This is a lovely small hotel with just a few rooms, well placed in the old part of Valparaiso known as Cerro Alegro. Our room was on the 2nd floor at the top and was large with a jacuzzi bath and stunning views of the sea from it's terrace. Breakfast was a little bit limited but fresh. Easy walking distance to lits of nice restaurants, bars and local craft shops.

A true gem. We love it. The staff was amazing. Got upgraded to a spacious room with a balcony overlooking the city. Best view in town. Much better than many of the other views from restaurants and cafes. Staff very helpful and charming. Amazing sunrise views and beautiful tranquil evenings. I would come back any time. Made our Valparaiso all the more enjoyable and fun. Thank you 🙏

Lovely hotel in central location. Pablo the manager was really friendly and helpful and made our stay. He gave us excellent recommendations on restaurants and sightseeing. The location is perfect because it’s a few minutes walk from good restaurants and the quirky streets full of street art. We had a Seaview room with balcony which was the highlight. We sat on the balcony drinking local wine and enjoying the city below. We also had breakfast on the dining room balcony which was beautiful and a lovely way to end our holiday. Highly recommend and thank you to Pablo for making us feel welcome.

I almost stayed at another hotel, but so glad i booked Alcontraluz. I believe the space is two houses combined, and is a lovely refuge with lots of welcoming and tastefully decorated spaces to sit and enjoy a bit of peace. I had a room with a great view of the street and mountains, then across the hall was a terrace with beautiful view of the ocean and city. Win-win! Great location with restaurants, shops, cafés all close by, and of course, all the street art the city is famous for. *Very*comfortable bed and pillows to sink into. Best i experienced during my whole time in Chile. Water/tea/coffee available all day, breakfast served until noon! Karin was very friendly, with great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Pablo treated us to a moment of generosity and conversation that was really special. There was another woman in the evenings who was nice too. Thank you all for your professionalism and understanding of hospitality!

I loved to stay at this place. Karim, Pablo and the rest of the personal were professional, friendly and helped me with everything I needed. The hotel is set in a typical victorian mansion from Valparaiso and it's located in the heart of the historical district. It has breathtaking views to the sea and the cerro from the rooms, terraces, and patios. There are a lot o common spaces indoor and outdoor were you can have your breakfast, work, or chill out. The coziness of the place makes it perfect for digital nomads, artists, or couples looking for an inspiring place. The breakfast is home made and delicious and you can enjoy an expresso or a cup of tea at any time when you stay for working while enjoying the bests views of Valparaiso. Another this that is important if you are visiting Valparaiso in winter is that the hotel has central heating.

They enjoyed their breakfast, and the view from their rooms was breathtaking; they could hear the waves breaking on the shore. The place was clean, and they had everything they needed to spend a comfortable weekend away. Totally recommendable!

They have a fantastic ocean view, very welcoming and eco-friendly. Playa La Boca is a great place for beginner surfers too. They have multiple outdoor spaces with ocean views. I would only recommend some more cushions on the outdoor searing and that Marley doesnt bark before 9am, but he is a sweet dog.

The location was perfect and beautiful. The rooms were spotless, very comfortable. The host family was great!! Breakfast to your door in the morning!

The owners were super helpful and accomodating. The atmosphere was inviting and peaceful. The views from the terrace are fantastic.

The location was excellent, very close to the beach. The staff were very helpful with everything we needed. The room was comfortable. The place fitted perfectly for our weekend stay.

Installations was a little bit old, we could see some ants in the room. When we booked, it said there was a laundry service but finally it wasn't true but they still tried to accommodate us and did our laundry. The service was really good. For a 2 star hotel, it is really good but it was the same price as some 4 stars hotels.

Breakfast was served to us and included fresh scrambled eggs, hot rolls, avocado, yogurt. Very good and in a high ceiling old dining room with views of the harbor. Location was excellent and the old mansion is beatiful. Very quiet at night, room 1 on top floor was spacious and quiet. Charming hotel. Great staff. Would stay again.

The location is perfect and the view is incredible. The staff was very helpful and available at all hours. Although they didn't speak perfect english they tried their best and we could make it work. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully served in a wonderful little dining room.

