We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 6 nights and found it very clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was really comfortable and the shower great. It was lovely to have a full size washing machine and dryer. It would have been nice to have a cupboard in the bathroom to put our toiletries and a clothes airer. The view from the living area was good and we even had a glimpse of the sea from our balcony. The kitchen was great and the only thing needed there was a salad bowl. Great range of glasses and a full size fridge. We had 2 fire evacuations on Xmas day due to someone cooking and setting off the fire alarm so maybe it would be a good idea to have a 1 minute button installed in the apartments.

We had a great stay in a deluxe one bedroom apartment. Our room was spacious enough for the two of us. It was clean and comfortable with a pool and gym. There was parking available & restaurants within walking distance and the reception staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We would happily stay here again in future!

The staff were wonderful and the apartment was safe, clean and very comfortable. I liked how the Honeysuckle Apartments are situated in a picturesque foreshore precinct which is close by to beaches, restaurants and shopping centres. A very enjoyable stay which I highly recommend.

Communication was great, the property was clean, beds were super comfortable. Great location near the wharf, lovely walk up to Nobby's beach. Good choice of restaurants near the apartment.

I love the location of the property, it is close to many restaurants and the tram station & has a little harbour view from the balcony. Room was tired, no channel 7 or 9 on TV in lounge room, hole in the wall inside the front door, broken decorative mirror in lounge room. Needs a good clean, cobwebs on nearly every interior window, orange lolly left beside fridge, labels still left on legs supporting desk, window shutters are dusty, couch seats run into middle of couch-very uncomfortable to sit on.

Upgraded to a more spacious King room for this return visit, and it was worth the additional cost. The rooms are modern and clean, the staff are professional and friendly, and the inclusion of breakfast is a great value add. Location is set slightly away from nightlife of the central CBD, providing quiet and value for money.

Stayed for a week on a business trip and had a very comfortable experience. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Newcastle Exchange. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and provided a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast was just adequate to start the day, and I particularly appreciated the unique beer tap–style coffee dispenser, which was very convenient & didn't have to wait for the traditional coffee machine to pour in a routine cuppa of choice. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly, ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay. Overall, this hotel is a reliable choice for business travellers, and I would consider staying here again for future trips.

The room was spacious with plenty of shelving to arrange my 3 days of belongings. Great bathroom, large shower, modern design, practical too. Also wonderful to get included charging in the car park. Parking cost $20 per night but safe & undercover so very convenient. Staff helpful & friendly. Breakfast included.

The hotel is modern, clean, and well maintained, with friendly staff who made the check-in process quick and easy. The location is excellent — close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions — and my room, though compact, was thoughtfully designed and spotless. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a great selection and quality that made for a perfect start to the day.

Decent rooms, comfortable beds, good shower, great central location close to public transport. Supermarket just across the road, easy access to restaurants and the beach. Buffet breakfast was actually better than expected too , good quality food, fresh, and decent variety available.

It was absolutely the best choice for us to stay at Rydges. They were a dream to deal with in every way. All staff were very professional while still very friendly. We loved the position on the waterfront! It was a lovely place to walk from along the boardwalk and around the wharf area. We really loved the outlook from our room, which as we booked, it was City View but we still had a very lovely view across water towards the old wharf and moored boats etc. We loved watching the tugs trundling up & down. It really is such an interesting place. It was a lovely quiet location. We are light sleepers but were not disturbed at all on the 4th floor! I loved the way our sleeping area could be shut off from the living space. There was a tv in the living room and another in the bedroom! The hotel breakfast buffet was great.. so fresh & well presented. The restaurant was fab! All wait staff were delightful & professional. The food was delicious! One night we just had a ‘small plate’ & it was fantastic!

Facilities are great, clean and tidy, nice and quiet. Beautiful view from the room, harbour views. Walk straight out the back of the hotel to the harbour walkway. Staff are amazingly helpful, friendly, and responsive to requests quickly and efficiently whilst super friendly. We were able to check in early which was fantastic as we had enquired about early check in the week earlier and had been told to ring the morning of arrival to see if possible as they could not guarantee a early check in, which was fantastic as we had travelled from interstate. Josh, the bartender on our first afternoon went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and able to relax after travelling from interstate. The buffet breakfast was amazing in the morning. Opted out of housekeeping as only there for two nights, but was pleasantly surprised to receive a $10 voucher to use throughout the stay as a thank you for being green. Will definitely be staying again in the future.

Rooms are clean, beds and pillows are super comfy, pool is fantastic, view is lovely. Breakfast and dinner were great and make a weekend away from the city so easy. The thing that really made our weekend break so enjoyable was the staff. Incredibly friendly and nothing is too much trouble. In particular, Kiara on reception and David who served us (and our very tired toddler!) in the restaurant for dinner were superb. Alex was also great with our little boy. We will be back!

