Great location, just a 5–10 minute walk to bars and restaurants. We stayed in a corner room with stunning views of the city and bay. which got even better at night! The room itself was exceptional—spacious, stylish, and well-equipped. The bathroom was beautifully with high-end finishes, while the main area included a cozy sofa sitting space. The bed was large and comfortable, with a variety of pillows to choose from. Amenities were excellent: coffee and tea-making facilities, a wine fridge, and a TV with a Bluetooth-enabled sound system for music. The room also had a desk and plenty of conveniently placed power sockets. The overall design felt premium, with solid wood flooring, sleek cabinetry, and a mix of concrete, glass, and marble in the bathroom. We also had a superb breakfast served to in the room. The service was excellent. We didn’t spend much time in the shared area, but it featured a beautifully designed space with stunning views, comfortable seating, and an honesty bar stocked with a great selection of drinks and snacks. No pool or gym available but this was not important to us on this trip. A fantastic stay - 9/10!

Tower Suites is a beautiful hotel that has fantastic amenities and service, all with the feeling of being in a condo/apartment in Reykjavik. The hotel is on the top floor of an office building, key card access via the elevator. The room was spacious and beautiful with floor to ceiling windows and a spectacular view (exactly as the pictures indicate). The breakfast (included) was delicious and had many options (granola, fruit, boiled eggs, smoked salmon, cheese, fresh baked goods, cereal, fresh juice and more). While located a bit outside of downtown, we had no problem with the 5 minute walk to the Main Street and also about a 10 minute walk to Harpa. The location actually made us feel like we were residents of the city. The hotel was able to easily call taxis for us (in advance) for when we traveled outside of the city for a couple of tours. Also, the restaurant in the building (burgers/fries) was surprisingly good. We have stayed in downtown Reykjavik, but we would not hesitate to stay at Tower Suites again for the views, the friendly service and the breakfast.

I could not fault the tower suites at all. They were so easy to communicate with and were really quick at replying to me at any point in the day. It wasn’t the easiest place to locate however, the staff went above and beyond to help me locate it and help me to the right place. As well as this I asked for some extras in the room and they did this without and issues and made the stay even more special. The room itself is stunning with a modern design and beautiful views. The bed was soooo comfy and had an amazing view. The breakfast is delivered to you room and you get a great amount of food at a time you ask for so that you can enjoy the views and privacy of your room and I felt this made the stay even more special and romantic. This was the best stay that I have had out of any hotel or apartment and I would say it is the best place to stay in Iceland. I could not recommend this location more especially if you want to make your stay special or romantic.

Hotel was fantastic and the team who looked after us were amazing! View was stunning and enabled you to see much of the city which was lovely during the light festival. Really close to town and easy to get around from there as also on the main pick up/drop off route for tour companies. Room was spacious and loved the shower after a day out exploring. Breakfast was amazing and always delivered exactly on time and a great mix of yoghurt, fresh fruit and every day different meats and cheeses! The bed was super comfy and felt like we were sleeping in the clouds (with the suites being on the 20th floor). Was the most silent and relaxing holiday we have had and loved getting to sit in bed and watch the snow fall on the city. Was bliss

The service was great; the hotel representative actually calls you before arriving to go over reservation details. We had a Mountain View room which oversaw the city and a slight left glimpse of the bay, stunning. The soak tub has an equator view and is quite relaxing. There is a self serve-pay-bar area to make most any desires cocktail or beverage. Very close to multiple restaurants and a quick drive to old downtown. Bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious, we had a king suite. Breakfast is exquisite and the staff was superb.

Great staff, the jacuzzi is very small, in an odd spot, place feels a little antiquated, but overall it was great.

The staff of this hotel were very friendly and very helpful. We took a night flight to Iceland and we arrived in the morning without much sleep. We were tired so we just went straight to the hotel after we got our rental car. The hotel was fully booked so we had breakfast at the hotel and they got us a room as soon as one was available. That helped us out a lot. We were able to catch some sleep before we head out sightseeing. The hotel was cozy and pretty. It was comfortable and homely. The room was clean and quiet. We had a lake side room and we could just step out the slide door and went outside to the lake. It would be good place to watch the northern light if there is any. The breakfast at the hotel was good. They actually had hot dishes like scrambled eggs, bacons, and sausages in tomato sauce. The WIFI was good. The shower water pressure was good. There were tea and coffee. 5 minute drive to the supermarket and restaurants. 15 minutes to the old Harbor in the city. We had a very nice time. We were glad we made this hotel our first stop of our trip. It was a wonderful start of our vacation.

This hotel is a rare gem. It is quiet and tranquil, ideally located just outside Reykjavik. Every room has a lovely view across the lake with walking paths if you want to take a stroll. Even the common areas provide great views and comfortable couches to relax on with family and friends. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent guidance so for where to go to view the nearby eruption (8/22/24) as well as the local cultural festival (8/24/24) in the city. I strongly recommend including the breakfast with your stay. They provide a great variety of options including both hot and cold options as well as fresh baked bread and pastries... and the food is excellent. We also had dinner there twice and those meals were also amazing.

Great customer service. We enjoyed a comfortable and quiet stay. We had a delicious dinner at the on site restaurant. The continental breakfast (not included) was delicious and full of options. Family friendly. Many comfortable locations to enjoy the surrounding views. FYI …The desk clerk mentioned to let him know if we were going to use the hot tub as this would take approx. 1 hour to heat up. We didn’t end up using the hot tub.

Comfortable, beautiful , cosy hotel. Very clean. The room was very big also the bathroom.The staff was very friendly and helpful .Breakfast was nice and the restaurant at dinner time is great. The surroundings are beautiful, you can hike along the lake or try hotel kayaks. Most of gests I think travel by car , but you can easily use the bus to get to Reykjavik center. It is 15 min walk to the bus station and 35-45 ride. As of july 2023 the frequency was about 3 times in an hour from early morning till late evening ( less on weekends). We used the buses during all our stay, no problem. Very recommended for quite comfortable stay.