The hotel is a beautiful historic house in a central location in the historic area of Valparaiso. The room and hotel faciflties were very comfortable and full of character. A tasty breakfast was served in the dining area or outside terrace with views over Valparaiso Harbour.

Very nice and charming hotel. I paid a few extra dollars and got the room on the top floor with an amazing view of the ocean and Vina del Mar. The room had wood beams and had an old European feel to it. The jacuzzi tub was pretty nice as well but it took forever to fill up and the water took a long time to get hot (common in Chile). While the room was charming and quaint, the ceiling sloped on both sides so I had to bend down when walking on the sides of the room. The breakfast buffet left a lot to desire as well. All they had was white toast, tea, juice, instant coffee (bleh!), ham and salami, and a bit of cheese. But it was free, so I guess I can't complain that much. For the price, the hotel was nice. Not sure if I'd stay again though.

The area can get noisy on Saturday night but is safe and the views from the hotel are breathtaking and worth the trip. The room was spacious, beautiful and clean, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom equipment and towels showed their age but everything was clean and functional (wait a minute or so after cold nights for the hot water to flow). Breakfast was excellent, the staff caring and attentive; gave the hotel a cozy and homey feel. Very memorable stay in the best way possible, highly recommended.

This gorgeous Victorian style refurbished hotel was a dream to stay in. Room was spacious, clean, full of amenities and had the most amazing view of the city. Room service was also a plus. The location was near a street market as well as a few restaurants and some live music. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient with me and my terrible Spanish. Fernando in particular was very welcoming and always went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and happy. Would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

it was the most perfect location (best bars, cafes and restaurants only minutes walk away) and such a charming building. Fernando was so welcoming and helpful - great tip offs. Easy to catch the vernacular down to a wonderful local live music venue that I would highly recommend. Breakfast was gorgeous with those incredible views of the water and all the colourful buildings on the hill. I’d recommend getting an Uber to the vernacular (Cummings st?), to get there, then just riding that up to get to hotel with luggage, as hotel is at the doorstep of the vernacular stop (20 metres). thanks so much Fernando - was a very special experience. ❤️

The staff were amazing and wonderful. The room was clean and fresh. The view was spectacular. The location was perfect - right in the heart of the arts district. The Free Breakfast was delicious and generous. We felt very well taken care of.

Overall we had a really nice stay at Casa Vander. Location was great in terms of walkability, as it is super central and very close to great restaurants and right behind one of the many funiculars in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions, and the included breakfast was simple but delicious. The only drawback to the location was that because it's so central, it gets very loud in the weekends with people partying below. The hotel itself is old and very charming but it could use some fixes and upgrades. The bathroom door didn't close properly, for example, and it's just a few feet from the bed, so not ideal. Still, had a great time though, so unless you're looking for a 5-star hotel, I would recommend this as a great funky place to spend a few days.

The breakfast was excellent. Very good coffee, cut up fruit that has a great variety of fruits in it, boiled farm eggs, a bread basket, some meat and cheese slices, and cake! They also had mugs so you could bring coffee to your room before breakfast. The garden was a beautiful private oasis in a location very convenient for walking around the city. The bed was comfortable, the wifi worked well, and the owners and staff were welcoming and delightful. When checking in, they brought us to a table in the garden with a complementary beverage to complete the check-in process. The shower was very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Valparaiso.

Breakfast is phenomenal, lovely homemade jams and fresh salads and bread and eggs. The fresh juice in particular is incredible. The staff were SO friendly and supportive - they remembered my name from day 1 - which made me remember just how much smaller details like that matter and make you feel comfortable. The location is amazing, so well positioned - right in Cerro Concepcion - one of the main hills in Valparaiso. It's been a long time since I've felt this way about a hotel - it is luxurious and comfy, with incredible people there to offer some comfort to someone who was travelling solo and just not in the best headspace.

I loved everything about AYCA La Flora Boutique Hotel.My room was very spacious and serviced daily.Sleep quality was excellent....Breakfast each morning was amazing-a great variety of food was served and this was more than enough to set me up for the day....Location was perfect-a short walk to Plaza Sotomayor...I loved the personal touches in the room-free water flask,etc. . .The staff really made my stay enjoyable.I want to thank my hosts Ann and Alex especially but also Jonathan,Benjamin and Baz....This is a delightful place to stay-affordable,convenient and very welcoming...Top marks....10 out of 10.

