We recently stayed at Dreams Aventura Riviera Maya with a small group of about 60 people for four nights, and it was absolutely perfect for us! The resort struck the ideal balance — not too big and not too small — making it easy for everyone to gather, relax, and enjoy time together without feeling crowded. The restaurants were fantastic, from the buffets to the à la carte options and special dinners. Every meal felt fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I also made good use of the fitness center and even joined a lovely yoga class during our stay — such a great way to start the day! One of my favorite features was the protected beach area, walled off from the open ocean to keep seaweed away. The result was a clean, calm, and private beachfront that was perfect for swimming and relaxing. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and offered a spectacular view of the sunrise each morning — a truly peaceful way to wake up. But what really made this trip special was the staff. Every single person we encountered was genuinely friendly, helpful, and seemed to truly enjoy what they do. Their warmth and positive energy made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Dreams Aventura Riviera Maya exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend it for groups, couples, or anyone looking for a beautiful, welcoming place to unwind and reconnect.

The staff at Dreams were incredible! The food was delicious at all the restaurants we tried and the resort itself was perfect. This is a smaller resort which we really enjoyed and it is in a gated community with little shops and restaurants. We were there with 16 people of all ages and they all enjoyed it! The staff were so attentive and helped us with any requests that we had. They went above and beyond to make it extra special for us as we were there celebrating a 60th Birthday. This definitely will be a trip that we won't forget! I would also recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club. There is a separate pool which is not as busy as the main pool and the bar staff are fantastic. You also are able to enjoy breakfast a la cart at the Oceana Restaurant which is outdoors and it is delicious. They also have an exclusive bar and appetizers on the 7th floor which is open early for a light breakfast and snacks at night. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. We did also hire the photographer on site for family photos. We had a fun time taking pictures and they turned out amazing.

Truly blown away! The staff at Dreams Aventuras makes this resort special. From the Preferred Club team: Guillermo, Graciela to name a few, they always went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The Preferred Club lounge was quaint and perfectly tucked away for a quick drink or snack. The food for an all inclusive was 10/10. Oceana and Portofino were excellent, but every restaurant was great and the service top notch. The bartenders were attentive and friendly; Felipe was great at the pool bar. The swim up bar stayed busy but the bartenders were up to the task. The rooms were comfortable, clean and our Family Room was spacious. The pools were great - it was nice to have the fun family pool and then escape later in the afternoon for the more quiet Preferred pool. Unfortunately, the sargassum at the resort was bad during our stay, but this was to no fault of the resort or staff. They worked tirelessly to keep the beach area and water as pristine as possible. The grounds were clean and the staff worked hard all day to keep the pools clean and the grounds tidy. The size of this resort is perfect and it was well thought out. Thank you so much Dreams Aventuras team. While we are believed to be pretty picky travelers, you exceeded our expectations!

Fun trip to Puerto Aventuras and a stay at Dreams Aventuras. Have made several trips to Cancun, Akumal and Tulum and this was our favorite resort by far. What we liked: *Size - resort was not gigantic by any means. One building for all guests and did't have to walk 10 minutes to get to the pool, beach, restaurants, etc. - not that we mind walking by any means. It just gave the resort a more quaint feel. *Restaurants - all restaurants were fantastic. Loved El Patio the most. Bonus is that you don't need reservations like other resorts require. If they're busy, they'll alert you when your table is ready. And even though the resort has dress codes for all of the restaurants, as long as you look decent, you can wear whatever. *Staff - cannot say enough about the staff. All very helpful and personable - without feeling patronizing. We did have to contact front desk and housekeeping a couple of times for minor needs. However, they were on it within minutes. Every person we spoke to was fantastic. Standout people were Paulina in the preferred area and Ronnier at the Bell Caption station. *Preferred Area - we upgraded to the preferred area and used the pool, bar and dining areas provided. All were great and convenient. We also used the entire resort and accommodations. So not going preferred would also have been fine. *Entertainment and Activities - beach entertainment was wonderful and each night had a different theme. Fire Shows, Mariachi Bands, Beach Dining and more were all part

