Exceptional Stay at Hotel Residence Esplanade We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Residence Esplanade in Viareggio. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the service throughout was excellent—staff were always friendly, helpful, and professional. Our room was spacious, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast had a great variety of fresh and tasty options to choose from. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the beach. The beach club recommended by the hotel was lovely, well-maintained, and made our beach days extra relaxing. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Viareggio. We would definitely return!

We received a warm, friendly and informative welcome from reception staff on arrival to this charming hotel. Our room was fresh, clean and large, with a separate seating area, very comfortable bed, plenty pillows, lots of storage and toiletries provided. Although the hotel is only a few metres from the promenade, it is lovely and quiet at night, ensuring a good sleep. There was a nice little rooftop seating area that was lovely to sit out on and relax for a while after breakfast with my book. Breakfast was a fresh, high quality affair with lots of fruit, cold meats, cheese, salad, break, eggs, bacon, bread and cakes on offer - eggs were cooked to order and my other half enjoyed several omelettes during our stay. Our only negative was that tea and coffee was served to guests initially but this changed to guests making their own tea in a cup using hot water from a jug kept on a hot plate. This doesn’t make nice tea as the water isn’t boiling and would suggest to continue serving tea to guests initially a teapot. All staff we met were extremely friendly, cheerful and helpful. If we come back to Viareggio, we would love another stay in this gorgeous hotel.

This hotel is fabulous and we would highly recommend. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, the bar was very relaxing and breakfast is amazing with a great selection. This property is perfectly located for the promenade, bars and restaurants which are all only a short walk. The Hotel also offers bicycles for hire which we did on our last day and it is so worth cycling the length of the promenade as the views and beaches are stunning along the way. We would definitely book this hotel again in the future, thank you

I think it is a privilege to stay at this hotel because bathing in the jacuzzi takes away all the tiredness of your day. The location of the hotel is one step away from everywhere, the hotel is clean and the service provided is very professional. The host is extremely kind, sensitive, meets all your requests immediately and communicates with you very quickly. I think this hotel deserves four stars. I recommend you to stay at this hotel, you will not regret it.

I Loved the location it was perfect, a big, clean and comfortable room with plenty of storage. The host was great, she even supplied an extension cable for my fire stick, we were warned about the roadworks but they turned out to be an advantage as the street was closed to traffic so it was very quiet at night. I liked: the fridge and kettle in the room the shower, the clothes dryer on the balcony, and the comfy bed with vintage cotton sheets Try the Chinese restaurant across the street; it is amazing, and there are lots of lovely shops nearby. A 5-minute walk to a spectacular beach and the train station is only minutes away

Property is located perfectly , between the sea and the train station. It was a struggle to find something cozy around Cinque terre and I was so happy to find this one , in Viareggio. This is a small town, not crowdy, there is a huge beach, restaurants, promenade, very nice bakeries , pizzerias, caffees. Even the the street markets at one day !So happy with the choice ! Also is much closer to Pisa. Would really recommend this one instead of La Spezia, which is big, loud and full of tourists. The apartment itself was great, not small, with a balcony and wardrobe. where you can keep your luggage. Whole place was super clean ! The bathroom was just opposite to the room , no issues with that as the whole floor is yours. Very comfortable bed and great contact with Luana !

Our stay in Mazzini Affittacamere was very pleasant. The room was very clean, well kept with a charming little balcony. The location was very accessible to the beach, bars, convenient stores and restaurants . The furniture and bathroom facilities were comfortable, clean and of relatively good quality. The room itself has many storage facilities for a lot of luggage. The accomodation is very centrally located and all important destinations (beach, restaurants and the train station !!!) are easily accesible by foot. For this reasonable price we got more than expected.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great access to beach across boulevard from hotel. Free breakfast and very delicious. Room seemed newly remodeled with electronic access and touch screen electronic controls for air conditioner. Room 205 has a side sea view with balcony and it was fine. the bathroom was huge with high end fixtures and it was the best shower so far in italy...walk in shower..ahhhhh! Lots of storage for clothes and luggage. Safe with combo in room. Cleaning staff was fast and on time. Hotel is smaller than i thought but that added to exclusivity. breakfast was included and delicious with a big buffet! hotel had no pool or observation deck. we stayed on a holiday weekend and parking was difficult..about 1 km away but...it’s italy! can drop off bags at front door. highly recommended.