Everything, -fabulous gardens, excellent location- could walk every or easy walk to transport. Near shops and restaurants. The staff were so friendly and helpful- anything to enhance your stay. Hot and cold Water available all the time. Multiple gardens to have a drink and enjoy the view. Delicious breakfast. The hotel was spotless-I felt were were staying in a home with friends. Such a pleasant environment to relax. Cannot say enough positives about the staff though.

The hotel is beautifully located on the shore with great views on the ocean. The building is well maintained, modern and seems prestigous. The staff was always smiling and obliging- starting from the porters and front desk staff to room maids and waiters. All these members of staff made our stay a nice and exceptional experience. At the check-in we were upgraded and were given a room with a ocean view. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Everything spotlessly clean. We also liked the breakfast with wide variety of good quality products. I strongly recommend Farewell bar - they make great coctails.

My husband and I had a great getaway at this hotel. The view from our room was amazing and the whole time we felt like we were on a cruise ship. Miguel checked us in and out, and the customer service was really good. We liked that they have a restaurant on the terrace and an indoor restaurant for dinner. The bar also has music on weekends and great drinks. The beach is right next-door and it is a great place to view the sunset. Cap Duval Restaurant is also within walking distance. We would stay here again!

The room was beautiful, large and comfortable, overlooking the Pacific. It was wonderful to watch the sunset from the balcony and to hear the sound of the ocean at night. The bellboy who welcomed us to the hotel and showed us how to access the parking garage was very friendly and helpful and his grasp of English was so good he was able to detect that our accent was not American and was interested to know where we came from. (Scotland) The location on the seafront was perfect for walking along the promenade and seeing the life of the town. Breakfast was excellent and the view from the dining room was wonderful. We drove about an hour from the hotel to a beautiful deserted beach at Quintay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. . The rooms are spacious and have a great view of the ocean with floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom is also spacious with a separate walk-in shower. Did not have breakfast so can't comment. Even though there was a big work conference going on we were spared the disturbance because they thankfully put on us on a different floor away from the bar noise.

My wife and I arrived to the hotel the day before the onset of the Vina del Mar music festival. We don't have anything to do with the entertainment industry, nonetheless, we were received very well. The room had an excellent balcony with ocean view. Room was very nice, clean. The best part of the hotel are the team members, who are kind, helpful and go out of their way to help their guest. In the morning I got late to breakfast, nonetheless the mature gentleman who greeted us told me there was no problem and provided breakfast for me. All and all we had a great experience.

My room had a view of the streets below and lights at night and was large in a Victorian style. If you're looking for modern book elsewhere. But if you love historic buildings, this is your spot. Property is an old Victorian home from the area's golden era in the late 19th century now converted to B & B Staff is very helpful. No habla Ingles. Value here is excellent.

Small breakfast, but was enough to start our day. Quiet place.

It was very comfortable and had character. The rooms were well furnished and the art work in the common rooms was tasteful and interesting. The beds were great. Breakfast was very good. My room had a desk and chair which was great for work. My friends did not so you should request that if important. The Wi-Fi was also good

The room was spotless upon arrival and cleaned daily — a nice touch, especially since many hotels in Europe no longer offer daily housekeeping. My room also had a small desk with a power outlet, perfect for setting up my laptop. Wi-Fi worked reliably throughout my stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is situated on a quiet street in a very nice, and central area, and the colonial style of the building and its furnishing and decoration are beautiful. Such a comfy bed, and a lovely spacious bathroom. Good selection for breakfast. Everything spotlessly clean. Rosa and her team are the best! So welcoming, friendly and helpful. They arranged transfers for us, gave us great advice on places to visit, and spent a lot of time arranging car hire for us on a last minute request. They really could not have done more to make our stay in Valparaiso so memorable.

Very small hotel (9 rooms) in central location in Cerro Alegre, friendly staff, beautiful terrace with ocean view to sit and relax for breakfast or in the afternoon. Self serve Honor Bar with reasonable prices. Simple but ample breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order. Our spacious room #4 had a high ceiling and huge windows overlooking the port and city. Lovely breezes with the window open (alas, had to keep windows closed at night due to bugs). Super soft sheets and comfortable bed. My only issue is no washcloths provided, although that may be the custom in Chile as our hotel in Santiago also does not provide them. If I’d know in advance (as I did when traveling to Spain - thank you Rick Steves) I would have brought shower poufs from home!