Our family of four had a wonderful 8-day stay this month at Dreams Puerto Aventuras. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, and helpful. Our rooms were spacious and clean, there were several restaurant options (no reservations required), and a beautiful beach area. The pools were also clean and well maintained. Outside the property is a marina with multiple restaurants and shops, all within walking distance, and we felt safe walking through the entire area with our children. The only caveat I would give to prospective guests is this (and this is no fault of the Dreams staff, just something to be aware of): we were offered an option to tour another Hyatt resort in the area - in exchange, we were told we would get breakfast at the other resort, a tour of Tulum afterwards, and two tickets to Xel-Ha to use another day. Dreams staff did tell us "they'll try to sell you something," so we thought we had an idea of what we were walking into. We figured we could handle sitting through a high-pressure sales pitch in order to get a couple of tickets and save $300. This was the first time we'd ever done something like this so maybe this is the norm, but it was wild and so, so uncomfortable. I'm limited in characters here, so I'll summarize by saying it wasn't the 90min tour we were told we were taking - it took us 3 1/2 HOURS to get away from the Hyatt Vacation Club sales staff and get them to agree to let us leave. Not worth the $300 in tickets we were given.

The owner is very helpfull and friendly. The accomodation is clean and in good shape. Our stay was very pleasant!

As always, a lovely stay…. But not without issues. But let’s start with the lovely. Check in was quick and easy. Julio was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We received the Expedia VIP upgrade without question. The room was updated and very comfortable, with a large, modern shower. There is a decided lack of storage, however, with absolutely no drawers and no doors on the closet or bedside table. Our refrigerator did not work, though, and it took four calls and three days to get it replaced. Housekeeping was wonderful! They often came twice a day. The property is very eco-friendly, which we appreciate, but there is only one hook in the bathroom to hang towels that can be reused. We tried using a chair to dry them, but housekeeping always took them anyway. Restaurant service was mostly exceptional! Special shout outs to Ernestina Poot in the Italian restaurant, Estela in Steakville, and Arturo in the buffet! The entertainment was also enjoyable. Arturito has such a great personality and makes things so fun. Oscar/Jared was as professional and helpful as ever — we really appreciate him! — and the dancers in the evening shows were amazing!! But….the restaurant reservation process is a pain in the butt. I was NEVER able to make a reservation, supposedly because my email was not ever registered with my account when we checked in, in spite of several visits to the front desk and the guest services hut. Luckily my friend could book for both rooms. But it’s a bad system.

This was my third time at this resort. It is clean, the food is good and everything is walkable. Every year we go we get a cab to take us to Paradise Beach club near Tulum so we can get a day out on a beautiful beach. The resort does not have a big long beach, but it does have good snorkeling included. The rooms were newly renovated, the shower was great and there was American television. We did the privilege package, it included an extra restaurant to go too, which was nice if we didn’t have a reservation at a specialty restaurant, Access to another bar which was less wait for a drink during the day, I believe the renovated room and a spa circuit.

All the staff and peoples there were so friendly we stayed 7 nights. Lots to do kayak learn to surf and snorkel. Many pools many parties and entertainment! Many bars and fab cocktails. Food all around fresh and delicious! Beaches were clean and water was clear. Only down side was getting up at early to attempt to reserve dinner at one of the fancy restaurants on site 7:55am til 8:05 is your window to try to log on and the process is a pain also. I unfortunately see how that would make many couples have an argument first thing in the morning which is sad. Glad we went with friends they got into dinner some nights and a couple others we did. At the end everything was amazing!

Check in was super easy. Front desk staff is very friendly. Roger the bell boy, made sure we were processed smoothly and quickly and he took our luggage to the room. The Entertainment staff was Amazing! *(Arturito, Jared, Emilio, Fernanda, Delmy), and all the other pool staff was so fun and friendly. We played lots of games with them, and our last night had a beach party that was a lot of fun. Breakfast Buffet was great. The specialty dinners were very good, and the BLoved lunch, and dinner options were fantastic! The privileged Pure Bar was really good, better quality drinks and not a long line ever. Cesar, and Vince did a great job of taking care of us and remembering what we liked to drink. You could walk anywhere in the resort in less than 2-3 minutes. Very easy to navigate. Having the two pool bars was a nice option as well. The crepe center was nice, and the sausage/hot dog cart near the pool was great to have so you could eat by the pool and not have to dry off or put on a shirt to go into eat. We met some great people there from England, Canada, Portugal, Poland, Brasil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and USA. Overall was a really nice trip and look forward to going back there again.