It was spacious, super cozy, we had a hot bath outside in the jacuzzi (very hot water and incredibly nice!), clear instructions and very friendly communication, free food was placed in the hallway, very central

Very cozy room, spacious. Bed incredibly comfortable, after an exhausting trip it was like salvation for the body! The room clean and smelling fresh, due to the bedding, pillows very comfortable. We arrived late, used self check-in to check in, which was very intuitive. Although in the dark it was hard to find the panel to enter the code, but just turn on the flashlight on your phone. Despite the late arrival, the shared bathroom was very clean. I contacted the staff through booking and the conversation was very nice and helpful. It was a great stay for us, thank you!

Amazing location! Like perfect. Comfy room, spacious. Nice beds and duvets. Also liked that the room had a sink and a minibar. Clean. There was also a hot tub, we didn’t use it but it was a nice touch :)

We loved staying at this guesthouse. It was perfect location to the main downtown area, bus stops and cafes. The place was exactly what we needed and comfortable. There was coffee and tea for you to have when leaving in the morning and a clean kitchen area. The home was also so warm which was great to come back to after a long day trip! I would definitely stay again here!

We used this as our home away from home, venturing out on day trips. It was a very peaceful and cozy stay, with unbeatable views of the ocean and sky’s just outside the room. The rooftop jacuzzi tubs and sauna were a nice touch too!

The cabins are isolated and you need a car to get anywhere. The property has a restaurant on site but it only opens Fridays to Sundays. We booked the superior room for 3 people. The cabin was clean and had a mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, linens, cups. This property has no desk on site. They are on call from The Viking Hotel. The views are amazing! The location is perfect to watch the Northern Lights because it’s far from city lights. It’s very quiet and peaceful. There are horses and other animals roaming around. Full Iceland experience! Would definitely return!

Before my trip to Iceland, I researched accommodations in Reykjavík and found many downtown hotels to be overpriced, with some lacking parking options. Since I planned to rent a car and explore the country over my three-day stay, I wanted something more convenient. By chance, I came across Fisherman’s Village, and from the photos, I knew it was exactly where I wanted to stay. The view from my room was stunningly beautiful and peaceful, offering a perfect place to unwind. The property is great for walking around, allowing you to fully appreciate the scenery and weather. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making my stay even more enjoyable. I loved my two nights at Fisherman’s Village and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland. I will definitely stay there again if I return.

This is my second visit to the property. Beautifully located with amazing views. Quiet but only 10-15 min drive to the city. Rooms are spacious . Rooms are accessible with small ramp with parking spots close to the room, good for those with mobility issues . Suana and hot tubs available for end of the day winding down . No restaurant on site but restaurants and grocery stores within a few minute drive. Plenty of parking . Bed is comfy , fridge with tea kettle in room. Bathrobes available for use as well. Great spot if you have a car and want to explore beyond Reykjavik

Spent four great days calling our room "home". We asked for an early check in as our flight arrived at 4 in the morning - the room was open, clean, warm, light on and ready for us. The room with a private hot tub and sauna was absolutely the right choice for us; after a day of walking, hiking and seeing parts of western Iceland, a sauna and a soak were perfect. Being out on a point was quiet, the feeling of an old world fishing village is still present. It was very quiet - even with the teams that came to stay. Glad we had a car for this vacation - it allowed us to stay here ourside the city center. Yes, I recommend this cozy, rustic and quiet retreat.

Midgardur is a great hotel and we highly recommend it! We would definitely return. It is very close to being an Excellent hotel, especially the 4 rooms located on the the 5th floor. It's clean, the employees are helpful and kind, it's well kept and it's in an area with some interesting restaurants. The Jorgensen hotel restaurant as excellent meals. It has a large and pretty good buffet breakfast - but it also has tour groups who literally push you out of the way to get at the buffet food. Since the restaurant, and buffet area, is small, it would be much better if tour groups had their own breakfast buffet and eating area! Also, the restaurant closes at 10am and reopens at 11:30 - and if you arrive at 10:01 am on a Sunday morning - you are out of luck as far as getting a real breakfast meal unless you wait an hour and a half (which we did). The locations if OK, but not great. It's a long walk to the most 'touristy' part of town, although there are busses nearby. That said, the positives far outweigh the negatives!

This hotel has it all! The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to answer any questions about what to do and where to go. Need a taxi? They’ll have one ready for you in about a minute—so convenient! The restaurant was fantastic, offering delicious food. We had breakfast there daily, and it was the perfect way to start each day. Their coffee was excellent too—I loved it! This is also an ideal spot if you’re doing tours. Bus Stop 13 is right in front of the hotel, making it super convenient for tour bus pickups. On cold days, you can comfortably wait in the cozy lobby until your ride arrives—a small detail that makes a big difference. Our room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Very friendly staff! They were always in for a little chat an never far away to help you in any way. From the reception to the bartenders to the cleaning ladies, they were always smiling! We have stayed in two different rooms en both were nice, comfortable and clean. The spay was also clean, enjoable en very relaxing! With even a telephone connected to the bar so they could serve you cocktails downstairs! We had the so much fun!! The restaurant was chique and the bar even better 😊 when we left the hotel at 4am, they even provedid us with some croissants and drinks to go. The bus stop is right around the corner but if you want to get to the city by foot it isn't a very long walk! Perfect location I find!

We had a mini-break at Central Hotel Midgardur for our wedding anniversary. Check-in was friendly and efficient, we arrived early from the airport and were able to securely drop off our bags. The location is good, right next to Bus stop 13 and the Main Street, Laugavegur, just around the corner. Our room was spacious, bright and clean with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast had an extensive choice of tasty, good food, including vegan options. The bar area was pleasant, spacious and bright. All the staff we met from reception, room servicing and catering were friendly and helpful. With regard to improvement opportunity, a net curtain for the bedroom window to allow privacy while allowing in light would be good. The noise from people using the outdoor spa pool carried in to our room and this continued in to the later evening. With the window closed noisy air conditioning came on. The double bed made from two single beds was large, but required two duvets and had its own tectonic plate boundary. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Conveniently located, with everything well organised and pleasant.

