Location close to town. Beautiful gardens. Peaceful and relaxing the private pool and jacuzzi were well maintained and beautifully clean. All staff very helpful

I was lucky to stay in the Burway suite (room 20) which is a double room with it's own 10ft swimming pool and jacuzzi! This feature made the stay such an epic experience! This room also had a changing room area and showers! Also had access out into the clock tower courtyard to look at the nights sky! Netley Hall is a gorgeous mansion house, set in lovely grounds to walk around, the lakes were beautiful! The whole location is peaceful and quiet! Breakfast and dinner were tasty too! We drove into Shrewsbury to experience the historical town and lovely places to eat out! I would definitely book here again, I'm going to keep an eye out for any availability for the same suite... as the luxury of having your own pool to use at any hour was an experience I'd want to have again!

The cottage, where we stayed was lovely, very spacious, well equipped. Great powerful shower, very thick cotton towels, nice beds and clean. The breakfast was superb, a lot of different choices, everything was nicely cooked, with fresh fruit, different types of milk, fresh 100% juices (well-done for not diluting juices with water!) The garden and the lake were amazing, we had a great walk. The trees, bushes and shrubs were so magnificent, especially the flowering rhododendron, I have never seen a nicer bush in my life, therefore I will always associate The Netley Hall with beautifully flowering rhododendron! The staff, especially the receptionist (a lady with horses, Anne-Marie might be her name) were so friendly, helpful and polite, ready to help at any point. The tall chap at breakfast was very kind as well, giving me choices when I said that I was gluten intolerant. Netley hall is a beautiful place with beautiful staff and delicious breakfast!

Netley Hall is a beautiful old country house with gorgeous views in a tranquil location, close enough to Shrewsbury for convenience and far enough for peace and quiet. We stayed in a one bedroom bungalow which was spacious and clean. Full kitchen, comfortable lounge and bedroom, large bathroom with a corner bath. Breakfast is served in the main house, which is serve yourself full breakfast , very good quality with an assortment of cereals, pastries, yoghurt etc. perfect for starting the day. Spacious car parks and lovely gardens.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay! The location is perfect, the cabin was spotless and even though we booked the smallest one, the space had been used so well to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay, including a fully kitted out kitchenette. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly with a perfect balance of checking in to make sure we were happy and allowing us time to settle. We weren't sure what the weather would be like, so decided we would choose activities on the day, which was assisted by the pack of brochures and leaflets we found in the cabin on arrival. We ended up going for a walk down the country roads into a nearby village and had a drink and The Talbot Inn, where the landlady and bar staff were very friendly. Although we had a lovely quiet and peaceful stay, there is also an opportunity to meet new people and have a more social stay if you choose. There's a communal area that we would love to utilise when we return with some friends - the fire pit was lit during the early evening on Friday and fairy lights put on. After a friendly chat with one of the members of staff, we found out that on Saturday nights, the owner lights a small bonfire in the quarry towards the outskirts of the grounds and everyone is invited to come together. A wonderful stay, we can't wait to come back!

We enter a coded gate and was absolutely blown away before we had even found our lodge. The grounds are amazing,Clean,wildlife ,feeding the ducks especially Snowy Paddle boarding etc on the River Perry,so much to see and explore. Staff - sorry we cannot remember names because everyone was so friendly and helpful, we were greeted when we arrived and shown by a lovely lady how to work the hot tub,members of staff throughout our stay asked if we were OK or acknowledged us with a friendly smile or wave,the owner came and checked if we were OK which was so kind and today a lovely lady came to say goodbye . Lodge Gloria WOW!!!!! Outside we had our own hot tub and seating area but more seating area with our own fire pit (all lodges have there own) you can purchase fire wood for £5 which we did and toasted marshmallows enjoying the piece and quite and the beautiful surroundings heaven!! Inside - The heat hit you which was bonus the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were lovely beds comfortable, showers hot,all mod cons in the kitchen and tea,coffee,sugar was a nice little extra so kind Beautiful breakfast bar and also a good size table and chairs to sit and eat.The pictures on the website are beautiful but you will be blown away . Thankyou Riverside for making us feel so welcome and we certainly will be returning back ,Storm has loved her little adventure and didn't want to come home.

