The pods are clean cosy and well equipped including a jacuzzi, nestled away on farmland the views are stunning and the owners are lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend , ideal for the three peaks walkers.

Lovely quiet location. Very clean and tidy. Close to two pubs. And just at the bottom the track for kne of the yorkshire 3 peaks. The jacuzzi was lovely and well needed after walking all day. I would highly recommend this place.

Perfect glamping post-Three Peak Challenge - pods were very well equipped (kitchen, shower, TV), with plenty of space. Extra points for the jacuzzi, as that went down a treat after the big hike!

I love the apartment, Jacuzzi was amazing great sitting in it with canopy over it as it was raining and thundering what a beautiful view, floors were spotless and clean, the living area was cosy.

This is a very elegant hotel. Everything screams luxury from the decor in the reception area, bars, restaurants and even the rest rooms (Molton Brown products). Double Rooms are spacious with sittings area, large queen bed and high end bathroom with walk-in shower. Again Molton Brown products & dressing gowns. I will say the lighting either side of the bathroom mirror was excellent for applying makeup. No air conditioning but the large fan in each room is adequate if the weather is warm. No fridge or mini bar but the tea & coffee are Taylor’s of Harrogate. Staff very friendly and most helpful. Beautiful grounds to walk and Aldwark village has a mapped ramble which is just outside the Estate. The hotel is set within a golf course, manicured to perfection with lakes and fountains, seen from the outside terrace with comfy patio seating. Breakfast over looking the golf course was excellent. A menu with all cooked options from full English to Smoked Haddock & poached eggs, there was something for everyone’s taste and all tasted amazing. Options for vegetarian & vegan too. Cold buffet was fresh and unlimited. The leisure & Spa was being refurbished during our stay but if it’s at the same standard as the hotel then it should not disappoint.

We stayed at the hotel for one night in a standard room with a balcony. Check in was really straight forward and we received a very warm welcome. A member of staff collected our bags and delivered them to our room while someone else showed us around the ground floor. We visited the Squadron Bar for coffee and drinks which was wonderful. We also visited the health club which was so quiet and very relaxing. We ordered room service and were really surprised by how quickly the food arrived. It was delicious, very fresh and service was amazing. The vegan chocolate brownie was the best dessert I have ever eaten. Breakfast was great as was the service and check out was very straight forward. We’ve visited the hotel several times but this was the first visit since the refurbishment and change of ownership and the difference is unbelievable. Such an improvement. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back for a visit very soon.

Visited this hotel several times previously for long weekends and we always have a nice break, The hotel is in transition at present the latest being the spa and leisure facility being updated and therefore not in use. Room was good with all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this stature, including a comfy bed. The hotel is set in a brilliant location surrounded by the countryside views that you never get fed up with. Food in the restaurant was also good, breakfast can other be from the Buffett or ordered from the menu. Staff outstanding as ever, pleasant and courteous always happy to help. Bunkers bar which is a separate area for the golfers is also pleasant to have a drink or eat in, especially in the afternoon sun. The one big negative for this hotel is the bar prices that are very expensive. The biggest winners are the pub in the village, which is full of hotel guests in the evening.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out it was outstanding! The atmosphere, the service, the actual place were all perfect, the staff were all friendly and very professional, the room was gorgeous, clean, well stocked, wonderful view, the stay was just perfect.

Lovely hospitality,even when we arrived late on, my daughter loved the hottub, the site is beautiful.

We were welcomed by Steve in the evening, who was very lovely and supported us when we found it troubling to find the property at first. He provided all the information we required and was considerate throughout. The property was exceptional as what it looked like on the pictures. It had all the facilities that was expressed within the website and it felt very homely, even when we were away from home. It was an amazing place to spend my partners and my anniversary, with the jacuzzi and the scene of the sunset. I would go again and recommend to others in the future.

The tranquility with fabulous views from the decking area which was solidly built and safe for our two dogs to be outside but secure. Loved the slimline dishwasher as the husband hates washing up. Well equipped kitchen and fast hob and grill. If you had young children then you can give them the freedom to play safely within sight of your cabin. We loved the noise of them but wasn't overpowering either due to the distance between the play areas. Plenty of areas to walk your dogs so they can empty etc. with bins everywhere to put the poo bags too. So none have to go in your kitchen bin. Everyone seemed to have brought theirs and no barking just the odd bark and none reacting which was great. Bed was very comfy but ours had a foot end which the husband didn't care for as he is tall. Plenty of storage with nice touches of complimentary toiletries and coffee etc. until you have unpacked. I'm registered disabled but was great as level access. I just struggled with the steps going up to the entrance but was solid handrails so just took my time. I would rebook as car could be parked at the bottom of them and took my time. There are cottage type accommodation with outside seating in the old farmhouse courtyard that looked fab too. Bathroom clean and welcoming with a good-sized double shower tray. Owners are hands on with regular patrols and working around the area. Animal area was great and we enjoyed them as much as the children.

