This place was pure paradise. By far our favorite appartment among our whole trip on several islands. Actually... may be the best appartment I've ever stayed in during my years of travel across the world. It was perfectly clean and quiet, big enough to feel like home. The kitchen and the bathroom are well equiped, and there is plenty of storage space. The location on Pico island is perfect. 10 minutes walk from the city center, the ferry, the grocery store and the best restaurant of the area (Tasca O Petisca). The staff is amazing. Friendly, helpful, kind, efficient. They answer quickly and are patient. Finally, the view from the (large!) balcony is breathtaking. Definitely worth it, we would book there again without hesitation and we strongly recommand this place.

Very cozy place with huge terrace overlooking vineyards, sea and with a magnificent sunset chance over Faial island. The bed was huge and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped, living room furnished with comfortable furniture. Two sun beds were available as well as a table with chairs in the terrace. Internet was good. The ladies in the reception provided the advice on the vineries to visit, one is super close 10-12 mins on foot. Same distance is to the town center or to big supermarket. If you will get tired from the restaurants - supermarket grills great 1/2 chicken. Also within 2 mins walk there is a public natural pools with bar, shower and changing area.

The location was perfect with a wonderful view. It was a spacious and calm place, which perfectly would suit family. For the ones who want to avoid going to eat out every evening, there is kitchen with kitchen supplies available at the place. It was really lovely to have a cup of coffee while sitting outside in the terrace and watch the sunset. The terrace is perfect to get suntan, do morning/evening yoga. Unfortunately, the weather was not the greatest during my stay, thus I had just brief moments to enjoy the terrace.

A vision of paradise, one of our best stays ever. Part of the appeal is that of the Azores, with their perfect climate and wonderful scenery, but Jeiroes has a charm all its own. Roomy, clean, huge bed, all amenities, a veranda overlooking Madalena harbour and the nearby island Faial, with wonderful sunsets. A stone's throw from a swimming pool and sea pool. Secluded and very peaceful, but a short walk along the coast to downtown Madalena, which has a handful of restaurants and bars open late. Very helpful and considerate staff, which helped us to book taxis and gave us good advice.

Great location by the ocean in Madalena. Lovely terrace set into vineyards. Spectacular view of Faial and fun to see ferries go back and forth. Loved having bathtub and house had everything we needed for wonderful stay. Bed was King+ and very comfortable. Very clean and would happily have stayed longer.

My husband and I loved our three night stay at Pocinhobay - we hated to leave and definitely plan to return for longer next time. Everything about the two bedroom villa in which we stayed was exceptional and top quality - roomy, comfortable, private, well-furnished kitchen, beautiful artwork throughout, gorgeous view from the wraparound deck/balcony. Loved using the outdoor shower under the stars. Loved the hot tub on the deck outside the master bedroom, and loved stretching out in the hammock, idly swinging while reading a book. Loved the daily, efficient, and friendly housekeeping service. Loved making myself an espresso to sip on the deck, enjoying the view, before going down to the dining room for the delicious breakfast with excellent service. Loved the time we spent relaxing and reading before venturing out to explore the island - great location for that! José and Luisa are gracious, friendly hosts, who clearly have put a lot of thought and effort into making their guests feel comfortable, pampered, and happy. I verify that they have been very successful at that!

We were in the 2-bedroom villa and it was just incredible! Beautiful views from the terrace, and the villa itself was gorgeous. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel and surroundings are beautiful. Everything's done with such great attention to detail and the owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool area is stunning with a great ocean view and there is plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the view, even on a rainy day. We loved it and would definitely come back to this unique and wonderful place. The nespresso coffee was not included in the original offering but was kindly offered by the owners to us.

The hosts were so friendly and provided helpful recommendations for our stay on Pico. The property itself is amazing and classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. It had a beautiful community room with hammocks, pool and lounge chairs, and trails through the old vineyards that you can walk. The breakfast was delicious and had so many options. Right across the street is an ocean swimming pool that we enjoyed watching the sunset from.

This property is in a perfect location and the owners are charming and very attentive - Prestine and decorated with absolute perfection which represents the history of Pico so well. Comfortable and spotless. Every small detail is thought of. Absolutely loved our stay and already making plans to come back soon.