Amazing stay, cabins are cute and cosy. Was worried they may be cold as it’s February but the underfloor heating keeps it very toasty. We stayed in Doris along the river front with a hot tub. Although the hot tub on first impression looked quite exposed to the main pathways - once it gets dark it really does feel private. Location was amazing with lots of lovely country walks nearby. Recommend the Cross Keys pub and New Inn pubs nearby for food - delicious. Staff and the owner were very friendly. View from the cabins are lovely and peaceful. We stayed as a couple but this would also be a great place with kids (in one of the larger cabins)

The location is stunning and accommodation was lovely especially the hot tub and the bed, it was super soft and comfy. There are areas to go and chill and have a walk around and the owners clearly care about the place as it's very well maintained and filled with thoughtful touches everywhere. Shout out to Rufus who built a fire for us in the fire pit, he was very helpful and you could tell he loved his job. There was plenty of coffee, milk and an air fryer which was handy. The shower was lovely and relaxing as was sitting on the decking by the river - a wonderful, relaxing stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and comfortable. It is situated in beautiful tranquil countryside. Our cabin was right on the river and we had a family of ducks that would visit a few times a day. The hot tub was so relaxing and clean and kept at a lovely warm temperature through our whole stay. The cabin was very clean with everything we needed for our stay. Can't wait to go again.

The Accommodation was excellent, clean modern. Loved the jacuzzi, private. The host Ruth was very informative from start of booking to us leaving.

Must admit, we were a little unsure about staying in a caravan, but needn't have been! Ruth met us on arrival, showed us the accommodation and how to use the hot tub and then left us to enjoy. The caravan was spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, cooker, toaster and a wonderful retro style microwave. Clean bedding, plenty of towels, good quality TV and even games to keep us amused. Free good speed WiFi. The shower was surprisingly powerful. A top quality hot tub, again spotlessly clean, set in a secluded area of garden with a BBQ nearby. The location is perfect for a quiet stay, but just 15 minutes from the wonderful historic city of Shrewsbury. We don't hesitate in recommending Ruth's Rest and will be back as soon as time allows!

Loved every minute of our 2 night stay. The van was lovely and modern, very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing, positioned perfectly so it was very private and peaceful, the views were gorgeous and if you're lucky with the weather, as we were, the sun shines down on it all afternoon, The sunset in the evening was beautiful. Ruth was really nice, friendly and helpful, talked us through the rules for the hot tub and caravan. Stick to them and you won't have any problems, that's what they are there for. Fabulous little place, only 20 minutes from Shrewsbury town centre. We will definitely return. Thank you Ruth for a wonderful stay. 😊

Very nice and clean. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Despite the fact the holiday home was right next to the house, we didn't feel like we were being watched. The hosts were very friendly and polite as were their dogs. The hot tub was spotless and worked wonders to help in the relaxation. Only 15-20.minute drive from Shrewsbury but still peaceful and quiet away from the city hubub. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We loved everything about the property, it was clean, tidy, the kitchen had absolutely everything needed for our stay. Bed was cosy, cabin had heating throughout. Everything was set out great, such a homely feel! The jacuzzi was the icing on the cake. The surrounding area was beautiful. Will definitely be coming back for another weekend away we loved it that much.

Although this review is a little delayed (life got busy!), I wanted to take the time to share what a lovely experience we had at Eastridge Glamping. It was the perfect private break, peaceful, beautifully set and ideal for a romantic getaway. The accommodation was clean and cozy, and we especially loved having our own private hot tub to relax in. It really added a special touch to the stay. The surroundings are tranquil, and we even enjoyed seeing the sheep along the drive, such a charming countryside detail! Customer service was excellent from start to finish. Communication with Deb was smooth, friendly, and helpful, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we were really happy with our stay and are already hoping to return again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape and unwind.

Just had the loveliest weekend escape in this gorgeous glamping pod! Nestled in peaceful surroundings, it was the perfect blend of cozy and stylish—ideal for small groups of friends, a romantic date night, or even a solo retreat to unwind. The space was beautifully maintained and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Debs was absolutely wonderful with communication—friendly, responsive, and super helpful throughout. You can really tell she puts thought into making guests feel welcome. Whether you're after a chilled-out getaway or something a little special, this place ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend!

