10 out of 10. The penthouse takes up an entire top floor with a Jacuzzi and an amazing view. I was really impressed with the level of opulence and attention to detail. Dinner and breakfast were just as good with many options presented.

We had a lovely spacious room with a large terrace and jacuzzi. The hotel is beautifully furnished, the outside spaces are very attractive and the food is excellent. My wife enjoyed the spa treatments and facilities. The staff are brilliant. We booked the hotel airport transfer, well worth the outlay.

Hyper friendly staff, great assistance with tours, sightseeing and arranging car transportation by the friendly hotel staff. Great restaurant with excellent meals and wine. Great full English breakfast. Honestly, cannot recommend with more enthusiasm. Try it!

Huge and well-appointed rooms/suites. Our suite (#15) not only had a large shower and soaking tub, but also a sauna downstairs plus a jacuzzi and pool w private patio! Extremely quiet and safe location. Numerous services, including airport transportation and an excellent restaurant. Highly r commended.

Stayed here for a night. Just to get away and this place is a gem. We were treated like royalty. The food was amazing. Afternoon tea is superb. At night I took a shower outdoors. Room had private deck with jacuzzi and shower. The grounds are emaculate. So many sitting areas. Spa treatments. ..food complimentary sherry and wine in the room

Fabulous hotel! All the staff were friendly and so attentive. We stayed for two days without leaving the hotel and it was treat after treat. We booked a suite and enjoyed our balcony with jacuzzi. Bathroom was large and very beautifully presented. Spa treatments (body scrub and hot stone massage) were wonderful. Breakfast buffet was of finest quality and you could choose from a hot menu too. We also enjoyed our casual lunch and dinner and I thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Loved having a fridge with complimentary drinks and fresh milk for tea. Lots of beautifully furnished lounges to sit in and an amazing fishpond. Didn’t use the small gym but it had a good range of equipment. Everything has been thought of. Can’t wait to go back!

We had an absolutely lovely stay at the InterContinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo! Even though we were only there for one night, everything about our experience was exceptional. The staff are some of the friendliest and most welcoming we’ve ever met. Our room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly quiet—exactly what we needed before our flight. The location couldn’t be more convenient—it’s literally just steps from the airport, which made everything so easy for us. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and both the food and drinks were outstanding. We had dinner at Quills, and it was to die for! Breakfast the next morning included both a buffet and entrée options, and everything was absolutely delicious. Our server was so kind and attentive (I wish I could remember his name!). To make our stay even more special, guest relations surprised us with a romantic honeymoon setup—roses, a slice of chocolate cake, and a bottle of wine. It was such a thoughtful touch and really showed how much they care about their guests. The hospitality here is truly outstanding. When we returned a week later for a quick layover, the team actually remembered us and even recalled details about our trip—that level of care is rare and so appreciated. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you’re flying through Johannesburg, this hotel is an absolute gem!

An excellent welcoming, safe, airport hotel. The best choice here without a doubt. We were met by a friendly porter at the airport who escorted us on the 1 minute walk to the hotel. We requested this in advance, although in hindsight it felt very easy and safe going between the hotel and the airport. Every member of staff we met (restaurant, security, concierge, restaurant, housekeeping etc) were so helpful and so welcoming. Thank you. We booked a junior suite - spacious and nicely presented. The common parts of the hotel are also well maintained and tasteful. The hotel is so quiet - we didn’t hear a single plane. The concierge arranged to store our spare luggage whilst we head off on safari. Two small observations: a heated radiator for the bathroom would be useful and the air con unit in the bedroom was quite noisy. We look forward to staying here again in a few days, on return from safari. Excellent service in the perfect airport hotel. Thank you.

Just checked out of this lovely hotel! My room was fabulous — air conditioning that really worked! A shower that was like standing under Victoria Falls! And pillows and bed linens that were truly luxurious! I started my stay with a morning at the spa. This afternoon lab meant I was surrounded by care and attention after a very long international flight and, arriving at 7 am, knowing my room would unlikely to be available for several hours. I was SO fortunate to be paired up with my spa therapist, Albertina. She is small but oh so mighty as she completed an algae wrap and then a marvelous massage! Thank you so much for your care and attention — and the amazing slice of birthday cake to complete my treatment! Meals at Quills were very tasty! The breakfast buffet offered lots of fresh fruits, meats, cheeses and juice. The a la carte menu meant I did not have to wait in a line up for my tasty omelette but rather sit and enjoy my creamy cappuccino while my breakfast was expertly made and then delivered by Robson. Thanks to everyone at this wonderful hotel for making landing in Johannesburg so relaxing!