This place is simply amazing It's very comfortable, clean, and calm, with breathtaking views and wonderful energy. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the infinity jacuzzi is a small joy that made our day. We hope to return one day!

We very much enjoyed the beautiful location; it was magnificent. The accommodation was spotless. Access to the jacuzzi and the pool is perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. A perfect place!

Staff were very helpful with check in. Dedicated parking. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom with towels and dressing gowns supplied. We didn’t try the swimming pool or jacuzzi but they were in service and looked nice. The views were spectacular, and surrounded by nature in a comfortable accommodation.

Awesome view, 24/7 jacuzzi, accessible location, parking. The place has everything you need and feels very fresh and new. They also provide bathrobes.

Absolutely amazing the best B&B ever!! Hottub amazing, kitchen amazing, bad slept amazing, the temperature amazing there is wifi, washingmachien, airco, coffee ect. Everything you need its here. Rhe whole place is a vibe and the host is simply lovely! THIS IS THE REASON I WANT TO GO PICO AGAIN!

Such an amazing location and view, close to the main road and yet isolated and peaceful. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi are a must, I was super sad that I was only staying for one night. Really welcoming.

Great little house in the mountain. Bed was super comfy and loved the bathtub and jacuzzi after climbing pico. The house was very clean and although I didn't meet the host, check in was smooth and they were in touch during our stay to confirm our stay was going well.

Everything - spacious room, huge luxurious bed, bathtub, laundry with washers and dryers, two full kitchens with induction cooktops, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, coffee machines, refrigerators/freezers, great cookware, wine glasses, utensils - everything one needed to prepare and enjoy a relaxing meal. Then there was the view from the dining/lounge room overlooking the bay with Monte de Guia and Ilha do Pico in the background. Each morning we relaxed on the balcony as we had our coffee and listened to the surf gently rolling in. This was all highlighted by the friendly and attentive staff which were there during the daytime hours. Location was perfect with a short walk to the middle of town and the marina. Free street parking (residential area) was available right at the front door. Never an issue.

A hotel like, but better. Absolutely amazing. Exceptionally clean, a lot of appliances in the common kitchen (also, there are two of them - one for each floor). Whenever we ate, there was nobody else there. Also, the common space overlooks the oceans and the view is really great. There is a big TV and comfy couch. Also some computers to use. Rooms are very nice - big beds and clean bathroom. I think we were lucky with the room, because it was on the second floow and we had amazing view of the sea. There is also AC in the rooms Check in is smooth - you get your own code for the door. There is also laundry rooom that you can use - a big bonus. Also the staff was really nice; we ran into the cleaning lady a couple of times and she was soo soo nice! Ready to help us with everything and with a great attitude :) There is enough space to park your car in front of the property. Also, the guesthouse is uust by the sea, so its perfect for a morning run/walk by the coast. Also, the whole guesthouse smells amazing!

We were welcomed by a friendly, personable and extremely helpful woman. She made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She went above and beyond our expectations. The property was very clean, the bed was comfortable and our room was good sized. We had a wonderful view of rocky coast. There is a large well equipped kitchen and very nice common areas. The location was easy to find, there was plenty of parking and it was quiet. I highly recommend this property.

Easy access to the building and room with a key code. Beautifully clean and comfortable room with an amazing view to Pico. The shared kitchen was fully equipped with an American fridge, oven, hob, kettle, Dolce Gusto coffee machine and more. Ample cutlery and crockery and pans. Plenty of parking in the street outside. Quiet location just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Horta and Porto Pim beach. Really couldn't fault it. Excellent value for money.

Very friendly and hospital host, the location is in a beautiful and quiet area of Horta, the views from the room are exceptional, the room is of good size and very clean and the bed is very comfortable and the facilities and amenities are new and of high quality. Street parking is just outside the building. The common area with a nice kitchen and dinning area is a great plus. With so much to offer this place is such a great value for money.

The shared living room is beautifully decorated, spacious and impeccably clean. The room was bigger than average and super cosy with a private bathroom and all the amenities. The location is perfect, in the centre and two steps away from the promenade. The owner and the staff truly made my stay memorable: being friendly and attentive. I simply felt home.

