Great location and easy to walk to the nearby hotel for a drink and supper or into town. Our bed was comfy and there was a very well equipped kitchenette. Great jacuzzi round bath to laze in. Book a lake view room if you can.

Everything about this motor lodge was exceptional. The safe were very friendly and nothing was a problem. The units were beautifully clean, with heat pumps, the view of the lake was gorgeous, and the in room spas were very relaxing. The units are lovely and quiet and the big king size bed was lovely a comfy.

This was a stunning accommodation! Friendly staff (not so friendly doggy, cute, but not so friendly). The location was good; easy to access the lake as well as the town centre. The facilities were immaculate. The bed was comfy. The spa bath was a bonus to the vibe of the stay. The view from our room was beautiful (except when watching the New Years Eve fireworks, they were obstructed by the accommodation to the right). The access to the lake from the back of the accommodation was convenient. Plenty of towels and could access beach towels from the reception. The area was quiet.

Everything I needed for my stay in Taupo to explore the various attractions in the area. Lots of good DVDs and books in lounge area. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking and walking to stores, restaurants and Saturday Farmers’ Market.

A last minute booking for our family of four and this accommodation was a very pleasant and welcome surprise. From check-in to check-out our experience was seamless. Room was modern, very clean, spacious, and with its own private garden area. Location is superb, only a few minutes walk to the lake. Staff were friendly, super helpful and welcoming at all times. Great family venue. We will be back!

Staff were Soo friendly and helpful! The room was comfy and warm. The breakfast buffet was delicious and a real hit with the kids.

The beds here were very comfortable and the room was reasonably spacious. The breakfast was very nice and you had a choice of fruit, cereals and hot food. The lady who was taking care of everyone was lovely and she is a credit to the company. The hotel is very close to the main shopping area with the restaurants and bars. It is also a short walk to the lake where you can take a towel and have a swim. A very convenient location with lots to do around.

We were upgraded to a family unit after the cooktop didn't heat up in previous unit.The family unit was spacious,clean ,comfortable with adequate facilities.The bed was lovely and comfortable with an electric blanket if needed,and good bedside lighting.Excellent lighting throughout apartment.The shower worked well and there was a spa bath available.The large TV provided plenty of channels and free netflex was available.Beautiful views of Lake Taupo and other activities can be viewed from the large windows in the lounge when seated at the table or on one of the couches.Kitchen facilities all worked well.Oven,microwave,coffee maker and necessary crockery etc in the spacious cupboards.Heatpump also in lounge.

The apartment is amazing with an awesome view of the lake. The beds are very comfortable. The whole apartment was clean, tidy, and well appointed and a good size Short walking distance to city centre. Helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely be rebooking this apartment.

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms have recently been renovated - spotless, well presented, comfy bed, smart TV, well-equipped kitchenette. Perfect quiet location for exploring Rotorua and surrounding areas.

Very courteous host (Anthony). Very clean and spacious one bed upstairs apartment at back. Crisp comfortable decor. Much appreciated shampoo in bathroom. Plenty of towels and even face cloths. Actual mini-bars of soap instead of liquid shower dispenser. Good water pressure. TV easy to use - single remote. Heat pump worked. Extra blankets in room, thanks. More than enough bed pillows! Clean cutlery & crockery for breakfast. Did not cook in. Parking no problem, utes (out front) and SUVs (up the back, reverse park please).

The Colonial was a clean, comfortable and convenient motel in Taupo. Across the road from the lake and a short walk into the township it was pretty quiet even though it was on a main road. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the parking, not suitable for large vehicles. Good value for money.

The shower and bathroom facilities were exceptional. Overall, the standard of fixtures and fittings were exceptional, well-maintained, and the overall experience actually really impressive. Free wifi was fast - and maintained its high-speed even during evenings etc. And the motel is close to the town centre - which makes driving in an out very easy. Parking was right outside our room door. You can't ask for better than that!

Pleasant ground-floor 'studio' room - opening onto a small garden patio with table and chairs. Very clean room, kitchen area, and bathroom. And kept that way each day of our stay. Excellent TV and streaming capability/connectivity, with fast internet free wifi. Given all our other usual places we stay at in Taupo were price-gouging over the Xmas period, Chantillys seemed reasonably priced for what was on offer, And were we surprised! It was an amazing motel - easy, secure parking, quiet when you needed it to be quiet, and just what we were looking for as a 'base' for all our activities Lakeside (free diving) and the tennis courts at Acacia bay. I can't praise it enough. That little garden was a godsend for drying wet-suits, towels etc.

So fresh & clean. Plenty of space with own balcony with a lake view. Our spa bath in our unit was so relaxing & enjoyable. There was everything in this unit we needed & more. It was the Best motel we’ve ever stayed in!