This property is on the edge of the downtown area, and weather permitting, you could walk downtown to the core entertainment. Breakfast each morning in the on site restaurant,Jörgensen and their wonderful staff. The food was amazing although the selection was limited and repetitive, however there was always fresh fruit and pastries, variety of breads and cereal options. Scrambled eggs, bacon,sausage hash browned potatoes and roasted tomatoes. All served buffet style. The most amazing item on the breakfast bar was the Cod liver oil, which we saw many people taking. The front seat staff was also amazing and very helpful with any issues you may have and always seemed happy to assist. Special shout out to Veronica, who seeemed to always be there smiling and eager to help Many dining options within a short walk for traditional Icelandic food

The location is superb for travellers wishing to explore the abundant shops, restaurants and cafes that are in the downtown areas. The hotel is just around the corner from one of the main streets. The area is traffic controlled, so if you are taking the Flybus from the airport you get dropped off at bus stop 6, which is less than a 5 minute walk, perfect. Although the hotel is in the city centre we did not find noise a problem. The room we stayed in was a standard double. This was well appointed, extremely clean and had a great bathroom/shower. The bed was comfy and the blackout curtains made for a great sleep. We stayed for 4 nights in Feb 25 and the room was perfect for our needs. The room rate include breakfast, this provided excellent quality and variety. The breakfast items were regularly reviewed and re-supplied. A special mention to the breakfast staff who were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a pool and spa that you can use for a small additional fee, we did not use this as we were out and about on tours so much but, it's a nice facility to have. The reception staff were super helpful and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and were able to assist us when we needed help. I loved Iceland and this hotel was an ideal base for our short trip, being so central and near to bus stop 6. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Our stay here was amazing! I was really impressed - the service was great, we were able to request a twin room instead of double, and they stored our luggage while we killed time before check-in. The room itself was spacious enough for two. It was really just a place to sleep after long days traveling around the island, and we did not find noise to be an issue. The ear plugs were helpful anyway. Shower was great - solid water pressure. Nice to have tap water for filling my water bottle. Plenty of space to spread out our belongings. We made tea many times and used the mini fridge to store some of our groceries like skyr and sandwich ingredients and milk for tea. The highlight was the breakfast - there was such a variety that really exceeded my expectations. I was expecting an airport lounge-type breakfast buffet, but here there were baked beans, hash browns, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, chia pudding, muesli, oatmeal, fresh fruit - even cod oil for your morning beverage. The highlight for us were the flapjacks as part of the array of fresh pastries - we ate so many each morning, they were SO delicious! Overall, 10/10. Really wonderful experience for the price. I don't have a single complaint.

Great location, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, functional gym. They made us wait until exactly 2pm to check in, but in fairness, they were completely full and have us spa access since our second room wasn't ready. Breakfast each day was fresh and delicious. Bora was so friendly, she even came outside to show me how to work the parking meters. That's going above and beyond in my opinion. You can walk to everything in downtown Reykjavik. Lots of restaurant choices. The gym was functional so better than nothing and you can get a solid workout in with dumbbells. One of our rooms was very spacious and new, the other was on the smaller side and a little dated but both were very clean. Great hotel.

We had an amazing stay at Þingholt by Center Hotels! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome—super friendly, helpful, and inviting. The room was a mix of modern and cozy, with thoughtful touches. The bed was comfortable, warm, and everything was spotless. Breakfast was a real highlight—honestly, better than some of the restaurants in the area. Great selection, fresh ingredients, and a relaxed setting to start the day. Overall, this hotel really delivers on comfort and hospitality. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Reykjavik!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Grandi! The hotel itself is really nice, with a modern and cozy atmosphere. The staff were fantastic—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. A special thanks to Dinko, who went above and beyond to make our stay even more enjoyable! The spa was excellent—peaceful, clean, and the perfect place to unwind after a cold day exploring Reykjavík. Definitely a highlight of the hotel! Breakfast offered a good variety each day, including eggs, fruits, ham and cheese, cereals, croissants, and more. While the selection remained the same throughout our stay, it was always fresh and delicious.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Grandi hotel. What a fabulous hotel and a lovely team that work there. Used the spa which was great, the staff at reception were always welcoming and friendly (didn't notice any names but honestly they were such a friendly team) and the breakfast was great (with a big shout out to Alan and Tracy who work in the restaurant at breakfast time and were so friendly and full of stories and charm!) The room was very comfortable and although top floor over the newly started site next door the noise didn't bother us at all on floor 5 with the balcony door closed due to the cold. Most of the time we were up and about fairly early most days with tours etc and of course the weekend the site was closed with no noise. The hotel is about a 15 minute stroll from the centre of town which for us wasn't an issue and was quite a nice walk. If it was snowing or raining heavily it may not be so great but the weather was kind whilst we were there. The closest tourist bus stop to the hotel is bus stop 15. Just a short stroll from the hotel. The bakery on site was also great. Book direct with the hotel and you should get some additional discounts and benefits (we got a free drink, some cakes on arrival and free access to the spa and breakfast) A great stay and definitely a great choice of hotel for our stay in Reykjavik.

After several trips to Reykjavik, we've found a beautiful home at this great hotel! From the time we arrived and for the several days we were there, it was great to be in such a great location by the harbor with everything within an easy picturesque walk. Our room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, the breakfast delicious, the bar friendly, and the coffeeshop fun, too. Didn't get to use the spa, but it is lovely. There are many comfortable spaces to meet with friends or just hang out. Thanks to the friendly staff!

We stayed here two nights while in Reykjavik. Check in was very easy. Staff at the front desk are super helpful. There is a pharmacy located next door to the hotel. And attached to the hotel is an area/restaurant where they do breakfast. There is also a cafe which is excellent! You need your key card in the elevator to get to your floor. We stayed on the 4th floor. No issues. The room came with a fan because it was a tad warm and we were so happy to have it. Room was clean and modern. A tad small, but comfortable. The bathroom was clean. Shower worked well. Coming off the elevator there is a shoe/boot cleaner which was great so we didn’t track mud or dirt into our room! Within walking distance to the center of town… took maybe 20 minutes to get to rainbow road. I’d recommend if you want somewhere a little quieter but still close enough to the shops and restaurants. Whale watching parking lot nearby offers free parking and some side streets nearby do as well!