I’ve been travelling the Azores for a month and this was one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. the staff are so nice and welcoming. the rooms are really spacious, super fresh clean white bedding and towels and a nice en-suite bathroom. there are big windows and air con is such a treat. the kitchen has everything you need and more, it’s a great place to cook a proper meal. plus, the garden has chairs and tables for relaxing and eating outside. if you stay a few days you can use the washing machine for free, which was so nice. it was a great location, a few minutes walk from the ferry terminal and 10 minutes from marina/ scuba diving centres. I really can’t fault this place, would 100% recommend to others and return again in the future :) thank you for having me!

Everything was super clean! A lot of details everywhere in the house. The kitchen was very well equipped. Tea and coffee were free. The mattress was comfortable and the shower hot with nice water pressure. There are lockers in the dorm to store your stuff. The Hostel is operated by a mother and her son. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money! One of the best places I've been too.

Great location near the city centre, marina and beach. Amazing outdoor pool with the view on Pico mountain. Breakfast was tasty, wide variety of food. Indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym are also great to have in the hotel. Massage was amazing and I would recommend it.

Gays in the reception helped with all our questions and was super friendly) Amazing spa and pool, water in jacuzzi can be a bit more hot, but it’s still good. We really enjoyed our rest. We were worried after some reviews about hard beds, but ours was very comfortable. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Great location, google doesn't show it but there are stairs from the hotel down to the middle of Horta, so very close to things but still off the noisy road. The sea view is amazing but we would have been happy with garden view as well. Breakfast is standard for this level of hotels in Portugal. Dinner buffet is a decent enough alternative when you can't get a restaurant booking.

You come to this hotel for the pool and the location! It's clearly a hotel with some history, and while it could use some updates here and there...it's overall a quite nice stay. It was a perfect place to swim with views of Pico mountain and feels secluded from town, but is actually only steps away. Very walkable for Horta itself. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable as well, breakfast was ample and fresh, parking included.

My favorite hotel in 2 weeks in the Azores. This property is unique and gorgeous. Stunning views! Sparkling clean! Generous and attentive owner. Brand new. Incredible value for the money and the restaurant is popular w/ both locals and tourists. Attention to detail on every corner of the property. You will not be disappointed with this choice. Owner speaks fluent English and very helpful. Food is delicious. Bar on site. Outdoor patio dining. Fun and funky decor. Property is built w/ many local materials and architect designed. But, truly the location and views are to die for. And you get a full apartment w/ living room and kitchen. 10-15 minute walk into town or a couple minute cab ride. We did both. Enjoy Faial! This place is *romantic* if that is what you are looking for and could be good for families too as there is a couch that looks to change to a futon. The bedding is very soft and you can hear the ocean all night. I didn't want to leave. Thank you Azul Pastel!

The check-in was easy, the staff was friendly. The ocean views from the all rooms of our spacious flat were exceptional. There was a restaurant on-site which was great when open. The staff stocked delicious food items in our kitchen each day for breakfast, and we had a coffee maker. The table in the kitchen was great to work on. The beds were comfortable, and there was heating which came in handy as it was chilly during our rainy winter stay. There were cubicles to place our clothes in, hangers, benches, a comfortable couch, and additional chairs. We really enjoyed it, and would definitely stay again if we return to Horta.

I like the idea that we all were able to enjoy breakfast in our room overlooking the ocean. They give you a variety of cereal, milk, ham, and cheese. The apartment was clean and spotless and the location five minutes from the Marina was fantastic. We ate there for dinner and the service and food were phenomenal. I would recommend Lofts Azul Pastel to anyone who may be looking to come to Horta- Fial for a visit. The views and location are first class. Very nice and helpful staff (the room we got was noisy and we were offered an alternative on immediately, helped with ordering taxi and rental car), high standard room, good breakfast, saunas and jacuzzi, small gym, great location near the marina and few hiking routes.

Excellent! Location is superb, the staff did all the best for us: jacuzzi and hot sauna are available on request. And the view!!! Pico Island and volcano just in front of you at the stone's throw. If you're lucky, Pico will drop cloudy blanket and show its summit to you :)

Fabulous stay and hotel of a very high standard. Gave it 4 overall rather than 5 because for a couple of days there the jacuzzi wasn't working. Also would havd beennice to have somewhere to sit outside in the sunshine. But minor points and overall excellent.