I sometimes stay here overnight for work and it is one of the best and nicest places to stay in Taupo. It's within walking distance to the city centre (about 10min), roughly about the same to the lake side, the rooms are very nice, comfortable and clean, and, most of all, the host is absolutely amazing. Absolute great communication and very friendly and accommodating. This place will always be my go-to whether for work or leisure.

Our family of 4 adults enjoyed our week long stay here over Christmas in a standard apartment. The apartment was adequate for our needs although small for a week long stay. We enjoyed the upstairs outdoor area off the main bedroom although it was in need of a clean as there was green mould growing over the tiles making them slippery although this was easy for us to clean with a few rags. The swimming pool was small but functional, deep and clean. The staff were always happy and friendly,they brought clean supplies including fresh towels daily. Car parking for one car was available immediately outside the unit and additional cars need to be parked on the road. Despite being so close to the lake this place was very quiet which is a great asset. The only complaint was the lack of air con upstairs, the main bedroom got very hot and muggy making it impossible to sleep. It didn’t help that the under blanket on the bed was nylon. In hind sight I wish I had asked for a cotton under blanket, perhaps this could be considered.

The Voyager Apts are located only about 1.5 km from central Taupo. They include a well appointed kitchen and roomy bedroom and a spa bath. Parking is very convenient and the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. From Tui St it is only about 150m to the lake front where magnificent views of the Mountains were available

Quiet, clean, warm, comfortable. Tastefully decorated, good ambience. Heat pump on both floors. Excellent lighting & water pressure. Double spa bath. Three doors from lakefront and magnificent shared walk/cycle path with uninterrupted view of the lake to the mountains. Easy, scenic walk to town and restaurants.

The unit was well designed, on a duplex basis. Downstairs had kitchen/diner, comfortable seating, and a shower room & lavatory. Upstairs was a comfortable bedroom with a large spa bath and lavatory in the adjacent bathroom. There as a sun balcony. This was the best equipped unit in which I have stayed - Fridge/freezer, dishwasher, waste disposal, roasting oven, microwave etc + a good wash/drier. Even the washing powder was included. Good range of Sky Channels on the TV

Absolutely perfect for a couple or family, quiet location but still very close to everything you could possibly need. We loved that there was a washing machine, spa and complimentary bath salts. Manager was very quick to respond via text when we had questions. Clean, comfortable and has all the amenities you need.

We booked a king bed lake view room. The room was spacious and tidy, with a small kitchenette. The room was very clean. The water pressure in the shower was very good. The view was amazing, we could open the curtains and watch the word go by while having our morning coffee. I would happily book and stay again. Just a couple of suggestions - there was only 1 bedside table so I had to put all my things on the ground by the bed. A second bedside table would’ve been handy. There is a window in the kitchen that doesn’t have a blind. While it was ok for us as the sun is rising later due to it being winter and we needed to be up early, I can imagine the room gets very bright in summer.

Location is terrific. Leave the car there and walk to town easily. Our room was basic, but roomy/spacious. Really clean! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the woman with a beaming smile and wasn’t put out in the slightest by our request to check in an hour earlier as we’d come from out of town. She was an absolute delight to be greeted by. During our two night stay, another guest next to us had made contact with my vehicle! Extremely disappointing, but the lovely man working the reception was most helpful in assisting with insurance details if I needed them. He also allowed me to park in his own car park when two other guests had impinged from both sides so I could get my vehicle into my allocated park. Jolly Good Fellows bar/pub/restaurant next door was SO handy and made it the best choice for a meal on our first night so we didn’t need to find somewhere in town. Also good to have a few drinks and walk across the carpark back home! Really great place to stay! So happy with comfy bed and great air con and lovely pillows and friendly helpful staff!

Good position across road from Lake, Parking is good, short flat walk to restaurants and town. Good communication before checking in, A restaurant/bar on site seems really busy so there if u need it, Room was clean and spacious i had a Spa Bath room, bath was great, shower had good water pressure. Only down point was thr blanket in bed (outside of bed) that needed to be cleaned, But apart from that great stay, lovely helpful reception lady.

I liked the whole layout of my room. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I liked that I could watch TV while lying in my bed and the free wifi was really good. This motel is ideally located next to a restaurant which serves awesome food. Just across the road in front of the motel is the lake which offers also spectacular views of the mountains at the southern end of the lake. It is also not far from the city center. The staff are very friendly.

My family and I had an extraordinary few days at Absolute. Gerard was an exceptional Kiwi host - relaxed, friendly and easy to connect with. He even surprisingly spoke with my wife fluently in Japanese. We were given great local advice on attractions and offered special deals through his connections. Our suite was superb – excellent shower pressure, sound-proofed, fantastic modern TV, comfortable beds, nothing missing or broken. Little traffic noise, convenient to town centre, facilities in top working order and pleasant outdoor surroundings. Pool and spa were clean and quite incredible! - no booking required for use. I’ve stayed at a lot of motels in Taupo over many years and will most definitely be making Absolute my go-to place to stay in future. Simply magical.