As a solo female traveler I felt safe comfortable and relaxed at Hotel President. Perfectly located on the beach and great beach set up with beach Irene. Room was spotlessly clean and well appointed and loved my ocean view room. Staff was very accommodating and helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delightful, great selection including champagne. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the lobby bar complete with beautiful antiques. Totally delightful experience and I would DEFINITELY stay here again if I return to Viareggio.

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful seaside town. We couldn't have been happier with our room. All white, gorgeous furnishing, huge comfy bed, soft linen, fantastic shower and stunning products. Generous Nespresso machine. We always stay in rooms with a balcony and this had a side seaview and was perfect. The welcome, the staff, the cleaning team, all exceptional. Breakfast was delicious, so much to choose from. The location across from the beach is perfect and the beach club Irene is great. Get a gazebo/canbana, it's worth it in the heat. The food everywhere is out of this world. Italy is outle new favourite country and we will be back to Viareggio and this hotel for sure!

Great location for going to the beach .... just across the road. The room with seaview was comfortable and clean with impeccable AC. The hotel offers vouchers with a discount for umbrellas, deck chairs, sunbeds etc. on the beach. Nice breakfast with room service and the regular breakfast buffet is delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We have booked 2 rooms at Hotel President for 4 nights as were were travelling with my husband's parents. We were all very very happy our choice. The service was superb, the food out of this world: both breakfast and dinner and the hotel was in a great location. The Double Room with balcony, Partial Sea View (Prestige) wasn't as nice and big as the Exclusive Double Room, Balcony, Partial Sea View, but if you don't needs lots of space I would still highly recommend it! The beach is within 3 min walk and you can pay for beach beds/chairs at the hotel reception. There are some lovely classy shops along the promenade as well as few good restaurants. The hotel is situated in a very good location if you plan a short trip to Pisa (30 min drive) Florence (1 hour in a car) or Lucca - beautiful little gem, 30 min away. We have enjoyed so much we are planning to come back next year. Although this hotel has 4 stars, based on our experience it was better than 5 star hotels in London!

We had a one night stay in August at the Hotel Eden and really wished we had the opportunity to stay longer but will definitely return. The check in was smooth and the staff were so helpful to provide all the information to us with the parking, and beach options and restaurants. We travelled with our dog and this hotel is truly a dog friendly hotel and all staff being very kind and helpful. The location is also very convenient and central and the price for the room and breakfast very reasonable considering the location and quality of the hotel. Thank you Hotel Eden for a great stay!!!

I loved everything! The location was perfect. I had come to experience Carnevale and the hotel was right in the middle of all the fun. This would be a great location in the summer too, right across the street from the sea. I didn’t have a front balcony, but there was a sun deck on the roof which made viewing the parade very easy. My room was impeccably clean and seemed very recently remodeled - much better than the photos. It was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was also great, there were so many choices, savory and sweet.

Great friendly staff, wonderful location, comfy quiet room. 5 star quality for a 3 star price. Walk to the beach and eat at of 100 places. Free breakfast offered great quality but we especially appreciated front of the house staff and staff in the breakfast room who want to make a great stay for you. I highly recommend.

Location Fantastic, close to everything. 10 minute walk from train station and your looking at the beach from your balcony. Staff Fantastic from reception to cleaning to the lovely ladies who did service at breakfast. Great selection for breakfast also. Roof top area has Fantastic views at sunset. Would definitely stay again.

The room, the jacuzzi bath, the pool & garden, the hotel bar, the option to hire a bike, everything was great!

We got upgraded to a partial ocean view, meaning the room was much bigger than the standard three-bed. As we were two adults, a kid, and a baby, this extra space was very welcome. the location was perfect for beach visits but we enjoyed spending our mornings near the pool, where there’s a pool bar with a limited but solid menu. The staff were very attentive and remembered my coffee order and what my toddler liked at breakfast, and the waitress at the pool bar (Serena) was always kind and my kid loved chatting to her! The room was very grand and you really felt relaxed upon waking. Views out onto the promenade were very pleasant and even in a storm it was nice to watch the rain from our window. The spa bath was a nice touch and the breakfast was amazing. I love bacon and it was consistently good! Pancakes and loads of fruit options were also delicious. The cleaning staff were also lovely. When our baby had a poo accident, the staff were very calming and helpful. There was no judgement or outward irritation, and instead they just helped me change what needed to be changed. Much appreciated in a stressful moment!