Debs was a brilliant host, keeping us updated before we arrived and after. The hot tub is a real treat with beautiful views and privately enclosed without blocking the view. The location is lovely and isolated which is just what we were looking for, but five mins walk down the road was a quaint friendly pub with good food and company. The accommodation was perfect for our needs, with oven and hob for cooking and a communal BBQ area which we would have used if the weather was nicer. Everything was clean and we'll equipped. Will definitely be back.

I rarely use the word 'exceptional' in a review but the Ugly Duckling north of Telford deserves that accolade for both the rooms and again for the restaurant. Google earth shows a picture (2014) of a derelict and run down old pub and somewhere since then it has been transformed. Modern tasteful décor in the rooms, comfortable bed, strong Wi-Fi, effective shower and all facilities you would expect. The food selections for both dinner and breakfast were ample and the quality very high. All staff were extremely pleasant and very professional at their jobs. No real problems at all although some late departing guests were a little loud on the Saturday. Very handy for all the local Shropshire tourist features such as Ironbridge and the Wrekin. An exceptional experience is the appropriate description.

Stayed one night with my daughter,our room was clean with comfortable bed and pillows. Was a twin but beds were pushed together, you could move them but would have had to moved bedside tables, wasn't an issue for us to leave beds as they were. Decor was nice. We ate dinner in the restaurant and both enjoyed our meals, it wasn't too busy in the restaurant and we were served by a very nice young waitress. Breakfast - both had pancakes which were really nice and very filling! There were plenty of choices for breakfast. There is a nice large outside seating area, nice comfortable, garden furniture. Our room was above the seating area but we didn't have any noise issues later in the evening. Staff overall were friendly.

Lovely quiet room with spa bathtub and good shower. Attentive and kind staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and more than I could finish. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed.

The location was beautiful. The beer garden was amazing we sat out and could completely relax. The staff were all lovely and polite and did everything we asked from them with a smile. The pub was beautifully decorated and it had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The room a little on the small size but absolutely not a problem. We went on an extremely hot weekend and the room did get very hot but a fan was provided. The bed was comfy and the pillows perfect. Beautifully clean and well maintained The breakfast was amazing!!! Unfortunately we arrived on the hottest day of July, with 40 degrees, but we couldn’t have a better welcome by Ruth! You can ask her anything, nothing is too much for her to make you feel at home (which we did 😊) The accommodation was spotless and well equipped, the jacuzzi outside was outstanding and the view outside impeccable. Don’t get me started about the sunset on the hills and country, we fell in love with Shropshire and especially Shrewsbury (really nearby) so we are definitely coming back here! PS Don't forget to visit Shrewsbury and its Market Hall, it really is an experience, and Romy Design on the 1st floor makes unique drawings and souvenirs about this area.

The warm friendly welcome on our arrival from Louise was a great start. The whole place from curb appeal to interior and our room was well maintained, spotlessly clean and has a cosy homely feel. Delicious freshly baked cake was an absolute bonus. Breakfast options were plentyful and all dietary requirements catered for. Breakfast was prepared fresh individually each morning with quality ingredients sourced locally by Louise and Peter. A cosy home from home stay well situated within easy walking distance from the beautiful town centre.

Louise was very welcoming. The room was nicely decorated and cosy. The room was very clean and the beds were comfy. There was a wide selection of hot drinks in the room and the toiletries smelt lovely. Breakfast as delicious and the menu was extensive. My son enjoyed the pancakes and I enjoyed the avocado on toast. I was disappointed that I didn't have enough room for Louise's fresh baked vanilla sponge, it looked delicious.

Easy walk from all of Shrewsbury's restaurants and attractions. Lovely communication from Louise before my stay and delicious homemade cake was really appreciated after a long journey when I arrived! The room was clean and had everything you would need including a smart TV and comfortable easy chair. Peaceful comfortable nights sleep. Really tasty cooked breakfast with lots of vegetarian options.

Our stay was really great. Louise was a really good host; very welcoming and went out of her way to make you feel comfortable and spoilt. The breakfast was delicious, cooked to perfection with quality produce. There was homemade coffee cake, cold bottled water and nice biscuits offered as well as a bottle of Prosecco as I mentioned it was my birthday 😊, how kind is that! The shower was brilliant, proper power shower and all the organic toiletries too. The guest house is a quick walk into Shrewsbury town so ideal location. I would highly recommend a stay at Anton Guest House.