Room was spacious and comfortable. Lovely view of the harbour. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and both were excellent. Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for one night in January and had an amazing time. We booked a balcony suite on the 4th floor. The room was spacious and very clean with a huge spa bath!. I probably wouldn’t book the balcony room again however, as is very compact and you couldn’t really sit out there and enjoy the view. We had a very comfortable king bed and the sofa bed folded out for the kids which they loved. There is stair access to all levels which is a great alternative to the lifts. There is also valet parking for $35 a night. Pool was great! And also has a slide which my boys spent hours on. There is a small games room and small park nearby. Staff were super friendly and always happy to help in any way. Location is fabulous! Can easily walk to all restaurants on honeysuckle. We packed the kids scooters and they used them up and down the foreshore. We will definately be back for another stay soon! Thankyou ☺️

Our recent stay at Gateway Inn over the weekend was a pleasant experience. The room was generously spacious, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the atmosphere was quiet—perfect for relaxation. There was plenty of parking available, which added to the convenience. The provision of ample tea, coffee, and biscuits was a thoughtful touch, and having restaurants on-site was a big plus. Overall, it was a very good stay and exceptional value for money. While the room felt a bit outdated and the WiFi reception could use improvement, these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise satisfying experience.

Staff were lovely, slightly overpriced, but convenient, clean and safe. I lost my hearing aid whilst checking out, staff were amazing and immediately helped locate and return to me. Would happily stay again. No complaints at all.

Booked a 2 bedroom apartment and it had more than enough space for even more people. The layout of the rooms and the amenities in the room were just perfect! Will definitely come back. The staff were very professional and respectful. Oh, and the free coffee in the lobby at checkout, that was a nice touch. 10/10

Car park isn’t big enough to accommodate enough rooms, car was to high to park over at the leagues club, struggled getting a park when we came home about 9pm. Other then that the accommodation was amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful with all our requests

We were in a very modern 2b/r apartment on the top floor (7th). Bathrooms and living areas were very clean. Nice big balcony. Comfy beds. Basic amenities in the apartment (cutlery etc) but we didn’t mind too much as we ate out quite a bit and didn’t cook at all. The apartment is in a great location opposite the foreshore. Lots of restaurants and cafes around, all within walking distance. Its a 15min walk to Woolies/Coles/Big W. The gym and pool are both very clean and well kept.

Very friendly welcoming staff on arrival and very helpful with all my questions as first time in Newcastle. Clean and comfortable rooms very clean .

The room was spacious and spotless, great bathroom new appliances all top end comfy bed. Large tv in lounge and bedroom. Not sure about the parking complaints! All day public carpark literally at back of building with four and two hour zones 9 to 5pm you could stay all day alternating zones for under 20 dollars. Use the app and don't leave your bed to start it up at 9am :) 30 second walk from main door if that. We accessed our van regularly. Bonus Free overnight parking from 5pm. Great for our small motorhome. The rate for our stay was amazing and excellent value. Right across from waterfront and lots of restaurants. Staff are available till 8pm at reception. We could not fault it. We will recommend :)

Quiet and omg the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. So comfy hope all the ends are like that. Room had a view of courtyard and pool. Room was spacious and clean

Crown on Darby is a fab location. Easy walking to just about everything, restaurants, cafes, entertainment and the waterfront. We were overwhelmed with the size of the living area. The balcony off the bedroom is a waste of space, the space could have been utilised better for a wardrobe or a bigger bathroom. The bathroom is small and the water from the shower leaks out between the shower screen and bath. The safety to get into the shower is a little daunting. The mattress was a little soft for us and the pillows too high and firm. Cleanliness was faultless, a few light globes not working, no safe for valuables, no luggage stand/rack for suitcase. Previous places we've stayed for this price had all of these things plus own laundry. Constructive feedback for our personal stay.

We stayed at Crown on Darby for a weekend trip and it was excellent. The location is close to everything and paid parking was convenient and reasonable. The receptionists are also very helpful and friendly. The room itself was big, clean and comfy. We also enjoyed using the fitness centre.

We loved our stay at The Crowne on Darby- the apartment was amazing! So spacious and beautifully furnished! The location was central to a huge range of coffee shops, cafe's and restaurants- walking distance to everything and everywhere we wanted to go! We'll definitely stay again!

ideal location,well appointed apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which was perfect for 2 couples. Short walk to Honeysuckle where you can dine and enjoy a drink at a choice of venues. 2 carparking spaces was convenient for us as the 2 couples travelled separately to the apartments. Comfortable beds, really good showers and a well appointed kitchen made our stay much better. The only 2 things that were a slight disappointment was the front door didn't lock and as it was a long weekend it made it hard to get a locksmith to site to fix it so we improvised with a broom and a chair and maybe an A/C unit in each bedroom would cool them down even more on the hot summer nights.(there was 1 A/C unit in the living area but it didn't fully cool both bedrooms down) Great view of the harbour and a good sized balcony with comfy chairs was a good place to relax in the afternoon after being out and about in the really hot weather over the weekend.