We always use this hotel to break the journey when travelling between London and Cape Town, direct Cape Town flights not always being available or grossly overpriced. Located just a stones throw from the airport, it is both convenient and safe. Rooms are well sized and very clean. Bathroom toiletries are of high quality. There is a good gym, a usable and warm indoor pool and treatments on offer are enjoyable and sensibly priced. The restaurant, Quills, serves a very good breakfast, both buffet and a la carte. It is also open both for all day lunch and then, with a different menu, for dinner. We are particularly impressed by the staff in this hotel. Polite, well trained, attentive. Very professional. In this regard I would also like to mention a senior waitress called Tumi who served us lunch today. A delight to have around. A shame that we cannot have more like her in our London hotels. We shall return.

Third time staying here at this gorgeous hotel steps from the Airport. Delightful greeting with happy staff serving bottled water and warm towel with check in. Rooms are quiet, large, and full of amenities for a comfortable yet luxurious stay. Dinner in the restaurant was again a lovely experience with creative , delicious foods and cocktails and excellent service from Anele! Breakfast is always a highlight with cooked to order and huge buffet options. Service is quick and cheerful. Thank you to Thabile! This hotel is beautifully decorated, well-kept and the flowers and landscaping outside exceptional. Hope to return!

The room was spacious and modern, including a lounge/kitchenette as well, both with a TV for Netflix. There is a small pool, but also an area of tables and chairs sitting in shallow water for reading a book and relaxing your feet at the end of the day. The Pablo restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to look after my bags before check-in.

We were looking for a nice hotel in a safe area, to spend 24-hours while waiting for our international flight. The Melrose Arch area was a pleasant surprise, and we felt safe to walk to restaurants and stores. The hotel is beautiful, the common areas are inviting and there were fresh flower arrangements everywhere (very classy). The room was super spacious and tastefully decorated. The breakfast buffet was artfully arranged and delicious, and the staff was extremally friendly and attentive. What a great place to stay!

Her warm spirit truly stood out, and I appreciated her attention to detail in noticing that it was my birthday the next day (18 July 2025). I had a wonderful stay at the African Pride Hotel in Melrose Arch. The rooms are absolutely beautiful—definitely not your standard hotel room. Stylish, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was out of this world—delicious, fresh, and with plenty of variety. The location is perfect. Melrose Arch is a vibrant and secure area, with great shops, restaurants, and galleries all within walking distance. It felt very safe to walk around and explore. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, style, and a great location in Johannesburg!

This place is absolutely fantastic, the staff are exceptional and cater for your every need with such a happy demeanour, the hotel bar headed by James serves cocktails to die for (espresso martini highly recommended) the breakfast is exceptional with both full buffet and individual menus and the food overall was superb. The rooms are stylishly decorated and have everything you need. Location is perfect too as it’s within walking distance of local bars and shopping. I will definitely stay here again, couldn’t recommend it more.

The location couldn’t have been more convenient - metres from the front of the arrivals hall. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well stocked with amenities and luxuries. The spa, pool and gym were perfect, with excellent sunset views over the airport and Johannesburg. The dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were flawless and extremely good value.