Beautiful hotel, located on the north side of the walkway connecting the restaurants, shops and beaches. Although there are plenty of places to shop and eat right across the road, it’s just a quick 10 minute walk to the middle of town. But what makes this hotel stand out is the staff at the front desk. Some of the most friendly and helpful folks I have ever encountered on vacation. I had run into some medical issues and needed to access the hospital. They were very helpful and caring, setting up transportation and checking on me. Ilenya was outstanding. Breakfast is quite good at the hotel. We did not eat there for dinner, but it was a very interesting menu, and some nights they have what appears to be a very popular buffet. Quiet, nice pool in the back, and bicycles to rent. You have access to the beach across the street. I felt much more relaxed and comfortable here than staying in Forte dei Marmi. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Definitely try to get one that faces the ocean if you can. A wonderful place to stay for a few days at the beach!

We stayed at this hotel for five nights recently. It for a birthday celebration. We were welcomed on arrival by lovely reception staff. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a wonderful room with a balcony and a sea view. The hotel has a feel of old world charm, with marble floors and high ceiling. Yet, it provides first class service. The breakfast was amazing, probably one of the best yet we ever experienced in Europe. The selection of fresh produce and lovely Italian breads. What a selection of cheeses, salami, Parma ham, fresh fruits and juices. The hotel is impeccably clean throughout. On the birthday date, we were presented with a beautiful decorated pastry, and a lit candle. What a lovey touch. When we returned to our room, we found a lovely bottle of champagne and a birthday card. We were so impressed. The hotel is situated right on the seafront with several lovely shops and high class restaurants. I have to say very reasonably price quality food. The beech stretches for miles, with lovely sand. I would say it would be hard to find a better beech anywhere in Europe. We walked a lot. We found it so safe and secure. If you appreciate a quality peaceful holiday. This is the ideal location. The streets are so clean and free from rubbish. You can stroll around the street at night without any hesitation. Well done, and full compliments to the management and staff for making our trip so memorable. We will be back without a shadow of doubt.

A classic elegant hotel which is exceptionally well run. As 4 generations of my family have now came on holiday/honeymoon to the Grand Hotel Royal it shows how much we love the hotel. The staff/ management are wonderful, from the front desk who are polite and helpful to the ladies who clean the rooms which were spotless to the porters who helped with our luggage. I must give a special mention to the dining room team which is expertly run by maître Emanuele and assisted by Allesandro, the food this year was delicious, from breakfast ( enough options to suit everyone, hot/cold, sweet and savoury) to dinner ( such a varied and well structured menu, antipasti, first and second course then sweet). Along with the wonderful pool where you can also get drinks/snacks the hotel has an arrangement for guests to use the Anita beach which is just across the main road from the hotel. This is a lovely typical viareggio beach which is friendly and clean also there's a well run beach bar for drinks and food. We've already booked for next year so " ci vediamo l'anno prosimmo " 🇮🇹 😊

It was clean, spacious and the reception staff provided an exceptional greeting service. The staff were amazing. The TV lounge area was comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious. Our kids loved having their own room. The beds were amazing and there was even a pillow menu!We slept incredibly well ! The breakfast was exceptional and service was outstanding. Staff at breakfast were highly professional and well trained. The TV could hook up a Netflix account and little touches like good coffee was available in the Kitchenette.

Everything. We liked the art deco and old world charm. It was lovely and warm throughout the hotel. Service was impeccable. The room was very clean. The roof top terrace was brilliant. It was quiet, relaxing, comfortable. There were many rooms downstairs to relax in and read- there were even bookcases with books in different languages. Opposite a long sandy beach and very central shopping area. Staff were very friendly, chatty, welcoming and helpful.

Very friendly and professional staff, spacious and clean, tidy rooms. A stone throw away from the beach in front of it and from the park behind it. The view from the rooftop terrace is to die for! Especially at sunset! The breakfast top quality and plenty of delicacies to choose from. They also have an in-house restaurant with delicious food and a great wine selection.

