows. Well lit desk area. Sink located outside of the bathroom, with missing stopper. Shower with good water pressure. Wifi worked well. Easy parking. No breakfast.

I met my family in Mackinaw City. They stayed on the water for $250+ per night. I was traveling solo and found Thunderbird Inn less than 1 minute from all the shopping and lake views. Under $100/night, single room. The room was clean, had bathing supplies, lots of storage, table, vanity, heat lamp in bath, TV and ...hands down... the best breakfast available! No bagged breakfast with an apple and water, but fresh waffles, bagels, breads, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juices, coffees (plus coffee in your room!) and a friendly staff and good-natured neighbors. Very impressive and cost effective. Pass the word...Thunderbird! 👍

Clean clean clean! Clean is very important to me. No complaints at all. Great staff. Pool and sauna, we did not use but checked out. Also clean. Towels by pool. Extra blanket asked for and got right away. Air/heat worked good and was not "too" loud. Would stay here again with no qualms. Good breakfast, lots of variety

Hotel was great. Front desk staff was friendly, beds were so comfortable, room was a little dated but shower was great. I recommend this hotel when visiting the St Ignace area. Pool was heated and clean. Breakfast: get there early and coffee was wonderful. Definitely will stay again when in the area.

This place is conveniently located, on the same street as most popular restaurants and other hotels. It very much reminded me of the Howard Johnson motor lodge we would stay in years ago. Some of the towels are older some of the finishes are older, but it is just a really well cared for property. Sheets, towels, the entire room was very clean. Everything is in good working order, there is ice, and vending. If you’re traveling from far away, this motor lodge is very safe and in a safe town :-). Both the gentleman that checked us in and the gentleman that checked us out were very friendly and efficient. We really liked our stay here, we slept well, and we would definitely return!

Beds were comfortable. A little noisy by the pool but appreciated the separate bedroom for our granddaughter. Pool and hottub were fine.

They gave us a free upgrade to a king bed and jacuzzi. That was awesome. We have stayed here before and like the fact that it is right across the street from the Lake and you can see the Mackinaw Bridge from some rooms.

Great room. View was great too. Location plus. Nice room with comfortable furniture! Only issues were breakfast. Lukewarm coffee and a skinny granola bar...that area was not clean and trash had not been taken care of either. Hard to call that a breakfast. Desk did cheerfully give us extra coffee pods when asked. Towels and sheets were very nice. Deco nice too!

Our room was clean, the staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The wifi actually worked and never had a problem with our room keys. It's located across from the Mackinaw Bridge and within walking distance to The Mackinaw City tourist shopping area. Overall our stay met our expectations and would recommend it to anyone that wants clean, comfortable and friendly staff.

Management wouldn't discuss a partial refund because it was booked on Expedia.

Booked a Lakeview room, definitely delivered. Actually had an in-room jacuzzi as well, which was an unexpected plus. Room also came with a refrigerator and microwave, which is rare these days. Within walking distance of a ferry to mackinaw island. It was a good room, for a good rate, in a good location with friendly, professional staff. Would recommend and book again

Tickets available at front desk. Very friendly, great location, made fire on beach, roasted marshmallows. Very clean, no bad smells, very comfy!

We had a beach front view with the most wonderful sunrise. The warm breakfast was very nice for the start of the day. Much prefer that type of breakfast than coffee and doughnuts. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Would stay here again!

Liked the in room jacuzzi, perfect location

Booked a king with jacuzzi, there was good and bad with our stay. Good: jacuzzi tub, bedding, bathroom, and living space seemed cleaned(minus the cobwebs in the light in the bathroom), location was perfect, and nice sandy beach. Bad: bed was extremely hard, the room had a distinct smell kinda musty, tv remote had a mind of its own, more of a motel feel then hotel, no dirty laundry bags, breakfast was at completely different hotel and wasn’t appetizing. We would probably not stay again because of the bed, neither of us got any sleep and left with a sore back.

We ended up staying for 3 nights on our road trip- due to rain - we waited to go to the island! When we checked in we asked for lakefront- those were booked- they offered a bigger room for upcharge- we took it and enjoyed having more room! The place was clean- pool and hottub great after all the walking- convenient on the strip and safe!! Raquel was great assisting us!! Highly recommend

Check in was great but the room was not clean, jacuzzi tub was broke, there was a spider in the tub, change still on the floor and the blacket had blood stains. We had our own blankets from home luckily that we were able to use. Very disappointed and complete waste of our money, just sad as it was a trip with my child that had to stay in this room too.

I loved this property so much! The log cabin was spacious and perfect for my trip to Mackinaw City. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious, and the staff were kind and helpful. The map of the city was also very helpful, and the location could not have been better. I was walking distance to everything, and got to watch the sunrise by the water every morning.

The location was perfect for the remainder of our trip home. The late night check in was very helpful and the pleasant person at the desk was so helpful and welcoming. The room was very clean, well stocked with linen and comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good night sleep and stay.

Absolutely everything! The location was perfect to get on the ferry. It was clean! It was quaint, the other travelers staying there were even friendly, we had a fantastic time at the water park, pool, and hot tub and my kids are 16 and 17yo, perfect location to get to the bridge to get to upstate Michigan and into Wisconsin, low to no traffic, close to the “downtown area”, simple, homely, comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful with any questions.

the room was good sized and the bathroom had a whirlpool bathtub which was good to have after a day walking around Mackinaw island. the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very pet friendly. the location was perfect, downtown , and the ferry were all well with in walking distance of the lodge. I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive after I read some of the reviews, However but this place was a great value for the money. when we come back this will be the place we use

Excellent location, walking distance to downtown, spacious and clean cabin, but shower neglected, all coking black and moldy. I brought Clorox and sprayed the whole shower inside to get rid it. It worked like a charm.

We had a jacuzzi and fire place in our room just wished the controller for the tub was closer to the tub and wished the fireplace actually worked

Well, we were expecting breakfast because it said serving breakfast but all they serve was muffins and coffee no eggs or bacon or sausage pancakes like we normally would get it a hotel. If they’re not gonna serve breakfast, then they should bring their rate down. They said since Covid they don’t serve, but Covid is over with so they should go back to serving breakfast because some people just eat breakfast and go on the road and don’t eat until dinner because the breakfast ties you over all day. So now we have an extra expense to buy breakfast because people just don’t want muffins for breakfast and I don’t even drink coffee.

If you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a nice place to rest your head that’s inexpensive, this is it. We stayed in room 125. Yes, it’s an older place that needs updates (wallpaper in the bathroom, outdated flooring in the bathroom) but considering that, we enjoyed our stay. If you're looking from an aesthetic viewpoint, you may be disappointed, The bedding was clean, the bed was cozy and the pillows are very soft, Hot water from the shower and a toilet that flushed, Clean towels/wascloths/hand towels. We had a small hiccup with the TV but the front desk staff remedied it. The AC worked well. They have a lovely gray plank vinyl/laminate flooring throughout the room. There’s a mini fridge too that serves its purpose. We had a lake front balcony room which was very nice. I’ve been to other hotels here in Mackinac City where their balcony’s were simply nasty. The balcony is spacious, two clean chairs and a small table. Large enough for our dog to roam around and find a nice place to relax as well. This place is in perfect walking distance to everything.

Breakfast is a packaged muffin and Coffee. Towels were large and clean. New vinyl plank flooring was nice but my bare feet picked up the dirt which I cleaned in the shower/tub that drained slowly. Bed was comfortable. Had an issue with the tv, but their tech guy got it working for us. We didn’t use the pool but it looked nice. It’s super close to the Arnold’s Ferry dock and the motel gives a discount. Supposedly the Shepler’s shuttle will pick you up too. Overall it was not a deluxe stay but we saved enough money to eat the buffet at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

The staff was friendly. It was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We had a great view of the water and a nice beachfront area. There was a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and hairdryer in the room.

Our primary consideration, beside location, is cleanliness. This, the Bear Cove Inn got right. The room was really cool, ultra-kitschy, and CLEAN. The room was smallish, but not so small we could not sleep there! The bathroom was smallish, and the floor had a slight tilt toward the shower, but it was CLEAN, and the shower was good. Clean, well-lit, even though a smallish hotel room, felt nice. Hit just the right spot for us, for a night in between other activities in the area. The owners, by the way, are really friendly folks! Just to get a sense of our perspective, price was not a factor for us, and hanging out with "expensive" people is not a goal for us - what we value is clean, quiet, good sleep, good beds, etc. We're there for really two purposes only - to sleep and bathe.

Loved this Gem. Great location. Amazing themed rooms. Super clean. Good sized fridge along with microwave and coffee maker. They have thought of everything. Amazing walk in shower. A perfect place for a getaway. The folks were super friendly. Highly recommend.