Nice hotel good size room central location near bars, restaurants and attractions. Our room was very close to the fitness center a bonus after our 7km Caldeira rim hike and I could use the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi, however, had only one jet working but if I positioned my calves over it it was very refreshing. The breakfast was abundant and without variation but it was nice to have every morning especially when you were catching an early ferry to Pico Island

Highly recommend staying at Hotel Horta. Friendly staff helped us rent a scooter, get a taxi, and generally navigate around Faial island. Great breakfast included with stay, but would skip dinner in the hotel restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable with a great view of Pico mountain from the balcony.

Amazing hotel close enough to the port yet quiet and comfortable. I was able to check in a little earlier as a room was available. Both the breakfast and dinner are good value for money and varied. Open also to non guests, with a buffet available if enough people are staying at the hotel. The room and common areas were very clean. Parking is available close to the property however it can get busy during the week.

The location is very good. At a walking distance from the city centre and main restaurants. The trip from the airport is also fast, 20 minutes by car. The hotel has been renovated in the common areas but the rooms and spells the bathroom still need some improvement. The view is breathtaking, facing Pico Island from the room and from the breakfast dining room. Lovely the best view in town. The breakfast is very good, with a big variety of pastry, bread, cheese, eggs, fruit. We can’t ask for more. The staff is very very friendly, they treated us as we were old visitors. We made friends there among the staff. There a parking place to park for free. We are looking to come back.

Bit of a climb up to the hotel from the ferry, check in was easy and the staff as a whole efficient and friendly. The rooms were clean and the bathroom stocked ok. Nice balcony for a view towards Pico. Breakfast was ok just needed to be restocked quicker. Downside is no coffee maker in the room and bar service is erratic. Good value for money

This hotel is wonderful! Probably one of the best hotel-stays we've had while traveling around the Azores. The room is super spacious, beds are excellent, the balcony is a big plus. Bathroom is great, shower pressure is good, provided products are of high quality. The breakfast is very varied and fresh, and everyone at the hotel is super helpful. Would definitely stay again!

My husband and I spent two nights in one of the oceanfront rooms at this beautiful property and are already trying to figure out when we can travel back to Pico for a longer stay. The view was amazing - not only from the large balcony with very comfortable chaise lounge chairs but even when just sitting at the dining room table enjoying a meal and looking through the large glass doors. The minibar was well stocked and fairly priced - whole bottles of wine for 10-15 Euros were especially appreciated! Tons of space and very friendly helpful service. Claudia provided a map with handwritten notes on it to give us true insight to the best restaurants and places to visit. She also scored us a last minute fishing trip with a local company. If you want a clean, well-decorated, spacious room with a view, in a convenient location, along with personal service, this can’t be beat.

Pleasant and helpful staff! The apartment suite we stayed in (#4) was wonderful. Clean, spacious, quiet, stylish and well equipped, and with a large sunny patio overlooking the sea! The location is an easy 10 minute drive to Madalena, and far enough out for peaceful ocean breezes. Continental breakfast was sufficient. Unfortunately, must drive somewhere for dinner although we walked up to the local cafe/pub for some cheap beers! Overall a 5 out of 5! Looking forward to seeing the progress of the construction of the single units and restaurant!

Spacious duplex with beautiful seaview, large terrace, modern decoration, well equiped kitchen, dishwasher, good internet, clean, well maintained. Staff extremely kind and helpful, very pleasant. Location beautiful, right on the shore, but a bit away from Madalena, definitively need a rental car if you stay here. Included breakfast is simple, but fresh and practical.

Joana and Ana were very friendly and helpful staff. We were pleased with our accommodation – it was clean and had a nice view, with a decent breakfast and a pool for relaxing. They made our stay comfortable and were responsive to our requests. Appreciated their service.

Excellent accommodation and location. We had a one bedroom duplex apartment with sea views and a terrace with loungers and table/chairs. The accommodation is above the old small port and offers great views across to Faial especially at sunset. The hosts were very accommodating as we had a delay in collecting car at airport so were later than planned in arriving. A standard tourist map of island had been annotated with places to eat which was very useful, also local information regarding use of the ferries was helpful. Each morning breakfast was provided in the large corridor so guests could help themselves then eat in their rooms. There is a mini bar within the kitchen fridge which was supplied with reasonable priced drinks as there are no shops nearby. The accommodation is located in the area with unique vineyards within volcanic stone walls and a few km from Madelena so a car is essential.