A beautiful hotel, with really wonderful staff. So friendly and helpful, especially Jean Luca and the reception staff. A lovely room with views of the beach too. A lovely warm welcome every morning to breakfast. We also used the beach club, La Pace beach club, very nice and lovely staff. Nice restaurant too! We had a beautiful meal on one night during our stay in the roof terrace. And the morning we left, we were given a beautiful breakfast box with sandwiches, fruit, cakes, water and OJ! A lovely touch

Shout out to Francesca at the front desk. She was so helpful and wonderful. This is a very elegant hotel with a five star breakfast if you have the capacity to eat as much as Incredible offerings included fresh vegetable juices, nondairy, gluten-free, coffees, teas, pastries, meats,cheese, yogurt. I did like the convenience of walking across the street to the beach, which is privately managed so that you would get a chair and an umbrella set up by an attendant. There was a charge of €20 at the time which is summer high peak season. The area was very safe. My single room offered a balcony where I could sit with a table outside and take in the view - spectacular. There’s also a rooftop lounge that offers food and drinks. It’s an incredible treat to see the carousel in the distance under the stars. Convenient to have an on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner as well. Thank you to the housekeeping staff who managed to do incredible work in extreme heat with no inside hallway air conditioning. Everyone was kind and delightful.

Superb location and views from the balcony were very special. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Handy to have a mini bar with space in the fridge for a couple more items. The balcony was the outstanding feature. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. Generous times too as can have breakfast from 7:30am - 11am. Hotel is clean with nice facilities. Location is great, directly facing the beach. Short walk to the harbour. Hotel is not far from the train station. I walked from the station to the hotel on arrival which took around twenty minutes. On departute, took a taxi and was at the station in five minutes.

The staff at the hotel were lovely, so helpful and welcoming. Beds were comfortable, aircon was good and not too noisy. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was nicely presented and some items changed daily. The hotel's location is great, right on the seafront promenade with shops, bars, restaurants and the beach bagnos on the doorstep. The hotel has a deal with Bagno Amedeo where we found the owner to be very friendly, but we went one day to Bagno Belena which is a few doors along as it has outdoor pools which we enjoyed. We arrived from Lake Garda and travelled to Pisa and Lucca by train which are cheap and reliable - the hotel is 15-20 mins walk from the station. A taxi back to Pisa airport arranged by the hotel cost 85 euros.

Went for a 3 night stay after visiting Lucca. Lovely clean and well appointed hotel on the main strip, next to all local amenities. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was spotless. Verandas and rooftop amenities were great. Excellent Italian breakfast included and air condition in the room was a welcome return after temps of 35c plus during the day. Lots of Local restaurants nearby and a very short walk to fish heaven at the marina restaurants and street/ boat food. Went to the beach one day, only advise would be check the best private provider as they can vary greatly.

Rooms were perfect. We had a room with a little balcony overlooking the sea and the main street. Perfect for watching the sunset. Double glazing, so no noise can be heard from the street and awesome shutters which block out all the light. The bed was memory foam mattress which I absolutely loved and slept like a baby! Breakfast was fantastic with fresh cakes, croissants, bacon, eggs, cheeses and the most delicious ham! The staff slat the restaurant were incredibly friendly!

We loved everything about the hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff, excellent location (close to the beach, restaurants, shops and a 10-15 minute walk to the train station that connects to Pisa Centrale & Airport), clean comfortable room and amazing breakfasts each morning which we'll sorely miss.

The location is fantastic. Just a 15 minute walk from the promenade and beach, local bars and places to eat. The owners are very friendly, rooms keeps spotlessly clean and they are on hand to offer advice. A plus was the continental breakfast each morning. The hotel is in a quiet residential street and my room had a well maintained private bathroom. The room was cleaned daily also. For the price, location and customer service, this hotel/BnB is a gem in Viareggio. Having stayed in lots of different places across Tuscany, I would recommend Hotel Sauro to anyone.

Situated a quiet residential area with a pleasant walk across the park to the town centre and the amazing beachfront. The hotel has a very homely feel with friendly owners, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast.