Very clean apartment with beautiful bedding. Very comfortable. Views were lovely. Nice to have secure undercover parking as street parking restricted and quiet expensive although if it were a little cheaper that would be a bonus. Great coffee shop on corner and food shops only 5 minutes away. Would definitely stay here again.

Great apartment just on the edge of the city centre. About a 10-15 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants of honeysuckle and tram stop a couple of minutes walk. Apartment is really well equipped and very clean and spacious. Great view out over the harbour. Small supermarket 5 mins walk away and larger shopping centres about 1.5k away.

Check in was simple, staff very helpful, restaurant excellent. Room comfortable, free onsite parking, tea and coffee facilities in room (including biscuits), big TV, quiet even though its a pub (may be different on Friday/Saturday nights), good little desk to use laptop for work. I have stayed at another more expensive place in Newcastle with none of the above apart from the bed being comparable in comfort. I would choose the Delany every time.

The room needs some improvements. It needs a comfy chair to sit on (there is ample room for one), some furniture is a bit worn around the edges ( especially the wardrobe), the kettle could only be boiled in the bathroom as there was no easily accessable power point in the main room, and even though parking was available on site, it was a council controlled carpark with daytime restrictions and no dedicated hotel guest parking spots. However, the room was modern, in good clean condition, air conditioned, very quite and the bed was very comfy.

So convenient . The diggers Club right next door for breakfast lumch or dinner. You get a members discount cause your staying at the hotel . Shopping centre and town a walk away . Perfect if you need to stay to support family at john hunter . It was quiet , safe , easy parking and rooms were bigger than normal . The staff were so friendly and the manager was lovely .

The location was perfect for our needs. The motel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had what we needed. The Diggers club was straight across the carpark making it easy to access for breakfast which was delicious. I would recommend staying here if in Newcastle. I will be staying there again.

This hotel is amazing, near honeysuckle station, go downstairs and cross one road then it s beach, ( not Newcastle beach) Nice environment, service, very modern and intelligent inside the room, when you go in, the blinds and curtains opened automatically. With some lights, big ceiling to floor window, nice shower products, basically small but has everything inside even a small fridge too. Free coffee capsules and coffee machines, 3 kinds of milk inside, we got two little chocolate balls as welcome gift, Level 2 is library with drink machines. Free hot chocolate/ tea/ coffee. Downstairs there is a coffee shop serve brunch( Monte) nice place to live in, very comfy, will definitely order again when visit!!

Wow, we had a fantastic stay at The Little National. What a fab hotel with such amazing facilities. They have a fantastic library, perfect if you are travelling for work! Beautiful bar with delicious cocktails too! I didnt use the gym, but I checked it out and it was so clean and well equipped. The rooms are compact, but so well laid out - very happy with the comfy king sized bed! Over all, we had an amazing stay, and we'll definitely stay again!

The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I love all the modern designs and gadgets in the room. The bed is super comfortable. I had a great view from my room on level 7. The shower is amazing and all the products are delightful, meaning shower gel, shampoo, etc

Just had my second stay at this fabulous hotel. I honestly just love everything about it. The lobby smells so good! Staff are friendly. Rooms are very clean. Super comfy bed. Block out blind is excellent (woke up at 9am and thought it was the middle of the night). Amenities are great!! Big shower, lovely lighting, everything is automated. The plush dressing gown and slippers are a lovely touch. Discovered this time, the Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling, music in the shower was such a vibe. The library area is really beautiful and I love the coffee station and sparkling water on tap, cold water stations on each floor. Short walk to the venue i was visiting. Lovely view of the bay from my room. I'll definitely be back again!

The hotel is ultra modern and has everything you could possibly need. The rooftop bar was amazing and the staff there were so friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were also incredibly helpful and keen to answer any questions. It was convenient having the restaurant attached especially in the cold wet weather we were having. The food at Jana was delicious and the staff very accommodating.

