We had a great time visiting San Pedro de Atacama! La Astacion Lodge met all of our needs for our friends group trip. Xiaolin was so helpful leading up to our arrival - she was very responsive on WhatsApp and could answer a lot of questions about the town for us and gave lots of recs for tours and things to see around. When we arrived she moved us to a bigger room to better accommodate our group. The beds were very comfy and while the bathroom was sparse/small, it was clean and had great water pressure in the shower. There were A/C units in the room and beds were made daily. The kitchen has lots of snacks/coffee/tea for everyone and is open 24/7 which was helpful for early morning / late night sight seeing. Xiaolin will make eggs or espresso if you’re there for normal breakfast time; there’s also bread cheese ham etc. There is a parking area within the property that is closed off from the main road behind a gate which made us feel safe with our rental car. The location is very close to the Main Street in San Pedro de Atacama so very convenient for going out to eat, shopping etc. The accommodations are somewhat rustic but more than meet our needs for the trip and was definitely a great place to stay in town!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and clean hotel. Everything we needed was available—from air conditioning to private parking for our rental car. The atmosphere was simple yet homely, and I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived. Special thanks to the host, Xiaolin, who was incredibly attentive and helpful—even assisting with booking tours. Her attention to detail made all the difference! She went above and beyond to make sure our laundry was done on time, which was a huge help during our travels The kitchen was open 24/7 and impressively stocked: sugar-free yogurt, linaza seeds, fresh fruits, and even avocado. It felt like a home away from home. Location-wise, it was perfect—just steps away from the main street, yet quiet and peaceful. I’d definitely stay here again!

The host Xiaolin is the best we have met. She is very responsive and arranged everything for us from airport transfer, all the tours, New Year Eve dinner booking and laundry etc. The room is very clean with comfortable beds. Location is amazing. All the tour drop off just a few meters away. A few mins walking to the main street for grocery and restaurants/bars. Nice plunge pool for children to have fun after tours. Kitchen is equipped with all sort of coffee, juice, cereals, breads, fruits, coffee and dairy stuff. Nice sitting areas indoor and outdoor. Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back next time.

This place is excellent! The location is perfect and Xiaolin is so kind, helpful and efficient. There is a 24/7 breakfast room available that has a huge variety of snacks and drinks with an indoor and outdoor sitting area. The room was nice and comfortable and the lodge is situated in a perfect location for all the tours - close enough to the main road for easy access to the shops and restaurants but still far enough (2 mins) to be quiet at night for a comfortable sleep. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Sometimes a traveler is lucky enough to find a place where the hotel staff or manager treats you like a friend and invites you to make the hotel your home. For us, the Nueva Lodge was this place. Xiaolin, the manager, was so friendly and welcoming. She arranged all the details of our tours and followed up every day to make sure things were going smoothly. Xiaolin is the reason we chose this hotel and I’m so glad we did. She is a delight to talk to and she went out of her way to accommodate my husband who is gluten free. The location was perfect. Just a few minutes walk to the main pedestrian street but in a quick corner. We stayed in the family sized air conditioned room. The bed was comfortable, the room was great, and the shower was very large with plenty of hot water. The breakfast options are considerable — we had yogurt, fruit, and fresh bread daily, but Xiaolin would have made us eggs with ham, cheese, etc if we wanted. We had a wonderful stay here and would stay here again if ever in San Pedro.

The location is excellent, in downtown, close to restaurants, tour business, etc. Although it is in downtown, it is still a quiet and relaxing location. Breakfast was amazing. It is not the buffet style breakfast but you order from the menu and you can order as much as you want. Everything was well prepared, fresh and tasty. The breakfast pan amasado was amazing. The pool area was quiet, nicely decorated with comfy chairs and towels available. It is an outdoor pool. The rooms were nicely decorated with high quality sheets, mattress and pillows. It was clean and bottles of waters were left everyday in the room (for free). The bathroom was big, of a modern design with nice bathrobes available. Showers were great. Their products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, body cream) where all in big bottles (no struggling to make sure you had enough) and where high quality. Even small tins of lip protection are available (weather can be hot and dry). Wifi is available and works well. All personnel was professional, very helpful and very friendly. Overall, it is a great place to stay. I will definitely stay there again if I travel to beautiful San Pedro de Atacama again.