Stay at this venue for work every year. Located in lovely tiny village in a welcoming cosy village pub with a few rooms above. The rooms are quiet, modern, well equipped, clean and cosy. Nice walks nearby. Pub restaurant offers a good variety of exceptional food, is often busy, and a nice cooked breakfast. Staff all very friendly. Highly recommend.

The huntsman is beautifully maintained in a fabulous setting . Very well cared for inside. Restaurant and bar very clean and cosy. Our room was very clean , quiet and comfortable. All staff were friendly and very helpful. Excellent service at all times . Ideal location for visiting local areas.

The Huntsman is lovely! A gorgeous comfy room upstairs with a juliet balcony and good views. Very quiet, very clean, a powerful shower and a lovely 'tea tray' too. Breakfast is ordered the night before and was great. We also had a sunday lunch whilst there (obviously not included in the price) it was reasonably priced and very tasty. Staff were very friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble

What a lovely find, it was in a beautiful location and a lovely place to stay, the staff were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival. The room was spacious, very clean and very quiet. Excellent bar and restaurant staff, menu was excellent and the food was exceptional. We would like to pass on our thanks and praise to all at The Huntsman who made our stay there a pleasure and we will be sure to visit again.

The whole hotel is very nicely decorated and very clean. The room was well laid out. Two comfy twin beds, tea/coffee facilities, and a nice bathroom with lovely toiletries. The room was spotless and as it was at the end of the hallway was also very quiet. There was a bottle of water by the bed which was a nice touch. The honesty bar is a really lovely idea, and it was nice to sit with other guests when we came in. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of options including gluten free. The breakfast room is light and airy, a very enjoyable atmosphere. The staff throughout our stay were friendly, helpful and very pleasant.

From arrival to departure, all the staff I encountered, were helpful, informative and attentive. The location is deal within the the town and the accommodation was clean, well maintained. Breakfast was lovely and our thanks to Tracy for her cheerful professional service to the chef who provided a superb tasty breakfast, full of flavour and delicious. A good way to start the day

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. Check-in was easy and given plenty of information for our stay. The bedroom was beautiful and very comfortable. They thought of everything. The bed was super comfy. The fan in the room was very welcome as it was a very warm weekend indeed. Breakfast, wow, there was so much on offer, from cereal to pastries, yoghurt to fruit, juices, and, of course, your cooked breakfasts along with a vast selection of hot drinks The main guest house was beautifully decorated with a room where an honesty bar was with a huge range and a very well stocked bar. It is a fantastic touch for those wanting to have a drink in the garden of an afternoon or a tipple before bedtime. I've never seen one done before, but it worked really well. Close to the river, walk into town close by to plenty of shops, cafes, and pubs and restaurants too. The best car park is St Julians Friars car park. Literally 2 minute walk to accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble for this brilliantly run family Boutique Hotel. Staff all friendly, helpfull and smiley. Thank you so much, and I am looking forward to coming back with my husband at some point

Absolutely wonderful place - I'd highly recommend staying here! The atmosphere is relaxed, the staf really friendly and helpful, the bed super comfortable with little touches like a flask of water in the room as well as the usual tea/coffee, biscuits etc. The highlight for me was the breakfast which was FABULOUS and included options for gluten-free/wheat-free/vegan etc, they seem to have thought of everything! Nothing was too much trouble either - they were happy for us to have a slightly later breakfast as we did the parkrun! The other thing is the hotel is bang in the centre of town but down a side alleyway so it's very quiet (we had a room overlooking the garden in the modern building behind) and there's parking, which is another huge plus!

Such a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. From the moment we arrived the staff were lovely and helpful. The whole place was decorated with the Darwin theme in mind and it was all absolutely beautifully done. The facilities in the rooms were superb, well stocked tea/coffee facilities with an array of teas/coffees. Biscuits, mints, dressing robes, quality toiletries, hairdryer, iron. Plenty of hanging space and drawers. Lovely comfortable bed and everywhere was impeccably clean. We loved the lounge areas and honesty bar. The dining room is stunning, the garden too. Breakfast had a great choice of cooked food, all cooked to order. An array of cereals, breads, preserves, fruit, yogurt . Again the staff were so lovely and took a genuine interest in the guests and engaged, I would definitely stay again.