Just returned from 4 nights at the Grandi and had an amazing time Our room was lovely and clean with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, hot and fresh every day with plenty of choice. The spa was a lovely place to relax each evening and we made full use of it. The facilities there were great However what sets the hotel apart is the staff, every person we spoke to was friendly professional and helpful. The front desk team were really great and a special thank you to them for looking after us and also recognising my wife’s birthday. We had a fab time and would definitely stay again

I recently stayed at Midtown Hotel in Iceland on a couple’s trip, and we had a fantastic experience. The hotel is incredibly well-located, right in the city center, within walking distance of many major attractions. Whether you want to explore iconic landmarks, visit museums, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere of Reykjavik, everything is just a short stroll away. Additionally, the main bus station is about a 20-minute walk, making it convenient for airport transfers and excursions. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby, so finding a good meal was never an issue. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable—perfect for a relaxing stay after long days of exploring. The amenities were great, and everything was well-maintained. Despite being in a central location, the hotel was quiet, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Overall, I highly recommend Midtown Hotel for travelers looking for a convenient, comfortable, and well-located place to stay in Reykjavik. It was an excellent choice for our trip, and I would definitely stay here again!

The central location was very close to where we needed to be. I liked the fact that it was staff less to a degree, we were emailed codes for front door/luggage room/apartments. The room was spacious with a lounge area too. Very nicely decorated and welcoming. They had a storage area, again with a code so great to drop your bags off and do some sight seeing. We were on the top floor and had a shared wrap around balcony which was great for seeing the views & northern lights. The bathroom had toiletries and handsoap already in, which was unexpected but a lovely extra touch. A small amount of tea/coffee/sugar and creamer was available which was also another nice touch.

It was very good value for the money. very comfortablle bed, clean modern bathroom, with a great shower. Big balcony with a perfect location to see the main building of the town, the famous church.

Fantastic location close to restaurants, bars, and shops. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the kitchenette in one was a nice bonus. Check-in and access was simple.

Room was really clean and modern. Sheets clean and bed comfortable. Room code and lock was really easy and comfortable to use.

The room spa and restaurant were all lovely. The room had everything you could need. Clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming amd tried to resolve any problems. Spa was spotless, relaxing and comfortable. Spa attendant were the best and helped create a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant food was delicious. The distance from the city centre made it perfect and peaceful for my last night.

Very friendly staff who make the hotel a welcoming place to be and even checked us in three hours early at no extra cost. Gorgeous, large bedroom with really comfy bed and fab view over the ocean. Fantastic shower with gallons of hot water. Plenty hangers. Breakfast was buffet style and had the usual hot options along with continental and plenty of fresh fruit and excellent coffee. We were shattered after a full day trip so ate in the hotel one night. Had the local lamb and it was delicious. The foyer was decorated for Christmas and looked so cosy so we sat there one evening for drinks (reasonably priced at £14 for a large white wine and a zero beer.

Clean and quiet. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast buffet service. Good restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was that it was not located in a walkable area but we had hired a car so this was not much of an issue.

We’ve stayed at this hotel twice and each time we’ve really enjoyed it. The rooms are clean with tea and coffee making facilities and they’re lovely and warm! The breakfast is great. A really good selection, from hot bacon & eggs etc to cheese and meats and pastries. One of the exceptional things about this hotel is the staff. They’re so friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had a trip cancelled due to bad weather and reception staff came up with some great ideas as alternatives and showing us on a map. The dinner is an extra charge but a must because it was sooo good. I’d also highly recommend a massage in the spa. Best I’ve had. The spa pool is free of charge so take swimwear and a good book. Lovely experience after a cold day to sit in the warm and relax with a glass of wine. The hotel is probably half an hour walk from the city centre, and I imagine that reflected in the price BUT don’t be put off! We continually hired the Hopp electric scooters and we were back to the hotel in no time. Very cheap too. There is also buses that are very regular and reliable. Again, reasonably priced. I would advise against getting taxis. They’re extortionate. If you choose this hotel and are happy with the location, you definitely won’t be disappointed. We will be visiting again.

Bart at reception was so friendly and accommodating, helping us organise spa access and a late checkout. The lobby and the room were clearly recently renovated and had a great modern vibe. The room had a kettle and free coffee and tea which is always appreciated. I also heartily enjoyed the hot tub, heated pool and cold plunge in the spa, which was very modern and dimly lit in the most relaxing way. Despite missing breakfast, the hotel went out of its way to accommodate us with lunch at the spa and I had a delicious burger before checking out. Parking was free and plentiful.

Clean, spacious, and cozy. Two bedrooms for 4 people plus a pull-out sofa bed (quite stable). Bathroom spotless with L’Occitane toiletries. Small but complete kitchen with coffee maker. Great heating, quiet area near the church hill, supermarket just across the street. Perfect for stargazing or northern lights.

Great spacious apartment in central location. Comfortable beds and clean fresh bedding. Towels a little worn. Kitchen had plenty of equipment and enough crockery, glassware etc. Apartment could benefit a deep clean high areas and men’s pants found in washing machine. Due to central location we did have some noise in street until late, but this could be expected.

The apartment was spacious, clean and cosy. We LOVE the interior and design in the apartment! It had most of the stuff we need on our 5 nights stay - although it would be appreciated to be provided more toiletries though rather than small sample size bottles as 5 nights with 4 girls that did not last us long. We were provided adequate clean towels, bed sheets were nice and clean too. Also, the lights were a bit too dark or maybe that was the theme/vibe of the apartment? Location wise - REALLY GOOD, it is a walking distance to everything - 1 min walk to grocery shop, pharmacy, a lot of affordable food shops around the area, walking distance to most bus stops (for our day trips). Check in was a little bit confusing because signs to the apartment were quite confusing. We also struggled going up to the apartment with our luggages since it was on the 4th floor with no lifts. Overall though we really enjoyed our stay in the apartment.