We stayed in the Zero hotel for Christmas. The hotel is really nice based in an old calonial building with high ceilings, large windows, spacious rooms and it has lots of character. It is very clean and well presented/renovated. The terrace area is super with great views and plenty of seating and tables to relax and chill. The staff were excellent, very friendly and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had an issue with our hire car and they helped us get it sorted locally. Parking is secure and off the road. Valparasio is an interesting place, for sure it was a major port in its time but the old town is challenged now and it is very hilly, up out of the lower port town it is colourful and vibrant, with cool bars and restaurants, Zero Hotel is well located to enjoy the nicer areas of the town. Would stay there again if in Valparasio and highly recommended.

The room was spacious with huge windows and amazing views. The staff was mostly really friendly and helpful. It is a very peaceful, spa-like environment, I found it extremely relaxing, and I liked knowing that I was staying at a place that cared about its environmental impact. The location is great- lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby.

Perfect location, for restaurants, visiting the street art, wondering the quirky, interesting alleyways of Valpairiso. We travelled with a (hire) car and parked in the street safely outside the hotel, although they do have a small parking garage which you could book and pay for if required. The view from the hotel was perfect. The tiered immaculate gardens were inspirational. The staff were helpful and available when needed. On our first night we were so exhausted by a long trip from the wine valleys that we ate a takeaway in the gardens of the hotel and the staff were very accommodating with cutlery. We slept soundly in very comfortable sheets and beds, with a perfect view to wake up in the morning. This is a converted grand townhouse, the Dutch ambassador’s house, so with high ceilings and big windows in our room.

Loved my stay at Novotel in Vina Del Mar. As a solo traveler it was a great spot to stay as I felt safe walking around. The staff was attentive and helpful. The room was clean and quiet, and the pool was the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon day in the sun.

The location was absolutely perfect, making it easy to explore the area. The rooms were spacious, modern, and very clean, with parking space included, which was a great convenience. There’s also a nice lunch restaurant on-site, and the breakfast offered a good variety.

The location was great with parking but you can walk to many nearby places. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was great on location. The only problem was the wifi was down for a few hours but that an exception.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived until to the time we checked out the team were incredible. They were so welcoming, warm, accomodating and gave some great recomendations on things to see and do, restaurants to dine in and bars to visit. They really made our experience so special and we will forever have great memories of staying there. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has great view of the city and is perfectly located in the old district. Our room was perfect and the breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented each morning. The location is perfect and everything (including bars restaurants, sights, public transport links etc.) is within a short walk of the hotel. Beautiful old colonial building in a great location. Inside the attention to detail was second to none and so stylish. The room was beautiful with a great view and private balcony. There was central heating which was needed as it was a little chilly at night. The bed was very comfortable and shower good. We loved the fact they provided bottles of water, which we needed. The breakfast was amazing, all freshly prepared and plentiful and the hotel reception were very helpful, friendly and attentive We used the pool and incredible wooden hot tub the evening we arrived…absolutely amazing!

Newly renovated historical mansion in a great location. Room with characters and some with panoramic sea view. Staffs are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Very good breakfast. Easy access to major sites. A local restaurant named Circular right in front of the Hotel had tasty fresh seafood. Hotel also arranged our transportation to cruse dock-price is way lower than Uber with new van and excellent driver. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone travel to Valparaíso.

This is a gem. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with incredible views of the city/mountains and the sea. Loved the indoor spa pool, breakfast, and the super warm, friendly staff always ready to help with a dinner recommendation, calling a cab, or with a story about a local sight. I'm an early riser and avid coffee drinker, and the amazing crew at Astoreca made sure to bring me coffee to my room, every morning. It was divine. Highly recommend. Can't wait to be back!

We had a very nice stay here. Our only complaint was the construction going on outside our room. Once that is done, I think it will be great. The front desk help (especially Eduardo) was great. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Room was spacious and clean, and the bedding was great. The recommendations we got for places to go for dinner were great. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

Friendly team, excellent location, and great room! We went to a country music show, and it was worth it. Nice experience. Breakfast was OK. The room has a nice view of a mini forest. I would certainly recommend it.