The food was just stunning, absolutely gorgeous. We had a main evening meal and breakfast, both were fabulous. The room was very comfortable, we were offered a free upgrade but chose not to take it as we wanted to remain on the ground floor and were still very happy with the accommodation. Gorgeous views, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. All very clean and with kettle, iron etc in room. Staff throughout the visit were friendly and very welcoming. I have food allergies and these were dealt with great and remembered so I only had to mention it once in the visit and I was sorted. Love this place!

Building and decor was stunning. Good parking available at the rear. Very good menu for breakfast and dinner. All the staff were attentive and very friendly given that they were rushed off their feet in the afternoon and evenings due volume of customers. They were brilliant. The deluxe twin room we booked is detached from the main building and therefore a lot quieter and has good private access. Beds were clean and comfortable and plenty of toiletries available in the spacious bathroom. Iron, board and hairdryer provided as well as good selection of tea/coffee etc. Reasonable amount of storage. The room has wide doorways and the bathroom has excellent facilities available to guests with mobility and assistance needs.

Our room was fabulous. Spotlessly clean, with all the amenities you would expect, and need, Plus a few more extras. Staff, in every department I thought were above and beyond. Elliott was so helpful each day, and Martin did us proud on the car park. But every team member really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent. Great choice and quality always very good. Evening meals in the restaurant equalled breakfast in all aspects. Will definitely be going back at some point, the next time we are in the area. Would highly recommend both the hotel, and the restaurant. The bar is outstanding on what it has to offer.

Fantastic 2 night stay! Weather great, location right on the river, so lovely. Room spacious and comfy too, thankfully a fan made it better as it was a warm few days. Lots of places to eat, we choose the Terrace. Great selection of food, dinner and breakfast really nice and tasty. We went into Shrewsbury, not too far, lovely town, lots of interesting buildings and history. Took the boat trip on the Severn which was very good and informative. Last but certainly not least, the fantastic team at the Hotel, very accommodating and friendly, they are a credit to this lovely place.

Check in was really smooth, although we couldn’t check in until 3pm without paying extra for early check in, we were still able to check in and just get our keys so we could then leave the hotel and come back at any time after check in time. For us we had a wedding so we didn’t come back until 12am and it was all easily accessible. Breakfast was delicious too with lots of choice from a menu served to your table. The views outside were gorgeous, on a river which you can sit right next to if you like. The rooms were spotless clean we were upgraded to a suite which was Devine. My sister had a king which looked lovely but very small and difficult to move around

What a find, we had a fabulous stay at The Fox with our dog Barney. The Fox is the most dog friendly place that we have stayed at. Liz and Olivia were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, with a full cooked breakfast on offer every day along with cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Barney was even offered a sausage for breakfast everyday, which he loved. The breakfast was well cooked with good quality ingredients, we especially loved the thick bacon and black pudding. We also ate in the pub one evening, again the food and service were excellent. Our room was spacious, modern and well equipped with everything we could need including iron and ironing board. Shower was very good, powerful and hot. Wi-Fi is also provided in the room. Much Wenlock is a lovely little town, with plenty of walks locally. Wenlock Priory is lovely to visit and is only a 5 minute walk away. The locals that we met were all very friendly. Great pies and cakes from Pig & Pie in town. If you fancy travelling further afield there are plenty of places to visit, we would highly recommend Shrewsbury Prison Tour. We would highly recommend a stay at The Fox and we look forward to staying there again soon.

Outstanding, this extremely warm friendly inn is family friendly on all accounts. The accommodation is perfect, clean and cosy. Situated in a beautiful village location packed with history, with beautiful Tudor buildings, dating between 14th century to 16th century. The staff owners at The Fox made our 13 year old birthday breakfast one to remember, with nothing being too much for them. To the evening meal and cook breakfast delicious. Dog friendly, children friendly and brilliant for us adults too. A great bass to visit Blists Hill Victorian town, and Shrewsbury prison, both being Dog friendly and a perfect Family day out.

Even before we arrived, the staff at the Fox were extremely helpful. When we did eventually arrive they couldn't be more helpful. Our room was incredible spacious, quiet, the bed super comfy. Wifi excellent! (Important when there is very little reception in the area). We had a meal when we arrives which was fantastic and exceptional value for money. The staff were just brilliant. They could not do enough for us. Breakfast was also excellent, wide choice of cereal and cooked breakfast items. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options too. We were staying at The Fox, as we were attending a wedding in a neighbouring village, it's worth noting that there are No cabs firms that are willing to cover Much Wenlock..... we were having trouble finding anyone to take us / pick us up but again, the staff were so caring and helpful. They spent a lot of time trying to help us, and gave us all possible options, called people to help. We eventually secured a cab, thanks to the wonderful staff at the pub.

