Everything! Watching tv in a jacuzzi bath was brilliant. It was my birthday and the staff arranged flowers, drinks, a picnic basket and rose petals on the bed. They even left a card from them. The hot tub is the icing on the cake!

Highly recommend for a stay or to host your wedding. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. All had smiles which makes a huge difference to the ambience of the place. The grounds are very well maintained which gives a very good first impression. The bathroom was immaculately clean and spacious with the biggest fluffiest towels. All toiletries were supplied.The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious with plenty of choice. My son had his wedding here and it was a fantastic day. It ran so smoothly. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff were just exceptional and are an absolute credit to the place. A few of the wedding party rented the cottages which were all individually decorated to a very high spec and very spacious, some with hot tubs.

My husband and I are both profoundly deaf and the staff at this hotel did everything to make us very welcome and nothing was a bother to them for anything we asked plus ringing for a taxi to Beamish where we attended our friend's wedding.. When we arrived on 6/10/12 we were welcomed by hens running around in the courtyard which was a lovely sight to see and also there was a stable where horses were kept which you could hire to ride. Our room was no 15 a lovely double standard room overlooking the countryside with a bath & shower. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent and the staff very friendly. There is a coffee shop which we didn't use and they even have Archery, Air Rifle Shooting and Clay Pigeon Shooting.. Next morning we had breakfast which was fab and you could choose anything from orange juice.cereals, fruit, to full English breakfast, the only thing the room could have been a bit warmer as it was a cold morning. Overall a fabulous hotel to stay and we would go back any time and a credit to all staff there.

The staff were excellent, obliging, and helpful. I forgot to pay my restaurant bill and was rang and spoken to very professionally. I wasn't made to feel awkward. A gentl at the bar said my larger was flat I couldn't tell but the barman threw it away and brought in other staff to correct it.. As a wedding venue it was amazing . It has 4 seperate differet areas , decorated beautifully and not interfering with each other. Great master of ceromonies. Excellent grounds for photos.The restaurant meal was reasonably priced.. comfortable seating in the lounges. Quick check in , check out procedures using 2 seperate desks. The owners have thought of everything.

Although the hotel is a little older the room was a good size, we found the bed to be very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. We were surprised by the choice of breakfast as we weren't expecting a hot option and it was very good. There was some confusion with a coach party and the timings for Sunday breakfast which meant that a lot of guests wanted it at the same time, BUT the staff handled the situation brilliantly and everyone still got the breakfast that they wanted. All the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel suited our needs and we will return again.

Friendly helpful staff. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast little unorganised had to ask for plates, milk. Went back to room after breakfast to find we could not get in our room as once you eat you are automatically clocked out of your room even though check out time is 11am

Booked via Booking.com months ago, when I bought tickets for me and my teenage daughter, to see Sam Fender in Newcastle. I paid £38.50 on booking and was non-refundable. I'll be honest, I didn't have the highest of hopes given the price I paid, or on first impressions of the area when we arrived. That being said, my daughter and I only needed a bed for the night and a shower, so we weren't particularly concerned that is was basic. How surprised were we? Staff were so friendly and helpful, and our room was ready at 12noon, as we requested an early check in, so that we could freshen up after a 3 hour drive from Cheshire. There was a £5 charge for 24 hour parking which was super easy to pay via the device at reception. The room was excellent, very clean and tidy with a comfy bed and pillows. The bathroom was fully equipped with toiletries etc. When we arrived back at 12.30am, we were chuffed to bits that we could get a freshly cooked pizza from reception. Please ignore the negative reviews, if a cheap and cheerful base is what you require, then this is the place for you. I worked in the hotel industry for many years and I believe you get what you pay for. This hotel exceeded all my expectations, and for that gets a 5 from me!

The room was clean and comfortable, providing a peaceful retreat after a long day. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always willing to assist with any questions or requests. The facilities were top-notch, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a warm attitude, the member of staff on desk on arrival was very friendly with my 4 year old daughter whom is very talkative and loves meeting new people. Our room was to a good standard - clean, spacious and had everything we needed including an en-suite bathroom, a TV, toiletries and a fan which kept us cool during the night. We had breakfast in the morning which was up to a good standard and the member of staff on the desk at breakfast time was incredibly friendly. Overall I’d give the property a 9 out of 10. There was only one issue which was the location, it wasn’t the most ideal for our plans for the next day but the overall experience was excellent and I would return again providing that the location is convenient for our plans.