I arrived late in the evening and they had the forethought to call in and make sure I was ok. So, the welcoming, friendly atmosphere and personalised service started before I even arrived. Parking is a bit of a nightmare but they do offer valet for $50 should you choose to use it. Cant expect too much being right in the middle of the city. Check in was a breeze and super friendly with staff on the desk doing anything they could to help with your stay or discuss the area. Personalised service continued when I got to the room with a cute handwritten note. My room was the usual QT blend of funky but refined & really spacious, with a really big bathroom. Bathtub was excellent, so comfortable to soak in. Bed was huge and comfy with pillows to choose from. As I arrived late I didnt get to use many of the facilities but the bar look very cool from a walk through. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Having stayed in QT hotels in the GC and Melbourne, we had high expectations of our stay in Newcastle - and we weren't disappointed. The staff were super-friendly and helpful, with some killer cocktails on the rooftop bar, and our room was oh-so QT! Location is really central to the main strip of bars and restaurants, and would definitely recommend taking advantage of the concierge parking as it's not easy to park that close to the hotel. The 1 br apartment was very modern and clean. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The kitchen & washing facilities in the apartment were good. The hotel is in a great location close to shops, restaurants, coffee and the river walk up to Nobby's Head. The view from the balcony looked straight out to the river and the cargo ships being escorted in and out of the Newcastle harbour, the largest harbour on the east coast of Australia handling over 2,200 cargo ships a year. The heritage railway precinct was right in front of the hotel. The amount of redevelopment going on in East Newcastle is unbelievable. It is a modern city with top restaurants and bars and one we will definitely visit again. We can highly recommend the Terminous Boutique Apartments.

staff were all very friendly. communication was smooth. Text msg was sent on the moring of trip to give us some tips on the checkin. a nice letter and snack bag were found on the desk for us. good view, clean n spacious room with a proper dinner table and sofa, strong hot shower, clean kichen etc, could not fault anything. Quiet at night, very convenient location to any tourist attractions. Did not have to drive to any where. close to good restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. I loved it and will definitely stay there again.

We had a most delightful one night stay in Newcastle at the Terminus Apartment Hotel. We’ve stayed in Newcastle many times but this was our first time staying harbourside. This location was much more preferable as it’s closer to the many cafes and restaurants of the area and the harbour front promenade walk and it is also less windy than the beach side area of Newcastle. Our huge 2 room apartment was clean, modern, very well appointed and had the most spectacular view from the bedroom and living area across the huge balcony out to the harbour. The Team at the hotel were all very friendly, professional and helpful. My only regret was that we had just one night booked but we will definitely make this our accommodation of choice for any future visit to Newcastle.

The hotel is a short walk from the tram that goes to the beach, city or train station.Convenience stores, restaurant and bar and cafes close by. There were interesting views from our front balcony room over old restored Railway Station and towards the river. Friendly staff and comfortable facilities - safe underground parking

The property was surprisingly large, there was a balcony with a view, decent sized bathroom and kitchen, comfy lounge and very comfy bed. The location was perfect, a 10 minute walk to the beach where we sat and watched whales go by and dolphins. Great eateries around and Woolies for the essentials. We sat and enjoyed the sunset at the bar down the road. A perfect location. Nothing was out of place, no complaints here at all. We want to come back with friends. There is a communal area downstairs we can use when the travel gang get together.

Lovely hotel, circular in shape, very complimentary how the architects have been able to configure the guest rooms to fit. The rooms are not oversized but very clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortable, pillows nice to sleep on, room amenities good, linen and towels clean and fresh, lifts fast and spacious, staff are friendly and willing to chat and provide local advice. The restaurant on the 9th fkoor provides great views of Newcastle CBD and the harbour. The only downsides being the disappointing size of available breakfast choices displayed. There were no breakfast cereal bowls anywhere to be seen, except for small bowls for canned fruit, the menu showed $25 for continental with plus +++++ for anything cooked, the extra $ being advised in quite small print, so be warned to read the menu properly, and leave the buffet alone, as the breakfast cost can rise significantly. The younger breakfast staff had to be asked to clear away used china and cutlery on three occasions, and walked past other tables with uncleared items etc, with only a more senior female waitress seen to always consciously clear tables after meals. The hot breakfast meals were very tasty, and well presented, so don't let any of the above put you off, they just need more training, as the hotel is lovely and a very convent place to stay in Newcastle and is highly recommended. Constuctively perhaps the F&B Mgr may have a look at the 'all inclusive' breakfast buffet of Fullerton Hotel, Martin Place Sydney.

Love the Crystalbrook hotel brand and the Kingsley doesn’t disappoint. Beautifully appointed, modern, comfortable and luxurious. The top level bar and restaurant are beautiful with great views, Spicer cocktail was a delight. Good breakfast buffet. We had dinner at Light Years, which was incredible and only a short walk from the hotel.