Had our work function there, busy on the Friday night but meals were served up fast, ice cold Tuatara Hazy IPA on tap was awesome! Great room with an ultra comfortable bed! Breakfast buffet was sensational, so fresh and tasty! Pool was awesome, parking real easy and rooms so clean!

We love staying here. Blackout curtains, comfortable beds we could sleep in as it was so peaceful. Squash court and tennis/basketball courts are great. The gym was very popular with my kids who love a good gym workout. Good selection of gym equipment. The heated pools and spas are wonderful and we felt they were nice & clean. On-site restaurant & bar is great with a good menu and is needed as the resort is out of Taupo. The units are set in a beautiful setting with the trees and birds and goldfish pond. The whole complex and gardens are looking great & well maintained. Great improvements! We have already booked again!

The public areas are very good, with lots of sporting amenities for families, and the staff are very friendly and professional. Location is excellent if you are happy to be out of town a bit - approx. 10 minute drive. But the rooms are a little dated and in serious need of a refresh (at least ours was). There was only 1 chair and 1 bedside table in our room and I think it's reasonable to expect an enclosed shower these days rather than one over the bath with a shower curtain. That said, shower had good pressure and the bed was large and comfortable. Probably a 6.5/10 overall

I found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room was upstairs and our view of the lake priceless. Situated in the right spot for all the magnificent views. Our room was nice and cozy. I loved the staff!! The manager and his wife were really lovely to deal with. There was a flooding incident in our kitchenette, due to human error, and they were so kind, caring and understanding of the situation. I loved the mineral pool!! It was nice to be able to come back and fill the tub up, and have a good soak before bed. My 5 and 3 year old loved it too! The rooms met our every need. They were tidy and spacious. The bathroom and spa area were very clean. The kitchenette was well stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal, and the chromecast to keep the little ones occupied was an added bonus. The cost was very cheap, considering the fact that we had a mineral spa in each room. I rented two mineral spa rooms next to one another. One for my teenage boys, and another for myself and my young daughters. I would highly recommend staying here, and will be using Karaka Tree Motel in the future. Ngā mihi, Many thanks

Good price for what you get. Staff were friendly. In the perfect location for lake views, close enough to town. The single beds were separate from the queen bedroom, so perfect for me and my husband and my mother in law giving us privacy from each other.

Private in-room mineral pool, lakefront walk path to hot water beach, very clean linen and towel, very friendly front desk lady and dog-friendly. The motel was full but there is always a carpark near our unit we can find.

I need a safe place for me to rest for the night because I have been travelling on my own. My room feels so fresh and clean, basically it met my needs and requirements. Karaka Tree Hotel will now be my go to place, and I know I will be staying here more often on my travels.

The shower was warm and powerful enough to wash my hair in. The thing I didn't love was the bed - it was quite small and too soft for me - I prefer a firm bed that supports me without bending. The TV had a good selection of channels but was quite small. Overall, it was a good hotel for its price. It was very clean and the owner was very friendly and professional.

This motel was clean, quiet, comfortable and spacious. Very comfortable bed, nice and warm unit. Off road parking close to unit. Only a short distance from the town. Good value. Sky TV with several channels. Well soundproofed from units next door.

This is a great place to stay the rooms are spacious and clean its quiet but close to town and the lake the staff are really helpful and friendly parking is tight but overall a cery great place to stay

Clean, modern (compared to many in NZ), lovely room. My kids were so happy at the sight of our room no.7 on the upper floor! Convenient location walkable to some shops. If you’re hunting for by the lake views u can consider Boulevard Waters (stayed there too) but this was more than sufficient for us. Contented! We will be back!

Travelling down country and stopped in Taupō for a night. Clean tidy rooms with all the essentials incl Sky and WiFi. Short stroll to town for dinner. And all at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will use again.

We arrived in the evening - very friendly from the start and had put our lights and heat pump on ready for us. The room was clean, well laid out, large bathroom, comfy king bed (we had the Deluxe Studio Suite, courtyard view, executive level). Good hangers for our clothes, suitcase bench, table and well equipped kitchen. The shower cubicle was large with great shower pressure, supplied toiletries, good size towels etc. A bit disappointed in the sign on the wall saying we would be charged $10 per day for not doing our own dishes. I find this bad business and bad hygiene - we pay for the room and always in the past this included dishes. I've been a motel cleaner years ago and even if the guests did their own dishes, it was seldom up to a standard to pass on to the next guest. I hate to think that when we are new guests that we have to trust the previous ones did a good job or just slap dash to avoid the $10. Guests should not have to do dishes unless they want to - and most times we want to and do, but object to being threatened with a high fee if not done. It's not a camping ground cabin, it's a motel. For good hygiene, the cleaners should do this so they can be accountable if not done properly for next guests.