Me and my two daughters aged 21 and 11 had a last minute booking. Our booking was easy to do online and I used my Blue light card to get a discount, I'm a registered nurse. We stayed for two nights with breakfast. The price was great value. We were greeted by Adam who was so friendly on arrival and made checking in smooth; helping to sort out the parking and even carried our cases to our room without question. Our room was very clean, comfortable and a good size. The only negative is noise; the floors creak and I could hear people upstairs and in the corridor. (I did request a quiet room as Im a very light sleeper). This was such a shame because we loved everything about the hotel, especially the staff! Breakfast was a bonus and the quality was good! I especially liked the cooked offerings although not essential. I must say the staff went above and beyond what we were expecting and we could feel that they genuinely cared about our experience. Both Sarah and Emma were lovely; especially Emma at checkout.  The staff really make this hotel special. If the room noise and creaky flooring could be sorted it would be just perfect. We would stay again and maybe an upstairs room may have been a better option. However, we  congratulate the staff on a super pleasant stay.

It’s a hotel on a retail park so I didn’t expect too much. It was clean and comfortable, very basic. There was a lovely restaurant next door which was fine to take the kids in upstairs. There was a bar downstairs (beneath the restaurant) with a live DJ set (Saturday night) but we heard nothing from our room at front of the hotel, right next to the bar. Breakfast in a bag - as expected, porridge, water, fruit, croissant Family room £65 - happy with that

Initially I was disappointed as the outside of the hotel was tired. There were a lot of weeds & rubbish. However the welcome was great. The room was large & clean. The bed was comfortable & clean. Breakfast for me, was a delicious bacon cob & coffee although lots to choose from. Staff were chatty & friendly & nothing was a problem. Parking was plentiful although you do have to pay. Someone please tidy outside.

The outside of the building is deceptive. What happens within is amazing. This hotel is really well run and the friendly and helpful staff all seem to work together as a team. Full marks to Emma, Taran, Helen and Lyndsey. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they created a welcoming and and happy atmosphere. Comfortable beds and a great breakfast. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Would visit again. Ask for a BEAMISH discount code.

Beautiful location, plenty of walks if you're not into golf. Our room was spacious and luxurious, very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast, the food was delicious with a good variety of options, not to forget the staff, who were very friendly and helpful.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with a fab roll top bath. Breakfast wasn't available in the restaurant due to a golfing event, so breakfast was pre-ordered and brought to our room. This was perfect! Close House delicious breakfast in our room! Definitely great value for money.

I spent one night at Close House, and it was fantastic. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The peaceful natural surroundings made the stay even more relaxing. Dinner was Michelin star quality — absolutely delicious — and breakfast was just as impressive. The fact that the hotel is also home to a top-tier golf academy adds real value, whether you're a golfer or just enjoy the atmosphere. Great service, stunning setting, and excellent food. Highly recommended!

Amazing value for money in a beautiful location and excellent room. Given that dinner and breakfast was included we got a very comfortable suite for less than the price of staying in a boring chain hotel. The food was excellent, staff, particularly in the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. Overall we had a great weekend.

Breakfast delicious and restaurant and staff excellent. Went the extra mile. Room perfect, extremely large laid out in style of suite. Large living area, larger separate bedroom with king size bed and ample wardrobes and storage. Large bathroom with roll top bath and walk in shower. I know it was winter, but £100 exceptional

Absolutely loved our stay here and will 100% come back. We actually preferred the woodfired hottub over a normal hottub as we could control the temperature and it stayed hot all night, whereas at previous lodges the temperatures have been too hot and we couldn’t stay in the hottub for long. The accommodation was lovely and the views were amazing. We were even offered an extra night for a reduced price however we couldn’t due to work commitments so we were gutted :(

We booked this trip to get away for a couple days after a hard few month. From start to finish it was truly amazing. The yurt itself was spotless and cozy, the view was stunning and it was just so relaxing. We ended up purchasing way too much wood haha but we took what was leftover home to have some campfires ☺️ we also ordered the steak which was delicious we would highly recommend. Honestly wished we could have stayed longer, we will definitely be back!