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice. Although there was no breakfast, there were a coffee maker, a refrigerator and a microwave, so we could eat breakfast in the room. Each room has its own theme, ours was the bear den - fun! I had a flat tire on a small car which needed to be replaced before we could drive back home. Rather than letting me drive 50 miles on the temporary spare to pick up a new tire which had to be ordered, Bob took me in his pickup in the morning to get the new tire. Unbelievable service from local owners.

Check in and checkout was exceptional and very friendly. The room was a relaxing up north experience with unique lighting and decorating. The bathroom was updated and very clean. The little kitchenette area worked well and I loved the convenience of pulling right up to the entry door in my car. The restaurant they recommended in town was also excellent and very accommodating for gluten free. I would highly recommend a stay at this motel for the experience in the room itself. Great location too for a short or long stay in St. Ignas.

The manager was cheerful and helpful with choosing a restaurant for dinner, and directing us to the Island ferry. The room was clean and comfortable. Coffee was provided with a real carafe coffeemaker and real ceramic mugs. We would certainly stay here again.

This a great hotel in the perfect relaxing spot on Mackinac Island. The staff at the front desk, Hallie and Chloe, offered great suggestions and were always kind and helpful no matter whom they interacted with. The communication from the hotel before and during our stay was via text and exceptional. My messages through a third party app (booking) were answered usually within minutes but always inside of an hour. We rented bikes from Maxwell and another very kind man in front of the hotel. There were fires in the fire pit every night and a jacuzzi out back to relax in. The hotel arranged for our ferry tickets that we picked up from the main dock with ease and the porters are amazing getting our luggage to and from the hotel so we didn’t have to. Mackinac is a magical place made better by this wonderful hotel and staff. (Just as a note the rooms and bathrooms are small but we spent only sleeping and changing time in them so it was just fine for myself and my spouse.)

What a beautiful hotel! It had been a while (10+ years) since we had stayed here, and i am pleased to say that the quality and attention to detail have only increased! We had the privilege of taking my parents for their 60th wedding anniversary. Both sets of rooms were incredible. Both were on the 2nd floor, with theirs having a view of the marina. Clean and comfortable! The highlight, for us, is the porch. Even in a heavy downpour in the morning, we were able to sit and watch the storms roll in and out. Rocking chairs, and table/chairs make the porch inviting, and is perfect for people watching! It's also a good place for the guys to wait and take a nap while the girls are in town shopping! Dinner one night was at the 1852 Grille Room. Again, an excellent choice. We had 9 for dinner (reservations required), with varying food tastes. Each meal was perfect, from the fish to pasta to burgers to appetizers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Thank you again for a great and memorable weekend for my family!

The property is so comfortably remodeled, and is kept immaculately clean. Everyone of the staff members is extremely friendly, professional and always has a smile on their face. The restaurant 1852 is beyond the best on the island. Everything we had was made to perfection and was artistically presented. The Icehouse for lunch in the back garden is also wonderful. Island house is only a short block to the beginning of the shops. Along the way are the art museum, the fort and the grocery store is the first shop. The view from the Island house is beyond compare being just across the street from the marina. Sitting on the porch and rocking and just watching the horse and buggies and people go by are so relaxing. A couple of our suggestions are being addressed by the Island house: a grab bar for getting into the bathtub which can be asked for at the front desk as well as toiletry containers that are easier to squeeze. We will always choose Island house.

Island House Hotel was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Every interaction with staff was positive, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cheery. We loved the veranda porch in front that looks out over the lake. Plenty of chairs were available to use while we relaxed and took in the views. The pool and hot tub area were clean and well kept. Upstairs rooms can be accessed using stairs or the elevator. Hallways have stairs where the original building transitions to an addition. If stairs are a problem for you, make sure you request a room easily accessed. We would highly recommend staying at Island House Hotel if you are visiting Mackinac Island.

We had a Wonderful stay here. The hospitality and customer service are amazing! Great friendly, helpful staff everywhere on site. We chatted and made friends with many guests in the lobby and relaxing on the front grounds. Our room was updated nicely, and luggage service from dock to hotel and back to ferry upon departure was timely. We dined for dinner and breakfast at the onsite 1825 restaurant and the food and service 10 out of 10. We will stay again! Thank you for a memorable 40th anniversary trip to the island 💙

I was very impressed with the room. There must have been some remodeling, the floor was beautiful, the room was larger than most hotels, there was a small couch at the foot of the bed that allowed my hubby and I to sit together and watch tv, which was nice as you usually have to sit on the bed to do that. They had all the amenities including a Keurig in the room and a couple of tv trays so you could sit your drinks on them. That bathroom and clean and well maintained with a very good shower. Wifi could have been upped a bit but it worked while we were there. The bed was very comfortable. An excellent place to stay, comfortable and priced very reasonably. Beautiful flower garden all around.

Adorable little family owned roadside motel. Our room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. It was also very nice that there were plenty of USB ports and a desk to work at. The bathroom was pretty tiny and the shower was a bit tight, but had everything we needed and we were very happy with our stay. Additionally, the owner was super friendly and helpful. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great location across from a lighthouse and the beach , wonderful staff. I arrived after 3 days of primitive camping in the UP and was ready for a real bed and a shower. I arrived prior to check in and they let me into my room early. Kevin was amazing and even backed out my car for me since I was in a tight spot. The hot tub and pool were great. This was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. I love animals but have been in too many hotels where loud barking kept me up through the night, so I was glad this was a pet free hotel. The coffee for the single serve coffee maker was very good. The soap had a lovely lemon scent. Stairs are difficult for me so I requested a ground floor room and they were able to accommodate that request. Overall it was clean, comfortable, affordable and I felt safe there as a solo traveller. I hope I have a chance to stay there again for a longer visit. Again, many thanks to Kevin for his helpfulness.

I was going to book a room at the Super 8 next door, but after reading multiple reviews of wet carpet and musty smells, I decided to take a chance on the Lighthouse View Motel instead. This motel got better reviews and it was still the location that I was looking for near the bridge and fort. We only stayed one night while passing through to the U.P. but I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was recently updated. Our room has new bedding and furnishings. Upon arrival in the time of Covid, the window was open to prove that they cleaned and aired the room out between guests, which was reassuring. The bathroom is older, but it's clean, no mold, nice water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. The location is great. You can walk across the street to view the bridge, go to the beach, or tour the fort. It's a short walk into town for bars and restaurants.

I can not say enough about this motel. I was skeptical booking a private owned motel due to staying at chains. This motel was amazing! Great location across from the lighthouse, bridge and park. Just around the block from restaurants and shopping. The room was bigger than most rooms. It was modern with USB plugs, satellite tv. The beds were comfortable and had a variety of pillows. The shower was great too. The ice machine always had fresh ice. The pool and hot tub blew us away. It was indoors and crystal blue. Towels were available to use. Everything we came across was clean. You can tell they take great pride in their hotel. Checkin/out was a breeze. Cant wait to stay there again. Highly recommend. You won’t be sorry.

Nice room it did have a refrigerator & microwave which was not listed when I booked -wish I would have known . The bed was comfortable. The pool was a bit chilly. The hot tub felt good after returning from biking around the Island. Nice location although because of the trees you can't actually see the light house- a short walk across the street to view and a great view of the bridge. The coffee maker was missing the part you slide the coffee in so unable to make coffee. Nice location we were able to ride our bikes to the ferry.

Fabulous! We can't say enough about our stay. First, the staff Martin, was EXCEPTIONAL!!! When booking this reservation, I entered the incorrect phone number. Our arrival time was later than expected but Martin stayed open to assure we were still coming. He held a different cabin for us, which was not on the beach, but 20 steps away, at a cheaper rate. He even included a roll away bed in our cabin. We were thrilled! The cabin was perfect! Extremely clean, beds very comfortable, lots of towels, a table with chairs for our traditional nightly Yahtzee games, a small frig for our cooler items. It was perfect. The property is extremely well maintained, very clean, beautiful flowers, fire pits on the beach with lots of beach seating. And a view of the bridge (in the distance) as well as the Grand Hotel and the fort on Mackinac Island. In addition, the facility offered discount tickets to the Mackinac ferries, which were offered at check-in and added to our bill. PLUS a shuttle to the ferry in the morning so you don't have to pay for parking. We can't say enough good things about the Beach House! Have recommended it several times since arriving home.

Cozy RUSTIC, individual cabin directly ON THE BEACH. We had a small porch with chairs to sit and look at the view of the Mackinaw Bridge, and Mackinaw Island. The beach was lovely and only a stone's throw to the water. There was the ability to bring your own wood for a bonfire on the beach. The room was very comfortable and very clean. Loved having a couch and small kitchen cubby with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Mathew was friendly, helpful and sweet when checking in. A TOTAL DELIGHT. Loved the rustic, log cabin feel--warm and cozy. Make sure to ask where the porch light switch is located.