What a wonderful experience! Hotel Desertica offered very comfortable and esthetically pleasing accommodations with top notch service. The rooms are all individual huts, each with a large (and very comfortable) bed, a private bathroom and shower, and each very spacious and nicely decorated. The staff members were among the friendliest and most hospitable individuals I have run across. A special note of recognition to Freddy, Silvia, Valeria, Estrella, Melania, Sonia, and topping it off with Cristobal. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of San Pedro de Atacama, and you step off to the main street where all of the shopping, restaurants, and tour companies are all located - yet just at the end of the street so that you can escape the hustle and bustle and have a comfortable place to relax. The food was excellent and thus we chose to eat all of our meals there… our favorites included starting the day with an amazing breakfast with scrambled eggs and pancakes, then a delicious salmon sandwich for lunch, and a heartwarming pumpkin soup for dinner! The hotel is definitely pet-friendly, as the staff spoiled our little girl with treats and constant attention. Between the friendliness of the staff, the ideal location, and the great atmosphere, I highly recommend this hotel as the top choice when visiting San Pedro de Atacama.

Hotel Desertica is an oasis--with excellent service and food too! Carolina at reception and Freddy in the restaurant were as professional, friendly and helpful as people could be! The setting, a cluster of bungalows beside a pool and restaurant/bar in what used to be a garden, is dreamy, and we looked forward to returning every afternoon after our daily excursions. The rooms were spacious, and the bed were comfortable too. It's an exceptional hotel--and right in the centre of town!

The design of the spaces was beautiful! I would describe it as "Andes chic" with lots of local details, such as woven textiles, ceramics, and baskets. The walkways are gorgeous and underlit to help you navigate to your room. The mattresses are very comfortable and high-quality and the bathrooms are comfortable in size, for some, you have to step down. The location cannot be beaten! The hotel is at the end of the main street, so it is close to everything, and at the same time, it feels private. The staff was amazing! They were friendly, happy to share their favorite tidbits, and respectful of your privacy. The breakfast (included in my stay) has so many delicious options that you could skip lunch if needed. The bar/restaurant includes local favorite herbs and jams.

This is a beautiful property in a fantastic location right on the main stretch of town. It’s at the far end though and you feel quietly tucked away which allows for quiet rest and relaxation. The rooms are really nice, clean and spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. I was worried when I saw the property didn’t have AC but the rooms stay cool and there is a nice big fan to create a breeze (and doubles as a great white noise machine). The breakfast was great with lots of options and the other meal we ordered for dinner one night was also really good. Great drinks at the bar and the staff is really kind and helpful.

Fantastic place. Nice facilities. Jacuzzi at night with the sky full of Stars was a key point; NO COST FOR IT. Team hotel warm and friendly. You may ask for sandwiches and fruits for a traveling at NO COST. Walking from the Hotel to San Pedro village was nice and secure.

One of the best bed & breakfast properties we’ve ever been to. Wonderful staff who make you feel completely at home, delicious breakfast and utilities available to make your own food too. Rooms are super comfortable and clean, and lots of outdoor areas to enjoy including a pool and a jacuzzi underneath the stars. We wish we could have stayed longer and we’re already dreaming of coming back one day.

Katarina was so helpful and welcoming from start to finish. We had a few requests re trips which she dealt with very well. Location was peaceful outside main area/ restaurants, but within easy walking distance. Our Room was very comfortable and spacious . Large bed with lovely sheets etc . The outdoor areas were quiet and relaxing. Just what we needed after 3 days overland trip through salt flats etc . Smallish pool,coldish/refreshing, but felt warmer each day we were there. Circumstances meant we stayed slightly longer than initially intended,but we enjoyed the relaxing downtime in our travels, in this lovely little oasis. Breakfast was a good choice and fresh . Tea and water were available during day .