The log cabin was very clean, spacious and cozy. The staff were lovely, very accommodating and attentive. The hot tub was clean, easy to operate and sheltered which was amazing.

Relaxing place to stay, Very Clean, Peaceful, Hot tub was lovely to chill in, Plenty of Logs left to heat up Hot Tub and Water for Hot tub already in for you, beautiful views, we stayed in Elm Pod.... we ordered Egg's And beef sausages to cook for our breakfast, Everything you need in your own Glamping Pod was there at arm's length!

The location and view is amazing, quiet and very interesting. Great cafes and restaurants nearby. The owner was really friendly and helpful, letting us drop bags off early and pick up later on check out. Very comfortable room. Great view. Nice gas fire. Very nice bathroom. Fabulous unique property in a beautiful setting with amazing views of the mouth of the Tyne and the shipping. It’s also next door to the areas little maritime museum ( unfortunately only open at weekends) and a short walk to the amazing Collinwood memorial. The beautiful King Edward’s Bay is a short walk away, plus beautiful sandy beaches and the main social hub and cafes, bars and restaurants. Graeme the host was really friendly and helpful and we felt right at home and enjoyed the self service buffet breakfast with lots of continental options ; cereal, bread, ham and cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt etc

I can't thank graeme enough for our stay the place was absolutely perfect nothing was too much, the location was absolutely beautiful and the room was so clean. The View from our bedroom patio was amazing. The seating out the front was perfect for relaxing in the evening. Plenty of food options for breakfast and the beds were super comfy. Cannot wait to return

Graeme was very welcoming, accommodating (2 large wet dogs!) and helpful. It was good to have the owner around and he laid on an exceptionally good selection of (non-cooked) food for breakfast which was help yourself and very relaxed. Our room was clean and comfortable with TV, wifi and tea/coffee making facilities and a great view over the estuary.

This was a very last minute booking for us after another hotel suddenly cancelled our rooms. I called Lee, one of the owners, and he was so helpful and calm in the face of my incoherent panic. He described the rooms very accurately and I already felt hugely reassured. Both of our rooms were on the top floor and were very quiet and comfortable. The beds were excellent, the bathrooms clean and fresh, and the tea and coffee supplies more than adequate. We parked on the street with no problems. The sea front is just at the end of the road. We ate at La Casseta, an Italian restaurant just a few yards further down the road. It too was excellent, we had a lovely evening there. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel as we needed to get on the road, but we did have a brief chat with Lee before we left - he was just as friendly as he’d been on the phone, a great host. I’d recommend The Metropolitan both for its rooms and for its ambience. Thank you so much Lee for coming to our rescue!

Bedroom was fantastic, lovely and clean, bed was super comfy too I slept like a log! Shower and toilet area also very clean and tidy, shower temp perfect also. We both decided on the metropolitan breakfast muffin which was cooked to perfection, plenty of options as well on the breakfast menu. The host is very welcoming and easy to talk to with loads of local knowledge on where to go for a beer,food and attractions. We would definitely recommend staying here 10/10 from the Hughes's. Very friendly welcome from Paul & Lee. Great location 5 minutes from beach front bars restaurants and shops. Room spotless bed comfy towls soft great shower toiletries provided. Tea coffee and bottled water in room. Breakfast was outstanding. Would definitely return.

Michael was a wonderful host very friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect with a very comfy bed and pillows. As a tall guy I was more than happy to see that the shower was the perfect height for me. The room also had a microwave and sink plus crockery etc a very useful addition. The breakfast was amazing with options galore if desired. The hotel is a short walk away from everything Whitley Bay has to offer. I will be returning to the hotel next time I am in the area.

Friendly, warm welcome from Michael. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room was very comfortable and relaxing, with a lovely view over the park. The complimentary fizz and chocolates was a nice touch too. The hot breakfast was very tasty and the selection of continental items to choose from was excellent. The location of the hotel was ideal. Only a short walk to the playhouse we were visiting, the beach and local restaurant.