The owners were so nice.The breakfast was so delicious and in majority there were home made cakes. The localization is perfect, near the Park and less than 15 min on foot from the sea. It was so quiet and you really could feel the Italian and marine atmosphere here.

Comfy and modernised. The spa section where the jacuzzi and steam room were could be made more appealing, but it was lovely to use.

We stayed from 13th - 21st Oct as a family of 5 with adjoining rooms. Rooms were spacious, beds comfy and spotless. The whole hotel was spotless. The amenities in the hotel are excellent. We had breakfast included. A great selection on offer for both adults and kids. Great use of the indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room. A shower cap is required for the indoor pool which is €4 each. I also had a facial at the Wellness which was brilliant. The staff 100% 1st class. BA cancelled our flight home and the hotel could not do enough to help. They help speak to our car hire firm to keep the car and navigated the language barrier. Viareggio is beautiful with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach. The staff helped us with touring around Tuscany and helped us book trains, parking etc. very informative and help us plan our visits. 100% recommend for both families and couples.

Just spent 4 days/nights in Italy staying in the Sina Astor. The staff were amazing from reception,bar,restaurant to cleaning staff,all so friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless with beautiful floors,the bar/lounge area and smoking area are great and have great views over the strip and the sea. Our room was spotless and comfortable with a great balcony view of the strip. Our flight home from Pisa was at 6am meaning we would have to leave at 2am. The girl at reception asked if we would like a breakfast box prepared as we would miss breakfast,a brilliant thoughtful touch. Highly recommend 10/10

The hotel was our second stop in Italy and was in the perfect location and well appointed. We had a sea facing balcony room which was a decent size with a modern bathroom. The balcony was lovely to sit on and watch the sunsets and also listen to the music at a restaurant on the Friday evening. We only had breakfast at the hotel which was good with lots of choice. The restaurant is more like a canteen (there are many restaurants opposite the hotel) and the lounge areas are open so not somewhere that we felt like sitting in. However the gym is very good and the pool is lovely and a definite bonus. We were given passes to a beach club opposite the hotel which was surprisingly enjoyable as the impression given from the rows of loungers is not one that I thought would be relaxing but it was! Towels are provided each day to take to the beach by the hotel. The train station is a 25 minute walk and on our return walk we came through the large park, which is behind the hotel, which was lovely. Finally the ladies on reception are very helpful. Martina particularly gave us help with train times and advice on where to find things. The Sina Astor provides everything you need to a good standard and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

I really enjoyed my stay in this welcoming and friendly hotel. The staff at the front desk were unfailingly helpful. My room was comfortable and scrupulously clean. Breakfast is ample and varied, so you don't need to eat a big lunch if you want to save your appetite for dinner. The hotel is only metres from the beachfront with shops, restaurants, bars, and, of course access to a splendid beach. One wee thing - the bar in the hotel is not a great social feature, but there are some great bars within metres of the hotel door. Watch out for the bicycle lane once you've crossed the road in front of the hotel!

Very good breakfast by Italian standard (good artisan bread, croassant, bakery goods, yoghurt, eggs, bacon - but no beans nor non-dairy yoghurt). Barrista made Coffe included: excellent capuccino. Calm quiet area close to the canal. Less than 10 min to the main beach promenade with great restaurants. Also close to the lovely forest for a nice walk though it to the free beach. Less than 5 min to local grocery store. 25 min walk to train station. Nearby towns of Pisa and Lucca are well worth visiting, with frequent train schedule and good price. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and most spoke good english (reception & breakfast). Cleaning every day. Oh, and the bed and pillows was super comfortable, pretty firm but comfortable at the same time (perhaps a bit short if you are tall). They have a nice little outdoor area in a small yard/garden, that somewhat makes up for lack of balcony.

This dog friendly hotel offers a convenient location, free parking and an excellent breakfast buffet with many homemade items. For dinner, although the menu is limited, the meals were delicious, prepared with fresh and regional ingredients. Best of all is the super friendly and helpful staff! We look forward to another trip to Viareggio and Hotel Spinelli.