The cottage we stayed in was super cozy, cute, and functional. We stayed in cottage #29 and it had two neatly made and clean beds, a clean and bright bathroom, a mini fridge, coffee maker, kitchen sink, a table to sit at, and an arm chair, a couch, plus a tv and wifi. It sat right on the beach where there’s several sitting areas, fire pits, and a volleyball net. Super peaceful and relaxing. The manager was super friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome and gave us good advice on ferry’s and getting to Mackinac island. We didn’t bring swimsuits but there’s also a heated indoor pool at the cottages you could swim in if the lake was too cold for you.

The location is perfect in our opinion. The fire pit right by the beach, with the views of bridge are amazing at night. The bed was comfortable. Shower was very clean & had great pressure. If you like to walk, you can easily walk to get an ice cream or to the shops & restaurants. The fireworks were a real bonus, while we enjoyed the fire pit.

Cottage was very clean & comfortable. The Beach was clean, plenty of places to sit & 7 fire pits. We arrived on Friday afternoon & was bumped to a bigger cottage and loved the space! Fireworks were being set off by the downtown area & we had the best views from the beach right here at the cottage. I loved we were so close to the downtown area & ferries, but yet the peace & quiet we were able to enjoy while staying here was exceptional!

The Lake View Hotel was perfect for our stay on the island. Recently renovated, our room (a lake view king) was very comfortable and super clean. The bathroom was spacious with a large countertop. The location of the hotel is excellent, right on Main Street but not right in the center so it was a little quieter. We loved the front porch and each floor has a little balcony as well, making it even easier to enjoy the views each morning. Highly recommend!

A good friend suggested the Lake View Hotel as they have stayed there several times. We booked 3 nights to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We have been to the island many times, but never stayed overnight. Checking in was a breeze and the staff were helpful and so friendly. We felt so welcomed. The Lake View is nicely located at the end of the main shopping area which made it so handy. Our room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. A refrigerator in the room came in hand several times. The bathroom was so nice in size and cleanliness with the shower being spacious. The bed was very comfortable as well. The pool is situated in the middle of the hotel. There is a hot tub and we did use it several times. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Beautiful hotel! This was one of the more affordable hotels on the island (during October at least) and we are so glad we stayed here! The hotel itself is clean and kept up. There are rocking chairs on the porches outside. The indoor pool area was very clean and wasn’t ever super busy. Lots of tables to sit at and work while the family swims. The room was spacious and adorable. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The porter took our suitcases to and from Shepler’s which was super convenient. Will definitely consider staying again!!!

Great hotel- friendly front desk and Orlando has a heart of gold and showed amazing customer service. Loved the front porch rocking chairs watching all the action on Main Street and then at night listening to the live music the bar across the street. The cold water available all day and coffee in the morning was a great bonus. The deck on the 3rd floor is a great place to hang out with great views. Convenient location to bike rentals and right across the street from Shepler’s Ferry dock.

We were very pleased with this hotel! The rooms were clean, the stairwells and parking lot were clean and the desk help was amazing! I left my prescription glasses in the room when we checked out and after 2 days of searching for them, I called the hotel to see if I’d left them there. Not only was I told they had been found and turned in, the gentleman told me he would get bubble wrap and package them properly to mail to me. What unbelievable customer service! We could walk from the hotel to Michigan Lake for a terrific view of the bridge. There was a park there with benches and you could wade in the water. Each room had 2 chairs outside the door so you could enjoy the view or the fresh air. I would absolutely stay here again.

Last minute booking on our drive home from Houghton to Detroit. Was hesitant because of a couple reviews but glad we choose this one! The gentleman at the desk was super kind despite the almost 11:00 pm check in. He provided extra towels and walked over to our room to help with an issue with the key card. Room was clean, no smells. Air worked. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom and shower. After a long day of driving and moving our child into her house for school this was a nice place to get a shower and a good night of sleep before hitting the road again. A beautiful view of the bridge out our window was a bonus!

We upgraded to a private balcony room. It was so worth it for us. The room was larger and had a frig. We could put some beverages in there and have them cold and the delicious fudge. Beds were clean and comfortable. Staff was so nice. They helped us make our stay fit our budget and give us the privacy we wanted. Thank you Inn keepers and your friendly staff.

We were looking for a place to stay for 2 nights that could accommodate a family of 4 in the St. Ignace area for under $500. We only wanted limited amenties- A TV, fridge, microwave, shower, linens (didn't need a fitness room, free breakfast, etc). This cute little motel was able to offer that. It was very quiet and appeared to be family owned. Given that the other lodging in this area was asking $500/NIGHT, this place fit the bill. The staff was very friendly. The only critique I have to offer was that parking was pretty tight, there was someone parked in front of our room. It is a premium location just a short walk from a non-swimming beach and also discount tickets to the Macinaw ferry.

A friendly welcome by staff upon arrival to the older, one floor motel style accommodation that has been remodeled throughout. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Hsk daily, unless requested otherwise. Reasonably priced and convenient to the Ferry Dock for trips to Mackinac Island. Will definitely stay again!

The motel is older but very well maintained. It is close to the Lighthouse and park. You have a perfect view of the Mighty Mac Bridge. Our room was very clean and quiet, the bed comfortable and bathroom was updated with an excellent shower. The rustic decor added to the charm. The pool is well maintained with comfortable chairs. The staff was very helpful, informative and friendly. We parked our car near our door and pretty much left it there because we were in walking distance to downtown and the ferry to the island. We will stay here again when we travel to this beautiful part of Michigan.

Booked with Riviera a month before our Michigan Road Trip. Got a text and email to confirm and then a friendly text the day before saying they were looking forward to us staying with them. Nice touch. I did my research and Riviera is by far one of the best motels in town. We arrived early and met Roman who is so very nice. He allowed us early check in as our room was just done. The office is all decked out for Halloween and looks awesome. Smells so clean and fresh too. Complimentary coffee offered as well. Our room was all we needed for our 2 night stay. Step in shower with plenty of hot water and great water pressure! Rare in a motel. They have Dove shampoo and soap such a nice touch. Most places have no name brands that are gross. A cute little bix of chocolates is left on the bed for guests. Another nice touch. The bed was comfy and clean. We slept well. The views from the balcony and the window at the opposite side of the room were fantastic of the bridge and the lake. The room was freshly made up and smelled so clean. It is an older motel but they have done a great job updating it. The motel was fully booked so that right there says plenty. For a place that is closing down for the season in a week, you would never know. It is really well kept. We will definitely return and thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed for a week. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean. The kids loved the heated pool and we loved the view of the lake and bridge from the pool. The bathroom was small and needed more counter or shelf space. The shower curtain had a tendency to move over the rim of the shower while in use causing water to get all over the bathroom floor. There was only one towel bar so we could only hang two towels to dry. We bought some suction hooks to hang our bathing suits in the shower. The room had a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. No microwave in the room, it was outside near the office. The rooms are nicely decorated. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Our stay was wonderful! Friendly service, and so clean and homey! The rest I’m ate not huge but so comfortable. The views are breathtaking! The staff is more than accommodating! There is a coffee bar in the main lobby, but no breakfast! There are no microwaves in the rooms either. Bring a hot pot and you are all set for your morning oatmeal! The rooms are older so we did have a bathroom door that stuck a bit, and a wobbly towel bar. Other than that we were so very pleased. We’ll definitely recommend this venue and return next year!

This place is great! We have stayed at few places in MC and this place is hands-down, the best. Besides, the fabulous views of the bridge and waterfront area , the place is clean it’s quiet, well-maintained, and has everything you need for a stay in the area. Check in was easy. The staff was pleasant and offered great eating recommendations and provided us a map of the area. They have a pool and it was clean and well-maintained. A short walk to the downtown area and boat docks. Very convenient! highly recommend!! Will stay here again.

As a place to sleep, Harbour View Inn was perfect -- my family is traveling through Michigan and the Deluxe Balcony room gave us some room to stretch, it was relatively quiet, and we all got the best night of sleep. They have a complimentary breakfast that was nice. However, my disappointment was that when you spend $500 on "the deluxe balcony" at the "Harbor View Inn," it was disappointing that the room is in the back house, and the view is of the back of the hotel. No fault of the hotel, that's what it is, and people who work there are nice. I just would've like that info when I was booking and deciding to pay extra money for what I thought was a room with a view.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the inn’s picturesque setting and the lovely historic architecture. Our room was impeccably clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, adding to the relaxing atmosphere of the inn. The service was truly top-notch. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was the seamless coordination with the ferry service for picking up and dropping off our luggage—everything was handled with such care and precision, which made our trip completely stress-free. If you’re looking for a combination of charm, excellent service, and beautiful surroundings on Mackinac Island, Harbour View Inn is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our last minute overnight stay. Harbor View Inn is a short walk from ferry dock which was nice as we traveled with backpacks and no luggage. We enjoyed proximity to shops and restaurants on Main Street. Bike rental from front desk very easy and lowest price around for hotel guests. Continental breakfast generous and delicious,buffet style, glass plates & coffee cups and silverware. Third floor placement may be difficult for physically challenged guest. Vibe is quaint.

