This is a modern hotel with large, comfortable, clean rooms. The room had a small fridge; there was no coffee maker in the room. It was an easy 15 minute walk from the airport to the hotel, but they offer a free airport shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. All staff were friendly and helpful. Vanessa was kind enough to check me in a little early - much appreciated. She explained dinner options and how to reach downtown via the metro. I'm sorry I have forgotten the name of the gentleman (it started with 'M') who was at the front desk and drove the shuttle. He was friendly, helpful, efficient. Servers at the restaurant were also very helpful The Verdes Metro stop is an easy 5 minute walk away, from which the metro can be taken to get downtown in about 30 minutes. There are only a few restaurants within walking distance, but I ate at a gem (Tomar de Sal) that was about a 10 minute walk away.

Great hotel convenient for the airport! Pick up from airport was quick (it’s only a few minutes drive) & drop off no problem. The staff at this hotel are the most polite & helpful we came across in Porto. The hotel is stylish & smart. The food is good, although they had run out of a few things. Breakfast was fine with high quality coffee machine (Nespresso) etc. breakfast starts at 3:30am! The roof top pool is nice to have, view is a bit industrial. There’s no bar up there yet. The family room was clean, modern & spacious with 2 large comfortable beds. We had a view of the corn field. There was not noise at night although I don’t think the rooms are sound proof. Lots of cabin crew were staying here so must be a favourite airport hotel!

The room was very clean and fresh. The shower was spacious and the rain shower-head felt so good after traveling. The hotel bar is lovely, great drinks and food. The seating areas are spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly, welcoming and spoke English well. The free shuttle to and from the airport was very appreciated.

I stayed one night due to its close proximity ( 4 minute free shuttle ride) to the airport. I would stay again the staff were terrific. The hotel is clean , modern , has a rooftop pool if a little small, unfortunately it was too windy and cold to use but I did really enjoy the outside space. My room was spotless, large big bathroom with great shower. Bed was super comfortable. Fridge in room always a plus. Had evening meal that was nice and staff were lovely . I was amazed at the night front desk that not only gave me a wake up call but actually drove me to the airport , the guy was lovely, incredible hard working and went the extra mile for customer service, very professional. Two things the Hotel could improve upon and thats a kettle or coffee facilities in room as many flights like mine are a 03.00 am start and two coming in the oposite direction and arriving noonish would be a good time to check in, 15.00 though normal for a city hotel in way too late for an airport hotel. Arriving on a red eye flight you want to catch up, shower, snooze and start the day, your business day is over if you cant get into your room till 15.00. The employees throughout were incredible at service, friendly and professional.

I thought the hotel was new as it was so clean and modern. Our dinner was wonderful on arrival. The room was amazing with a large screen tv, twin beds as requested and super modern bathroom with spacious shower. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, We were offered a shuttle to the airport at 4.00am and the driver was beautiful and very friendly even at that time in the morning.

Hotel Torre Mar is modern, clean and comfortable. Good location for drivers, on the national road just north of Povoa de Varzim. There are restaurants, including one excellent seafood restaurant close by. A very good breakfast buffet is available every morning.

The staff were always helpful and friendly in my English or my attempts at portuguese. Breakfast on the roof was spectacular, great variety and fresh. Parking was available on site, clean rooms good beds, rooms looked recently renovated. Would definitely spend time there again. Muito obrigado.

The view from the room was beautiful, with a direct and unobstructed view of the ocean — a great way to wake up each morning. The food at the hotel was very good as well; both lunch and dinner were served as buffets with plenty of variety, and the breakfast buffet also offered a wide selection. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The spa area was another highlight: it was modern, clean, and very well organized, making the experience relaxing and enjoyable.

The room was decent. The decor is very dated, but was spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable, with several spare pillows and blankets. Continental breakfast was fresh and tasty, although a bit monotonous. Staff were friendly and spoke reasonable amount of English.

This was the first hotel for our group that was walking the "Camino de Santiago". Very helpful front desk staff (holding luggage, etc). The jacuzzi was very awesome! The group had an excellent meal at the restaurant.

Walking the Camino, we got there early, however, they happily let us in. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, and our balcony overlooked the river Ave. The spa and restaurant were perfect. Fantastic hotel, that I look forward to revising.

every was (near) perfect, the restaurant one of the best I've ever visited, with a relaxing atmosphere, nice friendly staff, and foremost: delicious food. Facilities superb, except a disfunction in the gym.

Perfect location facing the river in the middle of a pine tree forest. You can reach a pretty isolated sand beach area after walking not more than 5 minutes. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the common areas include a very nice swimming pool and a lovely garden area with a wood deck overlooking the river. The staff is very friendly and relaxed. Breakfast is good and the wifi connection is overall very good.

Really cute boutique hotel with delicious dinner and breakfast. It is on the small side with lots of outdoor space, right on the water. Beaches are very close (we were there in winter so we did not go to the beach). The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Set near the mouth of a river estuary, the combination of location and friendly helpful staff was a winner for us. As motorbikers, the ability to park securely outside our room was greatly appreciated. The restaurant served delicious food and either sitting by the log fire or by the panoramic window overlooking the estuary was a real treat. With the Atlantic Ocean only a few minutes walk away, we were able to enjoy much of what nature has to offer in this stunning part of Portugal.