Big spacious apartment, was very clean and in a perfect location. Beds were very very comfy. There was four of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. When we arrived there was plenty of toilet rolls and towels and kitchen roll for our four night stay so we didn’t have to go out and buy anything. The communication and instructions were great and easy to follow. Genuinely loved it and would recommend to anyone/ stay again if coming back to Reykjavík. (Seen from other reviews about the smell of eggs in the bathroom - it’s the Sulphur in the water which is natural in Iceland so when running the shower it does smell but it’s nothing to do with the apartment).

This flat ended up being our perfect last minute home away from home! Our travel plans changed due to weather conditions and the property management team was so kind in helping us stay for an extra night! The space was cozy, comfy and right in the heart of the Reykjavík shopping, food and drink scene. We’ve already thought about planning a future trip back. We had a balcony overlooking the main streets and a kitchen to prepare breakfast for family staying at a hotel down the street. Great stay altogether and wonderful communication with the management!

The apartment was a perfect home away from home. Plenty of storage, all necessary appliances, very comfortable warm beds, kitchen with all the necessities, incredible views, great layout, large entry for shedding off outdoor layers without being cramped, outdoor space was excellent, balanced amount of modern furniture and decor to be cozy but not overstuffed or sparse looking or feel outdated. Window treatments were excellent for blocking out light at night or adding privacy. Property has an elevator for easily moving luggage up to the apartment level. The location was the best: right next to the grocery store, short walks to shopping, excellent restaurants, museums, and bus stop 6 for easy pickup to all our tour group activities. Host responded quickly to all questions in a friendly way and communicated to us information that was helpful when needed.

The view from the apartment is wonderful, up high with a view over the downtown. It was great having use of a shared hot-tub / hotpot with a wonderful view of Halgrimskirkja. The instructions for use were easy to understand. The apartment was spacious and modern, luxurious.

Beautiful modern and clean apartment with everything we needed. The bed (and sofa bed) were very comfortable with plenty of linen provided. plenty of cutlery and crockery and it looked as if everything was provided for those who may want to cook on their visit. we just snacked. the balcony on our penthouse apartment has a lovely view, and we enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. location couldn’t have been better with a couple of minutes walk to downtown Reykjavik and all she has to offer. Decent Kronan supermarket is on the same building as the apartment - very handy. nice and cozy

Property was incredible. Lovely interior, clean, heated floors, modern, well equpped kitchen etc. location was perfect! So close to Everything! And no noise, was very quiet property no bars under it. There was a supermarket right beside us. The apartments were located in a secure block with codes throughout the doors to enter. Hosts were great communicating all the time and answering any queries we had.

Location was perfect, only a 5 min walk to bus stop 6 which was a popular place to for tour buses to pick up and drop off. Lots of points of interest close by. Apartment was perfect size, we stayed in the superior studio. Very clean and the kitchenette nice to have although we didn't use it, only the kettle. Nice to have coffee too

It was an excellent central location for a good price. There was plenty of room and it was comfortable inside with settees and a dining table. It was decorated pleasantly and was clean and in good condition. Nice touches like the jacuzzi, sauna and a Bluetooth speaker. Good fridge too.

Everything you need is provided, even tea, coffee etc. Lovely and warm. Beds are comfortable. Lovely steam room and jacuzzi.

Very spacious and clean room. Located in a quiet area away from the other apartments. Only a 5/10 minute walk from a supermarket/shops/restaurants. It was advised by the apartment to open the windows as much as possible throughout the day to keep the air flow. The windows had good secure locks on them which made us feel safe. The bed was very comfortable (2 singles which we didn’t mind at all). The bathroom was also nice and clean as well as the shower (2 shower heads to choose from). We didn’t know that we would also get a small bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body gel - very thoughtful gesture. Hair dryer included too. There is a mini kitchen located right next to the entrance door which was also clean and had everything from cutlery to tea, sugar, coffee machine and tin foil. Spacious fridge too. Easy connection to the TV with your mobile to watch Netflix/Disney Plus.

Perfect location, opposite Hotel Odinsve, Snaps restaurant and within a couple minutes walk to Rainbow Street, Hallimskirja church and shops and restaurants. Immaculately clean, lots of hot water, comfortable beds and linens. Full size fridge/freezer, small dishwasher with detergent provided and enough toilet paper to get 6 people through a couple days until we figured out where the Bonus grocery store was (close by on Laugervargar St). Electric kettle, no coffeemaker though, felt very safe, despite the young people wandering around at night. Would definitely stay here again! A fan was provided in one bedroom, a makeshift wardrobe in another, but no drawers - living out of a suitcase for a few days was no big deal. LOVED the hot tub, sauna and shower room! Figuring out how to fill it was a little challenging, but we did eventually. Big screen TV with Netflix worked (we only used it once). Everything was compact and all the necessities were provided. Could do with a sieve/colander as we made rice/pasta and there wasn't one. Also, 6 people need more than 6 cups and plates. Thankful we had a dishwasher! Heated tile floors, and tiled bathroom was lovely and warm. Windows opened for ventilation. Quiet neighbours upstairs, sauna was a great place to dry our wet coats and gloves.

We stayed as a family of four in a one-bedroom apartment in the Prime Minister’s Residence block, right next to the National Theatre, for three nights. The apartment was comfortable and spacious enough for all of us, with a double bed and a sofa bed that was already made up on arrival. Check-in was meant to be simple via the Flexipass app using NFC, but unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. I had to call reception, and they quickly sent someone over with a card key instead. The building itself was pristine and well maintained. Each apartment seems to have its own unique layout — our friends stayed on the second floor and had a fantastic room with a balcony, bathtub, and great views, while our ground-floor apartment didn’t have those features, but was still comfortable. A real highlight was breakfast: the fridge was stocked with breakfast items, and every morning fresh bread was delivered from a nearby bakery. It was a different type of bread each day so we had variety. Location is good and while there is no parking at the apartment, we could park our can in the back lane which was a mix of Zone 2 and Zone 3. We used the Parka app to pay for parking. This was cheaper than the multi level opposite the apartment building. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend Reykjavík Residence Hotel for its comfort, location, and those fresh bakery deliveries!