I want to thank the team at the Crystalbrook Kingsley hotel in Newcastle. I've been staying there for the past six weeks for 10 days out of every 14 days. Their team have made me feel very welcome and take the time to look after me. From making sure my car is ready for me at the front of the hotel every morning to the refreshing of the rooms to attending to my needs whims at the restaurants or their bars, I have no complaints. The beds are very comfortable and the pillowed are nice and fluffy. Their bars have local wines from the Hunter Valley and are enjoyable and well priced. Their menus, whilst not very extensive offer a nice range of dishes, the baked salmon being one of my favourites as well as the Belgium chocolate semi-fredo dessert that is made there in house - absolutely delicious (so good I had it several nights in a row over a nice muscat). Thanks to the team there but especially Josh, Crystal, Bella, Renay, Quinn, Suzé, Corey, Zac, Marius, Harry and Kate for making my stays in Newcastle my home away from home. My only regret was that I wasn't able to have breakfast there due to my very early morning departures for my site-based work. I hope to be back soon but my time there will always be held as special memories in my heart.

Honestly everything, from the first phone call about check in time to the last conversation soon check out everything was amazing . We were able to check in early which was phenomenal as we had been up and travelling since 3am that morning. The room was beautiful the whole room was modern but comfortable and functional (especially loved the convenience of all the light switches next to the bed) . We woke up Saturday morning and headed up to the included breakfast and to say we were blown away is an understatement. The variety of breakfast options and all food we had was 10/10 . The service was amazing friendly and warm no question was ever too much (and we had a lot 😂) .thank you so much for having us we will definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to anyone who will listen .

Beautiful establishment. Bed was so comfortable and the room was clean and well presented. The staff were all very courteous and professional. The bar upstairs is great for a few drinks and the buffet breakfast was very good.

Possibly the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Modern room and ensuite. Super quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly, thorough and helpful. The pub restaraunt downstairs was reasonably proced and the dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Again the pub staff were very friendly and welcoming. It far exceeded my expectations. I was a bit trepidatious about staying in a "pub" accomodation as a solo female traveller but I honestly felt very safe and secure. Well done guys! I will absolutely stay again if I am.ever passing through Newcastle again.

Reception staff were brilliant, explained and showed us the car parking area, Took us up to our room, explained keys, lifts etc, showed us restaurant and bar areas and where to have breakfast the next morning. Restaurant staff were great, dinner was good and very tasty, when we asked about the early room service for breakfast as my husband had to fast from 7:30am they made sure we had breakfast early. Excellent and friendly service from everyone at the Blackbutt Inn. We'd stay there again.

I recently stayed here for 10 nights while my husband was having surgery nearby in John Hunter Hospital. I could not have been made to feel more welcome and comfortable. Karen the Manager welcomed me and called to check on me & organise room service for my dinner . She & the rest of the staff made me feel at home during a very stressful time. Even though there was music on the weekends the sound proofing was good & did not disturb me. My bed was very comfortable & Housekeeping kept my room spotless & topped up with fresh towels & amenities. I don’t usually eat pub food but the steak was great & very handy to have an onsite restaurant. Great coffee shop nearby as well as pharmacy, doctor , boutique . Everything is close by just a 5 minute drive to Kotara Westfield Shopping Mall and 10 minutes from town . I can’t thank the staff enough and would definitely stay here again, hopefully under better circumstances next time .

Had a very comfortable stay here. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. So convenient with bistro/bar/newsagent/bottle shop just downstairs. Food in bistro and breakfast to room was excellent. Only improvements would be new pillows, power points in my room were oddly positioned and a shame the window doesn't open for fresh air. Overall a great place to stay with everything you need at your fingertips. Will be happy to book here again.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very clean. There was a large selection on the dinner and breakfast menus and what we chose was very good. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel with great facilities. The room had lots of features and the bathroom was great. Very comfortable bed and a very large tv with tea and coffee in room and a very nice choice of biscuits. There was a microwave and lots of cutlery and a very clean kitchenette. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Loved the underground parking. Lots of choice of great bars and restaurants on the street.

Great hotel - staff were very friendly and obliging on arrival. The room has everything you need, bed is really comfortable, spacious ensuite with great shower (both pressure and temperature) and massive tv on the wall. Aircon and opening windows are a plus and was very quiet - even having the restaurant and bar downstairs! Restaurant has delicious food and bar offers multiple options for viewing sports also, and parking is available in a carpark across the road which is very convenient.