Casa Solcor is absolutely exceptional. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. It was our honeymoon and they went out of their way to make us feel extra special. The pool area is gorgeous and very clean and spacious. The whole place has been decorated very stylishly but in keeping with the area. The entire place is immaculate- staff are constantly around cleaning and making it look amazing. The place is set up as a house - so you are able to help yourself to fresh fruit, tea, coffee, beer, wine! We loved it so much we cooked one night and stayed in :) the breakfast is also FABULOUS- I ate the best pastries I’ve tried during my entire trip around Chile. This place is a little oasis of paradise. Would highly recommend staying :)

We had a really nice time at the Hotel Cumbres. The rooms are well decorated and spacious, the beds are comfortable and cozy. Everything is very clean. The breakfast was very good, several warm and cold options. We also enjoyed the food at the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It’s a beautiful hotel, with very spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and the indoor/outdoor showers were fantastic, makes me wish I had that option at home! The pools were also lovely, and the breakfasts were delicious and the staff were always very helpful and attentive. Considering how dusty the air can get, it was impressive how clean everything was!

Reception and customer service was great! Staff very friendly and absolutely helpful. Although the hotel is located slightly out of the town center, they do provide very convenient and reliable shuttle service. The free bike rental was a huge plus as well! There are 2 heated pools which you'd need in October Bed was very large We liked the fact that the room had a balcony which overlooked the mountains in the distance At night, if you went to the end of the hotel to what was the observatory, you'd be able to see the stars, really an extraordinary sight Breakfast was a decent spread though quite a similar spread. We enjoyed it nevertheless. Lots of lounging space around the hotel

I completely loved this awesome place, best hotel ever, people is very very nice, Santiago from the front desk is super nice, you can tell he loves his job, his willingness to help you. All staff is very supportive and friendly, they welcome you with honest smiles. The hotel is beautiful, very comfortable, the design worth some nice pictures. Delicious breakfast, I don’t have anything bad to mention. I loved they have bicycles, so you can go on a ride if you arrive before the check in, they also have sunscreen and body lotion at the front desk, nice detail to help you with Atacama’s weather. The woman that helps with the cleansing of the hotel (the one that owns a dog) is very kind, she makes you feel like home. 300% recommended this place! Thank you all! 🥰

Hotel Cumbres is a wonderfull hotel, the room has a spetacular view to the desert and is very comfortable with a big and comfy bed. Breakfast is good with a lot of options and receptionists are always available to solve your problems. They have transfer every single day from 1pm to 10pm to "downtown" or you can grab a bike (both included). In the begning of the night you can fell a bad smell because of recycle of water but inside your room you don't smell it.

I was here for 3 night for the usual desert fun. Given the price ranges of the various hotels in the area, I expected that this might be a very basic hotel, but it was really quite nice! Both the buildings and the grounds are attractive. The bar/restaurant/lounge area is pretty and comfortable; big windows to let in the sun and a timber ceiling. Breakfast was simple but satisfying: eggs, bacon, yogurts, cereals, breads, juices, espresso machine and teas. There was also a very good Chilean wine selection, and a few beers to try. Lunch and dinner were good, though the selection was small. It was a 10 minute walk down a quiet dirt road to the center of town, where there were a ton of restaurants. I felt safe doing this walk by myself in the daytime and the early/late evening. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was big and very warm in the midst of winter, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower.

This hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and comes with lots of little helpful extras. It has a restaurant with good food, stocked bar, free breakfast, free water, coffee, and tea all day, and they even fill your water bottle up with free purified water for excursions. They left a bagged lunch (free) and free towels for us for our early morning excursion since we couldn't stay for breakfast. I ended up saving money because of these little perks. The staff was very friendly and helpful (we didn't get picked up one morning for an excursion, and they had the company there in 5 minutes to get us and take us to join the tour), and they will help you arrange every tour you want to do. The grounds are huge, gorgeous, safe, and secure -- my 10- and 6-year-olds spent hours outside playing between excursions -- a great break for me. They had two resident cats and peacocks roaming the grounds. The room was stunning. We had two bedrooms with 3 twin beds and one queen. They were well heated, and there was plenty of hot water. They even offer showers after check out. The hotel is a about a 5 minute walk from downtown, but I ended up liking being away from all the tourists and being able seeing the stars, and the tour buses all dropped us off at the hotel anyway. If you venture out at night, you will need a flashlight. I would definitely stay here again. Best part of our trip.