The apartment was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location is very central. Walking distance to a lot of things such as restaurants, whale watching tours etc. The breakfast and the fresh bread every morning were excellent. I'm glad I included the breakfast in our stay. You get a lot of food, fresh fruit, veggies, milk, juice, lunch meat, cheese, eggs, and the incredible Icelandic yogurt. Don't hesitate to get the breakfast. Staff is very helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Just returned from a 5 night trip to Iceland. The hotel was absolutely fantastic. Central location. Beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment (2 adults and 3 children). Apartment had a mezzanine with 2 single beds, living area with sofa bed and additional bedroom. Lots of storage space for clothes. Kitchen had a 6 person table and had modern appliances. Full height fridge/freezer. Induction hob and oven. Microwave and kettle. Well stocked with cutlery, plates, bowls and kitchen utensils. On arrival there was milk, juice, tea, coffee and cereal available in the room. We paid for breakfast which was a huge basket of breads, fruit, yogurts, cheese and cold meats (placed in your fridge the evening before). Milk and juices also replaced. Every morning a fresh sourdough loaf was left on the apartment door. We regularly had food left over from breakfast which we then had for lunch or dinner. Rooms were cleaned each day. Free laundry in the basement with washing machines, washing powder, dryers and iron. The hotel had everything you could need for a fantastic stay.

We enjoyed our stay in our studio suite in the Embassy building, room 301, very much. The room was plenty spacious for the 2 of us during our 3 night stay. The room was clean and well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. It had a nice kitchen area which included a microwave, toaster, coffee maker and plenty of plates, bowls and utensils. The location couldn't be better right in the center of everything, yet the room was totally quiet. The concierge service in arranging transportation was very helpful and much appreciated. The daily breakfast was delicious and satisfying. The only issue we had was with the shower. The slanted roof line in this top floor room made standing up under the shower impossible. I am over 6 feet tall, but even my wife who is 5ft 6, had difficulty showering. If you are over 5 1/2 feet tall, you will want to request a different room. Also, this room is up a flight of stairs, so it wouldn't be suitable for anyone not able to climb stairs.

WHAT AN AMAZING HOTEL!!! I really don't even know where to start on this review. Let's see, I booked one day ahead of time and I actually booked the wrong day and when we got there it was actually a day later than I had planned. This was not a problem whatsoever!!! The woman who did our intake simply changed it and she allowed us to check in at NINE AM!!!! We sat down and had the most wonderful perfect breakfast, the food , every single item was exquisite. It is a small buffet but honestly everything was cooked to perfection and there were SOOOO many options. I am vegan and was fully satisfied, they even had vegan chia pudding and all different vegan milks for coffee. They have free coffee and hot tea all day long. Can I also mention how CLEAN everything was. Immaculate. They have a little bar area that you can sit and enjoy a cocktail. They are within walking distance to the famous strip for shopping, we rented a car and there was ALWAYS parking available. The room is not enormous but who cares? The bed was super comfortable the view was SPECTACULAR, and they had everything you need from shampoo to moisturizer..... we are planning on going back in the summer and we will surely stay at this hotel again. The staff, the food, the location and maybe best of all is the view from our room of the mountains and bay. Thank you for a wonderful stay !!!!

Staff were professional, very welcoming , friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to ensure guests were happy; the breakfast quality and choice was excellent ; the restaurant/ lounge and bar area was relaxing and comfortable with a lovely atmosphere ; the bedrooms and bathrooms were well designed, cleaned to a high standard and comfortable; the location was excellent , with a wonderful view out at the front of the mountain and sea , close enough to the centre and main sightseeing attractions but peaceful and quiet; the small evening dining menu was also a great option especially on our arrival day and when we had an evening excursion booked.

I really liked this hotel, starting with my arrival – 2.5 hours before check-in – when I found that my room was already available and I had been upgraded from a single room to a double with an “ocean view” (the ocean was 500 meters away, but surely the ocean view was better than the view of the parking area in the rear of the hotel). The location was easy to reach by car and parking was problem-free. Once I arrived, I did not use the car because the hotel was close enough by foot to many sights (e.g., 15 min. to Hallgrímskirkja, 20 min. to Lækjartorg in the heart of the business district). The room was tastefully furnished and very clean and quiet, despite being close to the elevator and facing the street. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I also appreciated the in-room safe, a wardrobe with ample storage, the many electrical outlets and good lighting (except for the area near the desk, where the task lighting could be improved). There were blackout drapes on the windows which would be essential during the middle of the summer. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet (3590 ISK) was outstanding with organic eggs, local bacon and sausages, several excellent cheeses, great pastries and several Icelandic specialties such as rúgbrauð (rye bread), herring, skyr, etc., as well as standard items such as cereals, fruits, etc.

Our stay at the Eyja Guldsmeden a delightful experience from start to finish. The room was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. There was enough storage for clothes, along with a nice shower. The room was lovely, comfortable and quiet. For those renting a car, the hotel offers convenient parking both at the front and back, and we never had trouble finding a spot. The hotel’s location is great too—just a 5-minute walk to nearby food spots and a small convenience store for essentials. However, it’s about a 15–20-minute walk to Reykjavik's city center, which we didn’t mind, especially since the route is lined with souvenir shops. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Although it’s on the pricier side, it was absolutely worth it. The food was fresh, high-quality, and delicious, with both continental and cooked options available in a small buffet style. The scrambled eggs were particularly delicious. Overall, our stay at Eyja Guldsmeden was very enjoyable. The hotel’s comfort, great facilities, and excellent service made it an ideal base for exploring Reykjavik. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again

Comfortable eclectic atmosphere and style. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were large with all the amenities included. Hot water kettle in the room to make tea or coffee in the morning, however, coffee is free in the breakfast area off of the reception desk 24-7. Wonderful dinner menu good selection of wines and beers and cocktails, daily happy hour and wonderful breakfast. This hotel is listed as a preferred pick up location for scheduled multi day or one day tours. This was helpful for us. We did not have to walk to a bus station or to another pick up spot with our luggage. The location is a easy walk, however, to Laugavegur district for shopping The hotel staff is extremely professional and gracious, and they made the extra effort to secure a very early check-in after our flight from the USA. We were able to store luggage we decided not to take on our seven day tour. The entire staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Iceland!