The Harborview in was wonderful! A bit north of the Fort, it was nice and quiet and very relaxing. The room was cozy, warm and comfortable. The lobby hosted coffee/tea/hot water around the clock which was very appreciated as it was a chilly weekend. Breakfast was included and reminded me of Europe with all the oatmeal, petite danishes and fruit. Would definitely go back!

Loved that this was close to town but just a short walk out- it meant we could easily get to things but it was more peaceful. Property is clean, well maintained and beautifully landscaped. Staff was professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful. Wonderful experience overall, would absolutely stay there next time.

We loved our stay at the Inn on Mackinac. The hotel was clean and quiet, the breakfast was good including several gluten free items, the hot tub was wonderful, they had several nice seating areas inside and out, and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel was in a great location - far enough from the main strip to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to the main strip to be convenient for shopping and dining. We would stay there again.

Very comfortable venue. Located close to restaurants and Mackinac Island's Main Street shops. The Inn was very clean and our room was comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Our luggage was transported both ways from the Inn and that was very convenient.

I’d stay here again. Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean, and they have a continental breakfast included. It has the 100+ year old Victorian look and feel, but with a few modern upgrades such as an elevator, AC, and key cards. We didn’t have time to use the outdoor heated spa pool, but it looked inviting. The room could have used more places to hang towels and clothes. There was a small shelf with coat hangers poorly positioned directly over the nightstand and lamp. The room didn’t have a fridge or microwave (not a complaint, just something to be aware of), so we kept a few things cold using the ice from the ice machine. The room was cozy and the bathroom was a little tight but sufficient (other than the aforementioned need for more towel hooks). Overall, this was a nice stay.

Great place to stay on the island. Walkable to everything. 5 mins walk to all the restaurants and shopping. Bike rental right across the street and it was slightly cheaper than the others right at the ferry. Breakfast was good with fresh baked items from a local shop. Rooms were clean. Inn is older so you can hear ppl in the hallway but that was no big deal. Did enjoy the heated pool/hot tub! Check in and check out was a breeze.

It’s also next door to the Shepler’s Ferry dock so super convenient for arrival and departure. We stayed in a Main Street balcony room in the Waterfront North building (there are three buildings). The Waterfront North and South buildings are newer and across the street from the original building. No flower wallpaper or floral bedspreads here! The front desk was very helpful and professional. The bathroom was a large shower only (no tub) and great toiletries. Every night they put a little bag of taffy on our doorknob. Nice touch! And a complimentary bottle of wine in the room. We loved this hotel!

We booked our stay through Expedia, there in lay the problem, I guess. Upon our arrival, we were excited to see the location of our stay and the fact that we had a waterfront room. The front desk clerks were all very polite and knowledgeable. We especially liked Jesus. Unfortunately the room’s balcony was on the first floor between the ferry dock, where all the people lined up, and the dirty bike graveyard with cobwebs. We asked for a different room. None were available for both nights, but if we didn’t mind switching we could get a 3rd floor room for the first night at no extra charge, but would need to go back to the original for the second night. The 3rd floor room was perfect, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the docks and lake. The shower and sink area were great, the room perfect. We loved it. Alas, now back to 1st floor room. You can’t sit on the balcony during the day, as people are lining up, too loud. Moral of the story, make sure you do not have a ground floor room. Both rooms appeared to be newly updated and very clean and well equipped. Overall, I highly recommend Bicycle Inn and Suites Waterfront collection.

We paid for a balcony room with a waterfront view. Our view was over the dock where the ferry dropped off & picked up passengers to Mackinac Island. The roof of the dock blocked our view. It was very disappointing. The room itself was lovely and the hotel was very convenient but I was disappointed with our view. I have pictures to show what we looked at from our balcony. If I had gotten what we paid for I would have given the hotel five stars in everything.

I stayed at the Bicycle Street Inn & Suites for a trip to Mackinac Island to ride my gravel bike around the island, a bucket list item for me for closet to ten years. I had a fantastic experience at the hotel, from the bus experience, to the hotel front desk staff, to the garage access for my bike, to the Winchester's wait staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My room was nice, clean, large, and had a third floor balcony view of the lake, dock, and Main St. The drinks I had at Winchester's were all exceptionally good. The food was mostly very good. The whitefish & chips was my favorite, with a massive and unusually flavorful piece of whitefish and tons of waffle fries (I had quite a bit leftover in my room's fridge). The Caesar salad dressing was the only disappointing thing I had, but I had a long and fun conversation with my server about it, so hopefully they'll make some updates to their recipe. I love a good Caesar salad, so I'm pretty picky about the dressing.

My wife and 2 kids (4 and 7) stayed at the Waterfront North building for two nights in one of the rooms facing the water. I think it was a deluxe or premium room. I have zero complaints. The checkin and checkout process was easy and a hotel employee helped make sure our luggage was properly placed on the ferry (and vice versa). It was great. The room itself was clean, modern, comfortable, and very quiet. Great soundproofing, which is huge considering the room was right next to the ferry dock. The shower had great water pressure and the bathroom was really nice and had nice toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, etc.). It was fairly pricy, but absolutely worth the extra money. I’d stay here again.

Stayed on a Tuesday night. We got in our room early. It was very clean and quiet. My husband is a hotel snob and he didn’t complain at all. The beds weren’t overly comfortable, but the location was beyond perfect. We biked around the island and took showers before dinner. It was close to the coffee shop in the morning. Excellent trip.

This hotel requires a walk up a flight of stairs, I don’t believe they have an elevator. It’s right next to the Kingston kitchen at the village inn which has great food. It’s also close to other restaurants and shops, right downtown. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. It was very comfortable. I have zero complaints about the hotel. They had a dockporter bring our bags to and from the ferry and up to our room. We had a great stay.

Everything was perfect. Room was very clean, area very quiet. Even had a pool and a jacuzzi. This is my new favorite spot when coming up to Mackinac island.

The location was perfect, walkable distance to everything. It was also pretty clean and updated, without a strong smell in the room (which usually are horrible in motels). We liked that it had a jacuzzi and a pool.

The hotel is right on the main strip of Mackinaw City. Close walk to the ferries. Pool and jacuzzi was nice. Beds were comfy. Bathrooms were clean. I would stay here again.

Can't beat the view! My husband and I were in town for the Zoo-De-Mack biking event, and we stayed in a 'Beachside Classic Cabin.' It was awesome to have the beach and view of Mackinac Island and the bridge right out our doorstep. We relaxed in the chairs on the beach for quite some time, and the beach fire pits are a fun addition. The cabin itself if fairly rustic, but was clean and functional. We didn't end up using the pool or hot tub, but it's nice they have those options as well. The desk attendant was super helpful/friendly, and gave us lots of good tips/recommendations. A parking spot was included and it was also not to far to walk to the downtown on a nice day. We highly recommend the beachfront cabins!

We’ve been going to Mackinaw City for years and this was definitely one of the best visits we’ve had because of The Beach House. The location was perfect; not right in the middle of the city, but close enough that you still felt like you were right there. The cabin itself was spacious enough for my family of five and very clean. We were steps from the beach, which was the perfect way to start and end our day. The flowers around the property were stunning. Martin, the property manager, was hands down the most pleasant and helpful person. When we needed something, Martin was extremely accommodating. He was also just a fun guy to talk to. This was a nice change from a hotel. We’ll definitely stay there again next time we visit Mackinaw.

Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a room for our stay, but they upgraded us to a cottage since we were spending the whole week. Very clean and well maintained. They have a private beach with plenty of seating. They even had campfire pits available for a fire on the beach. Only complaint, i widh someone would occasionally wipe of the chairs and swings along the private beach area. Lots of spider webs and bird poop. Had to be very selective when you sat down. Overall, we would definitely return.

So let me start by saying that the location and view were a 10. If your looking for high end accommodations, this is not the place...BUT if you want peaceful, ON THE BEACH, and a great get away that is clean and comfortable this is the place. Martin the caretaker went out of his way to ensure you have what you need. Cabins are not stocked with utensils, but martin has everything you need from toasters, crock pots and most other things, right down to lighters for starting that romantic beach fire. The heat and air worked great in our cabin. Spend the money and get the beach front cottage. #27 was awsome. I could go on and on, but i think you understand what I am saying.

Older property maintained in top condition. Consistent with older property, rooms are on the small side and old-style AC unit was louder than newer style units. Scrupulously clean in all areas - pride in property shows. Grounds are very nice, and pool is likewise extremely clean and well-maintained. Had one minor problem during stay that was quickly addressed by staff. Nice location with partial view of straits and bridge. I would recommend this property whole-heartedly.

Amazing place to stay. About a 5 min walk or less to the beach and a great Mighty Mac view (the bridge). Can't see much from the actual property but still a great place. Close to Shepler's Ferry dock, shopping and some great restaurants. Will stay here again when in the area.

Showed a nice pool and Jacuzzi only to find that the entire pool area was a beshoveled disaster area.....zero ability to use..... disappointed.

