I stayed at this guest house for 6 nights as I was doing my aesthetics training course at Jessica Megan studios which was only 3 minutes drive from the guest house , perfect location . Great communication from the landlady all through my stay if I needed her or had questions. House very secure, locks on all the bedrooms, very clean and airy. Beautiful house in general. I had read some reviews which were a little off putting but I decided to give it a chance and I'm very glad that I did . Price and location were great and the house was clean , warm and secure at all times . The front door is always locked at all times , you collect your keys from the lock boxes outside by the front door. kitchen , living room clean and cosy but I didn't use these facilities. There is a cleaner that comes in also . I originally booked a budget double room but then decided I wanted more space , wardrobes and a mirror of course , I was upgraded for no extra money, which was lovely. Would definitely stay again . The property & facilities were extremely clean & presentable. Front door was secure as had to be locked at all times. The facilities were amazing including use of washing machine, dryer, tea/coffee making utensils etc. Also there was simple food available like bread butter packet food. Downstairs communal living room attached to kitchen was like a home from home. Shared bathroom facilities were clean & secure.

Everything about this guest house was perfect, comfortable, clean and homely

The property is very clean and neatly kept. Rooms feel very cosy and comfortable. The only reason i did not give 5 stars is because there is only 1 toilet/bathroom to share amidst 3 or 4 rooms which i think it's the nature of the property though.

Everything. It was a very nice environment perfect for family and friends. Rooms had en suite and living room had beautiful led lights. It was very spacious and also has a jacuzzi

The beds were comfortable and the hottub was lovely a great family getaway house

Apartment was in a very good condition clean, smelling fresh and tidy we felt like home. The indoor hot tub was amazing. The rooms are good size all with new bedding and upto date. Communication with Joanna for enquiries was so thorough lovely lady to speak to. The temperatures dropped to -2 in the night however heating was on throughout which made the apartment so cosy. A day before our arrival we came across a negative review despite reading so many positive ones made us very anxious about our stay it wasn't something we wanted to read a day before our travel however after communicating with joanna who put us at ease. The apartment did not have any cokroaches,infact apartment was very clean there was plenty of parking on the street and our deposit of 250 was refunded back into our account on the day of our departure. I would definitely recommend this apartment whoever is thinking to book it you will not be disappointed for sure. Amenities are all closeby. Hopefully will be booking again

From the start, the owner was amazing, very helpful, and always there if you needed anything . The location is very close to the city centre and the place is very good value for the money . Hot tub room is amazing. Everything is very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend 👌

Top of the list for me! I was so impressed with our time here I can’t fault this property. It was immaculately clean with plenty of bedding, towels and toiletries.. kitchenware and everything else you could need for a comfortable stay. The communication with the host was second to none… Available, friendly and helpful, before during and after. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. This property is just 10 mins Uber from Manchester City centre. Cleaners full of smiles and manners. Thank you… We will be back.

Our stay at the Pack Horse Inn was incredible. It was a last minute stay on our way up to Yorkshire but we ended up wishing we had extended our stay here. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, providing great customer service throughout our stay The rooms were spacious, warm, cosy and clean and the selection of tea and coffee within the room were welcomed after a long drive. The bathroom was also immaculate and the shower was great. All in all couldn’t fault the room at all. The pub itself was cosy and exactly what you think of when it comes to a traditional country pub. The food was incredible! Such a great menu and far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast also was exceptional with many options and the fact it was included in the price was amazing. We had the eggs Benedict and the bacon roll which were delicious Will definitely be returning.