The place is amazing, great people and great SPA, the breakfast buffet is very variable, many choices to select. The big garden us just great. Surely I will return very soon. Totally recomended for more than one night.

Staff were friendly, attentive and efficient...very welcoming. View from the room was INCREDIBLE! We saw sea otters numerous times as well as a variety of sea birds. Room was a good size and well-maintained. Breakfast each day had an excellent selection and was fresh and regularly replenished. Could not fault hospitality team...wonderful.

Comfortable rooms, but they vary a lot in size. They all have amazing views of the ocean and you can see all kinds of life from the windows. I love eating on the outdoor deck, but they were quite understaffed a few nights and the service was slow. The rooftop has a hot tub and a pool and lots of areas to lay out. The indoor pool is heated (bring a swim cap, it is mandatory). This place is an oasis, with beautiful views and friendly staff. The towels are poor quality and the rooms are rather small. I only hope that switching to Choice hotel chain will not bring down the quality of what has always been a great relaxing vacation spot.

The view and location at this property are unparalleled and the stay is a unique experience. This is definitely where I will stay again if I come back To this area. Staff is super attentive, restaurant is great, spa is nice, rooms are nice and clean and a view of a lifetime in a rock and bird sanctuary.

The hotel is located right on the ocean, all rooms have a magnificent view, the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, the shower was great. The architecture and interior decor is unique and beautiful. Breakfast was excellent and the service by Angela was impeccable and very friendly

The location of the hotel is perfect, just seconds away from Acapulco Beach, where there are no warnings not to swim and the sea is relatively calm. Sadly for me, the water is much too cold to swim in Vina del Mar. The neighbourhood nearby is really nice, with many bars and restaurants, and the large Marina Mall is about a 15 minute walk away. I feel bad not giving 5 stars but in one of the friendliest countries I have ever visited, this hotel stood out as the one I visited which felt very impersonal. There was no welcome at the door when I arrived, and save for the man who checked me out who was incredibly friendly and talkative, you were barely even acknowledged by anyone here. Rooms are very nice but there are no coffee making facilities and you only get free water on your first night, again unlike the other hotels I visited on my trip. There was one day we were told we would have no hot water from 10am to 7pm, so I avoided going to the beach that day, and another where WiFi and TV were turned off after 10pm, all without compensation. Not what you'd expect from a higher end hotel. I think this could easily be 5 stars if it were friendlier, coffee and water were offered and they could somehow avoid the maintenance issues, or at least offer some form of compensation.

We just stayed at the Pullman for 4 nights and had a wonderful visit! From the minute we arrived, we were welcomed by the outstanding front desk/lobby staff. They assisted with our parking to make our check-in seamless. They were also helpful in getting our two rooms close together which we appreciated very much. The bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff were exceptional. A special thank you to Camila and Lucas for taking the time to help us locate a store with local handcrafts, and their assistance to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is located in a perfect location and our rooms had a wonderful view of the ocean. The room/bathrooms were so comfortable and perfectly outfitted! All around a great visit!

This hotel is fantastic, the rooms are comfortable and clean, is located near to the beach and close to a variety of restaurants, the breakfast also is very complete, and the pool and view from the rooftop was perfect for our family trip.

The terrace is lovely, and you can enjoy drinks while lying by the pool, which is actually warm! The view from the terrace is nice as well. The rooms are cozy, good hot water, the WiFi is strong and you can cast from your phone to the TV. We have stayed here twice, and I don't think I could stay anywhere else. There is valet for your car, which is a really good service. The check in process is a bit slow, but not bad. The breakfast was really nice as well.

The view of the Bay/water front was beautiful. But if you were looking for the beach you need to go further up or down the coast. The hotel is clean, staff very friendly and the breakfast was more than just coffee & bread. You had fruit, egg, sausage, pastries and so much more to eat. This area was very walkable. As you walked the city the dining options were plentiful from Pizza to Chinese to local dining. Public transportation was easily found. The only disappointing aspect of the city was the Graffiti that was everywhere. But we enjoyed our time in Valparaiso.