The buffet restaurants , La Brissa and Le Mericado had plenty of varieties for breakfast, lunch and dinner..This will be your savior in case tou dont get reservations in the A la carte restaurants.. 3. Guest concierge team was very helpful 4. The A la carte restaurant , Ayami was good and though it had to booked sharp at 8 am in the morning, still we loved the Hibachi and sushis.. 5. There is a separate space for privilege members and a pool bar which was really nice and comparatively lesser crowd..But you have to book the privilege rooms to get this facility.. This is worth the money.. 6. Snorkeling is a great experience especially on the private area for privilege members.. 45 mins of free snorkeling provided in the all inclusive package..worth it.. 7. Entertainment options are nice especially the Moana show, it was spectacular.. 8. On site doctor available which we used for our kid.. it is expensive though(320$ with medicines) 9. Overall value for money..

The Hard Rock Riviera Maya is the best place my family has ever vacationed at. If we could live there and never leave we totally would. Everything you need or want is at the resort. We have been to many islands and resorts and none have met the quality of this one. The staff is exceptional, and truly makes the experience as exceptional as it is. They they always happy to see you, serve you and help you, and it shows. The food at the buffet was wonderful. Zen restaurant was very good, we didn’t make it to many others as my kids are picky so we stuck to the buffet which never disappointed any of us. The kids club was wonderful, the kids had a blast. The waterpark was my kids favorite activity, it’s a good size, and was great for all ages (my kids are 1, 6, 9 and all enjoyed it). The rooms the AC is ice cold, they beds and pillows are very comfy, the maid service is exceptional. The Grand Rooftop terrace room we had was so great with the rooftop deck with whirlpool, highly recommend. The beach was beautiful and very relaxing and the pools clean. Lots of fun entertainment by the pool all day and amazing shows at night. We got to watch a tribute to Queen concert off our balcony and it was a wonderful experience. Make sure to ask for a beach or pool view room, and as long as they have one they will give it to you. Our view was amazing, and woke up to the sounds of waves crashing every day. If you are looking for an all inclusive family vacation, this is the place you want to be!

We had an incredible 7-night stay at HRRM with our family of six. Our butlers, Moises and Paola, were outstanding — always attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful, making our experience truly special. They even reached out to us a few days before we left. They were the BEST! The food throughout the resort was amazing, offering a great variety that everyone enjoyed. We especially loved Uma, where our server Nic was definitely the best of the week. He was pleasant, funny, and even made us a special dessert to celebrate a birthday! We also enjoyed Toro, Caio, and Faro for lunch and breakfast. The Faro breakfast crew was top-notch. We went to Zen for hibachi, which was fun for the family but its the same, and I’m not a big fan of the hibachi menu. However, we returned to Zen for sushi, and it was delicious. Overall, the grounds are beautifully maintained, with lots of wildlife to discover and watch. We had fun watching the monkeys climb in the trees and around the property in the evening. The pool, poolside entertainment, pool bars, and servers were all friendly and attentive. No vacation or resort is perfect and without hiccups, but overall, this was one of our best vacations at an amazing resort with incredible staff. We look forward to coming back again!

Travelled nearly 5000 miles from Scotland, to enjoy this week of luxury holiday. Being life long fans of Hard Rock, it was time to experience it in Mexico - lived up to it! The hotel is fabulous, from the checkin - you are looked after. The buffet breakfast is just terrific, lots of choice and high quality. The lunch in the American diner is as good a buffet as I have ever had - faultless. The room was fine, super comfortable beds, no concerns atall. Our pre-dinner drinks in the Heaven bar were a ritual for us - IF there had been a nice version of this with sea view, would have been great. The restaurants for dinner, wow. Every meal outstanding. Especially the Asian food and the filet steaks! Oooft. Big shout out to the staff who were wonderful. We were happy to tip as it’s the right thing to do - lots of guests did not - but we felt it was deserved. We go home tomorrow and will be back next September for sure. Why go anywhere else.

