Staff were excellent, very welcoming and informative. Booked all of our activities and restaurants for us - all of which were brilliant. They also drove us to each location and picked us up. Room looks as it does on the website. Good quality jacuzzi and sauna. Good views and comfortable bed.

We loved the location, the facilities and the view. The jacuzzi and sauna are a real plus. The personnel is available at all times and always ready to help. They are also super friendly. It’s a beautiful cozy room for a perfect stay in Lapland.

Love this hotel. Check in was fast and special , thanks to Ms Henna who was so jovial and friendly. This pretty red haired lady gave us so much information patiently with lots of smiles. We were there for our anniversary and she reserved a room with superb views. Thanks for the gifts too. The restaurant served delicious food, excellent service, good wine and please do try it. There is a fireplace in front of Reception, with burning logs in the evening and so nice to have a relaxing beer here. Breakfast was very good, high quality food. The room was wonderful, clean and modern. We saw aurora just outside our room and throughout the night. Truly amazing. Ample parking. Sauna is located in the bathroom and we can enjoyed the sunset from the window inside the sauna. This place is highly recommended and we hope to be back again in future.

Everything was so clean! The property was situated at the top of the fell which allowed us to see the Northern lights most night, the communal area was very welcoming and friendly, we had hot chocolate most nights and played games. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive! Highly recommend.

The room was really comfy, on two floors. The beds were great, in spite of typical Nordic separate mattresses. The views over the valley are beautiful. Other rooms are near and visible, but not obstructive. The reception and restaurant area is spacious and cozy and the breakfast delicious. We traveled with our dog and everyrhing was made easy for us.

Beautiful cabins with all modern luxuries. Beautiful modern scandinavian design and amazing views over Saariselkä town from the gorgeus fjell of Kaunispää! Fell in love and will return in future many times. Restaurant was great and sauna with fjell view was also wonderful. There was also option for hot tub, but chose to take it in future with someone lucky lady.

The locations and privacy were amazing. The units are a one minute walk from the highest spot in Saariselkä so you get amazing views and the best opportunity to see the northern lights. The layout was so cozy and the sauna was amazing. So clean too! And watching the aurora from a cozy bed was a once in a lifetime experience!!

Location has very awesome view, Clean, Quiet, Very big, Cozy room (room has everything and Sauna), The ceiling and windown glass is very clean and transparent, Room also has good view, CP value is excellent. We like this room very much even though we didn't stay during Aurora season, but we still felt perfect to stay with it.

If you are looking for a hotel which offers unparalleled views, an intimate and luxurious experience, fantastic food and warm and friendly hosts, look no further. Pasi and Nina, the husband and wife team and also the hosts of the hotel, made our stay of 4d 3n go by so quickly that we would have loved to stay longer if we could. Their hospitality, generosity, warmth exceeded all our expectations. You can see their passion and dedication in every detail of this property. The hotel is in Kakslauttanen, which you can get to by bus or taxi, and you can contact the hosts for a pick up from the bus stop there if needed. They responded quickly via email after our arrival time was delayed. The room is well furnished and has a beautiful view of the sky. It has a clean and modern bathroom, hot running water, heated flooring and a coffee machine. If you are lucky, you can catch the northern lights from your room as well. You can arrange for an in-house experience (snow mobile, snow shoeing) or external safaris (husky sledding, ice karting etc.) from the hotel. We had most of our meals in the property which were finnish cuisine, prepared by the in-house chef. The food and drinks were skillfully prepared and of restaurant standard, with prices comparable to other food and beverage options in the vicinity. We would highly recommend this property for couples who are looking for a special and unique experience in Lapland 👍🏻

Rooms were Fantastic, we'll set out with everything expected. The only thing to make the room better would be the option for hot chocolate as well as the tea/coffee provided. Breakfast had enough of everything we'd expect for a buffet continental. Restaurant whilst limited in options was very good and priced well. The reindeer sirloin and burgers were delicious! Staff were very friendly, approachable and always helpful. Reindeer tour with Visa as the guide was Excellent! Visa was an incredible storyteller.