It was the perfect size room. A little outdated style, but it was clean, and that's all I care about. What made it nice, was the room had an amazing view of Lake Huron, and had easy access to the beach. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee, while watching the sun rise over the calm lake. It was also quiet, for a majority of the time throughout the day in the hotel. There was occasional noise from people moving around inside/outside, or from house keeping. But everyone was quiet after 10pm pretty much. The staff were also very nice and helpful. For example, the hair dryer in the room didn't work, so I asked the front desk if could have a new one, and after 40 minutes I think?, the maintenance man came by to give me a new one. It was done in a timely manner, and I appreciated it.

Mackinaw Beach and Bay Inn and Suites shows signs of age, but it is located right on the water with a lovely view of Lake Huron. The room tvs are small, but the channel selection is excellent. It's about a 20 minute walk to the center of town where shopping for souvenirs is located, so the Beach and Bay Inn is quiet. Suites with balconies are spacious and have a marvelous view of Mackinaw Island in the distance. The refrigerator and microwave enable the guest to do some cooking. There is a market/foodstore a few minutes by car from the Inn. The staff is helpful and friendly, especially the gentleman who came in at 4:30 AM each day to cook breakfast for the guests. My toilet would flush properly my first day and within an hour, two maintenance personnel came and got it working. I enjoyed my stay.

Breakfast was not available at this hotel and for us, this wasn't an issue. The location was great and on the beach. The balcony overlooked the water and we did have a partial view of the bridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful to whatever needs or questions we had. We would stay here again. The rooms were nice. A little dated, but, clean and spacious. Thank you all for a terrific stay.

Well folks, it all depends upon your perspective, what you are used to, and what you are using the room for. This IS a MOTEL, and they were popular when I was a kid back in the 60/70s, so I felt like I was going back in time. the rooms were ALL wood, and therefore rather DARK (room 27) The interior desecrator should have used a lighter bedspread for certain and a little lighter carpet would have helped. Paintings need a bit of updating as well. So here is the BAD and the GOOD from my perspective. Bathroom was small and the sink and dressing area are open to the room and window so you dress behind a curtain. they provide all you need (even Kleenex) but I gotta tell you the towels are small and I am not a large person. TV took a bit of getting used to but then we really were not there much. No coffee in room gotta walk to office each morning. Beds were comfortable to me and sheets were super soft. NO water provided but they do have ice. It is a convenient location you can walk to two good eateries like 2 blocks as well as groceries, and town is 4 blocks. The place was really clean and the workers there are super friendly and helpful in every way. So all in all, if you just need a bed to sleep in, a good hot shower (pressure was just ok), and you don't mind a little dark and dungie, this is a great value for this high-priced town. and if you consider that the Island a ferry ride away is still using horse and buggies to get around, this place is ahead of it

I was a little skeptical about their check in/out process but it worked seamlessly and couldn't be any easier. This property has very clean rooms. Beds were comfortable although a little on the firm side. If you're looking for quiet, this is the place. I could not hear the room next door and barely heard car doors which are conveniently parked right at your door. Nice lighting inside and out. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and flat screen tv are included. Loved the sink/counter space with corner shelves on each end. Bathroom was small but shower was clean and had adequate water pressure. Stayed three nights and had plenty of towels. I did not have any need for extras so I cannot review the service from staff but I do know they are on site 24 hrs. Shopping district is a short,strait drive down the road with easy access to the Mackinac Bridge. This is probably the best motel I have ever stayed at. I will definetely be staying again!

If you prefer peace and quiet away from the hub bub of town this easy to find motel is squeaky clean, modern and great for a good night's sleep. Just up the street is Darrow's Restaurant with excellent food. The bed had one of the most comfortable mattresses ever! And why not give your business to a private owner instead of some huge chain of motels? AIso I should mention the price is reasonable too. This is the place if you like privacy and quiet.

Charming, affordable, no frills motel. Exactly the type of accommodations we appreciate. Love the simple keypad entry. Our room was clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. Easy parking (right at our door), quiet area and very safe. Decided to extend our stay after we arrived and didn’t have to change rooms when we booked the 2nd night (MANY THANKS AGAIN to the manager for helping us with that by phone!). Easy access to Mackinaw Island ferry services and very close to shopping & dining options. We so enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book here again!

Consistent / Courteous / Professional / Thoughtful - How my husband and I describe the staff at Mission Point. We have visited this family / pet-friendly resort for several years, and each time we arrive, we are treated as old friends vs. customers. The staff anticipates our needs (my husband being wheel-chair bound) and endeavors to ensure a comfortable stay. We never feel as though we are a burden, or that our special needs are an inconvenience. The beds are comfortable, the bicycles are well maintained, the food delicious and the grounds are gorgeous. One of the highlights of our visit was sitting in the Chianti "lilac" lounge, enjoying happy hour. After a long day, it was a great way to relax - chatting with the staff and listening to an amazing pianist. Please know that this is a resort and the prices may seem high - but if you plan your trip in advance, and budget accordingly, it is well worth it! For those who have special needs for disabilities, I recommend you call the resort directly - do not use a travel service - to ensure the Resort can accommodate your needs (e.g., a roll-in shower). I also recommend you view their 'package' deals, as these perks also make the trip more affordable (e.g., the price of ferry tickets, luggage transportation, entrance to local attractions, bicycle rental, food costs may be covered). The resort is situated close enough to the downtown area for ease of access, but far enough away so you do not have the congestion of the crowds.

My wife and I and our three daughters and families stayed here for three nights in July. It was the perfect place for a family vacation. Our 6 grandchildren had a great time in the pool and in the game room , as well as flying kites in the field across the road . We were also able to rent bikes on site which we rode around the 8 mile loop on the perimeter of the island and other areas . The resort is about a 15 minute walk east of downtown, although one can also take a horse drawn taxi. We had four comfortable and clean rooms in the main lodge. George and all the other staff were wonderful and very helpful. They took especially good care of our grandchildren at breakfast and dinner meals . We had the B&B Plan which provides free breakfasts and dinners for children 12 and under ( 1 child per 1 adult) and it worked wonderfully. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We generally dined at Round Island Kitchen on the covered porch overlooking Lake Huron which was a lovely setting . While the rates were expensive, as as most places on the island , it was worth it to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with all our family . Thank you George and everyone on staff for a most memorable stay !

Pampered, Spoiled, Utterly Valued...That's how we felt as guests at Mission Point Resort. We booked one of their smallest rooms (a Main Lodge Queen) with the Bed-And-Breakfast Package--and had a larger-than-life, truly wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in until we hopped the Ferry back to Mackinaw City, we were treated like royalty. Every Mission Point Host we encountered, from the cheerful folks who welcomed us with a room key and a smile, to the kind lady who cleaned our room, to the amazing people who served us in The Round Island Kitchen (and everyone in between) was professional, attentive and cordial. The room was spotless, the facilities were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the stay was restful. It was a short walk from our comfortable hotel room to Arch Rock, and the Concierge even helped us book a private carriage tour. We come to the Island each year, but this was the first time we stayed at Mission Point Resort. It was also the best experience we've ever had, and we cannot wait to go back next year. If you're on the fence about where to stay, just book a room here. You'll be glad you did!

We spent two nights in one of the Straits rooms here and couldn't be happier. The room was comfortable and quiet, the service and the food were consistently excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and watching the lake from their Adirondack chairs was about as relaxing as it gets. When we were deciding where to stay on Mackinac, I read the reviews here and would suggest anyone else consider the negative ones with several grains of salt. Some complained that the Straits rooms were a bit dated. It's true they weren't new, but they were comfortable and clean. Someone else was apparently horrified at having a brass room key, but after years of experiencing card keys that failed, I liked having a physical key. Either way, face it: you're not coming to the island to sit in your room all day. If you want to impress people by spending a small fortune, by all means, stay at the Grand. But if you want an affordable, beautiful, and comfortable property where the staff truly appreciates your patronage, it's hard to beat Mission Point.

Room service options were a plus as they allowed you to mark what you'd like replenished if you didn't want the full daily clean up. Like how check in time was 3 PM and how they have later breakfast times as most places I've stayed stop at 9. Great for dog owners. Conveniently located to downtown and bridge to Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island. Quiet location with a pet area. Clean and well kept main lobby.

We have stayed here in the past and have always had a good stay. Price was reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable.