Great location, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was spacious, modern, comfortable, warm and clean. It had everything we needed. We loved the communal balcony that had stunning views of Lake Taupō, Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe.

The staff were fantastic, the room was very clean and spacious. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable and a good option of channels on TV. Good space in the bathroom to set up for a long stay, and the shower had good pressure. The option to also park on site was perfect for us too. It’s a quick walk to town, with a beautiful view of the lake.

The bathroom was spacious with a separate large jet tub. The bed was fabulous and entire room spacious. There was even an outdoor patio. This was an unexpected pleasure. The room was spotless and seemed brand new. Great location just a few minutes walk to cafes and restaurants fronting the lake. Christine and Dave were friendly and helpful. This is an exceptional accommodation.

A perfect, cosy little studio within walking distance to the lake. Hosts Warren & Dianne were an absolute pleasure, very welcoming & friendly. Lots of suggestions & travel tips. The spa pool at the end of the day was an absolute treat. Perfectly clean with everything you need for a trip away. If this little gem is available, book it immediately!

Location was great, nice and close to town and the lake front, but far enough away to be quiet. Warryn & Dianne were great hosts, very friendly, considerate and thoughtful. The room is modern, very clean, tidy & comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you :)

It was the perfect stay. The facilities were excellent and clean, and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. After being on the road for a while, it was lovely to stay at Suite Petite for a few days and rest. My husband and I were sad to leave, but the hosts were so kind to let us have a late check out, which came in handy and allowed us to enjoy one last morning in Taupo. It was our favourite stay in NZ so far!

The place is wonderful, lots of space in the rooms. The view on the lake from the house and the jacuzzi is great.

Easy checkin and chackout process. Accacia bay is located 6min drive from Taupo center, it is very quiet and relaxing spot. We had a room with a view on the lake and we could use jacuzzi provided by the host which was great. Room is big , bed very comfortable, big size kitchen and small bathroom however host offered bigger one - for us it was more than enough. Host - Don is very friednly and supportive. If I could I would stay longer.

We loved Acacia Bay so much!! Our fav stay in New Zealand, and we have slept in 5 different locations! Don, the host was suuuuuuper nice and his hospitality is extraordinary. The apartament that we got had private access to the terrace and we literally had private jacuzzi as at the time there were no other people there! So cool! The host gave us super nice welcome gift, went for us to the Main street upon arrival when we got lost, also left us nice messages and access to washing and drying area.

Excellent, spacious, clean and well appointed! Great view of the lake and volcanoes, close (5 minute drive) to shops and restaurants. There was a Jacuzzi, which we did not use, as we were travelling for work. The heaters warmed the place up pretty fast and made it nice and cozy. There are four bedrooms - we used only three, so there would be space for more people. Owners are very helpful and respond fast.

Home and location was perfect! We loved the view of the Lake from the lounge and kitchen - so peaceful, relaxing and just beautiful. The beds were comfortable and the home was presented really well, clean and fresh with everything we needed for a fabulous stay. Highly recommend The Lakehouse. We can't wait to be back again soon!

Pretty much everything was amazing Everything you can think was we had it, it’s clean, spacious, and the spa is amazing. The driveway is a bit challenging , very steep with a bit of a dip at the top so lowered vehicles would struggle.

The location was so close to good facilities and near the waterfront. The property was excellent, spacious and clean. It was also safe for the toddlers in our family. And the hot spa was amazing!

The late check in was easy. They left the lights and heat on which was great after a long drive. The bathroom and kitchen had been updated. Beds were comfortable. Good shower pressure. Our room did have a jacuzzi which was a surprise. A lot of the rooms (outside) seemed to have car chargers which we didn't need but saw others using.

A quiet motel, close to the Waikato River and Spa Thermal Park (10 mins walking distance to the Otumuheke Hot Water Pools). It was cosy, had decent amenities and was quite liveable. No hob but had everything else (microwave, kettle, dishes, cutlery, fridge) The staff were friendly, check in was quick and simple. The bed was comfortable, the aircon kept the room cool and the bathroom was quite clean with required amenities.

Reception staff were very friendly and super helpful. Loved being able to bring our dogs and the big grounds were perfect for the dogs also. Comfortable beds and clean, warm bedding. Great shower also. Having Netflix provided was a bonus.

They heated the room for our arrival. The rooms were clean, and it had a private bathroom. It came with kitchen supplies, a fridge, and a microwave. The beds were very comfortable. The towels were thick and fluffy. You can park right in front of your room. It's conveniently located. It's good value for money. The staff are really friendly. Free wifi. The stream that runs through the property that's thermal. There's a playground.