This very comfortable and modern hotel is very centrally located in Viareggio. It has nice light in room and we had a view over the lovely garden space at the entrance of the building. The rooms are spotless and there is a small fridge as well as hairdryer and bathroom essentials. The staff were really helpful and professional. The breakfast which was included was fantastic. Everything you could wish for for breakfast. We rented bikes from the hotel for 10Euros a day. We’ll worth it as it’s great to cycle about in Viareggio.

This is a charming and welcoming hotel that demonstrates an old-World dedication to the comfort of its guests. For example, our host Mary took her free time to buy and deliver distilled water needed for a CPAP. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The room was clean and comfortable, if if a little tight due to the king-size bed (but the bed also was really comfortable). Easy scenic walk to the beach, promenade, restaurants, shopping. All the Hotel Spinelli staff made us feel at home.

A lovely quiet hotel with friendly English speaking staff. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a good variety at breakfast to choose from. Best of all I was able to make my own mug of tea for breakfast as tea bags and fresh milk provided.

The staff and owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was immaculate and very fresh and fragrant. The breakfast was plentiful and the coffee was perfect. As for our room ( no 9 ) what can I say. The view was special, looking out onto the boulevard and across the sea. The bed was big and comfortable with nice clean sheets, and the shower was powerful and always hot. The hotel was also within walking distance to some very nice restaurants and only a 15 minute walk to the train station.We would thoroughly recommend staying at the hotel Pardini.

Perfect location just across the road from a lovely beach and with special rates for beds for hotel guests. The beach is gorgeous. The room was great, cleaned and tidied every day. Breakfast was lovely and the lady serving breakfast was so sweet and friendly. She always had a smile for all the guests. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful, he was always on hand to offer advice. 10 out of 10 for us. Highly recommended.

I would like to thank people who have posted reviews as they helped me choose this special hotel for a two night stay in my first visit to this part of Italy. I can totally agree with the well-deserved positive comments and add that as someone using public transport, the location is also perfect. There is a beautiful fresh fragrance when you enter the bedroom that is so cosy with a really comfortable bed and the little fridge is a great addition – felt so much at home buying milk in the supermarket and storing it here for making tea. And if you enjoy coffee, the breakfast coffee here is the best! I wish to express heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, thoughtfulness, friendliness and homely atmosphere provided for guests. The Hotel Pardini is a truly special establishment and I wish you all the very best going forward.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Tirrenia and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive, always ready with a smile and helpful suggestions about the area. The room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully maintained, with a very comfortable bed and thoughtful touches that made our stay feel special. We also appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax after a day exploring the city. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful — fresh pastries, excellent coffee, and a generous selection of both sweet and savory options, all served in a bright and pleasant dining area. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. Just a short walk from the beach and conveniently close to restaurants, shops, and the main attractions, yet still in a peaceful, safe neighborhood. Overall, Hotel Tirrenia offers fantastic value for money, impeccable cleanliness, and truly heartfelt hospitality. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The hotel could not be closer to the beach, restaurants and the port. The staff are super friendly and most helpful. Breakfast is excellent, great selection to choose from, always plenty of fresh fruits and pastries, and the cappuccino is super good. The bathroom was very clean, proper shower power, modern toilet and bidet, functioning hair drier etc. Because we stayed 12 nights, we had many clothes and it would have been a bit more comfortable to have a bigger wardrobe in the room. Thanks to regular and thorough housekeeping we always had fresh towels and good supply of toiletries. I definitely recommend this hotel, and we also hope to return next summer.

Staff are friendly and helpful and professional, always there if you need anything. Breakfast was served with a smile fresh fruit, cereals, cakes, eggs, bacon and frankfurters, toast, pastries and yoghurt plus more. Delicious cappuccino! Spotless hotel with a nice area to sit in the evening. Room was a decent size with a great en-suite, toiletries, fridge, hairdryer, TV and safe. Across the main road from beachfront, great restaurants and shops. 10 minute straight walk to train station.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location! It is very close to the beach and all the shops and restaurants. It had an amazing breakfast. So much fresh fruit that was constantly refilled. The owner (Luca) and all the members of the staff are super friendly and accommodating! If you had any issues they solved everything very quickly. The hotel is also really clean, has great AC and decent bathrooms to clean up after the beach! It was a fantastic place!