Our recent stay at this motel exceeded our expectations in several ways. While it's easy to focus on the fact that the motel is older and somewhat outdated, there's much more to it that deserves attention. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how clean the space was. Contrary to the common assumption that "old and outdated" equates to "dirty and dingy," this was not the case at all. The room was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate four adults and a dog without feeling cramped. The shower provided hot water, which is essential for any vacation. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Although we knew it wasn't a "hot" breakfast, the variety of options was impressive. There were bagels, pancakes, muffins, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and cereal— maybe more! All four of us found the beds to be quite comfortable. They were firmer than what we typically use, but we slept wonderfully. Noise was minimal once the doors were closed. The only disturbances were occasional motorcycles, specifically at 2 am, which did wake the dog, but we never heard our neighbors. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the view. We had an upper room with a fantastic view of the island. Sitting on the expansive patio, which stretched the length of the room, and listening to the water was a dream. Overall, despite its age, this motel offers a clean, comfortable stay with great views and an adequate breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was comfortable-spacious room with nice view. Beds and pillows comfortable. The breakfast and breakfast room was very nice. The shower was surprising wonderful with a great heater in the bathroom. This is an older hotel so it isn't beautiful-but it seems to be well maintained. The staff were all very responsive and helpful. The beach and view of the lake is always wonderful. It is on the outer edge of town so it is quieter but still easy driving to get everywhere. It was a very pleasant stay.

Don’t get offered the best rooms when booking thru third party. Had several rooms with better view and balcony that were empty. Hotel was only 3/4 booked. Breakfast only pancakes, boiled eggs, cereal and few fruits. No water just juice and coffee. View of lake is amazing from small dining room and balcony rooms. Nice beach area with fire pits and places to sit and view. Good price for room.

When we take the motorcycle we like to have a parking spot right in front of the room with private entrance and no hallway. This is why we booked here. The room was ok… could have been cleaned better but it’s probably more in need of new flooring than cleaning. It was outdated but still quaint. But it is literally right on the water. Like the water was 30 feet from our window. Gorgeous, serene, and quiet. The girl at the front desk was adorable and super helpful and the landscaper was also super helpful and accommodating. He moved the picnic table right to our door so we could play cards at night while enjoying the water. There is also a fire pit and beach chairs right down in the beach. We did have a super weird guy staying next to us who was definitely a bit sketchy, but although he was annoying he was mostly harmless. We will absolutely stay here again, way prettier than mackinaw city. And the Mexican restaurant that the girl recommended when we checked in was only a two block walk and was delicious.

A quiet old cottage-like room.. best views of the lake. No complaints. I was comfy and cozy, that's all I needed. The owner let me know quirks about the TV, whatever else, and was very down to earth and friendly. I met some nice fellow guests and their dogs and had a great week. Beautiful little beach and fire pit, perfect base location to jump up to Whitefish, Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon, or run up the road a little to grab a ferry to Mackinac Island. Fantastic stay and I'll be back!

Absolutely clean room. Right on the beach, with a beautiful view of the sunrise. Fire pit. Very hospitable, helpful owner. Convenient location to multiple food choices, convenient stores, sight-seeing places. We highly recommend, and would stay there again.

Off the beaten path, quiet, friendly staff. They are in the process of updating the rooms. Good progress. Very friendly and helpful staff (especially oecially at figuring out the TV access!). The best part is the evening bonfire on the beach. We met several of our fellow travelers from several states and around Michigan, and we all had a great time. Looking forward to staying here next Labor Day weekend!

This unpretentious motel provided a very comfortable stay. Conveniently close to some good restaurants, ice cream shops, and ferries to Mackinac Island. A grill and corn hole are available, and there is a lovely little beach with lounge chairs and fire pit. Beds were comfortable, and room was spotless. Great stay!

We stayed at the Bayside Hotel over Christmas, and it was an unforgettable experience for the whole family! The rooms were well-maintained and comfortable, making it easy to relax after long days of fun. One of the biggest highlights was the hotel’s connection to a waterpark. Our kids absolutely loved it and spent hours enjoying the slides and pools. It was so convenient to have it attached to the building. The staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. From check-in to check-out, the service was excellent. If you’re looking for a family-friendly getaway with great amenities, I highly recommend the Bayside Hotel! We’ll definitely be back.

We booked this hotel and then read the other reviews. We were a little nervous when we saw the bad reviews. I’m not sure who the other reviewers were, but maybe you all should just stay at home. The hotel room was clean. The decor and carpet were older but not horrible. The shower was fine. The pool smells like chlorine, like a pool should. The hotel workers were professional, not overly friendly, but that would bother me if they were. No breakfast is served but the breakfast place they recommend Toast a go go isn’t worth the money. Just skip it. If you are picky, pay more and go to a 5 star. This was just fine for the price.

The location of my room on the third floor was perfect for being able to find our way to the water park. It was amazing and clean and the view from our room was amazing.

Rooms were clean , staff was friendly . Location is right across from Star line #1 dock. Was perfect to walk with toddlers. Young children loved the water park ! Very warm in water park area , drains and slides looked like the could use some cleaning. Flies all in the hallway corners , was told this was a problem city wide and not just this hotel and these flies are gone in the hotter summer months. Did not have continental breakfast like we had thought . They said have not done breakfast since COVID. I would stay here again for the price and location it was a great vacation ! Also a wagon is a great idea with young children and shopping . We were SO happy we had that for the little ones, a lot of walking if heading over to the island !

Beautiful hammocks, comfy chairs around firepits (that weren't lit for some reason), and AMAZING restaurants and food. Beautiful views from the patios, and it's so far removed from downtown it's very quiet. Shuttle upon arrival and departure was prompt and professional - a definite plus. CONS: The condos are very outdated and could use MAJOR refurbishing. I slept on the sofa bed and the mattress is VERY old and uncomfortable. The property is VERY far from downtown, and the taxi service is sketchy at best. On a quiet Saturday night, I waited almost 90 minutes for a cab to bring me back to the condo, so I didn't have to walk in the dark by myself. I would recommend Sunset Condos and/or Stonecliffe open a bike rental business on the property, so guests have the option to rent a bike during their stay. The property would be beautiful to explore via bicycle, guests can ride into town if they want, and it would be a great amenity to offer resort guests. (Renting bikes downtown for overnight rental can get VERY expensive, and the property is too far from downtown to bring your own bike.) Overall, although it wasn't unpleasant, I probably wouldn't stay here again given the location. But for people who want the feel of the island without the fanfare, Sunset Condos are for you.

Location was lovely. You are nestled in the woods away from the crowds. The grounds are very peaceful and well maintained. You are situated next to an upscale resort (not affiliated) with a gorgeous view from the restaurant. The other restaurant nearby, The Woods, is also high end dining experience. The condo itself was decent sized and fairly well equipped for basic cooking. I was only surprised that there was no salt/pepper or cooking oil provided in the unit. One thing to note is that there is absolutely no noise insulation between units. You will hear your neighbors, including their pets, as if they are sharing your room. We ran a fan for background noise whenever we were home. After 10pm, everyone did seem to quiet down. We were on the first floor and luckily no one was above us during our stay. Also note that you will need to have a bicycle. We loved being outside of the “downtown” area but without a bike you will have to rely on the shuttle or a taxi which will limit your ability to get around. But if you’re up for being in off the beaten path then this location was great. There are so many great trails and paths to explore and it’s a 10 minute bike ride (down a fairly steep path) to the beach.

Spacious and comfortable. Could use updating, such as new carriers and cabinet doors in kitchenette, but overall clean and comfortable. Great amenities like pool, water park, and beach access. Staff are incredible-friendly and helpful to make sure our stay was amazing.

Things we liked - Sheplers provided shuttle service, price, view from balcony Things we didn’t like - mini fridge froze our food. I was sure when I made reservations that breakfast was provided (it is no longer mentioned in the listing). Breakfast is always something I check for when making reservations. There was no breakfast, just a BOGO coupon for another establishment. There was only coffee available in the lobby - no hot water for tea. I think they could have done a little better in the area of morning offerings.

The suite was spacious and clean. We had a screened in porch and chairs off of our bedroom. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The waterpark was great for kids. It’s right across from Lake Huron’s beach

Great customer service upon check in, with an overwhelming amount of people in the lobby, we got checked in early, signed waivers, got wrist bands. We were fully informed of everything from accommodations at the hotel to what’s available in the area for our children. Room was clean, waterpark was fun. The game room was fun and clean and we were provided plenty of change by the front desk. We had a weekend well spent. They are even working on updating everything as we’ve been here in the past plenty of times, and I see new things each time such as new flooring this time.

We ran out of coffee and cups first day, thought that they would come in and clean and re-stock. Nope. We asked front desk for coffee and cups for 2nd day and they only allowed one thing of coffee. Day 2 no service. Thats fine, everything else was OK. 2nd night went down and asked for coffee and cups and then she told me about the door tag request. You fill it out and hand on door when leaving for day and they restock those items for you. We booked 2 days through Hotels.com and added a night through the casino before we got there. We had to check out then check back in on 3rd day. We were able to stay in same rooms and that process was very simple and painless. They were re-paving the roads around the hotel and up to the front entrance. We had to lug all luggae across the lot and to the hotel. Then the next day they were starting to re-pave outside our room. Lots of beeps from the equipment. I get it, work has to be done, just bad luck for us I guess. wish we had the lake view side, much better views for sure.