We stayed here for 2 nights after driving the Golden Circle, and what a relief to get back to civilization. USB charging ports? checked. Thermostat in room? checked. The room is spacious by European standard, and we had a view of Reykjavik port. We were also given complementary access to the spa facilities (steam room, jacuzzi, sauna) which we did visit. Sorry I didn't ask if the access is because of the room rate or our Bonvoy status. Anyhow, spa is clean and quiet and a nice place to unwind and relax after a day of walking. The location is perfect, within walking distance to old town, tourist destinations, and most restaurants. But yet, even though it's close, the hotel is not on a public road so it's quiet and away from the drunken revelry in old town, especially on a saturday night when we're there. The breakfast spread is what you'd expect and service is attentive. In addition to the buffet, there are a couple of made-to-order stations, one of which is omelette. Sorry I forgot the other station. We were given credits to spend at the main restaurant TIDES so we also got some drinks and apps from the bar menu both evenings. The bartender was friendly and remembered us the second time and gave us some good suggestions on drinks and food.

This place is amazing!!! It's super easy to find in the city! Plus, they have a very accessible front entrance that allows taxis and other transportation to leave/pick you up right at the front. From the moment you get close to this location, you get a wonderful scent. (That they do sell in the spa) The staff, particularly Ben and the concierge, were incredibly kind and helpful. I did an early check-in, and when I got my room, it was a very spacious room with a nice view of their court yard and VERY clean. The spa is easy to schedule, and the facilities are clean. The bars and restaurants are all beautifully decorated (especially the rooftop bar) with great drink and food choices. The surrounding areas are very nice, with great accessibility to shops and restaurants along with stunning mountains and ocean views.

Had an AMAZING stay here! Booked through AMEX as a Fine Hotel—got a King Bed Loft! The room was huge, super spacious enough for 2 ppl, with a huge dining table bench and a living area with couch!! Room was clean and bed was comfy. Bathroom was spacious too—shower/bathtub separate from the toilet area. Service here was EXCELLENT—concierge, bellman, bartenders, etc. were all so friendly and helpful. Valet parking was straightforward and didn’t take long for our car to come. The lobby bar is pretty and good place for cocktails and light bites! Price to stay here is on the expensive side but it really did feel like a 5-star hotel!

Amazing staff, one of the best Hammam Spa experiences with amazing masseuse. Amazing buffet breakfast and restaurant with an equally loaded cafe, if you want to experience the city of Reykjavik, this new contender from Marriot is the place to beat. Amazing views of the Atlantic, central location, chic eclectic architecture, amazing rooftop bar and a club that is going to open soon, The Edition is the place to beat!

The hotel was in a great location on the harbour overlooking the water and mountains. We had a room with 2 double beds which was a good size with a well stocked mini bar. The restaurant was wonderful, reminiscent of a Viking boat with lots of natural wood and a great menu. I would recommend the catch of the day. The gents in the down stairs bar took great care of us sat at the bar or serving drinks by the fire or to the tables. The Sky bar is perfect for cocktails in the evening with stunning views. If you are heading out early the cafe is a good pit stop for a quick bite and does excellent coffee. A lovely team and a beautiful hotel in the heart of the city, great for exploring.

The studio was amazing value for money. It was a 15 mins walk into the city center so very convenient for all the sights. There is a great supermarket right next door which was good value, so we stocked up on our breakfast items. The apartment was very clean, warm, bright and modern. Also very quiet. We had everything we needed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the shower was amazing. We had a hire car and there was plenty of free parking on the opposite side of the road. Booking was easy and communication from Freya was helpful and thorough. We would definitely like to stay here again .

The property was clean and comfortable. The room has pretty much everything you need. The kitchenette was stocked with everything you need for cooking light meals. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. The apartment is quite near to Laugavegur, the Main Street for shopping and eating, and a grocery store near by. There is a wonderful coffee shop at the corner that is wonderful, and the apartments are used for tour pick ups.

Easy access, supermarket just around the corner, 10min walk to bus stop 12 (pick up location for all tours), clean, comfortable bed and pillows, quiet, fast wifi, friendly staff, fully equipped kitchen, hot shower, coffe and tea refills every day, cleaners coming every morning, fresh towels every day if you wish, etc etc. Much better than I could ever expect for the price paid. Absolutely worth it.

The apartment was exactly as the photos on the site show, and we were super impressed with how clean and well fitted everything was - the kitchen had toaster, kettle, microwave, stove and coffee machine and there's plenty of stores to get food / eat out. The bathroom was also perfect and bed very comfy. The apartment has wifi and found this to be of good speed. We stayed here so could travel the south of Iceland and found this a great place to commute from, being able to see the city of Reykjavik and then drive along Route 1 to reach Vik. The hotel is also on the list of those that most tour guides will drop off so was great for our Golden Circle tour. Freja also was very welcoming before our visit giving local tips and helping with some queries we had in advance. Overall a fantastic stay with no issues - would highly recommend!

Rekjavik is not big so this is a five minute walk from the main drag. It's secluded and quiet, with parking close by (opposite). It was warm and comfy and completely clean with the room being made up each day like an hotel (sachets of teas included). The kitchen was well supplied so we did make one dinner there and also it had all you could need for making lunches and a coffee filter machine. TV with BBC 1+2. 2 supermarkets nearby. pub and decent restaurant around the corner.

After 14 days of Icelandic adventures, 3,000 km by car, nights in a tent, and a very close relationship with Icelandic campsites, this apartment was like a wellness vacation for the soul and especially for my back. Huge, cozy, with a top-notch kitchen, a stunning view, and a bed that sent me into a deep sleep, a full 10 hours straight! (A record after two weeks in sleeping bag mode 😅) The washing machine and dryer were the icing on the cake. I flew home with clean laundry, a little luxury that my friends on the plane certainly appreciated. Check-in? Easy as pie with a code. Location? Perfect, Restaurants and Supermarkets right around the corner, yet still quiet. In conclusion: This apartment was the crowning conclusion to my island trip. I loved it. Thank you, dear team, you turned a tired adventurer into a clean, well-rested person!