Vibe City was amazing for the family! Mishelle was so helpful during our bowling activity and helped us during our Rock Wall Climbing. She always welcomed us with a smile and plan! Alejandro is encouraging as you learn how to maneuver the different rock wall avenues. You have to go see them when you come! We also loved eating at the Market. The food was good and Erika took great care of us. She always had a smile on her face and never let our drinks run out! We also enjoyed our Awaken your Senses meal. The food was unique, the environment was interactive, and the service was phenomenal. Fernando Herrera was so attentive and made sure everyone had a great time. His infectious smile is contagious! Our Legendary rep, Nicolas, was over the top attentive. From the time we arrived until the day we left, he made us feel special and had so many events for us to attend. Sandy took care of us during pool time! We always had fresh towels and yummy drinks! At Hard Rock Riveria Mya..you are treated like family. Amazing shows (the rock show was my favorite), fun swimming pools, wonderful restaurants, and attentive staff, it has been our family’s favorite vacation place for over 7 years.

We had a brief stay at this lovely boutique hotel. In a safe gated community, the guard pointed the way but we used our GPS to find it since we had a late check in and the front desk staff was so helpful and pleasant. The hotel is beautiful, charming, clean, with picturesque views. It is a very romantic setting. The room was clean, modern, and had full amenities. We had a lovely view of the pool, hot tub, and central water way where boats and kayakers were played. The room included a continental breakfast, which was light but gourmet. Fresh coffee, most beautiful presentation of fruit I've ever seen, and home made warm fresh bread with jam. Perfect for me! Easy check-out.

We stayed the Chez Waffle hotel in Puerto Aventuras for 5 nights, and had the most gorgeously relaxing stay. The hotel is right on the marina, 2 minutes walk from a beautiful Caribbean beach, and about a short 5-10 stroll to the restaurants of Puerto Aventuras. There is a natural cenote-like pool outside, in addition to swings and a small swimming pool also - perfect to cool off in the heat! The hotel also doubles up as a restaurant, where we had a delicious waffle breakfast and unlimited coffee every morning. The staff were wonderful and could not do enough for us, the restaurant gets super busy but that never affected the amazing service we received. We would really recommend the hotel for a relaxing stay in the area - it's a great place to just switch off and relax whilst enjoying the beautiful Mexico sunshine! The restaurant was exceptional for breakfast. A couple of items out of sorts on arrival but immediately fixed when we asked. The restaurant is exceptional for breakfast/brunch. is a wide assortment of restaurants close by the Dolphinarium where we could watch the dolphins while we ate. In order to enjoy the beach, you must pay the daily fee for a beach club. The property felt super safe as it is in a large gated community with security 24/7.

This is a very cute, friendly place to stay! We enjoyed the location immensely too, being able to paddle out of their pool, into the channels, and the ocean, was very nice. Puerto Aventuras is a very nice community as well very good restaurants a ten-fifteen minute walk away (closest espresso is about a quick six minute walk). The huge Mexoamerican reef is a short swim from the main public beach, amazing area to explore or land or water. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. Breakfast was good, plentiful coffee, as an improvement, we would have liked just regular bacon, eggs, hash browns, and espresso. Not to say the breakie menu was lacking in plentiful and original options, just not to my personal liking. Only complaints, slack/random hot water. And the beds aren't that great; somewhat small and hardish but not bad for a hotel; the stone headboards were a bit odd and sharpish. Had never seen that before! Comfort could be an issue for you if you're used to bigger beds, huge rooms and endless hot water (eg., all inclusive). BUT don't let that discourage you from "La Mission" --- otherwise, we loved this place, and will be back next year!

We stayed here for 10 days following a tour of Mexico visiting many Maya sites. We were looking forward to some relaxation, as we had also had a busy year at home. We could not have chosen a better hotel. The location is about 15 minutes walk from the centre which has all the restaurants and bars. We were glad about this as the hotel was quiet and peaceful. It overlooks one of the waterways and you can watch the boats come and go whilst sat on your room's balcony, or in the private garden by the pool. All the staff we met were sensational and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and all requests for help were efficiently handled. Alvero, the manager helped with our taxi to the airport, and Nellie on reception was a welcoming face at breakfast and with local knowledge. Our room was kept beautifully clean by Eva, who also did a mountain of washing for us after our tour. This is a friendly relaxed small hotel and all the staff seem to want you to have a good time, such a welcome difference from the large corporates where you hardly get recognised.