This is by far the best winter destination I have ever been to so far. Aurora Queen Resort was definitely a big part of that. Nina and Pasi the owners are just lovely. Helpful, super welcoming, friendly and passionate. We didn’t arrive until 1.15am yet Pasi was regularly checking in on us (we were driving from Rovaniemi airport circa 3 hours) and greeted us when we arrived. We did the husky safari (a must), northern lights safari and snowmobiling. We felt very lucky that we actually managed to see the lights and they were completely mesmerising. The tour guide for the lights and snowmobiling is so enthusiastic about his job, you can’t help but be very engaged with him. The waitresses also super lovely, always willing to have a chat and recommend dishes or explain anything you were unsure of. The igloo. What a view! It was hard not to just stay in there the whole trip as everything was so beautiful. Really luxurious and cosy. The underfloor heating is a great touch. Designed by Pasi and interior design by Nina, the igloos definitely ticked all of our boxes. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, see you! ❤️

We had an incredible experience staying at the Aurora Queen Resort in Finland. The ice igloos were an amazing experience, and we loved being able to see the winter scenery right from our window. The heated windows were a great touch, ensuring that we always had a clear view of the stunning surroundings. But the real highlight of our stay was the incredible staff, especially the owners. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. They even gifted us a baby grow for our upcoming arrival, which was a really sweet and thoughtful gesture. Overall, we would highly recommend the Aurora Queen Resort to anyone looking for a unique and memorable winter getaway. Breakfast was really good, the room was exceptionally clean, the staff and other tenants were so kind, the facilities were great, the fireplace was nice, access to a sauna and spa during the night in the middle of the snow was amazing, and the overall vibe was fantastic. We also managed to see the northern lights very strongly from the accomodation. Love the all wood log cabin vibe!

Everything was perfect: super location, gorgeous room, reindeer just outside the houses and all very clean. The pool was a perfect treat after a day of driving!

We were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay here, I'm so glad we chose this hotel for our trip to Lapland as we found everything to be perfect. It was in such a good location near to everything. it's a very clean hotel as was our room which had comfortable beds, tea & coffee making facilities etc. Lovely & warm after the cold temperatures outside! There was a nice bar area which was very cosy & a lovely gift shop to buy souvenirs. The restaurant was nice with plenty of seating, We had breakfast & evening meal & couldn't fault the food at all, there was plenty of choice such as meatballs, pasta, turkey, roast beef, cold meats salads, cream cakes & desserts, also nuggets and chips for the kids, not forgetting the gala dinner on our last night which was beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, again plenty of choice, the crispy bacon & little black puddings were a favourite of mine. The staff were all friendly & would help you with anything you needed to know about Saariselka. Its something we will always remember & would love to return to the Snowflake Hotel one day.

Plentiful and delicious breakfast! Delightfully surprised at the array of off-season fresh fruit like melons, watermelon, and plums. Enjoyed the variety of cold and hot drinks and juices, as well as the hot foods. I didn’t eat the waffles. We had an apartment which was a manageable and pretty walk to the main hotel, even for my mobility challenged mother. We had two 2 bedrooms and one 1 bedroom booked. Their configurations were all different, and the management allowed us to check in early and had booked rooms close together, which was great. My parents really enjoyed their 1 bedroom and felt it was cozy. The sauna was lovely and I especially enjoyed the ability to go out to the snowy balcony to cool ourselves down. We stayed only 2 nights so didnt’ need it, but there was plentiful storage — Altho not a ton of space to open up the suitcases themselves. There are a few shops plus a bar and restaurant which were appreciated. I wish they had a bigger lobby to just hang out, esp if you couldn’t check in early — but not a deal breaker. The reception person was very kind. Walking distance to Kuukeli (?) shop and many restaurants. We had a car and the parking was easy and convenient.

We stayed for one night after traveling for 19 hours and it was perfect! The beds were so comfy, the staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was to die for! I tried new foods and the presentations were beautiful. The desserts were delicious and unique. The room had a balcony, and a sauna and it was extremely comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was incredible.

Great value for money. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a sauna in our room which was excellent. The staff were all friendly. Its in a great location to really explore saariselka. Lots of choice for breakfast, and we had a great buffet meal for dinner.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package to Santas Lapland. , Grandparents, son & family, daughter and her family total of eleven . The hotel is warm, clean but don’t expect five star luxury, our rooms were comfortable but the bathroom could do with an upgrade, the staff were both polite and helpful. We had breakfast and evening meals included which were a buffet and help yourself, the food was of a good quality and it was being replenished frequently . We were lucky enough on our first evening to be out with the children and saw the Northern Lights, where as some guests in the viewing room did not. We would recommend this hotel and would return.

An absolutely outstanding property. Very modern, kept to the highest standards and with exceptional facilities, including double shower, sauna, drying room, large dining table, excellent kitchen facilities and beautiful surrounds. The location is magical - we felt like the only people in the world - it was so peaceful. Our children loved diving into the deep snow in the garden and sledding down the very quiet road on the sled provided. Our only regret is that we didn’t book for longer.