Big and comfortable room with nice view. Good breakfast. In the evening, the reataurant was empty, but the friendly waiter served us a great dinner. Easy walk to the central parts of the city.

The people at the front desk were very helpful when I asked where to find things I absolutely loved the location. I can't imagine any hotel having a better location in this city. The view of the ships from my room was amazing. There was I fairly large grocery store one block away! I went there all the time. There were restaurants and a nice park within three blocks. Ice cream cones! Pastry shops! I was also very close to the pier. I kept taking taxis places and soon I learned that a lot of the places I wanted to go were within four or five blocks!. Also my room had a wonderful bathtub! There was only one problem and that was that my debit card did not work when I got there. I used my debit card probably 30 times on my trip around South America and this was the only place where my debit card did not work no matter how hard they tried. Then they told me because I wasn't paying with US dollars I was going to be taxed quite a bit higher. That was frustrating because how was I to get US dollars when I had been traveling for so long??. I really think the problem was the hotels and not my problem. I called my bank and they said there was no problem on their end. I really think they should have paid that tax out of their own pockets rather than mine because they clearly had a faulty machine.

Very clean and well maintained.staff were very helpful and willing to assist, and the breakfast and dinning facilities were excellent.

Parking in the garage. Everything is within walking distance. Close to the metro station. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Good restaurant and rich breakfast. Ideal for travelers with a rental car.

Although a bit dated, the hotel has good facilities. The apartment with a sea and pool view was fantastic and of a good size for the 8 of us. We would have loved to stay more days. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi and sauna (they have to be booked in advance though).

The location of this hotel is great -- walking distance to all the main attractions and right on top of the metro station. Breakfast was limited but tasty. It can be quite busy, though, and on one of the days, the bread baskets and cheeses were all empty and we had to wait for more to be prepared. What really made our stay special, though, was the kind staff. During checkin, we were upgraded to a room with a view of the port and WOW. If you are able to get a room overlooking the water, you should because it is incredible.

Overall very basic for the priced paid. Location was good to view the fireworks on new years, but the prime to go with stay for New Year’s Eve was not worth it. Beds were too soft. Only two towels and a floor math in the bedroom. Only a tv, safe and one chair. Very, very basic. Also, food selection small only pizza and h and cheese sandwiches to select from for dinner. If omit staying for a day the this hotel is close to the safe tourist area… otherwise, spend the money and stay at Viña de Mer… because there is nothing to see on Valparaiso

The hotel has standard rooms — not too big, but not small either. The bathroom is great and very clean. Excellent location, close to the metro and surrounded by many restaurants and bars. The staff are kind and helpful. They stored our luggage before check-in and after check-out at no extra cost. Overall, a good value for money for anyone visiting Valparaíso.

It's in a quiet and select part of town; about 30 minutes walk from the bus station and close to shops and restaurants. The beach is about 15 minutes away. I was a solo traveller and initially I was given a single room, which I thought was quite small and dingy. The hotel was fairly quiet so I was able to change to a larger much better room at no extra cost. This double room had a lovely bathroom with a shower that delivered hot water in moments as opposed to hours! There was a flat screen tv on the wall, a big comfortable double bed, two bedside cabinets, a table, an easy chair and a huge wardrobe. There was no chest of drawers or air-conditioning, but free wi-fi. Breakfast was fairly basic and was served, but varied from day to day. All the staff I met were very friendly, though their English was limited.

We just left after four nights in this hotel and are so glad we stayed there- it was great and the staff all very attentive, polite and helpful. We were told by all the taxis we took it’s the best hotel in town and it is. It’s in a great location in the heart of Vina, we were given two interconnecting rooms as a family of four. The rooms were very clean and large and our beds very comfortable. Pool is on top floor with great views out over the sea. Hearty buffet breakfast was good - only downside was that they were renovating the restaurant so we had to eat breakfast in a windowless conference room and couldn’t have dinner there. Due to reopen again this weekend I believe. A happy family stay.