Old country inn with views across rolling hillsides. Double room with large bed which creaked loudly when you moved. En-suite was a little cramped but had modern shower over bath. Efficient central heating though thermostat had no markings to say how to control. Breakfast was good However fruit already placed in bowls and didn’t spot any Greek yogurt. Coffee was good and the toast excellent. Cooked breakfast was tasty and plentiful but looked as if some elements had been precooked and kept hot Sunday Lunch was tasty and again plentiful served in the dining room or the bar - in good atmosphere Staff very helpful and pleasant. Would recommend staying there. Good car park and there is beer garden for the summer

Great cosy hotel in a beautiful location. We booked a superior room and it was huge with a great view. The hotel was very clean and the furnishings were high quality. The location was peaceful and there was no noise from other rooms deapite the hotel being fully booked. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful - there were vegetarian and gluten free options too. Coffee was very nice! The only thing that could be improved would be a small fridge in the room, or the usual long life milk pods. Milk was provided in a stainless steel flask so stayed cold for a few hours but I couldn't make a coffee when i woke up which was disappointing. Wonderful coffee machine in the room though with a great selection of pods. Free and easy on site parking. Friendly and helpful staff. The pub looked wonderful - we didn't get chance to eat there but I would next time! I would love to visit the hotel again.

Absolutely great place to stay. Rooms are lovely - high quality furnishings and bathrooms, spacious, spotlessly clean. Thoughtful touches like fresh milk in a cold thermos in the room rather than plastic tubs. The breakfast was superb - generous portions, lots of choice, thick cut bacon, fresh fruit salad and proper coffee (a rarity indeed!). The pub food in the evenings was very tasty and lots of choice. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Lovely views across the hillside. Plenty of parking.

We had a lovely two night stay at the Packhorse Inn. The landlady was very welcoming when we arrived even though it was late in the evening, and the staff were all cheerful and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean and spacious and the bar, restaurant and courtyard were all very well maintained. The breakfast was plentiful and there was plenty of choice for a lunchtime or evening meal. All the food was well presented and tasty.

Awesome 1 night stay for my partners 40th Birthday. The room was Epic....we loved all the quirkiness.....Guitar, Turntable, Shower Beer......Sweets & More (bed was super comfy & couldn't hear anything outside our room, slept like a baby). We had problems with the keg in our room but the staff were on it straight away to attempt resolve the issue.... they kindly credited us to use beers in the room, bar food & more...which actually turned out better for us 🤟 The Staff were amazing...super friendly, helpful & polite...cheers!! Meals & Breakfast were super tasty, super laid back bar/restaurant area. We would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here & we will be back again 🍻👌🍻

Excellent hotel, good central location close to transport links and restaurants, bars and shops. All staff were very friendly and helpful Food both breakfast and other meals were amazing. You got what it said on the menu. Good price as well. Beer was outstanding, especially the guest beers Room was very good, large, clean, warm and comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit.

Fabulous quirky hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, perfect central location, spotlessly clean, great breakfast & lovely comfy bed. We were worried that it would be noisy being above the busy bar but very quiet.

Had an excellent stay in April 2025. We stayed in the upgraded room and added the beer shower package - absolutely worth the money! The room was spacious, with a fully stocked mini bar and treats to buy while in the room (which were very tempting). The staff were fantastic and so helpful. We were able to drop our bags off before check in (which were taken to our rooms) and they held our luggage for us while we explored Manchester the next day. You are also given a voucher for a free drink in the bar and £15 credit on food. We used ours to have dinner - which was delicious. We will definitely be coming back again!

We had a lovely stay at Dakota Manchester. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding — warm, welcoming, and professional throughout. The staff really went above and beyond to make our stay special. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with a modern, moody vibe — it feels luxurious without being over the top. Our room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and the rainfall shower was a great touch. We had dinner at the Dakota Grill and were really impressed — the food was absolutely fantastic. Great menu, beautifully cooked, and the service in the restaurant matched the rest of the hotel: attentive but relaxed. Highly recommend the steak! We also enjoyed drinks in the bar, which had a great atmosphere and excellent cocktails. The location is ideal too — close to Piccadilly Station and walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay again. A great city break with style, comfort, and truly excellent service.