From our early checkin, we were met with friendly, helpful staff who love their jobs and the Junction Hotel. We stayed in the Zebra room, which we couldn't fault. The bed was very comfortable, big fluffy towels, clean, spacious and as a lover of animal prints - I was in my happy place. The food is amazing. We had both dinner and breakfast with extensive menu choices and nothing disappointed. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again

Fabulous gem in a neighbourhood area. Rooms were comfortable, modern and sound proofed. The bar and restaurant were terrific with an excellent wine & cocktail list. Best avo+toast I ever had. Wish we had eaten dinner here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Family run too and it showed

Absolutely incredible service, Tony was so welcoming and also the cleaning staff, they let us check out the other empty rooms and gave us extra items and chocolates! 😄 Amazing value for money, especially with such beautiful service. The bar/restaurant underneath serves all day and the food is beyond incredible. The chef definitely knows his stuff 👌🏻 Breakfast was included with our booking and the views and walk around the hotel were so lovely. 20 minute walk to the closest beach~ Thank you to everyone working there, you've really outdone yourselves, especially since you don't take yourselves seriously and have a good time working!! If we're ever in Newcastle again, The Junction Hotel will be the place to stay 😁

Very impressed. Spacious, clean, and comfortable bed. Bathroom clean and modern and user friendly. Breakfast was superb. Far enough away from traffic so not too noisy. Close to Lingard Hospital so very convenient. Good parking close to room. Felt safe while hubby was in hospital. Would definitely stay again. Mrs. E

Free parking was appreciated and we got the bus into the cbd from around the corner. There is a restaurant next door where you have breakfast and dinner but we catered for ourselves. We booked a family room for just 2 of us so it was quite a good size. It had the amenities you need ( kettle, instant coffee. Tea bags, iron and board) Bed was comfortable enough We had a room away from the car park so was nice and quiet. Netflix using our own account was available which we enjoyed and wifi was fine. Before arriving we requested cereal bowls and plates which were delivered to our room before we got there which was a nice touch. Bar b q facilities were good and pool looked nice and inviting.

A very very good motel this one. I was surprised at the room, mostly the rather weird bathroom/toilet. The excellent shower is half the size of the whole bathroom and the toilet has one of those 'green' flushing systems which I had not come across before and wondered how the hell I was going to wash my hands and brush my teeth. All those things are done in the kitchen sink however. Very clean, BIG and good quality towels (for a motel or many hotels). The bed was very comfortable, the owner was lovely, friendly and super helpful. THE BREAKFAST.......the absolute BEST and BIGGEST I have ever experienced during 11 years staying in some of the best hotels around the country ( Stamford Plaza-Sydney and Pullman Reef-Cairns to name a couple). Delivered on time, poached eggs perfect, about 6 slices of bacon, 3 sausages and lovely Turkish bread under the eggs and for my marmalade. If we are back up in that area,or are asked to recommend, we would say stay here and travel to wherever you are working or visiting. Thank you Merewether Motel !. ROY E

Should have placed my review way before now have been staying at Merewether motel every month for1-2 nights for over 10 years . Travel all over NSW with work so I do stay in a few motels this is by far the best , the most comfortable beds amazing pillows and the sheets everything is always so clean . The staff are amazing and Diana is the the most hard working person I have meet always busy but always has the time to say hi and have a chat. I have always been looked after nothing is to much trouble and I always feel safe.haven't yet found another motel as comfortable and clean as Best ever.

Very clean, modern and quiet. A small room, but very cosy with clean crisp linen. Very friendly staff - she was helpful and obliging. We would be happy to stay here again.

Excellent motel and great restaurant. The room was very spacious and details to comfort first class. Exceptionally clean and the outdoor balcony shaded by the beautiful palms was very pleasant . Decor was a delight. Coffee pod machine, drink trolley with a cocktail shaker and microwave were a lovely addition. Bed and pillows so comfortable. The room, although on a main road was quiet. The photos will show how wonderful it is. It’s only a very short drive to Kotara and John Hunter Hospital. The restaurant attached is an absolute delight. Steve and Matt couldn’t have been nicer and the atmosphere and food excellent. The bingo musical game was an added bonus and so much fun. My only regret is that we aren’t locals as we would definitely dine here again.

Spacious rooms, very clean, very quiet, everything you need in them even a coffee machine for the coffee drinkers. Easy as check in. Enjoyed our stay. Convenient to the basketball stadium. Lil foodworks walking distance down street. Had a plumbing issue in shower 1st day they came and fixed immediately would definitely stay again

Rooms are excellent, clean and spacious. Beds are very comfortable. Great to have a kitchenette with microwave fridge toaster kettle etc. Excellent location close to shops beach entertainment centre etc. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I didn’t expect much, but this motel was a really pleasant surprise! When we arrived, the air conditioning and lights were already on, which made it feel super welcoming. The room was clean, had a small kitchenette with a microwave, coffee, and even some cookies, nice little details. The beds were really comfortable, and there was convenient parking as well. The bathroom was small but functional. Overall, a simple but really comfortable stay

I stayed from 2 to 6 September 2025 while attending the Quality Qualcon Conference 2025 at the venue, and it was an outstanding experience. The location is unbeatable, right across from Newcastle Beach, literally just outside the hotel. The ocean view from the balcony was breathtaking, and it was only a short walk to the city. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable with great amenities. I was upgraded to an ocean view room with a balcony, which made the stay extra special. Check in was quick and smooth, and all the staff were friendly and professional. A special mention to Joshua Toendan for being very helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Newcastle for business, conferences, or a relaxing beach getaway.