We loved the large room and the amazing view. It was also walking distance from food and fun and, of course, the beach. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. The room smelled like smoke a bit at night, but opening the balcony door helped with that....but some mosquitoes got in that way. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Enjoy was very comfortable, with a large room, was very quiet and felt very safe. The staff did everything to make our stay memorable and easy. We are English speaking and they were very helpful. The location is very good, and we enjoyed walking in the park and along the waterfront. The hotel is close to a number of restaurants. We walked to Valparaiso on a mild sunny day, and caught the Metro back to Enjoy. I swam in the sea, but the hotel pool is very inviting, with a great view. The breakfast buffet had a good choice of food (cold and hot, healthy and pastries), which suited both of us, and we appreciated the heated milk for coffee

Nice hotel overlooking the ocean. The city's casino is part of the hotel. Rooms are clean, quiet and spacious - though some of the room furnishings may be in need of some refurbishing. Included breakfast buffet was good and fairly extensive. Nicely located and within easy walking distance of beach and restaurants.

The room was lovely with views over the harbour. The room was light and airy and air con.good. The king bed was comfortable. Bathroom was modern and fairly spacious. WiFi worked in the room. It appears that most of the accommodation in Valparaiso is ancient. But it is quaint. If you want modern stay in Vina Del Mar. Nearby restaurants were excellent and well priced. The one below the hotel does and excellent Italian lunch, and a great pisco sour.

Fun place. If you’re into spotless not for you, the stairs are steep and tricky, building needs quite a bit of maintenance. Built in the 1800’s I believe. Folks that run it couldn’t be nicer, the area has a lot of character and very fun, also safe. Great restaurants, pubs and cafes everywhere. Very friendly neighborhood, everyone nice. Good breakfast at the hotel, bed comfy, AC worked good. Excellent place to experience a bit of Chile, wife and I liked it a lot. It’s funky and raw, not neat and conservative.

The old building is full of charm and the view from our room was gorgeous. Breakfast, which was included, was delicious. There is a patio bar with excellent views where one can sit and enjoy the view. The hotel is located in a colorful neighborhood convenient for walking. Super- friendly and accomodaing staff. We'll be back!

The hotel (and the neighborhood) appears to be transitioning from an old to a bohemian type of neighborhood. Area is chock full of excellent restaurants, viewing areas, artist shops and galleries, and accessible by funiculars! Definitely the area to stay in Valparaiso. The hotel itself while is well placed and is a bit worn but that can be its charm or its deficiency--depending on your point-of-view. Breakfast buffet is more than adequate, evening drinks and tapas also very good and convenient if you don't feel like venturing out. The Pasta e Vino restaurant is in the same building of the hotel, read great reviews but didn't try it. Other great restaurants are within easy walking distance. We had to get the right combo of internet network and password before getting success--need patience for this. Staff is overall very courteous (like much of South America) and they will try to help you in most regards. Overall recommended but don't expect a new (say) Hilton hotel with all modern conveniences.

The staff was very nice and very helpful. If I recall correctly, it was formerly a house built in the 1890's. Accordingly, it has a lot of charm. The buffet breakfast is adequate, but not outstanding. The location is very good. It's in the tourist area, with good views and is very close to a funicular which is important since Valparaiso is built on mountain sides. It is close to good restaurants and the Italian restaurant on the ground floor is also very good. The room we had was small, with no where to sit. There are few drawers for clothes and the wardrobe has pegs (not a rod) to hang clothes. The bathroom was large and recently renovated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again despite the issues with the room.

Pontoval B & B is located in an excellent area of Valparaiso. It is a very quiet, SAFE, clean and accessible area. The owners are very charismatic and nice people. Since our arrival they were more than eager to help us enjoy a pleasant stay at their place and an exciting visit to Valpo. The room was big, incredibly clean and tidy and with a breathtaking and fantastic view of Valparaiso (which was what we were looking for). Breakfast was delicious. The best one we had while traveling in Chile. Quality, nutritious and abundant food. The administrator took the time to give us an orientation of the zone, answered our questions and inquietudes, provided us with a good map and even suggested very interesting visits to maximize our vacation. Every day of our stay, the multilingual staff asked us how our sightseeing was going and continued helping us with our plans to ensure that we made the best of every day in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Reñaca and Concón. After visiting Valparaíso and learning what the "touristic" CERROS DE VALPARAÍSO have to offer; I have no doubt we were staying in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the area, away from all the "touristic" hubbub but still accesible when we wanted to experience it. We highly recommend the lodging option!