It is a luxurious and spacious house with three bedrooms, a large sauna and a balcony with a wonderful view. It is an amazing location, as if it were a legend. Our group consisted of two families with children, and everything we needed was provided. We would definitely return to this house if we were to return to Lapland. It has been a pleasure staying in your amazing apartments and accommodations. Thank you very much!

Fabulous location, stunning views, excellent facilities, very clean and plenty of space for 8 of us. We particularly enjoyed the open plan area for relaxing in the evening. Glass frontage was lovely, drying room was so useful and perfect number of bathroom/toilet facilities for all of us. Host was lovely, excellent communication and patience when we were late arriving due to airport delays. We would love to return again.

We stayed in Villa Asta. As a couple it was extremely spacious and well equipped. We loved the sauna and the easy access to the back deck so we could do cheeky snow baths in between sauna sessions. The Villa is situated in a forest area away from town. While there are other cabins nearby it felt quite private and quiet. We didn’t have a car but we found it quite okay; It’s about 30 min walk into town to get groceries, which we didn’t mind because there are plowed, well lit and well signposted walking paths all the way into town through the beautiful forest. There is also a cafe (Laanilan Savottakahvila) about 10-15 min walk into the opposite direction, which again was easy to walk to. You can also catch the ski bus from this cafe. We found the Villa to be warm and cozy. And we loved the large windows that look out into the winter forest.

Spent a week at the hotel hoping to see some aurora, bit of low level activity but lots more low cloud (sees to be a common issue). Nice room and comfortable bed (2 singles), TV which had BBC News 24 on Ch 9, kettle and a good supply of tea, coffee and chocolate. Good WiFi in the room. Great shower and I do like a good shower :-) Despite the fact that it was -25c and colder during my stay the room was always comfortable. Don't make the same mistake as me I carted all my baggage into reception, checked in and then had to cart it all back out as I was staying in a separate building 150M away :-) The breakfast restaurant area is large with good breakfast and is in the same building as reception. The surrounding area has plenty of good walks through the forests and cross country loops

This hotel is nice, relative to typical Finnish standards of simplicity. Very clean, functional (we were upgraded to kitchenette with sauna). The hotel generally has a feel of the 70's. Compared to American hotels though, you must pay substantially more money in Finland to get a room comparable to an American hotel. Don't expect luxury anywhere in Finland (though we did not price out hotels over $150 so I cannot say whether there are luxury hotels in the higher market).

Thought the hotel was good. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was there. Food in the restaurant was good. You could pay more for posher trimmings, but our standard room had everything we wanted. Comfy beds and a good hot shower. Great location near ski hire shops and the start of the cross county ski trails. If you want a week of cross country skiing then this hotel in saariselka is just right, but if you want to sun bathe on the beach it's probably not the one for you.

Stayed one night while on our Scandinavian road trip and booked the upgraded room with breakfast. The room was very nice with a sauna and balcony, and the buffet breakfast was also very good.

Hotel location is nice. It stands on edge of town and national park, so that convenient for shopping or eating out to town side and also easy to enjoy hiking in the woods or aurora watching at hill top hut. Breakfast is delicious. In-room sauna is very comfortable.

It was a comfortable stay: large room, quiet, equipped well with furniture. The uncontested highlight was in-suite sauna: spacious, clean, really enjoyable! The hotel staff is friendly and eager to help with any request. Location in Saariselka is central, walking distance from many restaurants, national park, ski resort. Hearty breakfast and dinner buffet. What could be improved is shower stalls; replacing curtains with glass walls. Both showers in our room were too close to the toilet seat, and the curtain doesn't really prevent water splashing, no matter how we tried to avoid that. Not the best arrangement in terms of hygiene.

The rooms are somewhat old but well-maintained and clean. The breakfast was a hearty spread with some vegetarian options. The staff was the best thing about the place and were very helpful. They had sledges for pulling kids along and good advice for where to go for a hike. The sauna was free to use between evening hours and was well maintained. There is a small market within the place and if you don't want to, you don't need to go out in the cold to buy microwavable food, milk, beer, or souvenirs. Perfect place for a snowy vacation.