The breakfast was Amazing, i have stayed in quite a few hotels some even 5* and have never experienced a breakfast as Good as this. I think the offer of Fresh Fruit & Yogurt to start made it for me. I have been in hotels where they offer Fresh Fruit But this was like it had just been picked that morning. The Cooked breakfast was also perfection. Excellent well done. Wish we had the chance to eat in the Restaurant judging by the standard of their Breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were Very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Spacious, clean and tidy room with a very comfortable bed and en suite bathroom. Breakfast was amazing, kept us going all day. (I even ate the delicious black pudding cos I'm a northerner!) £10 evening meal and drink deal was great value. £20 to feed us both, it cost just over £10 for our drinks at the bar, so we were fed for under £5 each! Fantastic location. Owners and staff are really friendly, attentive and courteous. We even enjoyed meeting Rodger the eccentric painter/folk singer/poet/landscape gardener/assassin at the bar. Nothing negative to say about the fox. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in room 1, which overlooked the garden and the river. Exceptional setting. The room was spacious with a small table and 2 chairs in the window to take full advantage of the view. There was also a comfy settee. There was a kettle and all the materials for making tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The king size bed was very comfortable. We had an outstanding dinner in the evening ( booked separately) and the breakfast in the the morning had a varied choice and was of high quality. Good range of draught beers and wines available in the bar. Ideal place to stay for Wroxeter Roman ruins, wroxeter vineyard, Shrewsbury and various other attractions. Friendly, efficient and helpful staff.

A very warm welcome as soon as we walked in. all the staff were amazing, each and every one staff member. from breakfast to dinner in the evening. Check in was easy and everything explained. The room we had (room 1) was excellent in size,, comfort and style. a beautiful Rover Room view. Bed was comfy and large, pillows a little too flat but 2 were too much, so personal preference there. The pub itself, was very welcoming, comfy and such a good space for dining whether its breakfast lunch or dinner. spoilt for a good view for sure. Specials board and a great menu to choose from with plenty of choice. A great choice of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Can't really fault our stay at all, great venue to celebrate my Husbands 50th birthday. Nice relaxation amd chill time. Thank you, I know we will be back to visit. All the best. xx

Particularly attractive setting for a beautifully and tastefully refurbished hotel. The accommodation was spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. The king size bed and luxurious bed linen ensured a very comfortable night’s sleep, and the full English breakfast was top class. The staff were welcoming, attentive and very efficient. Specialist mention is made of our breakfast waitress, Lesley, who was outstanding in looking after us, and a joy to engage with.

A lovely, quiet location. The room was very cosy, with a spacious bathroom and very comfortable bed. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and they made an effort to seat us in the conservatory with amazing views of the scenery.

From the minute we walked in the door the welcome and attention we received was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was overlooking the river and was absolutely beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Both bedroom and bathroom spotlessly clean. The view was exceptional..we had a meal and again was first class. I had cod and chips and my husband the pie and chips and all was scrumptious..the breakfast was also first class and cooked to order so nice and fresh. Very very impressed with the decor, ambience and staff and will definitely return.

The hotel was wonderful, it had a lovely feel to it, very welcoming. The staff were excellent, very helpful and accommodating, despite all my different requests! Excellent food. Breakfast was delicious, well cooked and there was plenty of it. We also had an assortment of 'snacks' for our evening meal, again, very fresh and tasty. The room was superb, spacious, light and airy, just the right temperature too. It was surprisingly cosy for its size. Very comfortable. The hotel was easy to find, had lovely grounds and lots of period features.

All the staff we encountered (6 of them) were genuinely friendly and attentive. All of them spoke to us before we spoke. They all appeared happy in their work. We had breakfast and it was so organised, we had coffee, tea and juice straight away, we then ordered what we wanted. The quality of the food was really good, professionally presented, even my croissant had been warmed in a proper oven, not put in a microwave! The dining room was lovely and the fixtures and fittings suited the building. Staff looked clean, well presented and organised. They worked at a speed needed for their environment. The hotel was full so the small team needed to work fast and efficiently. Our room was very cosy and the bed comfortable and we both slept well. The bathroom was dated but it was very clean. We would happily stay here again.