The place was much bigger than expected and spacious. Great for us travellers with large luggages. Clean apartment with a good variety and quality of amenities provided. Check in was seamless - Michelle even let us drop our bags when we reached way before the check in time, and let us check in early so we could get to explore the rest of the town. Love the way the door is locked - so fuss free!! Facilities were good, there’s washing machine, induction stove with pots and pans, kitchenware and complimentary Nespresso capsules and coffee and tea. I also love their hot chocolate!!! (bloom) ☕️ Love that there is a backyard area which we can sun/dry off our clothes with the drying rack in the room. There’s also hair dryer, sufficient hangers, iron and ironing board and TV with YouTube connection. Parking space was very sufficient, great porch and quite near the beach (walking distance to the hot water beach and also to shops, restaurants and supermarkets) Overall great experience and would highly recommend this place to couples and families looking to stay in Taupo. This is quite a big town with lots of amenities including good restaurants (e.g. Plateau); the lake is magnificent and the natural hot water makes a visit to the local municipal swimming pool an experience. We stayed at eMotel in a chalet-style, spotlessly clean, apartment which comprised a separate bedroom, two TVs (with Sky Sports), very well-equipped kitchen including hob, dishwasher, and laundry; with a lake view, quiet but central location, and parking outside the chalet, no negatives. Service from Michelle very good too. VFM exceptional at $142 – though I believe prices have crept up since we booked but even at $300, would be good VFM. Rating 10/10.

Beautiful views at a very comfortable and well run estate. Our room was lovely - very nice bedding, clean bathroom with amazing hot high pressure shower, other nice amenities like coffee and tea, robes and towels - truly better than a hotel! The hilltop views are stunning especially at sunset and it feels very serene and peaceful, especially with the friendly animals nearby. Breakfast the next morning was a delicious cafe style breakfast, best eggs Benedict we've ever had! We loved the little handmade pottery pieces at breakfast too. Our host Michelle was so friendly and lovely and was kind enough to take us to feed the deer when we expressed interest in the animals! It was such a nice treat after such a scrumptious breakfast. We loved our stay here, it was exactly what we needed for a peaceful, relaxing and comforting retreat and we would choose Hilltop Whakaipo Estate in a heartbeat for the next time we come to Taupo!

Warning: this review will contain a lot of high praise! Hilltop Whakaipo Estate is absolutely wonderful. The room is very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view (we had the lakeview room) and a great bed. The bathroom is modern, and has a fantastic shower. Breakfast is delightful, we chose a tasty full English breakfast but this was only one of the many options - the Eggs Benedict also looked splendid. Because breakfast is at a single table, you get to meet the other guests, but also get to talk to the amazing hosts, which give advice on what to see and do around Taupo. We even got to feed the beautiful deers which are only one of the many animals on their domain. You have to be prepared for three enthousiastic dogs, which were very playful and loved being pet and belly rubbed. We highly recommend this place!

Peter was very welcoming and his place was beautiful! It had amazing views and the most playful dogs. Our rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. We had requested a vegetarian breakfast and a range of options were put forward for us. Breakfast was hot and delicious and the coffee was as good as any you'd get at a good cafe. Bonus was getting to feed their deer, collecting fresh eggs, having a conversation and walking through his property. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to stay at Taupo and we look forward to staying there again.

Out stay at Hilltop Whakaipo Estate was amazing. The property is beautiful with amazing views that stretched to Lake Taupo. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. The shower was phenomenal and so relaxing. We enjoyed interacting with their pups as well as their deer, Holly. The breakfasts Michelle prepared were unbelievable! With cafe experience, she made an incredible eggs Benedict as well as french toast made with homemade brioche. Best breakfast we have ever had, hand down. The coffee was also cafe-quality! Such an awesome getaway, nothing but relaxation. The staff are amazing, nothing was an issue. The room was perfect, view over the lake, spa bath with the sliding window to take in the view was great, excellent kitchenette facility. The jacuzzi and heated pool are simply perfect - 2 hrs lazy time in both areas, couldn't get enough, walking from our room in the provided robes and simply chill. 5 star experience. And a massive thanks to the staff and manager's.

everything. we had the one bedroom apartment with lake view. there was nothing we didn't like about the apartment. It was spacious, quiet, fab view of the lake, good sized and comfortable bed and the managers and staff were friendly, helpful and offered good advice about the Taupo area and places to eat. We loved walking around the lake to the coffee van about 1 km towards town where locals and tourists mix. Had a swim in the lake one morning and the water was at a really pleasant temperature. A nice thing to do after the coffee.

The best place to stay in Taupo, we stayed here only one night on our travels through New Zealand North Island, it was our favorite place to stay. The staff was great; the hotel was very clean. They don't have elevators, so we had to carry our bags up a flight of stairs. We had two room as we were traveling with another couple our rooms were next to each other, the front desk lady was so nice to put us together. They do not have a restaurant but will do breakfast if ordered before 7pm the night before, the Front desk told us the restaurant they get the breakfast from was just outside the gate down the walkway along the lake a few yards away. The pool was amazing bath temperature and very clean, atmosphere was perfect to relax and enjoy some down time. I would recommend

We were slightly surprised to find that this place (which had been booked by our travel agent)was effectively a motel, but we really needn't have worried. Our 'room' was a suite with a kitchenette complete with tea and coffee supplies, a comfy lounge area and balcony overlooking the lake, and a very comfy bedroom. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, suggesting places to eat etc and directing us to a lovely cafe round the corner for breakfast. It was a very good location, easy to find with guest parking.