Service desk friendly, helpful and efficient when manned. Workout room and equipment amazingly clean, modern and useful. Plenty of available luggage carts. Grounds are immaculate and there is a great view of the lake. There was abundant available parking even though the hotel seemed fully occupied. The connected casino's restrooms came in handy when grandkids were taking their showers. On the other hand, cigarette smoke from the casino could be smelled throughout the casino and hotel. Also, the web site indicated a 6 person room capacity and our reservation was clearly for 5 persons. Yet, we were informed that per housekeeping policy to get an "extra" towel above the 4 provided we had to submit a written extra towel request. Also, the service desk is not manned 24 hours.

Our hotel room was very clean and we had a good view. When we got to the hotel we checked in, then went to the bar. The soda was flat from the guns, so my drink wasn’t good. For other drinks the bar didn’t have the right ingredients. Would not go back. Then we had dinner in the casino. Fries were cold, wraps were not good at all. I would not recommend eating there.

It was advertised online when I booked our room for a Mon and Tues nights that there was 2 restaurants and 2 bars. Only 1 bar was open with only 1 bartender and only 1 beer on tap. Only the little deli was open but not the bigger restaurant. Couldn't believe there was smoking allowed in casino. An ashtray at every machine. We are from Traverse City area and not use to that.

The only thing that could of made our stay better was if the restaurant was open but it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The room was clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The pool area was nice and the water was great.

I often stay at this hotel because it is close to the bridge and a park I enjoy. There are new owners, and they have already made positive changes. The bed was more comfortable than prior visits. The bedding had definitely been upgraded. It was soft and new compared to the old, dated, gross stuff there before. The area was quiet, despite being right across from the highway. The room itself was very clean. Probably could use some updating, but did not detract from the room. Desk staff and managers were very friendly and super helpful. Looking forward to my next stay.

We came up to spend a few days at Mackinaw. We had no reservations and went to several places and did not like the prices quoted. We wandered into the Knights Inn and they had a room available. We didn't care for the price, but understandable since we didn't have a reservation. We loved the room. It was clean. Shower water pressure wasn't the best but acceptable. The refrigerator was not working but we weren't using it anyways and management was notified so they could take care of it of which they offered to do right away. Alicia was THE BEST !!!! We absolutely loved her!!!! Breakfast items weren't much to offer. A box of fresh donuts and a large bowl of fresh fruit added to what you already offer would be a big help! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It's in a great location, close to shops and the ferry. There's a great restaurant next door. The room was clean and cozy. We chose this hotel for the 24 hour front desk because we knew we would be coming in late. We were very pleased with our stay.

Friendly check in and quick. Older property but well maintained. Easy access off I 75. Close to town & great restaurant across the street. Reasonable price for location. Nice little breakfast. I spent three weeks here for work. The staff was exceptionally friendly and more than willing to work with me to modify my reservations. Also, although a little dated, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I had an amazing view of the lake. Additionally, the room had a fridge and a microwave which is not the standard anymore. I didn't see any bugs in my room at all and I was happy with my stay.

We had a lake FRONT room and it was pretty awesome. Coffee on the balcony and watching ferries come and go as Arnold's pier was right next to us. Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were pretty clean for an older building.

Rooms were a bit outdated but they were clean & comfortable and that’s what matters. They also welcomed our German Shepherd which was more than appreciated. The staff here is extremely hospitable and friendly. The cleaning service and the front desk staff are more than welcoming. They made the experience even better. I would recommend staying here for budget-friendly options.

There was beach access and a place to sit and view Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. The free breakfast was delicious. Very friendly people!

Only WIFI is if you are in the office. Rooms are clean. Microwave, frig A/C, heat, seating out the room door. No chairs inside room. Friendly staff. Many restaurants, shops, marina in town, music during the summer as advertised. The Straits Beer Fest was very fun, worth planning to go.

Little 14 room roadside motel. No frills, but bed was comfortable, room was a sufficient size, staff was fantastic, helpful and friendly. Its not located directly on the water, but has its own private area located on the beach which is one block behind the motel. Rooms are fairly priced and would definitely recommend to anyoke looking for a place to stay on a budget. Also they own the store right next door (Trading Post) was always busy and has great food. Carry a variety of items from.daily donuts to having a meat counter with a nice selection for all your grilling needs.

This Vintage motel was just the "old Michigan" experience we were hoping for. Knotty pine walls, a new shower stall and the deli next door for breakfast made our stay fun and relaxing.

We had a 2 night stay, it was perfect for what we needed. Only to sleep. We were out most of the day. If you’re coming here expecting all the amenities, go to a resort or a better funded hotel. The location is super close to the strip, about a 3 minute drive, right next to the ferry terminal too. The room had a smell of fresh wood they had just renovated with which was fine, staff in the morning and night was attentive and answered any questions and gave recommendations on where to eat. If you could get this room between $70-$90 a night in the summer then it’s a steal compared to the other spots nearby. The beach is right outside the rooms, the rooms are pretty spacious, beds are so-so, tv is small, water pressure is great, doesn’t smell like mold or musk. I’d stay here 10 out of 10 times because I stay at places on a budget and splurge on things to do, If you’re like me, I think this spot would be perfect for you!

This is an older hotel that I had stayed in years ago. BUT!! It has been beautifully renovated with blonde knotty pine walls. Smelled like fresh wood(which I love!) when we walked through the door. The lady in the office was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed on the bottom level, which had a beautiful glass walk out door to a little patio on the beach. Beds were comfy. Have absolutely no complaints! Will stay here again

Hotel was a great place to stay. Our rooms were recently remodeled. Beautiful lake view . The inside kids water area was a little musty and outdated, but we didnt care because the beach is right out the back door. Front desk lady was very friendly and accommodating! Price was great when we stayed!

Hey!.... I go north to play and simplify. Not ti collect bragging rights about a needlessly posh over priced hotel I spent a weeks salary to stay at. But you can't go wrong at the "Capri", if all you really need....is to see a smiling face when you arrive at check-in and a good nights rest.

The Capri is a 1960's motor lodge that is inexpensive, clean,well maintained, with friendly staff. No frills but good value for the money. One of the least expensive hotels in Mackinaw City, the welcome is friendly and your tourist questions are gladly answered. The a/c and tv work and the bathroom spotless. Plenty of towels. The pool is also nice. The area is generally quiet. It is just off I-75 so you are not on the massive tourist strip, which is a plus in my book, but it is near enough to the restaurants that you can walk. Also close to the parking for the ferries if you are in town for that. We would definitely stay there again if we return to the area.

We stayed on night. Get a good rest. Beds are comfortable. Room and bathroom are clean. TV and air conditioner worked very well. Owner was friendly and very helpful. He provided useful information and brochures. Light breakfast. Better than in some chain hotels. Nice location. Close to different points of interest. Good value for the money during the hot season.

We chose a beach side room, and loved it. We were on the second floor, and got to watch fireworks from St. Ignace, the island, and Mackinaw city’s. We also got to enjoy the fireworks let off by people staying at hotels along the beach. Hearing the waves at night, looking at the lit up Mighty Mac, and the lit up grand hotel on Mackinac Island was so refreshing. Waking up doing yoga on the beach, walking the beach, or just reading a book with a cup of coffee are fun things to do. The sun rise, and sun sets are spectacular. The hot tub is large, and the pool is really neat, it’s indoor/outdoor. If you like to walk, I would recommend walking up the beach, to do your shopping, dining, and going to the docks for boat rides. It saves money, and time finding a parking space. The motel has a swing set, picnic tables, and fire pits. People had fun lighting fires and talking with one another. The staff is very friendly, and great for information. We will definitely be going back soon and often.

The beach view from the lakefront rooms is gorgeous. There's a covered outdoor patio outside the sliding door, the staff is friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful. The room was very clean. The price was very good. I'd planned to stay one night and decided to stay two! Would definitely stay here again.

The balcony room offers an exceptional view of the Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The location is in walking distance of many shops, activities and the Arnold ferry service which I highly recommended using if you are heading to Mackinac.The room was comfortable, linens were clean as was the bathroom. Do not rely on the breakfast. Coffee was hit and miss when available. Food items were minimal, prepackaged granola bars and muffins. It’s a shame the dining area was closed as this is a missed opportunity for the hotel. Remember this is right near the water so yes there are birds and bugs flying around. The fireworks on Saturday night was an unexpected surprise. I recommend : Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum. Being able to tour a retired Coast Guard ship was awesome. Go further north for even more places showcasing the Coast Guard! Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse Headlands International Dark Sky park Mackinac Island - you will need multiple days just for this The Hook restaurant in Mackinaw isn’t worth what you pay. The food was cooked good but all three meals at the table were under seasoned. Toast to go go has a decent breakfast buffet. Make sure to grab a coupon from the front desk for a buy one get one free. Murray Hotel on Makinac has a restaurant that has quick and delicious food. Their burritos are amazing. Take it to go and sit in the park and enjoy the atmosphere. A little further North to Penny’s Kitchen in Sault Ste Marie. They have a great breakfast!! While you are there visit some local shops, Soo Locks and even take a boat tour.