We loved our stay here. We felt welcomed, valued as residents and extremely relaxed. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast on all three mornings was really good. Big portions , hot and again all our requests were met with no problem. A good small bar, beautiful outside space and lots of comfy areas to sit and relax. Our room was cosy and comfortable albeit a little tired in decor but we had all the facilities we needed and had an extremely good nights sleep every night. We wanted to stay longer but the hotel had no vacancies unfortunately. We hope to be back again in the future.

We had an amazing stay at The Old rectory. The staff were so friendly on arrival. I had to leave for a meet up before breakfast was due to start, and so they made me a breakfast sandwich to take with me so that I didn't miss out. It was really exceptional service. The bedroom was cosy and was perfect for our needs. The only downside was that the floorboards creaked loudly whenever we walked around the room, and the bathroom/shower could do with updating. Otherwise I would highly recommend the old rectory for anyone staying in Wem.

The location is perfect. The secluded gardens are immaculately kept and beautifully landscaped. The hotel is charming and our room was spacious, elegant & perfectly appointed. Likewise, all public areas are elegant and maintained to a very high standard. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. All in all, we felt that this hotel deserved a much higher rating than its current 3 stars (which is due, we understand, to its not having a lift or 24 hour room service). We personally felt it deserves a minimum of 4 stars. Would highly recommend!

Easy access using the key safe with great communication. The room had a double bed and a single bed, perfectly clean, modern and comfortable. The building retains the old charm, with the modern retro-fitted rooms inside. The Coaching Barns is motel-style with parking at the front doors of the rooms and is behind a pub. The night we spent there was very quiet. A small fold-up table and chairs was provided, along with cutlery and crockery, so we were able to make ourselves breakfast from supermarket provisions. This accommodation is very good value.

The room was perfect - very clean and modern with all the little touches that make a big difference - from biscuits and toiletries to hooks and shelves in all the right places! We were only passing through but would definitely stay again. The folder of menus for local restaurants was so useful for dinner and the fridge and crockery made getting a quick breakfast very easy.

The room was very comfortable and had good amenities such as tea/coffee making facilities. The towels were luxurious and of good quality. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Bathroom had good selection of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. A good walk in shower with good water pressure. The location was very good as you were in the centre of town and a short walk to the train station or bus stop.

The Coaching Barn we stayed in was absolutely lovely. The key safe was easy to find and access. When we opened the door we were wow'd by what we saw. Very clean and tidy entrance, bathroom and bedroom. The pictures do not do it justice. The TV provided was perfectly positioned for watching it in bed. You are provided with tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits by a kettle. The plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery were very convenient. We even had a mini fridge and table with 2 chairs! The bed was extremely comfortable with the nicest pillows I think I've ever slept on. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely be recommending to family and friends. Excellent value for money too and we loved that we had our own front door to lock behind us. Like a little home from home. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Really good location, right in the centre but out of the way enough to be quiet at night. The staff were smart, attentive and friendly at all times. We were upgraded from the basement room without charge which was nice. Breakfast menu covered all the basics including kippers, and items could be substituted in or out as per request. We particularly enjoyed the mushrooms which were lovely and fresh. The room was neat and clean with everything as advertised, hairdryer, kettle etc. Zero need for anxiety over the double parking spaces as you just leave your key and the owners juggle the cars themselves while you're out, but do give you a courtesy phonecall before doing so. One real treat is the relaxed timings on arrival, departure and breakfast, with a later breakfast allowing a lie in on a Saturday morning!

Perfect location just next to the river in a quiet location. However, just a few steps away and you are at the start of Wyle Cop which is an uninterrupted stretch of fabulous independent shops. Then on to the quirky streets of this beautiful medieval town and Britain’s favourite market to boot. The hotel is well decorated, comfortable, cosy and clean. It is run by 3 generations of the same family who are an absolute delight. Honestly, I don’t think you’d find friendlier hosts anywhere. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, bespoke and the ingredients are of excellent quality. You even have the benefit of free parking which is a major plus in Shrewsbury. Just perfect for a break away in this beautiful town and such good value. 5 stars from me!!

We have stayed at Abbots Mead on a number of occasions. We have already booked for another stay in September. Great location. Friendly staff, exceptional breakfast. At our recent visit, it was getting a make over. So it looked clean and fresh. Parking for 10 cars, not ample, but just enough for guests. Comfortable rooms, perfect for a wkend break. Within walking distance of bars, shops etc... and even walks along the River Seven.