This hotel is the business. The staff can't do enough for you. They're wonderful. Stayed twice during my trip to South Africa and Botswana safari as a stop over between trips. The location is adjacent to the airport. Walk across from the arrival hall. The rooms are magnificent. Sit watching your tv from your marble bath in your marble bathroom sipping a glass of champagne. So many extras in the room. Staff are wonderful go above & beyond. Food is top notch 👌 restaurant & room service. Breakfast in the morning is the best. Set my alarm for this. Everything is available from a a variety of cooked breakfast options & a buffet. Cereals fruits cheeses breads nuts dried fruit pastries juices. Totally spoilt for choice & they know how to make coffee too. They have a chauffeured mercedes fleet to take you wherever you want to go & will return and collect you when you call. It will be even more super when the terrace is completed along with the garden area. Will definitely be staying at this hotel again when i return to Johannesburg

Everything was great. Being right in the airport terminal made it so safe and easy. The hotel sent a porter to help with all of our luggage and helped us again the next day guiding us on where to go. The entire process was seamless. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the good st the restaurant was delicious. The people were wonderful and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Located directly opposite the terminal we just needed a bed for the night. The room was comfortable and the bed had very nice soft linen. The bathroom featured a separate bath and shower. This is my preferred design. The restaurant on the ground floor served and excellent breakfast. Every member of staff was helpful and welcoming

The staff are all professional and welcoming; the room is spacious and luxurious and the service is always exceptional - even if you order an omelet and coffee at 4am. The hotel's proximity to the airport makes it an easy choice for transferring travelers.

The layout and lighting were outstanding; every detail was thoughtfully considered, providing both comfort and a touch of luxury. I will definitely be returning! My husband and I went for a brief stay at Seven Villa. We had the suite with a jacuzzi. Awesome!! Very relaxing. My hat off to the chefs. I am vegan and the menu options were limited but the taste and quality of the food more than made up for it. Chef Percy at breakfast was a gem too. He went above and beyond to make sure I had good food. I was impressed 😉

Not too far from any major city or suburb in the Joburg area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We were welcomed by incredibly friendly staff and felt very spoilt during breakfast and dinner time. The food was divine. The pool is huge and is great to relax at. There are awesome coffee and tea facilities which you are welcome to use any time. There is also solar back-up in the case of loadshedding, which is great.

The bed in the presidential suit is amazing! Literally felt as if I was melting into that bed, and I never wanted to wake up. Loved the heat level in the jacuzzi, too. Everything about this place was beautiful.

My husband and I loved everything about the hotel, all staff members are very friendly and welcoming, the welcome drinks we didn't even expect was a bonus, how the owner Mr Ndaba interact with his guests made us feel at home, the place is very clean, and rooms are luxury and eloquent, pictures on booking.com didn't do justice about the beauty of that place, very classy I will rate it 5 star hotel. The garden view during the day and the lighting at night was amazing, the dining near the pool and bar was a very relaxing place and we could go sit there and do some of our work peacefully, breakfast was well presented and delicious.I fell in love with the fishes on a fish pond, the experience to see colorful fishes play was amazing for me. We had the most wonderful stay at 24 on Basil Boutique Hotel last weekend! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the security team with a refreshing cold towel and a welcome drink—such a thoughtful touch. Check-in was seamless, and the manager was incredibly friendly and attentive. To our delight, we even received an upgrade, which we truly appreciated! The rooms were beautifully appointed, featuring a cozy living area, a well-equipped small kitchen, and a spacious bathroom with both a bath and shower. The towels were excellent, and every detail was well thought out. On our first night, we enjoyed drinks by the pool, which was absolutely lovely. The manager even popped around for a chat—he is extremely hospitable and made us feel right at home. While we didn’t have breakfast due to our own plans, we noticed the pool was sparkling clean, and the bar area was impeccably maintained. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic stay—nothing was too much trouble. This hotel is exceptional value for money, and we will most definitely stay here again. The rooms are spacious and the grounds are attractive. Breakfast is a little monotonous, which is not unusual for a hotel of this size. There is a good choice of food for the evening meal and it is of a high standard (extra cost). The pool is a jacuzzi and I didn't see anyone use it. Armand at reception is very helpful and will book you an uber taxi or lunch if you request it.

As a solo female traveler i had a lot of questions and Josie made me feel so safe and welcome from the very beginning! All the stuff is extremly kind and always ready to help. The Garden is wonderful, the room was cozy and clean. Dinner was delicious. And i loved the honesty-bar! Everything more than perfect for my first visit of SA. Thanks a lot!