The location was amazing, with breathtaking views of the ocean and Pico. The cabin was wonderful—beautiful, fully equipped, spacious, and modern. They really thought of the little things, like providing paper towels, vinegar, olive oil, salt—everything you need in the kitchen. There was even tea and coffee waiting for us! As we were celebrating our 10-year anniversary, they surprised us with a sweet and thoughtful gesture when we arrived. It actually brought tears to my eyes—it was so touching to feel that they had gone the extra mile to make our stay special. We love cooking, so it was perfect for us. We could buy fresh local products, bring them back, and enjoy meals outside at a lovely table with a sea view. The staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. We absolutely recommend staying here and truly hope to return someday!

We stayed in the Aldeia das Adegas for one week and we were very happy to stay in this small holliday village with 10 different houses for cuples and families. Our house was the last one and had also a sea view. It was inside and outside very clean and we found all the important objects that you need. The kitchen is also very modern with dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine for capsules, toaster, water cooker, microwave, oven and induction cooktop and more. There is also enough dinnerware to cook. We were also very happy with the owner and they were everytime very kind and helpful in every concern. Especially we slept very good because of the quiet place and the nearness of a forest and it was also nice to have a talk to our neighbours. Close to it is a Spar to buy food or other things and the people was also very kind and helpful. Also a bus stop is nearby (but there are only 2-3 buses per day as on the hole Island) The Pico mountain house you reach with the car in about 30 min. And also Lajes in about 30 min. and Madalena in about 20 min. There is also a bath zone in the sea, that we tried out and we liked it because of the deepness and the clear water. There are also toilets, showers and a nice picknick area and enought parking places.

We loved staying here – and compared to most hotel rates, it’s quite a bargain. This place is for the more adventurous traveler who still desires a comfortable experience. If you prefer a five-star resort with 24-hour room service, you may want to look elsewhere. If you seek a memorable, authentic, local experience, this is the place to book. You get your own cabin, fully furnished with brand new appliances. It’s located in a sleepy neighborhood; so, you may want to bring a car (they have parking that you can arrange in advance). The views by day and by night are dazzling. The service is warm and friendly, and they offer a free shuttle to/from the airport if you don’t rent a car. Most tour groups will pick you up directly from here. Our recommendation: spend the day on a guided tour, sample some delicious Pico wines, buy a bottle for later, savor dinner, and then return to your cabin to sit on your deck, under the stars – enjoying all of the natural beauty that Pico offers.

I'm writing this as I'm sitting on the cute terrasse of our wonderful little house. We've had a very pleasant stay of 3 nights here and could have stayed much longer. The house is very well equipped, everything looks brand new. My husband, who loves to bake and cook, especially liked the kitchen with the new appliances. I liked the large and modern bathroom and it was great to be able to do laundry after a week of travelling. Also, the place is very conveniently located, not far from Madalena and the airport. Restaurants, Bars and Supermarkets are all reachable within a few minutes' drive. But the best part of Aldeias das Adegas is the exceptional service. The manager is super nice and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and provide us with anything we might need. This is what really made a difference. It was a memorable experience.

Awesome gem in Sao Roque, like a little village with separate houses. Very clean, beds are very comfortable, has all the the amenities you can thing of. Super friendly, extremely helpful staff. Outstanding, delicious breakfast delivered to your doorstep.

Staff were so lovely and helpful, place itself was spacious and kitchen had good facilities for cooking. Could've used more utensils (especially things like serving spoons) if possible! Bed was comfortable. Having parking onsite was brilliant - really hard to find anything nearby! Balcony views were gorgeous too. Cleaning happened every day unless otherwise specified and was very diligent. Liked the washing lines also, they proved useful! Location is great, very central and walkable from the port area & attractions. Able to store bags before checking in and enjoyed reading the guides provided!