Very convenient to centre of town. Having a parking space was a bonus. All staff were extremely friendly from checking in to breakfast in the morning. Room was clean, warm and cosy. Shower was lovely and hot The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had an excellent range of produce. Thank you Abbots Mead for making my stay extremely enjoyable.

Fabulous location, near the river and an easy walk to town. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable , tidy rooms. Excellent breakfast, very obliging and definitely, service with a smile. Reasonable bar prices with a small but comfortable lounge area. Lots of eating places nearby. Easy walk to town, theatre, railway station etc. Perfect!

The Lion and pheasant is my Hotel of choice when vising family in Shrewsbury. The rooms are individual with super comfy beds, linen and pillows. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the excellent tapas bar Ernest & co, would advise booking as it has always been full when we have been there. Food and wine are excellent. We enjoyed our breakfast in the main restaurant, there was a good choice of continental and very good choice of top quality cooked items. My son had the full English which was perfect, sometimes I think this can be too generous and off putting but this was perfect with high quality ingredients. I had the eggs Benedict which was equally delicious. Service was top notch.

Location great - close to shops wine bars and nice restaurants . Also 5 mins to lovely walk or run along the river side which has great views . We had apartment - the stables which was huge and immaculately clean with great kitchen , dining and seating area which was nice to relax in after day sightseeing . Staff couldn’t do enough - didn’t eat in restaurant but bar staff very helpful and reception staff couldn’t do enough for us and always very friendly

This is a superb little hotel in a town centre location next to the river. I had booked a basic room which was cosy and had everything I needed. Very comfortable bed with good quality linen, duvet and pillows. I was very comfortable indeed. There was also a dressing table/desk. The bathroom and all plumbing worked very well. I was very impressed with this hotel. The restaurant was exceptional. A friend joined me for dinner and we both enjoyed our food enormously. They have a very talented chef. Breakfast was also of a very high standard with a very wide selection on offer. I will be going back and would highly recommend.

Fabulous central location. We stayed in the stables which was perfect for my Mother and I. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and good pillows, quilts and towels. Loved the upside down aspect. Both tapas bar and main restaurant were extremely good, tapas bar probably got my vote as it was less formal. Didn't have breakfast as we got some baked goods from the bakers across the road. We will definitely return.

Staff were really friendly and helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice, was delicious and presented really well. I stayed in the studio apartment which was really comfy and spacious.

Lovely room, 4 poster bed, jacuzzi bath, Lovely toiletries, and all amenities, dressing gowns and slippers. Water, teas, coffee etc with nibbles in the room. Staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast amazing, all freshly cooked and plenty of variety, we would definitely stay again

Absolutely gorgeous room (#5) with 4-poster bed and jacuzzi bath (not that we used that feature). Good breakfast hamper (and fridge with milk and orange juice was a nice touch). The food in the restaurant was absolutely outstanding, all prepared by one chef. Stunning sea bass with potatoes dauphinoise and delicious chicken in panko breadcrumbs. Really well placed as a stopover en route between London and North Wales. It really deserves to prosper!

We arrived late in the evening as we booked a room in this listed building to break up our journey, travelling up from London on a Friday evening. The room was lovely, the staff were very helpful, and the complimentary continental breakfast was lovely. The room even had it's own fridge with fresh milk, orange juice and yogurt. Next time we plan to arrive earlier so we can have some food and a drink...and my partner can make use of the jacuzzi bath!

The hotel was easy to find with a spacious car park. Checking in was simple.The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. The room was very neat and tidy with just the right amount of personal touches without going over the top. The choice of beverages was more than adequate. The bed was very comfortable and there was only the occasional bit of road noise, but as we live in a rural area we always tend to notice this. The bar was welcoming and the local ale had a good flavour. We ate in the restaurant which had a varied menu. The food was well cooked and very tasty. The portion size was good. The wine list was also varied and our choice met all expectations. The breakfast again was tasty and also a good portion. The teapot didn't haven't an annoying drip, more common than you would think, and there was also a choice of continental and cold breakfast choices. Would we use the hotel again? Definitely yes, it is ideally placed for local attractions which was our reason for choosing the hotel in the first place.