TL;DR: Perfect family stay — clean, quiet and incredibly relaxing with everything you need. We stayed in the deluxe one-bedroom apartment and loved every bit of it.. it's an incredible property. The space was spotless, peaceful, and had a stunning view of Lake Taupō. It was ideal for a couple with a young child as it's fully equipped for a comfortable, self-sufficient stay. A special mention for the electric blankets which were a great treat for the icy Taupō night. The pool and spa were an awesome bonus, too. There is a smart TV and huge spa bath in this apartment as well. The location was great as we had a car and everything was only a quick drive away, and Woolworths a minute up the road. Charis was genuinely warm and welcoming, which made our experience even better. We highly recommend Anchorage Resort to anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

Peter was Very helpful, he was very welcoming he also gave us great suggestions of places to visit, so friendly, such a great environment. Our kids loved everything about this Resort. So family oriented. 👪 Staff are amazing, so welcoming and such a homely feeling. Swimming pool was a highlight for our children whom wish to swim all day an night if they could. That's all they wanted to do is swim, but over all our children called it home. The view from our room is also amazing, so exceptional and guaranteed a place to come back too, looking out to the lake. We are definitely coming back here again. Always love this motel...rooms are clean and spacious...staff are friendly and helpful. Pool is perfect for relaxing. Great sunny spot with outdoor furniture to enjoy a wine while enjoying the view. Nice LG TV which is great for hooking up your own Netflix account to. Great restaurant with good pizzas and coffee just a five minute walk away.

We had the best time with our extended family at The Anchorage! The rooms were super clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The swimming pools were a big hit—one for toddlers, a bigger one for everyone else, and a heated spa that was perfect for relaxing. The hosts were so friendly and made us feel right at home. The location near Two Mile Bay was awesome—nice and quiet but still close to everything you need. There are two restaurants within walking distance and a supermarket just a couple of minutes away by car. It was the perfect spot for our family. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked again for Christmas. Can’t wait to come back—thanks for having us!

This was actually much nicer than the Booking.com description implied. A very comfortable, clean, quiet and very spacious apartment, with a well fitted-out kitchen and laundry facilities. Good parking. The managers were really friendly too. Close to all the central city restaurants and a very short walk to the lake. Would happily stay here again, there's a lot to see and do in and around Taupo.

An impeccably clean & well-appointed unit - it contained both a full kitchen & a laundry (washer & dryer) as well as a separate bedroom, a seating area with comfortable couches & 50in TV, and a dedicated dining area, so inside it was very spacious. We didn't have a view of the lake, but there was dedicated outdoor seating space & car parking right outside the unit. It was an easy 5 - 10 minutes walk to restaurants & bars & literally across the road from the lake.

The accommodations were very spacious and comfortable. The unit was just like a house with 2 bedrooms downstairs and an upstairs lounge and fully equipped kitchen and laundry machines. The managers were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a pool in front of the lake and a spa. And in the center area two big BBQ for anyone to use, besides a tennis court in the back for some sport fun. To top it all, a short walk from the center of town. Just the best. Totally recommend.

Cute cottage, has clean and fully equipt kitchen, soft comfy beds with clean sheets (smells fresh from luandry) but the most favorite is the jacuzzi tub. The room also smells divine when we entered it. The price is reasonable esp for 4 adults and a kid.

We had a spacious room with a jacuzzi bath. The room was spotless with all the facilities which you could need. The lake front is less than a minutes walk away. Check in was convenient with an email for the code to the lock box to get in. Highly recommended.

Lovely motel wish we could have stayed longer. clean and comfortable jacuzzi bath was great. Just what I needed to soothe my aching legs also included lavender oil.

As soon as we got there Lisa and Colin were welcoming and friendly. Our rooms were perfect, very spacious, tidy and clean had all the basics, kitchenware and bathroom accessories. Lounge and rooms were comfy.and cosy There was a playground just outside our room which was great for our girls, and there was a rumpus room with table tennis and pool table which was alot of fun Had a lovely private spa there which was a bonus as it was a cold weekend. Colin was very welcoming and provided helpful info about dining options. Apartment was well laid out , clean and spacious. Very comfortable beds in the bedrooms . Lovely balcony where we sat and had dinner and enjoyed the absolutely beautiful view. Quiet area. Had a great sleep. Daughter loved the swimming pool. Four square shop across the road, very handy. The location was great, only 2km from town yet far enough from the traffic and all the noise on the lake front. There is also a 4square opposite which was convenient. The room was exactly like the photos and we loved how clean everything was. The family suites had plenty space for our family of 4 and travelling during the winter, the electric blankets kept us nice and cosy throughout our 3 night stay. The wifi quality was great and having sky provided was a good way to wind down. We were also provided a 20% discount to debretts which was incredibly helpful. You can book the spa so it allows you some privacy and the playground was a good way to keep the kids entertained. Colin was very helpful from the moment we arrived and the cleaning ladies would check in to see if we needed anything. All in all a very pleasant and easy stay we can't wait to return. 😊