The apartment complex is located in the center of Horta, in close proximity you can find restaurants, cafes, shops. There is free parking at the property, besides there is no problem to find free parking on the street. The apartment itself was nice clean, spacious and the kitchen was equipped with basic utilities ( one can easily cook some simple dishes) The apartment is bit older and here and there you can see some marks of usage but it's comfortable and totally fine. We were happy with the it and enjoyed the stay.

The location of this hotel is great, with a fantastic view across to Pico from the rooms facing the sea. Make sure you get a sea view room. This was the most expensive hotel that we stayed in on our tour of the islands and possibly could be considered a little overpriced, but we enjoyed the experience of staying within the old fort walls. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel were standard, not exceptional (although freshly squeezed juice and breakfast was great). Rooms may be considered a little bit old fashioned/tired and the shower was very small, but balcony made up for it for the short stay of 2 nights.

A unique stay in an old fortress right in Horta. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views of the marina and Pico across the water. The blend of historic architecture and modern comfort made it a really special experience. Rooms were spacious, comfy, and clean. Breakfast was rich, with local touches we appreciated. The staff were so friendly!

The balcony and the few from the hotel room was amazing. You see the sea, the sailing boats and the mountain Pico on vis a vis island, where behind the mountain the sun raises every morning. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast has a big selection. Location perfect vis a vis Supermarket, Restaurant and direct at the harbour, where the whale watching and other tours can be booked and start.

We first had a normal room, but these were really a bit small. For 50 Euro a night extra we got a suite, which is like an apartment and has a separate bedroom and a big balcony. You have a spectacular view on mount Pico and the harbour. The staff are very nice, the building is an old fort and the entire feeling is one of a Spanish Parador. To be honest, I believe this is one of the few luxury hotels on Faial (but I did not visit all the others:)). When you leave, there are plenty restaurants and bars in walking distance. The restaurant of the hotel is also very good, but the menu is very very short and did not change during our stay. We got a later check out without trouble.

This property is a 16th century fortress repurposed as a hotel. Our room had a view of the harbor and it was very entertaining watching the yachts come and go. Our room (#106) was large enough, nothing fancy, but had a relatively large balcony with table and chairs. The bathroom was a little tight. Our room had air conditioning which we used only at night. There has been some……. to the room and bath, …..: Service at the front desk was good, especially from Ricardo. The breakfast buffet was decent and they will make made to order entrees even though they don’t promote the service. There are some shortcomings. Twos. 1. While in our bathroom we could clearly hear conversations from the bathroom in the room directly above us and also noise from doors shutting, closets closing etc. in adjacent rooms and 2. the WiFi connection and throughput from our room was inconsistent. Also, there was quite a bit of mold in our bathtub - a pet peeve of mine. But in all, a great location and decent hotel.

I enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The location is great if you plan to do activities from Madelana, CW Azores is just round the corner, as are many tour/car rental/cafes and the ferry terminal is just over the road then it's a short hop over to Faial for the day. The room was comfortable, in good condition, cleaned every day and mine had a lovely view from the balcony to Mount Pico. Staff were polite and helpful with a speedy check in when I arrived moment's after a large group and allowed a slightly later check out to accommodate a trip I had booked. The pool is far from Olympic size but it is clean and decent enough to top up the tan and have an afternoon dip and the WiFi works out there. Breakfast is a very well stocked buffet. You'd be hard pushed to think of a breakfast food they don't have. It's not 5* luxury but I wasn't planning on spending my days hanging out in a hotel. It's a comfortable, clean and convenient place for a reasonable price.

I am really puzzled by all the very negative reviews. I stayed here for 6 nights as part of a whale and dolphin watching trip, and it's a very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. I would really recommend it if you are coming to Pico. Particularly as it's almost opposite the ferry terminal and really close to the whale and dolphin trips out - five minutes away. I don't know if it's been upgraded recently but the bathroom in our room was in excellent condition, no damaged tiles or grouting as you would expect in something inferior. The beds were comfortable, the room was big enough for two people with wardrobe capacity, a desk, a fridge, two chairs and the curtains were of good quality. The air conditioning worked well, and so did the TV and wifi. We had breakfast every day and there is a lot of choice and it's a nice good breakfast. The staff were pleasant and the rooms are cleaned and sheets and towels changed every day. There is comfortable furniture in the reception area to sit and wait for friends. The only slight negative is that they don't tell you about the safe - there isn't one in the room so I had to ask at reception. There are some safes next to reception that aren't visible unless you are shown them. So as it stands in May 2025, a lot of the negative comments aren't applicable in my opinion.