Good location. And private parking. The host was lovely and very friendly. The property has a few issues but it didn’t affect our stay too much. The sofa bed is only good for one person as it’s quite uncomfortable but the double bed was very comfortable. We couldn’t use the cooker and the washing machine at the same times as it kept tripping the electric. There is a hot tub advertised but there isn’t one and the jacuzzi bath didn’t work. No aircon which could be an issue in the summer.

The host Fernanda is fantastic: super friendly and helpful, the apartment was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Location is great, right near the beach and close to many restaurants. One can hear the waves in the ocean. Also near (say, 150m) a nice grocery store (Continente) with an ATM inside (attention: max withdrawal 200 EUR). The apartment has underground parking. The host stocks the apartment well: plenty of towels, and lots of toilet paper (6 rolls in our case, whereas many other places supply only one). Kitchen has toaster, kettle and capsule coffee machine.

The property is beautiful. It is clean and comfortable, including cozy furnishings. The kitchen is fully equipped and the location is perfect. Easy check-in processes and responsive hosts add convenience and peace of mind. Overall, the apartment is worth the value. Ps. The host is amazing and wonderful . She even gave us a ride from the airport. I would love to come back to this place in the future .

It was a lovely stay at this apartment. For a couple it was just perfect size. There was a sofabed for both of us to watch tv comfortably. The garage was an unexpected plus even though there was plenty spaces on the street still it feels reassuring the rented car was safe. Supermarket is close by and all sorts of restaurants too including Mcdonalds. We even found a local pub where beer cost 2.50 EUR. The check out by 12 is very convenient and check-in is not Restricted to any hour.

We were five people staying in this accommodation for six days, and we were all simply exited. I have never seen such a beautiful accommodation that is so well-maintained and with so much attention to detail in the entire setup. The house, the property, and the pool were very spacious, and we had a great time there. Everything is very private, allowing you to truly relax and enjoy a wonderful time with your group or family. The host, Ana, is incredibly friendly, as are her parents, and she was always there for us. Additionally, they were very flexible with our check-in and check-out times, as some of our flights were quite late. We can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation and would return anytime because it was simply wonderful. It took us about 20 minutes to get there from the airport, and you could take an Uber to Porto, arriving in the city within 35 to 40 minutes. This was all perfectly fine. There was a small supermarket on the main road below the accommodation where you could buy the essentials. The beach was also not far away by Uber. Thank you very much, Ana, and also to your family. We felt very comfortable with you.

The location is handy to get to the airport if you have an early flight. There is also a restaurant run by the owners on the ground floor that serves great, home cooked evening meals.

Wanted a reasonably priced hotel for a week as we were attending a nearby wedding. This hotel was immaculate, so clean, nice sized rooms, maid service daily and super air conditioning. The only small complaint we had was breakfast,… nothing wrong with the food, it was just tables were not cleared enough, we ended up clearing a table ourselves most days and they ran out of clean bowls, glasses & plates, ended up having cereal out of a coffee cup one morning! Other than that, it is so convenient for the beach, just a short walk away and plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a super little supermarket literally next door, so handy and a fabulous bakers too. All in all we had a great time at this hotel 🙂

The hotel is ran by family. Sergio was one of them. Very Friendly and helpful. Loan me a bicycle for my camino. Drive me to restaurants, villa mendo for dinner and fetch me back. Btw, its a good restaurant!! Always greeted with smile and ready to help. Made me feel cosy, safe and like at home. Rooms and towels were change everyday. Toilet wash everyday! The proprietors and staff were so kind and welcoming. The room was comfortable and sparkling clean. I was offered a sandwich and coffee in the evening, which I gratefully accepted, as I was very tired after a long day on the Camino. Sitting on the front porch with these refreshments was so peaceful and relaxing. In the morning, the buffet was very filling and varied. This hotel is not only a great bargain, but one I consider exceptional! There was no problem leaving my luggage in the morning for the transport company. The day of my arrival, I walked 7 miles on the litoral by the ocean from Vila do Conde and then veered off through dirt roads and farming community to reach Route 13, requiring a 15 min walk on a busy 2 lane roadway, but this posed no problem. I'm a senior solo female traveler. Do yourself the favor and give Hotel Contriz a try! They take great pride in what they do, and it shows!

Clean spacious room with a firm bed. Excellent bathroom with modern shower with lots of pressure. Extremely helpful staff that is very friendly to pilgrims. The included breakfast is outstanding. The flatscreen has streaming TV. The host provided us with a short ride back to the Camino.

We found this hotel to be excellent quality for the price. The man at the front desk was very friendly and spoke very good English. He gave us good advice about nearby restaurants and places to see. The room was big, with a big bathroom, and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. The parking lot is quite spacious so you can find parking no matter what time you arrive. Breakfast was excellent and free. If I ever return to this area, I would go back.