Our overall experience at the Catolina was good. It’s in a good area right by Tulum and Playa del Carmen if you feel like taking a day trip the transportation at the hotel is great. We took a boat by the marina for a day and did the “jungle experience” excursion the resort offered and those were both great. The days that we stayed at the resort we pretty much winded up doing the same things. Unfortunately the night club has been closed since January so we would wind up and the beach bar or lobby bar. Leo the guy at the beach bar was awesome and funny! The lobby bar workers not so much.. I would say the age range of guests is wide, we went with a large group of people in their 20s and we had fun but i think it would have been a little better if the nightclub was open. The food was okay. Most food did not have very much flavor so whenever we found something decent at the buffets that’s what we stuck to. We did make reservations at the Italian and Japanese restaurants. The Japanese restaurant was the best food we had while staying there so I’d recommend that! The Italian restaurant food was okay but the view there was amazing! As far as reservations go you can get a reservation for up to 6 people and book online very early in the morning (i got the both reservations at 5am) Last recommendation I have is to upgrade to the Priveleged suite. Most of our friends just got the base rooms and the difference between the two rooms are drastic!

Pleasantly surprised by this resort. My room was clean! The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffets where what would be expected for an all inclusive and far from terrible. Specialty restaurants were good! The beach bar was fun and had the greatest bartenders, the beach itself was small. My biggest complaint was the sports bar did not open until 5 pm daily(even Sunday) and for some reason the lighting inside was overly bright. Also nearby was a marina with many bars and restaurants so we watched football there. Overall I had a great week! I went with 33 of my friends from Canada and I know they had a great time as well!

We spent a week at this resort and had an amazing time! The rooms were fairly outdated but we’re always cleaned well and waters stocked. The resort shares the facilities with the Riviera Maya resort next door so there are lots of pools, bars and beach areas to explore. The food onsite was great, lots of buffet options and the a la cartes were delicious (highly recommend the Mexican restaurant & Japanese) We loved the relaxed atmosphere and great snorkeling right off the beach! The nightly shows and entertainment staff were excellent! Overall a great resort for a good price.

We just got back from our honeymoon at Catalonia. We were nervous about this being a kid friendly resort but had no issues with kids being crazy or loud. We booked the Privileged Romance room and would do it 100 more times. The privileged status was so great giving us better liquor and being able to go to a restaurant (B Loved) without reservation was so nice. There’s also a privileged only pool and beach area which was less crowded. Dinner reservations were very hard to make but luckily Victor at Guest Services was really willing to help us out. He checked in with us multiple times throughout our stay and actually remembered emailing with us about this trip being our honeymoon. Couldn’t ask for better service from him or any of the other hotel staff. Our romance room came with a hot tub, 3 course steak dinner and couples massage at the spa. It was so great!! The resort is in a neighborhood area where a short walk will talk you to some pharmacies, restaurants and a place to swim with dolphins and we felt very safe doing that. Was nervous about the hour long drive from the airport and potential longer drive back with expected traffic. We encountered no traffic on the way back as our flight home was at noon on a Saturday. We left the hotel 4 hours before our flight and would definitely recommend doing that as the Cancun Airport is a mess. We used Cancun Shuttle as our airport transportation and had a great experience with them too.

We overall really enjoyed the Catalonia Yucatan/ Rivera Maya Resort. This was our (20s couple) 3rd time in Cancun, and this was by far our favorite resort yet. The food was satisfyingly good for most meals. Everything seemed freshly prepared and the ingredients were of high quality. Other reviews mentioned outdated amenities/ rooms, but that was never an opinion we shared. The activities were plentiful and fun. The shows seemed cheesy at previous resorts, but here it was obvious that effort was spent to make them enjoyable for both kids and adults. All staff were friendly, a little tipping went a long way but at no point did it feel necessary. Also, the ocean and beach felt so “alive”, and snorkling was available at no cost which was so fun to see corals, fish, and other creatures. As for the parts we didnt love, the breakfast was lacking in options and was a bit disappointing, but the snack bar was open at 10:30 so we didnt have to go long hungry. Overall, very nice resort. Would recommend