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this hotel. It is as close to the ferry terminal as you can get. , The rooms are clean and tidy. The pool has a nice view on Faial, and is beeing cleaned every morning (and they are probably the only ones having a pool in Pico anyway...) You can walk in less than 5 minutes to all the different tour operators (Diving, Hiking, Whalewatching, Rentalcars....) and restaurants. It is maybe a bit dated, but I felt like they were doing their best at being welcomig. They even organise a mini breakfast buffet from 04 a.m - 7 a.m for people leaving early on hikes or diving tours...! Keep in mind that every Airbnb in the area is more expensive , without offering you room service, breakfast or a pool area. If you come to Pico for its great nature activities, and want an easy hotel, thats your place to go!!

Nice clean hotel with lovely pool in a fantastic location. So close to everything. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Also a small early breakfast in the lobby for those leaving before usual breakfast hours, wich is a great idea. Some areas of the hotel are a bit dated. Rooms are clean and very quiet and good for sleeping but wifi was almost useless on the 3rd floor.

Location - in the city center, close to the harbour. Very good tasty breakfast. We had a nice surprise in the afternoon - received a basket with fruits - thanks! Room - clean & a small balcony - we had Pico view :) Professional friendly staff - good support with booking a taxi for us in the morning to the airport.

We had a very friendly and warm welcome from the owners, who were incredibly kind and helpful. They provided great suggestions for places to visit on the island and shared interesting information about the area. The guesthouse is very clean, with a pleasant scent throughout, and the kitchen is fully equipped and super tidy. I especially appreciated the reusable coffee capsules—such a great eco-friendly touch! The location is excellent, near the marina and the famous Peter Sport Café, with a big supermarket nearby for convenience. The view from the room must be amazing, but unfortunately, it was always foggy during our stay, so we didn’t get to experience it.

Everything was perfect and comfortable, wish I could stay longer! Everything was sparky clean, located in the center of the town but so quiet, and the owner was so friendly and helpful.

I don't usually post reviews, but for this place, I'm making an exception. We stayed here for two days, and the rooms were charming, authentic, and clean. From our room, we had a beautiful view of the port of Horta. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, providing us with a guide and recommending excellent restaurants. During our stay, we decided to do a 20 km hike. Elena advised us to message her if we needed a taxi back to the hotel afterward. As we reached the top of the mountain, it started getting dark, cold and misty and visibility became so poor that we could hardly see anything. I sent her a message around 9pm, and she was extremely helpful and kind. She immediately arranged a taxi for us. The taxi driver arrived, but due to the challenging road and weather conditions, we had difficulty locating him. He patiently waited for nearly an hour, trying to reach us despite the poor connection. Meanwhile, Elena was also doing everything she could to help us navigate the situation. Both of them were incredibly patient and supportive, and I'm deeply grateful for that. Eventually, we found the taxi and made it back safely. Special mention to Paulo, our taxi driver, who deserves recognition for his patience and kindness. If you ever need a taxi in Horta, Elena will gladly arrange for him to assist you.

Elena and Jerry where super nice and helpful. They gave us a lot of pointers about the city and the island, what made our stay waaaay better. than the made reservation for us in wonderful restaurant (it was our anniversary), booked a taxi. The place has a wonderful artsy vibe, is full of Jerrys work as well as other local artists. he can tell you all about it. the common kitchen is perfectly equipped, with great coffee, some biscuits etc. the rooms are super clean, comfy, and also beautiful. it is just perfec, it feels homy, not like holiday accommodation.

This very nicely decorated location is within walking distance of all the major sites of Horta and just a quick drive away from the main port. The owners are an absolute joy, very welcoming, friendly and informative. The room we stayed in was very large, with a large bathroom and even a little extra room with a desk and a view. The bed was very large with hard and soft pillows, so perfect for anyone. The large windows could be opened to let in the fresh air. There is also an equiped kitchen for communal use.