Exceptional, staff were friendly and very helpful from the moment you walk in, this also includes the gentleman who takes care of valet parking. The rooms are clean and spacious and very modern, truly 5 stars! The bed itself is probably one of the best i have slept in! Lovely touches like a nespresso coffee machine, and fridge in the room too! The bar is a very nice place to relax, great atmosphere with a very premium feel. Breakfast is also good! Very high quality with no complaints at all! Dakota is now my go to when visiting manchester and will be my 1st choice in any other city they are in! On a side note, the valet parking is worth every penny, car kept safe, with lovely finishing touches of a couple of bottles of water and a new air freshener for my journey home!

I have stayed at many hotels in my life, and Dakota Manchester is truly outstanding. There is not a single thing I can think of which could be better. The stellar reception staff, the quiet and very clean rooms with cozy lighting, the amazing "rainforest style" shower, the comfortable bed and pillows, the breakfast... And the central location to top it all off. I can't think of a single reason why I wouldn't stay here the next time I come to Manchester.

This hotel has everything you need! Absolutely perfect location, 8-10 minutes in an uber, but even if you want to walk it isn’t even that far to the city centre. Lovely arrival, staff are super friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself is stunning, the vibe is very relaxing and such a stunning hotel. The rooms are so lovely and luxurious, one of the nicest sleeps I’ve ever had, blacked out blinds and curtains for a peaceful sleep and the shower is just divine I didn’t want to get out. The valet parking is 24 hours, extra £40 but so worth it as you can keep the car there the next day depending what time you arrived if you wanted to venture out into the city for the day so I’d definitely recommend having the parking, there is a car park just down the road but I’d rather have my car in their car park, they even put water and mints in your car before you leave which is such a nice little gesture. 100% will be returning to this hotel again, thank you for your hospitality.

Wonderful hotel in probably the most ideal location in the city center. Walkable to shops, restaurants and entertainment and felt comfortable day and night there. The room was very elegant, comfortable and cozy. Shower is amazing, bath tub as well! Overall a very attentive staff and comfortable stay. Also the bar in the basement is amazing!

What a perfect hotel. We stayed one night in June 2025. Everything was superb. Check-in was lovely--a seat in a lounge, a glass of bubbles, and an attentive, welcoming staff member. A concierge showed us to our room, delivering our bags, and went through the room's features. He was extraordinary, and he had great recommendations for Manchester, too. The room was gorgeous--large, high ceilings, beautifully designed furnishings, thoughtful details, plenty of outlets, great lighting, high water pressure in the bathroom, a well-stocked minibar. And an extremely comfortable bed--we slept perfectly. Each room is different due to the hotel's historic character. That is really neat. The lobby is small and pretty, with gorgeous fixtures. We had breakfast in the restaurant, which is in the old trading floor--a beautiful space. The breakfast menu was a nice mix of traditional offerings and some more interesting offerings. Service was exceptional and the food was good. The location proved extremely convenient for exploring parts of Manchester. I cannot think of a single complaint--from location to room to food to staff, this hotel set a standard to which I wish all hotels aspired.

Beautiful hotel with a great location and outstanding attention to detail in all areas. From the champagne on arrival in the cosy lounge and the friendly and welcoming reception staff, beautifully appointed room, which was spacious, immaculately clean and fully equipped with everything you could need. The restaurant is stunning, room service delicious and prompt, the bar has a really good vibe, everything was wonderful. Our stay was made even better by the concierge Nigel, he gave us recommendations for places to go that suited us perfectly. Without Nigel’s perseverance to get us a set of crutches on a Sunday afternoon, we wouldn’t have been able to leave the hotel, he was the epitome of the perfect concierge and I can’t praise him highly enough! Fantastic place with amazing staff. I highly recommend!

The staff were all so attentive, loved how upon check in we were brought into the welcome room for a glass of champagne, a lovely touch and unexpected. Ben or Dan (sorry can’t remember his name) was so lovely and gave us a tour of the hotel explaining all the history which we loved! The vault bar was a real highlight, so cosy and romantic and again all the staff were amazing in there. The room was lovely and modern, loved the touch of fresh milk in the fridge! Bed extremely comfy too. We both left thinking this is our new favourite hotel in Manchester as we were so impressed! Only thing I think that would make it even more exceptional would be having an operating restaurant as the dining area is so beautiful.