We stayed at the HCS as part of our adventure with Santas Lapland and we were not disappointed. We had a large 3 bed apartment just a short walk from the main building (which was actually two bedrooms and a bed in the living room) which was enormous, clean and comfortable. One bedroom had a double bed, the other two singles and the lounge had a massive fold down bed - all very comfortable. The kids also loved the in-room sauna. We had a drying unit which looked like a stand up fridge freezer at first which was incredible at drying clothes in no time at all - we could do with one of these at home! Breakfast is plentiful and loads to choose from. Our only criticism would be to get better toasters - they are sooooooo slow. Other than that, no complaints from us. the evening buffet meal was lovely as well. Good choice of food, nice and hot and really tasty. We have never done a winter break before, but can safely say we will be back in Saarielska very soon :-)

Really big hotel, the room was big and comfy! had a really nice sleep, plus there is a sort of dryer in the bathroom, very hand! Reception and boutique opened 24/7, no restaurant but a perfectly serviceable buffet for dinner and breakfast. And, you have Reindeer roaming the premises!!!!

Such an amazing resort, Everything they prepared glass igloo, chalet amazing , staff was so helpful they organized all your stuffs pick up dorps your activities. Breakfast and dinner were so fantastic. Amazing views surrounding chalet or igloos also sauna in your chalet was amazing experience . I'd booked chalet for 3 nights and it's completely worth. Unfortunately I couldn't see aurora but definitely I'll come again. It's completely worth of money

From airport transfer to check-in, it was smooth. The room is perfectly located near the reception and the restaurant. Staff were helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean, and they provided us with fresh, laundered towels. Housekeeping will come every day asking if you need anything. Arranging for your activities is easy, but I would recommend booking it online via their website. The breakfast buffet was really good and dinner every night is a different menu. I am definitely recommending this resort and will be coming back for sure!

The meals were great. I didn't know what to expect but they definitely were better than I had expected. Breakfast was plentiful and dinner was very filling. The room was great as well - always warm and toasty, the bed was comfortable, nice view looking out at the property. I also thoroughly enjoyed the outings I organized with them - a reindeer safari, husky safari, and snowmobile sleigh. Although I had to walk a few minutes to the sauna, the facility was AMAZING. The staff was always friendly and helpful to me. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the wonderful aspects of this place. I would recommend!

We booked an igloo in the east village for one night to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and my partner proposed! For this reason this place will always be special to us. The view from the igloo (and also outside in the forest) is stunning. The glass is heated so even though it was snowing heavily it melted the snow so we could still appreciate the view. The walk from the east village to the main building was so magical at night with the lights and snow. Thankfully our igloo had a toilet. Half board was included (dinner and breakfast) and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I recently stayed at Wilderness Hotel Muotka & Igloos and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Room: My room was an absolute dream. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had every modern comfort you could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail was evident in everything. Facilities: The hotel’s facilities were top-notch. I enjoyed the all the activities immensely except for the Husky sled ride. I had breakfast and dinner at the buffet, and the selection was outstanding—fresh, delicious, and varied. Location: The location of the hotel was also perfect. It offered a peaceful retreat away from the bustle. Whether I was walking around or taking a short ride to nearby attractions, everything was within easy reach. Service: What really stood out was the service. The staff was attentive, polite, and genuinely seemed to care about making my stay as enjoyable as possible. They anticipated my needs without being intrusive, and I always felt well taken care of. The concierge helped me book fantastic activities, and I was impressed by their local knowledge and suggestions.

Buffet breakfast and evening meals were delicious. A varied selection, enough to keep our group happy! Some exceptional dishes and replenished frequently! Main lounge area was peaceful and well maintained. Staff were attentive but also allowed you to enjoy without over fussing. Wifi in lounge was good - 4G was available in rooms/lodges. We stayed in a riverside cabin, it was beautiful! The resort was peaceful and kept us happy! Transfers were prompt and well organised. Everything was very clean and well maintained- tables cleared and wiped, log fire burning, water free to take as wanted. A little basket of toiletries in the public bathroom (a nice touch)

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful location! The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our check-in process was quick and easy, the main lodge was cozy and beautiful and we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner there very much. We appreciated that we did not have to travel off of the property to find meals. The area is very beautiful and perfect for long peaceful walks in nature. A beautiful location. The view of the forest from the huge window in the log cabin was stunning. The woodfire made our stay there particularly cosy, atmospheric and comfortable. Since there is very little to do there in the evenings, no tv and it is quite far from town, it would be nice if the log cabins came with some boardgames. There are some basic games available at reception but the selection could be improved. The shower is nice and hot and the sauna in the log cabins is a nice touch. The staff onsite are very friendly and there is a good selection of good quality food available daily at the buffet breakfast and dinner. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a stunning location.

The location of the resort is out of the city, in to the forest and is a perfect location for spotting northern lights. The igloos were cosy and comfortable. The buffet served in their restaurant was good and had lots of varieties. The staffs were quite helpful. The rooms were clean and each of the igloo is equipped with a sauna.