Lovely staff. 8 nights stay. No evidence of general manager. 1--And eco friendly oasis. But endless boom box music throughout the complex. Inappropriate and far from relaxing. 2- Pool lovely but badly need to invest in modern functional sunloungers. Impossible to get comfortable with what is there. Also poorly maintained. 3--There is Black plastic Rat Catcher Box literally outside dining room. Very bad. 4-- On arrival and when having lunch the manageress was holding a zoom call on her laptop shattering the quiet of tye dining area and we could hear the whole call that went on for 25 mins. That should have been done in an office. We went on vacation not to hear her business call while dining. 5-- Pool area is for relaxation. Guests brought boom boxes shattering the quiiet quiet. Also endless loud poolside facetime calls and showing no regard for the "peaceful" atmosphere they say is there. It is not peaceful. 6-- Management should have signs throughout advising of "quiet areas" where facetime, cpnference calls and such are not allowed. Otherwise it is like any other hotel.

Beds, bedding, and linens were great. Walking distance to town and its many restaurants. Property is very nice, clean and well kept. Rooms were spacious and comfortable (after we scored a fan from the front office since there is no ac) . The extra outdoor shower was a nice add-on to view the millions of stars. Beautiful delicious breakfast buffet with a la carte options. Nice outdoor seating in the garden. Delicious drinks and cold beer.

This hotel is perfect for those who want a nice clean hotel but don't want to pay the high prices that the luxury hotels in the area are charging. My room was quite large with a vaulted ceiling, shower, outdoor shower and safe. The staff at the hotel are all friendly and helpful. I ate every dinner (5 nights at the hotel) and was extremely happy with the food. Would recommend this hotel to anyone without reservation.

Location is a bit outside of the village, but it’s a quiet area. The staff is very helpful. We could check in earlier and by checking out, we were allowed to leave the luggages and hang around the hotel until we were picked up for the airport. We were leaving early in the morning for activities and they packed us breakfast every day. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Our room had a terrace too, so was nice to sit outside in the evening. You can also see the sunset from the main terrace of the hotel.

The Hotel Casa Algarrobo is excellent! The rooms are great, super comfortable and great bathrooms facilities. Great breakfast as well! Cozy and enjoyable sharing area with the swimming pool! And about the staff, that’s the cherry on top of the cake, friendly and helpful staff! Wifi was great on common areas and also on my room it was working properly.

Loved my stay here! I stayed here twice, before and after a group tour. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, and very friendly staff! Good breakfast, and if you leave early in the morning (for example my tour started at 6 am), they make a breakfast box for you (is at the reception next morning with your room number on it)! Would stay here again in the future or recommend this hotel to other travelers!

The rooms at this hotel are very small and basic. The bathroom is very small and the shower over the bath difficult to access. There are no safes in the room. Also no air conditioning but we were able to borrow an electric fan which was a life saver. There is a large outdoor pool which is cold. Pool towels are provided. There is a bar with a good range of drinks including a happy hour. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is quite close to the main street where all the restaurants are situated. Breakfast is a buffet and adequate.

The hotel was clean and had 2 beds which was good. The rooms a bit run down. The hotel staff were good , but non of them spoke English which was stressful .Was unable to order food at the restaurant because it had no translation in English. It took time to use google translation. The food menu needs to be translated into English , would help as the main form of income in San Pedro is tourist. Gabriel in the restaurant and bar was very helpful and went out of his way to help us with the translation as he spoke some English. Amazing swimming pool ,but not heated so could not use it. Overall the hotel was good but slightly outdated. Walking distance to the main strip.

This is a nice hotel in San Pedro. It is a very clean and cozy hotel with a new part that is newly renovated. Staff is nice and helpful, and the beds are comfortable. It is very well located, but San Pedro is a small town, so you can walk everywhere.

I am a female solo traveler and I stayed at the hotel for four nights. Hotel is centrally located and extremely walkable to the main street and various restaurants. Staff friendly and professional and I felt very safe during my stay.

We stayed in a cabin and was very comfortable. The bathroom is a little small but it is clean. Breakfast was also good. Not a lot of options but very tasty. Reception desk always helpful and pleasant.