Our room was upgraded to an ocean view room upon arrival and we were very happy with the amazing views of Newcastle Beach and the foreshore. The location is excellent and we walked to many places of interest (Fort Scratchley, Nobby's Beach, Nobby's Lighthouse, Newcastle Memorial Walk etc). The hotel is conveniently close to many cafes and restaurants and the light rail. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and plenty of storage. The bathroom has been recently renovated, with an excellent shower. The free parking was appreciated - as others have stated in reviews, the undercover parking can be tight (especially with larger vehicles) but there is always the outdoor parking area next door. We had a very enjoyable stay for 2 nights at Noah's on the Beach!

Staff are friendly and welcoming on arrival. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an ocean view room. Room was comfortable and had an excellent view of the ocean - right across the road. The buffet breakfast was lovely with a large variety of hot and cold breakfast items. I recommend booking breakfast on the weekend as it gets very busy. We were so happy to see a mother and baby whale swim by while having breakfast. Free on site parking is fantastic and the location is within walking distance of some great restaurants, cafes and the light rail. Absolutely cannot fault this place and will definitely be back for another stay.

It was our wedding anniversary. We got upgraded to an ocean view room, which had the best view! So relaxing to fall asleep listening to the ocean and wake up to a view of the sunrise. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a nice view of the beach. Great location to sightsee the bath house, beach and Fort Scratchley.

Lovely lady on reception, very kind and helpful, upgraded us to an ocean view room - magnificent outlook over Newcastle Beach, nice to have a balcony to enjoy stunning views and fresh ocean air, very comfortable beds, clean, good facilities, good bathroom with a bath. Great central location and lots of activity to watch with beach across the road.

Outstanding welcome at check in and service during dinner for our party of 15 was really first class. Friendly and helpful in every way. Upon entering the hotel you walk into the bar which is staffed by friendly faces and then proceed further to the open outdoor dining area which feels like you’re outside but it’s actually covered and protected. There is a relaxed and friendly vibe throughout. Breakfast facilities not available but there are plenty of cafes nearby.

Great location, very friendly staff, very spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable access and nearby parking are included. The Internet was of high quality and included. The room had a desk and a large fridge, with all sorts of tea and coffee. There were tissues in the room, and it was very quiet despite being above the pub. Great opportunity to visit a cafe with 10% discount in the city for a nice brunch or a light breakfast

I arrived around dinner time, staff were super friendly and obliging for the check-in. I ate at the hotel and dinner was fantastic. The room felt freshly renovated, very clean and very nicely presented. Bed was super comfy (just the ticket for a weary traveler) and the room was super quiet. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at The Lucky Hotel for two nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms are located above a busy pub with live music and DJs at the weekend, but ours was very well soundproofed so we didn’t hear a thing. The room itself was comfortable, though it did have a slightly foosty smell. We ate in the bar one evening — the food was simple but tasty and good value. The drinks selection was fine, but it would be nice to see a few more bottled beers, especially some continental options like Stella Artois or Heineken. We actually went to a nearby bar for a bit more choice. Overall, a comfortable and convenient place to stay — good atmosphere, friendly vibe and solid value for money. Four stars from us.

Great location and great atmosphere. We loved the terrace view over the balcony. Bathroom was nice and clean. Seems some parts are being renovated at the moment. TV connected to Netflix easily. Beds were clean, comfy and nice. AC was super cold if desired

Staff are helpful and friendly. Short walk to bars and restaurants around honeysuckle. Happy Wombat bar/restaurant downstairs is also very good. Great staff, drinks and meals. Rooms are slightly dated but clean, It is priced well however, beds are comfortable and location is very convenient.

The central location was ideal for our few days in Newcastle over New Year. As we travelled there from Sydney by train, we used public transport (light rail, bus and ferry) over the five days - all very convenient and efficient. It was an easy walk to the supermarket and also to the waterfront with its bars and restaurants. The apartment was quiet, the beds in both bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the water pressure was fantastic. We decided we didn't need any room cleaning during our stay; however, the friendly housekeeping staff were very obliging when we asked for clean towels, extra toiletries and the removal of garbage.

The room was quite nice, and the beds were comfortable. It was clean and tidy. Pretty much exactly what you want from a serviced apartment. Downstairs is a... bar? restaurant? I'm not sure what it is, but it was nice for breakfast and seemed to do lunch and dinner too. Although at night it was very much a bar, for grownups.