We had a most enjoyable stay at this hotel for seven nights commencing 25th August 2011. The family were really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The hotel is kept sparklingly clean by the owner and is very quiet. Very convenient for the beach and promenade.Reduce rate on the private beach for hotel residents. Hotel provided towels. This is a family run hotel and the moment you stepped in, you felt the warmth and joy there. Very close to the beach and palm tree- lined walk by the beach, yet also central to the city. Great restaurants (but the little restaurant in the hotel is yummy too!), parks, and of course the beach are so close to this charming hotel! The owners Christina and Lucca were super kind and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay, including arranging Carnevale tickets for us, restaurant suggestions, etc,,. The hotel is a cheerful turquoise sea-themed hotel, and white washed and fresh. Wrought iron and marble, sweetly decorated with cheerful flowers and seashells. The rooms and shower may be petite but well designed, and the room has all you need to be comfortable. We slept very well in the comfortable beds and the breakfast was wonderful too. Great for couples, young adults and families alike. We loved our stay here!

The Hotel is quite cozy, just a 10 minutes walk from the train station and only 2 minutes from the beach (promenade). The hotel staff was very friendly! The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The welcome drink on arrival was an appreciated gesture. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean - the bathroom a standout for size, shower etc. Air conditioning worked well and it was nice to have the little balcony. The breakfast was excellent and it was nice to eat outside on the terrace. The location is residential and thus very quiet and peaceful.

Hotel Canarco is a real gem in Viareggio, very simple, but perfectly clean and with everything you need for a comfortable short stay. It’s quiet, small but comfortable, with AC that made our summer nights very pleasant. The location is awesome, close to everything, and it’s great for a budget holiday. What makes it truly special are the wonderful family owners, who are extremely friendly, welcoming, and make you feel right at home with genuine Italian hospitality. A perfect choice if you value cleanliness, kindness, and a truly local experience, highly recommended!

Convenient location to train and bus stop and beach area. Quaint and charming older style hotel. It has no lift but owner had someone to help carry our bags to our room. Very neat and clean in bedroom. Lovely balcony with old style shutter doors. AC worked very well. Breakfast was a delicious mix of cheeses, meats, and pastries, yogurt, cereals. Cappuccino, tea, of coffee americano. Staff was great. Spoke very little English but we managed. Overall great stay and would recommend.

This family-run hotel is a small cozy one situated in a quiet part of the town not far from the promenade and the beach line. The breakfast was tasty with excellent cappuсcino and a wide choice of cakes and bakery. The hotel stuff was friendly and attentive. Our special thanks to Mr. Andrea who kindly helped us to get our luggage lost in the airport back.

It was a beautiful hotel. Lovely, spacious and beautifully appointed room. It has a lovely breakfast room with a great choice of pastries, cakes as well as cheese, salmi, eggs and breads. Very helpful and friendly hosts who offered room service and drinks on the outside terrace.

Cosy, quiet hotel, and very friendly and helpul staff. There is no private parking, but plenty of parking in the area for 5€ a day (it was March, maybe the situation is different in summer, I don't know). There are plenty of sweet options for breakfast, with a choice of different cakes. However, like everywhere in Italy (sadly, if you ask me), the choice of savoury options is much more limited, to say the least. The WiFi works very well (I had several online meetings using my work VPN without any problem).

Had a fabulous 14 night stay in this beautiful family run hotel. The hotel is spotless with the rooms cleaned everyday and fresh towels left everyday. The hotel is perfectly located - near to the railway station, bus station, promenade with shops and restaurants and the beach. All within walking distance. Every morning the breakfast was delicious. The most fantastic variety of fresh fruit served everyday, croissants, bacon, eggs breakfast juices, tea, coffee and amazing cakes. There is a really good supermarket just located round the corner which is really reasonably priced and sells everything. Beach - The beach is within a very short distance of the hotel. Hotel Katy has a discount arrangement with the beach club Maurizio. Stefano was brilliant sorting us out with sun loungers (7 days for 80 euro). On our last day we wanted to spend sometime at the beach but could not get showered at Hotel Katy as we had to be checked out at 11am. There are good shower facilities at the beach which we were able to avail of and Hotel Katy gave us towels that we could use.