We greatly appreciated the whole ambience - clean modern room with adjoining outdoor areas for relaxing, safe parking, inclusive 24 hour hot drinks (inc. good coffee) , breakfast spread, good quality restaurant, and attentive, helpful staff. All within easy walking to the centre of town. Not the cheapest but probably the best hotel for a comfortable stay in San Pedro de Atacama.

We had an incredible 3-night stay at this hotel. It is close to the main streets of SPA and within walking distance of all the restaurants nearby. The front desk was very helpful. Our initial room was too noisy (right by the entrance), and the front desk had no issues moving us to a quieter corner. The breakfast was amazing. You get to try various pastries and hot items that that hotel restaurant has to offer. We also enjoyed the fresh fruit and smoothies offered during breakfast. You can find complimentary water, coca tea, and coffee 24/7 at the lobby. Bring a water bottle to save the planet. We also had dinner at the hotel on our first night. The lamb chop was to die for! There is a pool, but we never got to use it. We were here during the winter season (early June), so by the time we were back from any day trips, the pool was too cold for us to swim in. Highly recommended!!

San Pedro de Atacama has a bustling dusty and active tourist center of 4 or 5 blocks by 4 or 5 blocks....This hotel is just outside the busy center, but very walkable and a welcome respite from the busyness...Hotel La Casa de San Tomas, and the added Refugio, offer a very peaceful and pleasing place to be once one has been to the town center or gone on an excursion to the surrounding natural beauty locations. The rooms are modern and large, many with beautiful views. The breakfast and dinner food is excellent, and all three meals are available. The front desk staff is very helpful.

We had a great stay in Don Tomas. The room was very comfortable and the showers hot. Breakfast was first class especially the amazing French croissants: the best we had outside France! The staff was very helpful especially after returning from a 4 day trip to Uyuni, Bolivia. We were able to have a hot shower and tea and coffee while waiting for our transfer back to Calama airport. They also kindly looked after our luggage for free.

We stayed in the new Refugio (to be mentioned when organising transport to excursions and the airport). A bit away from the busy centre, with a beautiful view of the volcanoes. All day soft drinks available at reception including a professional coffee machine. Facilities new, super clean, highly professional staff. The bed was huge and the bathroom, especially the shower excellent.

Beautiful hotel, just off the main Street so close to the bars, shops, restaurants and travel agencies but very quiet. The pool was lovely, with a nice comfortable seating area. The room was lovely, didn’t need air con as it was shady, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was really good, they left out early breakfast buffet for anyone going on a trip before official breakfast time

My sister and I stayed at the Hotel Tulor for 3 nights in September prior to going on a Salt Flats tour, partially so we could acclimatise to the altitude. The Tulor is just one block/short walk from the main street in San Pedro where you will find all the tour companies, restaurants, shops etc, but it was really quiet at night. The hotel itself is really quite charming, redish brick, but was well insulated as I don't recall using the heater. There are a few quirks, like having to run the tap in the sink prior to getting hot water in the shower, but nothing overly troublesome. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot. The level of English varied a little bit from staff member to staff member, but we got by with our broken Spanish and a phrase book where English wasn't understood. The staff were very friendly, and ensured they left out towels for us to take on our Tatio Geysers tour, they also do up breakfast boxes, but they asked for our tour company so I think it depends on whether your tour provides breakfast or not. The breakfast on offer each morning is pretty good, mainly just standard hotel fare, but good enough to get you through to lunch. Overall quite enjoyable, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

We stayed in Hotel Tulor for 5 nights during our recent visit to Atacama desert. There were some initial confusion and misunderstanding over the room arrangement, but the front desk staff and management was able to resolve the issue quickly and efficiently. Danielle speaks perfect English and was very helpful in answering all of our questions. Hotel is very close to the main street where all the shops and restaurants are located, yet its architecture style blends in well with its desert surroundings, and it retains a peaceful ambiance. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is a generous spread of bread, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, scrambled egg cooked fresh, and variety of fruits. There is a small pool in the center of the courtyard, unfortunately, we were too busy touring the region to take advantage of it.