My fiancé and I stayed at these apartments for 4 nights. The apartment itself was very easy to find and check in and out was a breeze. We were located on the 5th floor and enjoyed our view of the mountains. The apartment itself was perfect for the two of us. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The apartment was very clean upon arrival. The kitchen space is small but has everything you need to cook small meals (1 pot, 1 pan, 1 oven baking pan). They provide espresso pods which were delicious!! Overall the apartment is very quiet however one morning my fiancé was woken up at 6am by the loud gym class. This only happened one morning and honestly wasn't too too bad. The location of the apartment is awesome. Close enough to downtown Reykjavík and very convenient if you’re going down to the south coast or the golden circle. There is a grocery store across the street and a N1 self serve gas station close by which we found to have the cheapest gas in the area. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone coming to Iceland

The apartment was great and the view is amazing. We had an issue when we arrived of having the wrong apartment than we booked but customer service helped fast over the phone in 15 mins we got into the right apartment. The apartment is very spacious and modern and had everything we needed. It has a small kitchen so we can cook something small inside. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was clean. There was washing machines in the corridor of each level with available detergent and ironing board as well. The customer service were very helpful and responsive. The building has a free parking spots and with the car was around 15-20 mins to the center. There is Bonus market right across from the street, which came very handy. Highly recommend the place!

Overall it’s a good choice for our next visit. The bed is extremely comfortable and firm. The building and room are clean and quiet. The washer and dryer are clean and convenient. The cleaning lady was very kind to use her own phone to resolve our questions on the first day. You need to bring bath soap and cooking oil though. It would be helpful to have two towels for each guess instead of only one.

Unique stay in a dome with fireplace and hottub. When we arrived the dome was nice and warm, the hottub was pre heated and we got some welcome treats (candy and champagne). The shared kitchen is well equipped for a simple meal. The toilets and showers are spacious, warm and clean.

Seeing the Northern Lights in a hottub was superb. A memory we will never forget Each tub seemed to have a private tub even the cheaper pods. The rooms and hottub were so warm and we had an incredibly good sleep. The shower and kitchen were far nicer than expected.

Super cute cosy little dome right by the city, perfect location to get away from it all for the night. The dome included a jacuzzi which was a lovely surprise. All facilities were so clean and warm, a little photo wall to add you picture to, we actually found our friends from back home on the board!

Gorgeous place to stay everything was perfect. Lots of lovely extras included which was a nice touch. Got to see the northern lights from the jacuzzi and watch from our dome amazing!

We only had time for 1 night but wish we stayed longer. We stayed in the Hekla Dome and it was absolutely magical. Everything we needed and super cozy and homey. Loved the fireplace and the jacuzzi under the stars!

This hotel is really well located; it's within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants, the harbour and various key landmarks. Our room was clean and comfortable though a bit of a tight squeeze at times - if one of us was sitting at the desk, there was no room to pass across the room at the end of the bed, for example. By contrast, the shower was huge. The bathroom had a sliding door which didn't quite meet the wall at the other side - I would always prefer a proper bathroom door for privacy, especially if travelling with a friend rather than a partner. Also, and I've seen this in other reviews, the room did get very warm at times - we regularly had to leave the window open during the day so that we could sleep at night. The bed was large and comfortable and we had lots of hanging and storage space. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was an excellent buffet. Also, the restaurant does very good food, and has a two-for-one offer on main courses on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Admittedly we were a bit spoiled by another Reykjavik Hilton, the Parliament, prior to our 2-night stay at the Canopy. The Canopy is a very clean and stylish modern hotel with a Scandinavian hipster vibe and good service and food (breakfast buffet). The primary downsides were the noise at night (traffic and bar noise) and the funky room design. We had a dormer room with sloped attic ceiling and the bed was positioned so that one person had to constantly duck to avoid hitting their head. We also missed some of the amenities we enjoyed at the Hilton Parliament such as: Spa with geothermal pool inside, made to order hot entrees for breakfast (and a superior buffet) bathrobes and slippers in room, adjustable heat in room (as frequently Iceland hotel rooms can get too warm), real spoons for coffee, more toiletries, etc. Also our Parliament room was extremely quiet at night, ensuring a good night’s sleep.

Located in the center of the city, this hotel was perfect for exploration of the city, and for catching our tour groups. The staff was very attentive to our needs and quite friendly, that they remembered our names after four days, and numerous guests was impressive, at least to me. The rooms were very clean and had nice furnishings, and the water in the bathroom, was nice and hot. There were wine tasting nights, which many in the hotel attended, and the hotel gave a 20% discount for eating at the inhouse restaurant. But, it was the breakfast that was absolutely wonderful, it had Icelandic as well as buffet style food that would satisfy all tastes. The breakfast set you up for a wonderful day of touring. Had a vast selection of Lps, for you to take to your room and listen to, on a phonograph provided by the hotel, a great way to listen to the many musical genres of Iceland. Highly recommend this place, we will make this our home base next year when we return to continue our exploration of this gem of a nation.

Gosh, I don't know where to start. First, the staff was super cool and polite - and helpful. When we got to our room, I immediately noticed how clean and warm everything was. I think what struck me the most, coming in from a rainy journey from Keflavik, was the shower. The entire bathroom was awesome but, man, that shower was incredible. I could've spent the entire trip in there. The entire place was super clean and the location was insane. Walking to most places downtown and TONS to do and eat... and drink. Immediate access to shopping and bucket-list-crossing-off walks. Bus station 6 will be your friend for lagoons and other fun excursions. Breakfast was awesome, too. The common areas were perfect to get caught up on a smidge of work and take some phone calls away from my friend I was travelling with. Seriously, I will 100% stay here again.

Everything from the moment I walked into this property was perfect. The front desk staff was friendly. The lobby smelled amazing. The location of the hotel was very close to a bus stop so it was easy to access after coming in from the airport. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The bathroom tiles were heated! The breakfast was delicious and abundant with options. Every staff person I encountered in the hotel was kind and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I would not change one thing about the experience.