We had such an amazing time during our stay. The cabins were exceptionally comfortable, with stunning views of the sky. The buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was always clean, with a great variety of delicious food. We were fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights every single night, and it was truly magical. The resort even has a mobile app that alerts you when the aurora is visible, and they turn off the lights to enhance the experience. The staff were outstanding everywhere we went. The activities were once-in-a-lifetime experiences—especially the husky sled ride with Anatol and the private snowmobile adventure with Diego. A big thank you to the bar and restaurant team: Eirini, Alexandra, Konstantina, Christos, Alekos, and Thomas, for being so kind and generous. I stayed in a cabin on the last row which was quiet and less light polution, a perfect spot for night photography. It has an amazing view of the forest. Inside the cabin was clean, warm and cozy. It contained everything you need. The dinner buffet was also nice. Every staff was attentive and friendly. It is a short distance walk from the center and bus stop. Overall, it was my amazing experience and 100% worth the money.

We had the most amazing time during our stay at the northern lights village. The cabin was an experience on its own, cozy and yet spacious. The food was very good and we particularly liked the extended time for breakfast and dinner (e.g., dinner from 5pm to 9pm). The experiences offered by the hotel are truly life experiences. We went on the snowshoeing in the forest, the aurora camp by the lake, the aurora camp on the border, snowmobiling, and reindeer express. The experiences are very well organised, and they afforded us the most beautiful views our eyes have ever seen. We also went to the Saariselkä ski resort one day which is not part of the hotel but it’s a 5 minute drive and the hotel offers a transfer. The hotel also offers a transfer to and from the hotel and everything went so smoothly! If I had to choose one, I’d say that the most precious thing about the northern lights village is the staff. Every single one was exceptionally friendly and helpful, from the staff in the reception, in the restaurant, the drivers and tour guides. Special thank you to guide Marcelo, who loves Saariselka and went above and beyond to show us the beauty that he sees in this magical place. Our snowmobiling experience with him was indescribable and unforgettable.

I really can't find words that accurately describe the wonderful stay I had at NLV 🫶🏽 The staff was very friendly... from the guy who picked me up to take me to the hotel to those who served me at the hotel, the restaurant and the activity guides. The room is a dream...a wonderful aurora cabin, with incredible views and a magical atmosphere...I got cabin #1...it's quite far from the center of the village, but it's the best, because you have the whole forest to yourself. The cabin is small but has everything essential for a comfortable stay. Clean bathroom with shower and hot water! Large and comfortable bed to rest and heating to keep you warm. Living room, refrigerator with mini bar to spend free time. The restaurant hall is very large, the food delicious and lots of variety. I booked reindeer sledding, husky sledding, cross country skiing, snowmobile and aurora camp by the lake...all activities were excellent. Even if you don't book any activities, it's an excellent village to relax and experience the real winter in Finnish Lapland. I hope one day I can go back to NLV 🫶🏽

Great place really well run. Super helpful and friendly staff. We stayed 5 nights in Feb 2023 in cabin 17, which was great. Cabins 1 to 20 are at the northern most edge of the resort, so you have nice views north of trees and the aurora, and not looking at the backs of more cabins. Top tip, there is a path not shown on the map from opposite cabin 17 direct to reception. First morning we went to reception and arranged activities for every day with the super helpful staff there – snowmobiling, dog sledging, reindeer sleigh ride, and aurora lake trip, all of which were great fun. Good views of the aurora from the warmth and comfort of our cabin when the clouds cleared. Views from the lake (and on route to the lake) were even better due to darker skies. Thanx to Lancashire Matt for a great fun snowmobile ride along interesting back route paths on Lynx 600cc snowmobiles – they were pretty easy to drive, with no gears and lovely heated grips. Dog sledging was with 5 dogs pulling, one person sitting in the sledge and the other driving / hanging on for dear life :-D Swapped driver and passenger half way. Lovely scenery, but very chilly, so I'd recommend wearing a ski mask. Reindeer sleigh ride was nice and sedate, at walking pace, nicely wrapped up warm, again through nice scenery. Good location, clean and comfortable, very calm area. You can easily reach the center of Saariselkä for shopping or activities. The private sauna was amazing.

Well-equipped and very cozy apartments with a fireplace, sauna, and a kitchen with all the necessary stuff. The host is responsive and helpful. A fantastic spot to watch the northern lights!

Very happy with this place! Walking distance from everything, beautiful surrounding, nice and clean appartment with everything available that you can need. It made our stay absolutely perfect.

The location was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We enjoyed the fireplace.