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They recommended activities in Taupo, good restaurants and breakfast places that were all amazing! They helped us with our skydiving reservation and went out of their way to make sure we could get our jump. Location is a few minutes walk away from the lakefront and the harbour can be reached in a 20~30 minutes very enjoyable walk. The room was extremely clean and well furnished. Beds included a heated mattress which was the cherry on top for our nights!

Spacious Cottage indoors and out! Had a lovely courtyard that had gates we could put up easily on either side for privacy and to contain a dog. Loved that it was dog friendly, and there was a big reserve right out the back!! Warm rooms with comfortable beds! The shower was amazing, and there was great pressure! Loved how peaceful it was, couldn't hear any road noise at all. Beautiful place to stay, right by the lake! Friendly staff and very clean! Very happy!!

We booked the dog friendly unit, very comfortable, private, quiet & clean, across the road to the lake and a short stroll to a waterfront bar & pizza spot which was also dog friendly. Our hosts were very welcoming, we were travelling from the Sth Island to our new home further North, with two cars, a trailer, & two dogs they happily sorted secure off street parking for us. Wouldn’t hesitate to reccommend these guys, thanks for making our travels so easy.

Comfortable three night stay in this motel, with the lake across the road. Small dining table with a couple of easy chairs - needed to sit on the extra cushions to eat at the table. Comfortable, good sized bed. Small kitchenette with fridge-freezer, two ring hob, microwave, toaster and kettle - plus cutlery, crockery and utensils. Small en suite shower/toilet room with heated towel rail - plenty of hot water. The room is fronted by floor to ceiling glass sliding door and windows, so use the curtains for privacy/block out the sun. Room service was sporadic: one day but not another. Designated parking space. A few km from Taupo centre. A clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Great being able to have a dog with us, this was a major reason we booked here and we were pleased we did. Even has a doggy friendly park directly behind it. Well set up with all the basics thought of, tidy room and a friendly knowledgeable owner, and the set up was fine for what we needed. Room was cosy with heater provided and surprisingly quiet overnight given the location. Didn't go to the sailing club bar/restaurant opposite but looked like a good place to try next time, also dog friendly and literally just across the road!

This motel exceeded our expectations both in quality and price. Such a wonderful affordable stay without any compromise.

Renovated spacious apartment right across from the lake and an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and even left us some delicious homemade shortbread. The entire apartment was very clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful, peaceful resort within close proximity to everything you'd need - the local Woolworths', gas stations, local shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. The property itself is stunning - the lake, walkway and mountains can be seen from your main windows, the hosts are personable and hospitable - they went above and beyond to make our stay that extra bit special (home baked shortbread and calling ahead to see when we'd check in so they could turn the heating in our room on before we arrived so our apartment would be cosy, and the prviate spa was ready to go the second we arrived!). The apartment was spotless and spacious and very well maintained. You'd be hard pressed to find a place that offers better value for your money.

The Gables hosts were so welcoming, and it's clear that they take pride in the experience at their place. It's right across from the crystal clear water of the public beach (and a couple ice cream and coffee carts). The in-room private hot pool was well-maintained and a great way to end the day. They have kayaks available, but we ended up doing a guided tour instead. It was nice to have the room tidied up daily by the housekeeping team and to have access to laundry facilities. For a motel, it was surprisingly quiet and relaxing. The amazing sunsets were an extra bonus!

The host was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Before we began, when I called to check the booking (and make 3 sets of changes!), our host was extremely helpful and patient. The room was very clean, thoughtfully decorated and smelt delicious on arrival. Lovely light and spacious room, great little kitchen, dining and large bathroom with spa bath. The lovely new air con units gave us a most comfortable stay, along with fabulous block out/ privacy drapes. Easy access to the pools, which was heated just right, and spa, a fab hot tub style with lights for the evening dip. Outdoor seating for all motels. Our room had double doors to open to enjoy the beautiful weather. The motel is literally Lakefront and straight onto the lakeside walkway. The host had also advised of the Two Mile Sailing Club, a fun popular dining spot, which was just a few minutes' walk away and the new supermarket nearby. Our towels were changed daily, our kitchen cleaned and tidied. Our host also made careful provision for our motorbike to be close to our room and tucked away so we felt relaxed throughout our stay. Thank you so very much for all your personal care. ❤️ We will be back!! We also noted this motel is dog friendly, how fabulous.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cascades Lakefront Motel. The location is perfect, right by the lake, and the view made everything even more special. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, the new beds and air conditioning made a real difference. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. We also enjoyed the outdoor area, especially being able to have a barbecue while enjoying the lake view. It was our second time staying here, and we’ll definitely come back again. Highly recommended for families!