Excellent in every aspect - I would recommend it without hesitation. Conveniently situated near the airport, but in a quiet location. Room was large, quiet and comfortable. The Lodge's lounge area with wood fire and honesty bar was extremely pleasant to relax in The dining is superb, for both breakfast and dinner. I have stayed there twice and look forward to returning next week. And the staff are all lovely.

It was very close to the airport and pick-up was arranged easily. Even though it is near the airport, there is no noise at all, the place was very peaceful. Breakfast was good and with vegetarian options, the room was spacious, and the bathroom was very nice as well. Wifi was working well. Staff was friendly as well as the owner. We were welcomed with the warmest of welcomes. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We really liked her. We had the emerald suite. The room was very spacious. Everything was nice, neat and clean. The garden is beautiful. Well kept lawn and koi pond and a little jungle gym for the kids to play on. The pool looked amazing but we couldn’t use it because of the weather. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. The decor and vibe is homely and cosy. I would definitely stay there and recommend it as well.

Some T.v channel did not work. Channels 201, 2013, 2014, 2015. Pricing was very confusing. Price quoted R1400. When I questioned this I was told it included breakfast. When I said I did not want breakfast, the price dropped to R 1000. Breakfast R400?????. Was asked to pay via booking.com which I did. Paid R1045 which included breakfast. When I asked if I could have breakfast, I was told it did not include breakfast. I had to explain that I paid for breakfast....a bowl of cereal.

The pictures definitely do not do justice to the place. It was amazingly breath taking, in a very quiet environment. A good place to rest and just unwind. The staff was exceptional in their service, very friendly and on point. The rooms are beautiful and clean and well ventilated. The view of the garden from my room was the perfect scenery one would love to wake up to in the morning.

It was incredible! An oasis in the middle of Johannesburg’s busy city. Felt like a home away from home. Magnificent garden with birds and a beautiful pond and gorgeous pool. Lovely balcony that overlooks the garden. Wonderful and kind team of staff who took great care of me and lovely breakfasts included in the stay. Amazing all round experience. I will be recommending to anyone and everyone I know going to Johannesburg. Gave me such peace of mind to come home to this space after crazy days on the streets of Johannesburg. So safe, secure, comfortable, elegantly staged rooms and much better than a boujie hotel in a busy city centre. It was a home away from home experience at an affordable price and with a team who treat you so warmly, like they are welcoming family back home to stay.

The accommodation is in the perfect location, the perfect gateway place to escape the city life. Our room was perfect, spacious, warm and we loved everything about the place. The staff welcomed us with warmth, we were assisted my Mellisa who made our stay so peaceful.

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly; with every stay at Witwater Guesthouse I'm always received and greeted with so much enthusiasm. The rooms and en suite bathrooms are generously spacious, beautifully furnished, clean and modern. All meals, be it breakfast or dinner, are well prepared, good size portions and delicious.

The interior of the property was very well thought out, comfortable, clean and spacious. The gardens were extremely well kept and the veranda and swimming pool provided a very relaxing outdoor area. Desiree, our host made us feel very welcome. Shepherd and Jimmy were extremely attentive at all times, taking us from and to the airport in a very comfortable car. Martha who was our chef for the night we stayed prepared us a wonderful meal. Fortunately we allowed ourselves enough time during our short stay to have relaxing massages from Jennie. We couldn’t have been look after better. Our advice to travellers is not to book at a large international airport hotel, choose Witwater Guest House and Spa instead.

This was an exceptional stay from beginning to end. I arrived quite late at the airport and lovely Jerry came to pick me up and checked me in with a welcome drink. My room was very comfortable and luxurious. Breakfast came with many options to choose from and was simply delicious. I also ordered lunch at the property later on and it was very tasty and well presented. I had a full-body massage, which was great. I cannot recommend this property highly enough!

I can only praise the staff Witwater guesthouse for their exceptional service, friendly smiles and accomodating approach. The facilities are clean, comfortable and make one feel home away from home. The area surrounding the guesthouse has improved greatly and should be regarded as a major plus point for this establishment. Safe and comfortable stay, definitely to be recommended.

The staff who met us were charming, friendly and efficient. We had a delicious dinner and an exceptional breakfast. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was palatial. So we were very happy for 16 hours between flights.