The room was not big but the space was well thought out. it was on 2 levels with a kitchenette area which we did not use use but a good idea for some. The shower room was spotless and modern. Both the buffet and cooked breakfast options offered a good choice. TThe owner was welcoming and friendly giving excellent service and advising where to go and suggesting where to eat etc.

Lovely hotel, everywhere was clean and tidy. Clean modern bedroms with everything you needed for a stay. Friendly helpful staff who really wanted to help. Amazing breakfast lots of choice with good quality ingredients, cooked breakfast was fantastic, spot on !!!

This is a wonderful apartment hotel. Really good location, near Manors metro station which is one stop away from the centre of Newcastle. The check-in was super efficient and friendly. A lovely member of staff called Jason was so helpful and welcoming, and made the experience first class throughout. The room is fantastic and well appointed, with a small kitchenette which is perfect for cooking small meals. Very comfy bed, nice shower, and a couch. For the price, this accommodation is very good, and would be perfect for a long stay. Breakfast is complimentary and delicious, and coffee and tea is always available all day. They even do social nights a couple of times a week. This is highly recommended, and a big thank you to Jason and the team at Staybridge Newcastle.

This place is amazing!! A little apartment if you want to cook something with a dishwater and everything you need. Room spotless with quality white cotton bedding and fresh white towels and complimentary toiletries. Launderette and gym is downstairs again spotless!. Breakfast was everything you could ask for and buffet style. Staff cleaning round all the time making sure everything was 100%…Yenny on the reception was amazing nothing too much trouble and was like a someone you’d known for years. I did especially like the first impressions of walking in to the reception and everything smelled lovely and clean. Would definitely recommend these suites and two mins to the Quay, bars and restaurants.

Staff are truly excellent and friendly, even offered some free drinks to my friends (not paying guests) who were waiting for me in the foyer to check in. Rooms are clean and comfortable, particularly liked the small sofa rather than the usual spartan chair, the photos on Booking are accurate to real life. The beds are comfortable, but are definitely on the firmer side. Excellent Wifi throughout the building. Breakfast buffet is well cooked and has quite a few options available. The in-room kitchenette also includes a fridgefreezer and dishwasher and you can easily appreciate how this would make the room feel more 'homely' during longer stays, a much better option than an over-priced minibar.

When you arrive at The Staybridge suites you are given a warm welcome. And this continues through out your stay. Nothing is to much trouble and all the staff at absolutely brilliant . We stayed in the Staybridge while my son was having a bone marrow transplant. I upgraded to a king suite with a separate bedroom from the living room so my son could have a bit of privacy . They have everything you need to make your stay comfortable, kitchenette with all you need to cook. Fridge freezer. There is a convection oven. But I bought a air fryer for our stay . The rooms are cleaned regularly and fresh towels replaced. But if you need anything extra Reception are more then happy to help . The breakfast is to good standard usual cooked breakfast buffet style and cereal continental breakfasts fruit. and on a weekend there is a waffle maker ,which was delicious 😋 The Hotel is in a good location with the quayside 10 minute walk away. And You can walk through to Ouseburn i highly recommend DI MIO ice cream . And you can walk into the town in 20 mins. It is quite hilly but doable. We stayed here for 4 months and its not home but definitely more homely then your standard hotel. And the Social night mon tue wed with free wine and nibbles are a really lovely touch. And even though we needed to stay away from crowded areas ,.They have a separate room called the den which was fantastic for us to meet up with family in safety. Lovely bit of normality. Recommend staying here 100%

Firstly Thank you! We booked this months ago due to attending a gig at the arena. At the time of booking it was cheaper than a premier inn. We arrived and parked (with ample parking) an hour before check in & kept everything crossed to try and get a earlier check in as we have to be at the arena for about 3:30. The lady checking us in could not of been more helpful. She gave us a room upgrade to a 1 bed apartment and even a free drink for my birthday. The whole hotel is spotless we got to our room and it was unbelievable, the whole room was spotless and was so luxurious & spacious. The kitchen was fab with a huge fridge and even a cafetiere. The bathroom shower was amazing, powerful and the bed....oh I am still dreaming of that bed. On top of that breakfast was fantastic with everything you could want (and more). We would 100% return save your money on air bnbs the value for money, space and service you recieve is fantastic. Thank you so much