We absolutely loved the Hotel! The location was very convenient. The staff was always friendly, courteous, helpful, polite. They were all awesome. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We always had hot water and always had good water pressure for taking showers. The breakfast was really good. Lots of juices, pastries, bread, ham and cheese, tea & coffee and they would make you fried or scrambled eggs if you asked them too and if they weren't on the menu that morning. We loved the hotel and the staff. I'd stay there again and again!

We had a lovely 5 day stay at this hotel. Great location, minutes walk from the Main Street. Friendly, helpful staff. Dining room looked lovely but due to early starts we didn't have breakfast there. The grounds were lovely and the pool kept very clean. Our room was very comfortable and clean.

The town of San Pedro de Atacama is full of hotels, guest houses and hostels. But this one, located about 10-minutes drive from the town center is unique. It is a self-contained oasis of a resort in the desert, with multiple swimming pools and Jacuzzi pools; and a fascinating lobby; plus rooms that are uniquely designed to blend into the landscape. A bit pricey; but worth every penny.

Fabulous hotel with friendly, helpful staff; luxurious rooms; brilliant pool area/spa & amazing restaurant. Spectacular views of desert & mountains. Peaceful as out of town yet still close to central San Pedro. We were the only guests with a child (3 years old) yet felt totally relaxed to be travelling as a family. Hotel would be ideal for honeymoon, anniversary or luxury family break. Cannot wait to return!

Rooms are huge, with comfortable bed and very large bathroom. Two showers, one inside and one outside (nice to shower under the stars), two sinks with lots of countertop space. Each room has a patio with furniture to enjoy sitting outside. It was very quiet at night (quiet during the day as well). We never heard our neighbors. The included breakfast is good, with lots of choices, as well as your choice of eggs if you don't want scrambled. You can also get a box lunch if you prefer (or for an extra charge if you want both breakfast and box lunch). On site restaurant is good for dinner, but there is also a shuttle to town (5 minute drive) that can be used to eat in San Pedro.

Excellent choice. Beautiful property, very comfortable rooms, comfortable beds, bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower and a beautiful patio to enjoy. Very good breakfast and the restaurant is an excellent option for dinner. The staff is very friendly and attentive to all our requirements. Highly recommended.

We loved the Kunza rooms spread in extensive beautiful grounds outside town reachable by the frequent hotel transfer or by renting a bike. Well kept gardens , beautiful spa and pools Large rooms , bathrooms with extra outdoor shower. Staff is very helpful and kind especially of the Excursions office , unfortunately not to be compared with the restaurant or bar staff which shows un professional and un motivated making the service poor and slow reason to decide eating in the many restaurants available in town. You will most probably struggle with working using a very unstable and weak wifi connection which is only available in the lobby restaurant area. same goes for the cabled internet in the rooms. Our A/C as well in other rooms did not work at all , same for the Tv by reporting the above to the Kunza manager on duty nothing was done as far as reviewing the final bill and expenses upon check out ... I would rate thie Kunza a good 4 stars because the lack of service , quality of food etc. Long is the way to the 5Th star there for price should be adjusted.

Very clean. Comfortable beds and clean bedsheets. The room was cleaned everyday. For breakfast fresh juices. In the kitchen was prepared potable water. We could use the kitchen 24/7.

Breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. No problems with security. No off-street parking but that was not a problem Location was great, near the Copec garage and the San Pedro de Atacama bypass. This is San Pedro so do not expect the same level of luxuries as a 5 star establishment. We went into a so-called 5 star hotel with a room rate of USD600/night but since one is travelling all day why would one want to pay more that USD90/day. For foreign visitors be aware if you pay by credit card or pay in CLP you will be charged the 19% VAT. If you pay cash in USD and present a passport your stay is tax exempt. There is no aircon but there is a ceiling fan so summers may be hot. It would have been nice if there was a kettle in the room to make coffee.

Yakana Hotel was clean and comfortable. We loved our stay here, the staff was very friendly and free breakfast was offered every morning! We will definitely be staying here again.

Very nice and clean place, the rooms were nice and the staff super helpful with everything. The location was perfect, close to the bus station and a walk distance from the center.