Very good accommodations. Clean, nicely furnished room, friendly staff, and good view of the lake from the room. Beach was clean and pleasant. There was a "take away" breakfast and bottled water in the lobby each morning.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Parking lot needs more space. Rooms could use updates but it was clean for the most part and spacious. View from the balcony was great. Only downside was housekeeping. Housekeeping staff was terrible. Blocked the stairs and elevator all day. Did not come to the room until after 7pm and then was upset with us when we asked for a few towels. Then left them on top of the cart and told us if we wanted others to go to the front desk. (Luckily the women at the desk were great)

Room was nice and rustic with carsiding pine boards inside, nice regular shower, sinks, microwave,small coffee maker, balcony. This was on the 4th floor Beach side.

We read a lot of critical google reviews. This place does not offer many amenities. But they don't say that they do. So we didn't expect them, and we weren't there for them. It was half the price of the next door hotels, and we got a clean room, clean towels, hot water, and yes, a time-capsule motel room - but we walked 10 feet and were on a sandy beach on Lake Huron. I mean, come on. The pool house was dated but pretty clean. The pool itself seemed clean, the hot tub seemed clean minus some sand which, I am not sure how you keep sand out of the hot tub that close to the beach. Only one of the two TVs worked, but, eh, we hadn't planned on watching TV except during our brought-with-us breakfast. We'd stay here again! If you are looking for modern facilities, hair dryers, ironing boards, and a 4 star experience, this is not your place. If you are looking for a clean, cheap place on Lake Huron - boom! You found it.

We had a balcony room and it was clean. The view was amazing of the island and bridge at night. The pool was nice, the hot tub was fantastic! Park lot when busy is kinda hectic but overall was good stay.

Rooms are no thrill but are clean and we were happy. Right on the beach and the balcony with a lake view is worth the upgrade. I have no complaints.

It was a very nice room for the price. Check in was by a very pleasant lady. The beds were comfortable and the room and especially the bathroom was very clean. It was a quiet room with no traffic noise in the night. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again.

I had booked a family suite/room, and they upgraded us to beach side. However, I went back to the desk and ask for the original room, as it had 3 beds to the two in the upgraded room. It was in the older part of the inn. When we opened the door it was defiantly from the past. But if you're traveling with family - book the family suite/ room with the 3 beds. The rooms were separated, so the kids were in their own room and we in ours. There was even a pull-out bed that wasn't listed so if you were traveling with more people, you could still stay very comfortably. The room shared a bathroom in the middle, had a table on each side and the chairs had seen better days for the fabric/ covering. The hot tub was broken, and the pool was open, but it was as cold as the lake water on Lake Huron. They told us at check in we were welcome to use the pool and hot tub next door. But we didn't. Staffing was a little weird as they put a note on the door stating to go next door for service. It was a short walk, but still a little weird.

If you are looking for a modern, up to date, well maintained hotel, this isnt it. It was a cheap motel I have stayed at before, so I knew what I was getting into. The bed was uncomfortable. It was so worn, there was a definite slope on one side and I was mildly afraid of sliding off the bed in the middle of the night. The shower head was corroded and rusty, which was a little concering as well. Overall good stay. I knew what I was getting into for the most part, but here is an honest review for those of you who may not.

Great location and great price beds were comfortable staff was really amazing polite and courteous and knowledgeable of the area and recommending things to see and do. My only complaint is hot tub didn't work and pool was very cold but the lake views and beach was well worth it. I will definitely return and highly recommend

Was pleasantly surprised. Not sure what we were getting to at first. They provided a free upgrade and the room we were provided with was recently remodeled and so was very clean. It was on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the Lake (Huron) and the beach where some people were enjoying themselves. Didn't get a change to check out the indoor/outdoor pool.

Outdated but clean. Staff was very friendly. There was no heat and no water pressure to take a shower.

The check in ladies were lovely. Our room had a gorgeous view. It is a budget motel so thats what we got. Outdated yes but clean and inexpensive.

My husband and I stayed three nights in a queen room at the Moosewood Inn in June 2023. The Inn is so cute on on the outside and you can park right outside your room, which is very convenient. Checking in is very easy and the owner is very friendly! Our room was exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated. The cabin-themed room décor goes perfectly with the Upper Peninsula vibe and is unique to the Moosewood Inn. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and care into the design and upkeep of the Inn. We also loved that the room has a full-sized coffee maker, a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom is spacious and has a beautiful shower, perfect for after a summer day spent outdoors in the beautiful St. Ignace landscape. The location is close to the downtown sites and restaurants, you can easily drive and access public parking within a few minutes. Checking out was a breeze and we only had to carry luggage a few feet since we were able to park directly outside our room's door. I would definitely stay here again, both my husband and I had a great experience at the Moosewood Inn! It was one of the cutest places we saw in St. Ignace!

I had to finish some work over the weekend and wanted a place that was comfortable, clean, and had stable internet. The WiFi was exceptionally great, i never stayed somewhere with WiFi so fast and reliable. Everything about the experience was amazing. I will recommend anyone I know is visiting st ignace to book their trip through Moosewood inn. The owners live on the property as well and were helpful and kind. The room itself was very clean and maintains a cabin-like aesthetic that adds so much charm and character to the trip. The owners clearly put a lot of love and care into their vision of a great vacation experience. Just book with them already, they have their competitors and nearby hotel chains beat by miles.

Moosewood Inn is 1000% better than the major chain “suites” we have stayed in. The cabin theme was super cute, the room was very clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. We couldn’t even hear any noise from the surrounding rooms. The king suite was very roomy while the queen room was compact, but they both have refrigerators, large bathrooms and a shockingly clean coffee maker. The location is slightly away from the main tourist area but not far and it’s also close to Castle Rock and a casino. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if we’re ever up this way again.

Our room was so clean & relaxing. It was very quiet & we really enjoyed the location. There was a massage chair that was really comfortable. It was very close to the ferries to Mackinac Island which we did use. The hotel has been remodeled and creates a very unique peaceful atmosphere. The owners are super nice & answered any questions we had about the area including the best pizza at BC's which was delicious. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary & even received a card. from the owners. Moosewood Inn will be the hotel we will stay at when we are in the St. Ignace area.

This is a short walk just past the Statue of Liberty, that we walked with ease to & from Main St. The twin sisters, Rose & Caroline are friendly and welcoming & want to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay with them pleasant & enjoyable. I called in advance to make sure there were toiletries & that we're white noise sleepers & if a fan was provided. They made sure to place a box fan in our room. They even hand wrote a card welcoming & thanking us for our stay with them. Small gestures go a long way with the experience. Our room overlooked the hot tub to the property in front of this one, and kept the windows open to hear the waterfall, which was pleasant to fall a sleep to. We also had a small water view which was stunning. We chose to have the bathroom in suite & took advantage of a soak each night in the claw tub. I might recommend some bath salts or bubbles complimentary for guests, but we did find a shop in town that sold some. The bed & pillows were firm. The breakfast was quite good, choices from bagels, Danishes, oatmeal, some sort of egg & meat dish, yogurt, and cereals. The coffee was great, and they had decaf & tea options. They served an afternoon coffee/tea time 4-5pm which was a nice treat. The playlists for both settings set a perfect ambiance. We had an amazing time visiting in October and Pine Cottage added to our wonderful experience.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location was absolutely perfect—less than a 10-minute walk from the main street of Mackinac Island, which made everything super convenient but still nice and quiet. While the room was on the smaller side, it ended up being the perfect size for us since we were out exploring most of the day anyway. We were a little hesitant at first about the shared bathrooms, but once we arrived and saw how clean and well-kept they were, it really wasn’t an issue at all. One of the nicest surprises was how quiet the hotel was—despite its age, we hardly heard any noise or commotion during our stay. The fresh island air was such a treat, especially since we visited during some of the hottest days. And the breakfast was delicious—great coffee, and I really appreciated the nice tea selection too!

The breakfast was delicious. A very nice variety of something warm plus cereal, fruit, and pastries. We love coffee in the morning and it was available by 615 at our special request and we sure appreciatedit. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to town. Our room was very comfortable. They are so helpful getting your luggage to and from the ferry. I don’t know how they could’ve made our stay better.

Pine Cottage was a short walk away from the busy downtown area, up a quiet side street. The innkeepers, Caroline and Rose were delightful. They were genuinely happy to have us as guests, very responsive and helpful. Hot breakfast was delicious, provided buffet style. Our room was small, but very adequate. The bed, linens, pillow were all very comfortable. The shared bathroom was very clean and well-stocked. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Perfect location, not far away from downtown but far enough that is quiet and peaceful. Gorgeous, clean, comfortable room with a beautiful view. The family that runs the hotel is very helpful and kind. Porter to and from ferry stop was super easy and made travelling easy. Staying at the Pine Cottage really was a highlight of our time on Mackinac Island and well worth the money.

Small room, but perfect for our one-night stay for two people.