The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable to use as a base for excursions in the Riviera Maya area. My preference would not be to stay in Puerto Aventuras because it is an enclosed gated community, but I needed to be nearby another hotel where a work conference was held. Villas Picalu is well located inside PA, as it is an easy walk to the main gate, outside which you can catch colectivos easily. And the location was still much preferable to an isolated all-inclusive resort, as PA has many nice cafes and restaurants surrounding a marina. As for Villas Picalu, the owners were incredibly acoomodating and helpful, and communication was very easy. They helped answer all my questions, and also helped arranged trips. Thank you for an incredibly positive experience! :)

Quiet, safe, beautiful area. Short walk thru the golf course brings you to a hidden gem of a marina, cafes, shops and dolphins!! Oh and the beach!! Lovely accomodations. No front desk, but absolutely amazing communication with Sonia via WhatsApp. I travel often and Villas Picula and Puerto Aventuras have stolen my heart. Already planning a return trip!

The hosts, Sonia and Alberto are very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for the money. If you have to be in Puerto Aventuras is a great spot. Close enough that you can walk to the beach and restaurants.

We love this place! It was very clean and Sonja was very welcoming. We walked to the beach everyday and the community was full of friendly people.

Very convenient studio, has everything inside- mini bar, microwave, electric stove, very comfy, clean, easy to access, great!

Lovely small hotel in a very peaceful neighbourhood. Room was large and airy (including balcony), shower powerful, air conditioning efficient and bed very comfortable - perfect!. Staff were friendly and efficient and Saul, especially, was very helpful, both by email before arrival and during check-in. Everything for basic self catering was provided but you would need transport or a taxi if carrying the weekly shop - we just liked having the kitchen for tea, coffee and snacks though. Highly recommend.

This property is located in the beautiful community of Puerto Aventuras. This is a gated mostly expat community which is very safe. We took an airport transfer from Cancun to this property. Check in was simple although the person working did not speak any English and gave me a cell phone where I spoke to the manager (Saul) who gave us assurances that we were good to go. We stayed for two days before transferring to an All Inclusive. The room was spacious and clean, the pool is amazing and clean and the only complaint we had is that the TV did not have any channels for the duration. We didn't care as we weren't there to watch TV and we also didn't mention it to anyone. At the end of our stay we needed to go 5 min down the road to the AI and after a few failed attempts to call a taxi which never showed up, Saul drove us there, which was very nice of him. We would stay here again for sure. The only suggestion I have is some sort of pamphlet that has suggestions for folks that are visiting. Luckily we have been to this area before and knew where to go for everything. But if you don't know the area, it's a bit of a walk to get to the restaurant area etc. They could also benefit from renting out half carts for reasonable rate and by the hour. A golf cart rental in town for 24 hrs is around 45usd which is pretty high in my opinion, especially since I would not want it for 24 hrs and may just need it to grab some groceries. Overall a great place and would return again.

We arrived late to Puerto Aventura at the Coral Maya. We really couldn't appreciate the all around beauty until we opened the door to our condo. Wow! It was beautiful! The owners Genaro and his wife Laura were so welcoming and helpful. Laura drove us to a nearby marina that has several restaurants circling it. What a nice surprise. The Coral Maya is in a gated community so we felt very safe and walked back to our condo refreshed and happy.The Coral Maya was not only beautiful but clean and very, very comfortable. It was well furnished, and even had a patio set which faced the pool. There were kayaks for our use and a recreation room. We would most definitely recommend the Coral Maya to our friends and would love to return.

An excellent stay in a very comfortable apartment with a terrace leading directly onto the pool. The units are a reasonable walk from the restaurants, bars and shops of Puerto Aventuras, but it is a very quiet spot as a result. The staff were excellent, giving great recommendations on what to do in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Very large rooms and balconies, beautiful views in all directions...pool, bay/beach, gardens, partial ocean view. Safe location and very friendly staff. So quite you can hear the ocean :-)