Two bedroom apartment. Large living area and kitchen. Beds were huge and comfy. Great restaurant/bar/coffee nextdoor. We had dinner and breakfast there. Parking available on site. Shower pressure and hot water excellent.

The 2 bedroom apartment was roomy, clean and airy. There was no musty smell or evidence of poor cleaning. The furniture and curtains were lovely, clean and well kept. The balcony was great as it allowed fresh air into the room which is a feature I always look for when staying away from home and is the main reason for choosing Quest on this occasion. Also, bedroom windows opened for fresh air as well. The bed was a little firmer than is my preference, but this was no big deal. Plenty of pillows and a clean stored blanket in the cupboard. Usual toiletries provided and housekeeping attended daily.

My first impression was a great one because , as soon as I walked through the door to enter reception I was greeted with friendly staff, in particular James. He was extremely friendly, cheerful ad professional. He went out of his way to help me including with my luggage and offering me a coffee in waiting area. James went above and beyond with his customer service. The rooms were clean and well organized. I'd come back to stay again for sure. Thankyou

The location was excellent, close to where we needed to go. The onsite parking was secure and the apartment was very roomy and comfortable..it had everything we needed for our stay. The rooms were very clean and spacious, it is an ideal spot to stay for a few days. We loved the decor and the history about the building! The staff were friendly and helpful too.

The room was amazing and had a real sense of history! We loved that it used to be the old museum! James (Jimmy) at reception was so welcoming and helpful. We absolutely loved our little mid week staycation! We walked easily to Bernie’s bar from the hotel and found great coffee in the morning

Charming building with lots of character but upgraded with all the modern convenience. Rooms were well appointed with comfy beds and pillows. Lots of space in the two bedroom apartment and all the furnishings were of great quality. Staff upon check-in were very friendly and welcoming.

Love the landscape. The pools make it feel like tropical hotels. The water of the bigger pools were cold but the jacuzzi bubbles pool has warm water, that makes it suitable for young children. Rooms were clean, service was good. It's convenient when restaurants and food court are just downside.

Great breakfast included and bonus for EV owner as there are free destination charging available. Very clean room with a great outdoor pool + spa jacuzzi.

Clean room. Friendly staff. Bed comfortable enough - I prefer my mattress and pillows on the firmer side and NO accommodation I had been to had this, so the bed is either not comfortable or comfortable enough to me. Wish there were free water bottles and toiletries in room. Gym - for a gym where you pay membership for, I was expecting a lot more equipments (e.g. trap bar, hyperextension)😅 and newer machines (the weight plates and big DBs were quite old). But you'd still be able to train a lot more than most hotel gyms - there are 2 squat racks, 1 smith machine, 2 cable machines, legs extension and curls machines. Can't remember whether there was a bench press, but you'd be able to do it at the squat rack if you wish.

The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast at the Terrace was fantastic and the manager Bindi was absolutely amazing, a delight to deal with, extremely warm and genuinely friendly and caring.

This place was perfect for our one night stay heading down to Sydney. Room contained a very comfy bed, cupboard and a sink with coffee making facilities. Shared bathroom with two showered and two toilets, was very clean. Great location with plenty of food options around if you choose not to eat onsite. We had dinner there it was standard pub food and delicious cocktails. Free parking at the rear of the hotel. The staff were friendly, particularly the young lady who checked us in, also served us dinner. Would stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Nags Head. The room was spacious with THE most comfy bed ! And lovely linen. Spotlessly clean and tidy. The bathroom was just outside and was exceptionally clean with a lovely shower. Wonderful ! Everyone was so helpful and friendly and we ate in the restaurant which was fabulous. We would not hesitate to recommend. Excellent value for money. Thank you so much for looking after us.

Location is great, convenient to a lot of different things. The room was clean and comfortable, good size, and the sound from downstairs was barely audible. Downstairs was fun, the locals were welcoming, staff were friendly and helpful with any questions, enjoyed getting involved with the trivia and other things in the evenings. Nice beers on tap and I really enjoyed the meals I had there too. I've never stayed in a pub before but I would stay here again whenever I'm in Newcastle next.

Check in was super easy with an excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient receptionist who couldn't do enough for us. We were escorted to the room rather than just given directions, and had all facilities explained well. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were in very close proximity to the room. The showers were clean and hot with excellent pressure. We loved the quirky little features of this hotel and the attention to detail. We didn't use the bar or bistro, but would definitely like to (in fact, my partner has been to the Nag's previously for dinner and found the food was great). The whole atmosphere was simply amazing. I would definitely stay at the Nag's again (and probably will soon with my son heading to Newcastle Uni next year!!).