Friendly staff. Offered to drive us 400m to restaurant for dinner or order us a takeaway which is what we had. The food was very good. They also have facilities to give guests snacks as well if required. The lovely man at reception took us to the start of the track in the morning. Had a lovely free breakfast . It's a great hotel and feels and looks new. Everything is very clean from the reception, corridors, room, breakfast area. The room was very good (and quiet!!) Comfortable bed, heated, a good shower/toilet with everything needed. Fast WiFi. The breakfast is awesome and well worth the asking price. You have everything there, the breakfast area itself it's very bright with outdoor seating. The staff is very smiling. Check out until noon. We arrived late evening at the hotel. This was not a problem. We found our room easily after instructions from reception. Our room was clean, modern and very nice. The bed was very comfortable, the shower amazing. We had everything we needed in our room. The buffet breakfast was delicious. There was a wide choice from cereals, fruit, meat, cheese and also hot food if you so desired.

Great location between the city center and the train station. The bus station is about 15 min walk. In the city center you can find several restaurants, cafés and bars as well as other commercial areas. The room was large, comfortable and pretty quiet except for noisy guests when entering the building! Breakfast was very good. Staff was nice, they stored my backpack since I arrived early. Good wifi.

The all staff is really courteous, positive, and smiling. The rooms are generally spacious and comfortable. The bed is also comfortable. The large bathrooms are beautiful and clean. You will be greeted with a welcome drink. In the room, you also have a coffee machine and a bottle of water provided daily. The hotel is very close to the train station of this beautiful city, and it's within a pleasant walking distance. The city itself has excellent train connections with the magnificent Porto.

Plenty of choice for the continental breakfast. The beds very comfortable, and the mini bar with tea/ coffee facilities much appreciated. Loved having the use of the pool and spa, and the spa treatments were a treat. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The location was very convenient - near beach, metro and buses, and best fish restaurants.

This is the second time we stay in Eurostar Matosinhos as a family and we love it. It is a comfortable hotel that punches above its weight. Close to the beach and located in a street with a lot of restaurants, the hotel is quiet and functional. I find the bedrooms quite comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast has a good variety of tasty options with increasing local products. The pool is very inviting and just the right temperature. The Spa has outstanding staff - exceptionally knowledgable.

It was an amazing holiday, I got free upgrade of my room for my Birthday and ocean view on the top door. Staff is amazing, polite, help with any questions. Breakfasts were delicious, food choice is amazing. Ocean is 2 min from the hotel and there are a lot seafood restaurants on the street where’s the hotel situated. No noise, good sound insulation. Room was very clean and sparkled after day-to-day cleaning. I definitely liked this hotel.

Hotel is close enough to walk to, if you are traveling light, but a shuttle is available. The staff , particularly Edwardo the manager was welcoming and entertaining! The restaurant in the hotel was also a lovely surprise. The shower in the room is very spacious. The bed a bit firm - property may not wow you from the outside but the warmth from the staff -clean comfortable rooms bar and a restaurant is all we needed.

Rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. The shower is absurdly luxurious and immediately makes you forget all the aches and pains of a long day of travel and sightseeing. The location next to the airport is convenient for flying out of Porto, and the free hotel shuttle to and from the airport is very helpful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were too firm for my preference, but I slept fine nonetheless. The bathroom is spacious, and the shower worked well. The AC worked really well. For flying into Porto to spend time in the city, it is better to stay closer to the city center as it would take almost an hour by public transit or 30 minutes by taxi/Uber to get to the city center from this hotel. (We were flying home from Porto, so this hotel worked perfectly for that purpose.)

We decided to stay at this hotel for our last night in Porto, as it’s conveniently located near the airport, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable, with a great shower and excellent amenities. The complimentary shuttle service to return our rental car and to the airport was a real plus, and the staff provided outstanding service throughout our stay. We also enjoyed a very good dinner at the hotel restaurant. Overall, we were very comfortable — it was the perfect way to wrap up our trip and get ready for our return to Canada. Highly recommended!

The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was big, with large comfy beds and a large shower. It was very clean and well sound proofed as it was very close to the airport. We could have walked to the terminal but there was a very convenient shuttle bus which made life easy. Breakfast was varied and it was nice to have freshly squeezed orange juice as an option.

Very clean and comfortable room with a lovely view of the river. Fantastic big bed and powerful shower. Free bottle of water and coffee for machine was topped up every day. Loved that they are trying to be eco friendly with paper liners in waste bins and reusable glass bottles for water. We used the indoor pool every day. It was never busy and when weather allowed we always managed to get a sunbed outside in the garden. Well designed modern hotel in a good location within walking distance of all the restaurants and beaches.

This was a great find a short walk off the Camino. The sweet girl at the front desk was so kind and helpful and welcoming. The bartender/waiter was also super nice and attentive. There is a restaurant/bar and interesting little shop in the hotel. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. We didn't use the pool or gym as we were tired but they looked very inviting if we had more time there. This hotel deserves to be a 10 star place and I definitely would return here.