A delightful hotel very close to the beach , but just off the main beach road - so nice and quiet. I had a single occupation of a double room and it was very comfy and clean. I looked onto the hills behind. There was an excellent buffet breakfast, with hot food as well as all th usual continental style things- and lovely fresh fruit- and great coffee to go with it. Also breakfast was till 10.30am - so even with a fuzzy head you could make it! The owners were really helpful and very charming, as were their staff. I am definitely going to stay again and next time I will treat myself to a balcony room! CJ

This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel, it certainly deserves the high rating in the reviews. The owners are all staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel, rooms, breakfast area are all very clean, well finished and to high standards. The bedrooms are modern and very clean. There is a wide choice of freshly prepared food at breakfast. It is a minor point only as breakfast starts at 8am, and I like to eat earlier. But it is just about adjusting your day to suit. The hotel a good location being is 15 minutes walk from the station and close to the beach area and facilities. I have been to Viareggio several times and enjoy returning for a relaxing break or opportunity to visit other places on the train. I would willingly stay at this hotel again, and highly recommend it to friends. But book early as it is in high demand!

Wonderful family run hotel just steps from the beach. Staying here five nights was a relaxing break from a previous week of a lot of sightseeing. The hotel provided all of the basics including a delicious breakfast. They provided towels to use at the beach and recommended the beach rental companies to use. The family was always very helpful as one day we decided to visit the town of Lucca, the owner immediately provided us with a map of the town, pointed out the most visited sights and also printed out the train schedule - departures and returns. This is above and beyond service you would get with chain-type hotels. It made our excursion to Lucca very enjoyable. Viareggio is probably not a place visited by most tourists. It is a scenic sea resort going back to the 1930's with a long beautiful walk all along the beach and many shops and restaurants.

The family that owns this small but comfortable hotel were very welcoming hosts. The rooms were attended to daily and kept spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day. The breakfast provided was excellent with cereals, fruit, meats, egg, and cakes available all with the choice of water, juice or a hot drink. In our room, there was no balcony but this was not a major factor for me. The owners were very helpful in giving tips on booking sun loungers and parasols on the beach and how to use the local train services. If you are looking for a small well-kept hotel you will find this to your liking. However, if you like watching English t.v. programs or other kinds of entertainment then this is not the hotel for you as it is simply bed and breakfast.

Excellent location in the heart of Viareggio town with close access to restaurants and bars, and the fabulous sandy beach for which the area is famous. The hotel is just down a side street which means it is quiet, but conveniently close to the main road. We arrived by train and took a taxi to the hotel (5mins, €15) Our room was on the 4th floor (75 steps - or a lift) and had a small balcony and a large window looking towards the west, and the sea 200 m away. It was clean with ensuite bathroom. Slightly awkward shower if I'm being picky. Friendly and helpful reception, good breakfast with a bacon-and-eggs option. It looked to have a good restaurant, although we didn't use it.

The owners were so helpful and professional . The availability of utube for news from Australia and Netflix was really important to us . 🤗 In such a small , family run Hotel , that was a real bonus and the owners went out of their way to make it work . Really convenient for the beach- just across the road - and about 15 minutes walk from the station. In a side street so fairly quiet. There is a restaurant but it is only open part of the week and is on the pricey side so you wouldn't want to eat there every night. Breakfast - plenty of choice and you can have eggs cooked to order.

Very nice and attentive staff, particularly the one at the breakfast room. The breakfast itself was very nice and enjoyable for a 3 stars hotel. The room very clean, with a desk in case someone needs to work and also more plugs than I've seen in other hotels, even though some were a bit hidden and hard to find at first. The location of the hotel is one of the best, as it's at only 4 minutes away from the bus terminal taking you anywhere else, including the train station, reachable in 5 minutes by bus if you don't feel like walking 15 to 20 minutes.

We booked economy room for 55 eur but upgraded to normal double room looking to the inner courtyard. It was clean, comfy. Breakfast was small but really good quality as compared to other similars we stayed. The guy at the reception is freakingly funny and helpful! We just parked the car at the front street, for 3eur/day ticket given by him.

The hotel is located in great area close to everything, city centre or the beach, staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet was very simple but definately enough for a short stay.

For this type of family holiday, we look for a safe space in a convenient location, a bed, a shower, a breakfast. This hotel delivers up to our expectations