One night at this very good Bella Vista Motel. We have stayed at many Bella Vistas and the room layout is nearly the same always. Here we stayed at first floor studio. It was super clean, comfortable beds and heat pump. WiFi connection was fast. Friendly service, too. One of the best Bella Vista accommodations so far. Location is about 20 min. walking distance (3 min. by car) from Taupo center but round the corner there is FourSquare supermarket, café and little further at sea side good pub-restaurant.

An absolutely perfect stop for the night! The room was cosy and had everything I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable - especially after a long day of travelling - and the shower pressure was just right. Overall a lovely stay & convenient distance to the town centre!

I got there by bus, walking distance to the hostel. Very helpful staff to welcome me, explaining everything in detail. Loved the pod, made out of wood, plenty of space in there to put your things and good light plus plugs. Very comfy bed. Private bathroom in there, great shower. Very airy, door open to the courtyard. Great kitchen, library and lots of seating and tables in the courtyard. Very friendly feeling around the place. Very big supermarket around the corner. Walk to the lake is lovely, lots of shops and restaurants all around town.

I absolutely loved this hostel! You get your own very spacious pod with light and a spot to charge your devices. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. The dorm rooms have their own toilet and shower so you don’t have to go outside, which in the winter period is a huge plus for me. The kitchen and common room are spacious as well.

The lake-view room on the bottom floor provided a somewhat glimpse of Lake Taupo, although a better view would likely be obtained from a room on the second level. The room itself was comfortable, with the only drawback being the air conditioning system taking a while to kick in, resulting in initial coldness upon entering. However, the hotel staff informed us of this beforehand, so it wasn't a major issue. The room was also relatively quiet, with minimal disturbance from outside noise. The bathroom was bright and clean, adding to the comfort of getting ready in the morning. Although we did not utilise the kitchenette during our one-night stay, it appeared to be well-stocked for a hotel. The check-in process was fast, and the staff were friendly, providing a positive first impression. The location of the hotel is excellent, with a short walk to the numerous bars, restaurants, and cafes in the main town centre. Additionally, the pleasant surprise of waking up on a Sunday morning to a farmers market right across the road, offering local and handcrafted goods, added to the overall experience.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, well-appointed - amazing water pressure. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved the facilities, location, views and staff. The pool and playground allowed for us adults to relax and put our feet up while keeping the kids entertained. It was also very hand having the restaurant on site - beautiful, spacious and faces the lake for stunning morning/evening views. Great location as the hotel is a short walk from the city centre, restaurants, shops, and the lake which is right in front of the hotel. Some of us had stunning views of the lake from our rooms and we would watch the parasailers, jet skiers, golfers (hitting into the lake), etc etc. All staff were lovely and friendly - cleaners, groundsman, waiters, reception.

The room service was an added bonus. So nice having breakfast and coffee brought to my room. All staff were wonderful. Restaurant staff were fantastic. Jack brought me dinner and breakfast on 3 different days. He was a delight and even remembered what coffee I had when I had breakfast in the restaurant on my last day of the stay. Also had Marion as my waitress she was bubbly and happy and nothing was too much trouble. This is now the only place il stay in Taupo . Love it

We had a magnificent view of the lake and snow capped mountain, it was very relaxing. Our room was right across the road from the park, we happened to be there on a weekend and on Sunday there was a huge market, what a bonus. The staff was very helpful, unfortunately the restaurant was closed for renovations but they offered room service and were only too pleased to cater to our requests. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Guest laundry was two doors down and very convenient. I highly recommend the Suncourt Hotel.

This motel is nicely located very close to the town center and restaurants and cafes. So it is a very short walk. My room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. It was quiet. I had a nice view of the lake. The staff is very friendly here.

Roomy and comfortable. The bed and furniture was comfy and easy to relax in. Good kitchen facilities, great-sized fridge and plenty of bench & storage space. It was great to be able open windows up or use aircon. I loved the bathroom/toilet/shower set-up in the room I had. The shower was big and pressure divine! The location was spot on, close to the city centre, food, petrol station, supermarket. Easy to walk into town. For somewhere central plus a busy weekend, it was surprisingly quiet which was welcome.

So close to services. Comfortable walking distance as in less than one block from major supermarket and chemist amongst other stores. Comfy as bed. Nice and clean. Kitchen equipped enough to reheat or stove top cook. Host wasnt so chatty or helpful upon arrival but lovely and super helpful the next morning. Bad hair day maybe!! Lovely lake views from our second storey unit. Warm unit with spare blankets. Generous sized bathroom/toilet.