Our room was immaculate—luxurious yet comfortable, with high ceilings, elegant decor, and all the thoughtful touches you’d expect from a five-star property. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom felt like a private spa. The location is also unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, but still quiet and peaceful inside. We loved being just a short walk from Manchester’s best shopping, dining, and cultural spots. This hotel sets a new standard for luxury in the city. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. If you’re visiting Manchester, do yourself a favour and book the Stock Exchange. We can’t wait to return!

Quiet, country location but convenient for Manchester. The room was beautifully decorated, with luxurious fabrics, a four poster and antique furniture. The bathroom was very modern with a super shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely touch of a small decanter of sherry and sherry glasses. So thoughtful. The room was wonderfully peaceful, parking great for my husband's precious car and location next to a pub so convenient for an evening meal. Lovely garden with seating available to use. However, the real highlight was breakfast - oh my goodness, it was wonderful. Christian is an amazing chef, food was divine, so beautifully presented and SO much choice! Considering he was alone whilst we stayed (owners on holiday), Christian was calm, polite, helpful and still produced food of an exceptional standard. We shall be back!

Friendly greetings , so comfy , clean , beautiful views , absolutely tasty breakfast and huge amount of choice on the menu . Rooms with coffee tea water , biscuits and even a sherry ! Bathrobes and toiletries too ! Garden to have a drink in from the resident bar ( we didn’t but bet it’s lovely on a warmer evening! ) country pub right next door with food menu . Dunham Massey walkable and the canal walk behind …perfect spot!

I checked in a little early and Janice came out as I was getting out of my car - she was very warm and friendly, and explained where everything was, making me feel at home; she even hunted out an umbrella for me to borrow! The room was comfortable and cosy and although I didn’t book my room with breakfast - it smelt amazing the next morning. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room (with delicious biscuits too!!). The only thing I could pick fault with is that the bathroom was separate to the room- but it was just across the landing so not a huge problem. Overall - beautiful and cosy... I would’ve liked to have stayed more than one night!!

My daughter and I stayed for one evening during a weekend of University visits in the area. We wanted a quiet relaxing location for a good night's rest and we weren't disappointed and had an amazing sleep. Very well appointed room, beautiful location and stunning view over garden. We were very impressed with the little extras like complimentary sherry in room and great choice of teas and coffee. The residents lounge and dining room were beautiful and very welcoming. We felt completely relaxed and at ease during our stay. The members of staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was simply outstanding and I definitely recommend the full english with black pudding.

Don’t expect sterile bright modern ambiance. It is a 200+ year old country farmhouse but it is so charming and and well kept with lots of period touches along with everyday conveniences. Clean, warm, with amazing traditional English touches - tea and teapot with biscuit jar in the room - Sherry decanter but bright clean modern bathroom with powerful shower. Dining room for amazing selection of homemade breakfasts and An evening parlor for a glass of wi e to serve for yourself. Very welcoming owners who do the serving and cooking. Lovely walks directly from the farmhouse and pub next door. Will definitely use again when I have to be in that area.

Service was exceptional. Breakfast really tasty and good choice. Dinner was very good and not too expensive. Much better than in a restaurant in Didsbury center. Very comfortable King bed, cozy room, nice shower. I liked very much fresh milk in the fridge in the room for coffee. Convenient location. Nice home atmosphere.

Fabulous hotel. Beautiful room, spotlessly clean and really luxurious. Huge bed, comfy sofa and chairs and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Roll top bath was great, and rainfall shower was also appreciated. Fresh milk in fridge and decent sized mugs and glasses for drinks! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast too. Staff were really friendly and super helpful. We would happily return!

Strongly recommend to try breakfast in the restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Location is great as this is one of the best area near Manchester.

Very comfortable, spacious room with lots of facilities - even a coffee maker. Good wifi connection in room. Gorgeous rain shower, heated towel rail! Good continental breakfast, especially fruit and yoghurt. Friendly staff. Beautiful decor. Lovely quiet location; parking.