We had a really great stay at Pico Dreams! First of all the host was very friendly and gave us some restaurants recommendations. It was quite clean overall even the kitchen area which was shared by other visitors, they managed to still keep it clean. Fully equipped kitchen! We could find anything we needed for cooking. The room was very cozy and it felt like home. The ocean view from the balcony was amazing, so we could also had dinner there. Very pleasant stay!

We stayed in one of the double rooms, which is a guestroom inside the large Pico Dreams-Sportfish house. Our room had a futon, desk, TV, and ensuite bathroom. The kitchen and living area are shared in the house. This is like a mix between a bed and breakfast and a hostel. The living area (kitching and living room) are shared like a hostel but are much, much nicer, so the house itself has more of a bed and breakfast feel. The bed was comfortable and the view of the ocean from the house was very nice. (You can see Mount Pico on a clear day.) Like most houses on Pico Island, there isn't central heating. It did get cold during our November stay, so we used the space heater and blankets they provided. (If you are visiting during off-season, be prepared for cold nights.) The owner is very friendly, and the whole house was very clean. Unfortunately, Wifi is only available in the lobby/living area, which is stated clearly on the hotel description. (Even though the guestrooms are just a few yards away from the living area, the Wifi signal immediately disappears when you approach the room.) Because this is a house, there isn't a full-time lobby staff so you may have to call the owner to check-in.

We had an amazing stay! The property is so beautiful with a breathtaking view on Sao Jorge! Our room was very comfy, super clean. The commun rooms are really clean and there is enough space to hangout and have a good time. The location is great and they provide a taxi service which is cheaper than the taxi company on the island. But the best from this place is our host! This lovely couple who are so welcoming, sweet, friendly and available for their guests! They are making you living the dream with them! Thank you again for this amazing moment!

Pico Dreams is a beautiful Accomadation set back off the road in a quiet location but also walking distance to some restaurants, grocery stores and the ocean. The sunsets everynight where beautiful and beautiful outside patio. The rooms where spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was great with a big dining area with great views. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. I spent 5 nights there and was very happy with everything

Wonderful location, in a quieter part of Pico than the much busier Magdalena area, but still with restaurants, supermarkets and banking machines easily available. Peaceful, with beautiful views of the ocean and Sao Jorge island. Shared kitchen is good for limited food preparation. There are some ants and other bugs around, but this is not unexpected for a place surrounded by nature and where the windows and doors are open most of the time. Rooms are small and basic, but come with individual outdoor patios and very nice shared areas. I did not use the pool or the free loaner bikes, but the washer and dryer were a godsend after hiking in the heat and humidity. Very good wifi. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. You have to tell them the day before if you want the 9 euro breakfast, but I would do it at least once. Huge selection of delicious items -- best meal I had in the Azores. There is a very nice ocean natural pool for swimming less than a kilometer walk, with showers and changing rooms.

We had room nr 5 at the front of the building. As H18 is a little up the hill, we had gorgeous views of Horta and the ocean and the island opposite Pico and its majestic mountain. H18 is modern and fresh. Our room was spacious and bright and very quiet at night, with a tiny terrace with sea views. Bed was good and shower strong. Breakfast was nice in the morning, with good nespresso coffee and a selection of bread, cheese and ham, marmelade and yoghurt. Parking is easy in front of the building.

We loved our stay here. The hosts were super nice and helpful. There was a delicious breakfast in the mornings with homemade items such as yogurt, jams and cake to go along with the other breakfast items. Coffee and cake were available throughout the day. There was labeled spaces in the fridge to leave your items and then kitchen had all of the cooking items you would need. The rooms were nice with a little balcony and great view of Mount Pico. Great location on the island.

H18 is very nice hostel that exceeded my expectations. The rooms where clean, with clean towels etc. and a private mini balcony,+ breakfast included and coffee machine was available in the kitchen day long. The doors had passwords which was very convenient since we checked in Sunday and there was no reception. Joana had provided us the passwords prior to the arrival and didn’t affect (negatively) our experience at all. Overall, I highly recommend H18 as a VFM hostel in Fayal Island. Joana thanks for everything and the hospitality!!

The hosts were wonderful, even helping me with dinner reservations. Quiet location overlooking Horta. Space is clean, bright, and comfortable..loved the view of Pico from our window. Breakfast was simple but very good I enjoyed the homemade yogurt. Definitely recommend H18!