What an utterly delightful place Barker Stakes Farm is. From the moment I arrived and was warmly greeted by Sarah, I knew I'd made the right choice. My small one bedroomed cottage (original farm's converted cart shed) was wonderful. Clean, compact, tastefully decorated and really comfortable. Patio doors in the double bedroom and lounge/kitchen area led out to a patio with table and 2 chairs that overlooked a pristine garden area. All I could hear was the singing off birds all the time, really relaxing, and the single track 'no through road' outside the property was really quiet. The wider grounds themselves were lovely. Really spacious with a scattering of timber cabins tastefully located throughout. For toddlers, there are 3 really well maintained play areas and the alpacas, rabbits, etc will be a treat for them as well. Despite its wonderful isolation, Barker Stakes is really well located. Just 1.5 miles (walkable) from Pickering, 3 miles from Flamingo Land, 7 miles from Dalby Forest (Go Ape, Walking Trails, Mountain Bike Trails/hire, Visitor Centre) and a 30 minute drive from Whitby (for walkers, the Cleveland Way clifftop coastal path from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay is a must!). Thanks again to Sarah for the welcome; I shall return with wife and granddaughter in tow at some point in the near future.

Room (upgrade) was very comfortable and spacious, ideal for our 3 night stay. Bar/lounge area was very cosy and inviting. Breakfast options were very good, plentiful and tasty. Cooked breakfast was excellent with very good quality ingredients. Staff throughout our stay were welcoming, friendly and very helpful.

Really nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Room was lovely. Stylish decor in the bar area and restaurant where we had a very nice dinner. Staff seem thin on the ground and were rushing about trying to keep up with things, even though both the bar and restaurant were very both quiet. Dreary background music could be replaced with something a bit less misery inducing. Breakfast was not great.

Amazing hotel Arrived with family on a really hot day, the hotel had the windows open and fans on in our room ready for our arrival ensuring the rooms were as cool as possible. Part of our package was a delicious afternoon tea. Lovely selection of sandwiches, artisan sausage rolls and gorgeous cakes. The bar staff made us amazing cocktails and the chef did us proud with the fantastic food at dinner on the evening including the best fish and chips I have had in years. Friendly attentive staff despite a busy wedding being on during our visit.

We booked this at the last minute (30 mins ahead of arriving) and it was delightful and perfect for our needs - comfortable, warm room (there was an additional, plug in heater in our room, which was perfect) and helpful, friendly staff. We had dinner in the restaurant (which was closing at 8pm - a bit earlier than it says on the website) which was very nice. We really enjoyed our safe and it was brilliant for a late find and very good value :-)

Stayed a Friday and Saturday night, left Sunday late morning. The hotel is a mixture of modern and rustic, but done tastefully. The room was superb with a large bathroom and walk in shower. Terry robes and good quality towels as well as a comfy bed. Tea/coffee etc, the usual, nice fridge which is handy. The food is good and varied if you want such as well as the usual sort of offerings. Breakfast sports some unusual but very tasty offerings, I won't spoil it but I've had breakfasts all over the world and never seen the like of the two I had and thoroughly enjoyed. We didn't lunch there as we were off walking. Dinner was good on both nights, a particular favourite for both of us was an unusual take on a shepherds pie involving slow cooked chunks of lamb shank... Staffwise the manager we met was top notch but I'm damned if I can remember his name... age thing I guess. Two that I do remember were the housekeeper Marie or Maria who was incredibly helpful and young Nathan who seemed to be everywhere at once. All in all, a lovely break in a picturesque village in a picturesque part of the world -and so close to the A1 too.

We only stayed one night but straight upon arrival at check in the staff member was excellent. She was interacting with both my children, was very helpful and cheery and is a credit to the hotel. She explained how breakfast worked which is breakfast on the go so you put in what you would like and then grab it in the morning. This was super convenient for us as we needed an early breakfast around 6:30 before travelling to our next location. We ordered a sausage and a bacon bap which were ok and you could pick a selection of pastries, juices and hot drinks. Our room was clean and fairly sized for a family of 4. The shower and bath clean and the pressure of water was good. Our view was of a fence that on the other side had someone’s house, this did not concern us as not there for long. To sleep however I did find the duvet covers to be quite rough. Other than that the sleep was pleasant. On the whole a good night stay, the staff definitely made the difference in regards to making you feel welcome and the reason for the rating given. The hotel is in a good location and has a lovely pub next door which is where we went for dinner.

Nice clean hotel and rooms. Friendly staff. Ellie and Karen made us both mist welcome. The rooms were clean the bed was comfortable . Condiments in the room, tea coffee etc and Kettle. In All a nice clean hotel. However take your earplugs for a good night's sleep. We were in a first floor room at the front of the hotel facing the Nags Head pub and restaurant....The extractor fan on the roof of the pub turns onat around 11.30am and turns off around 11pm. Very noisy even with the window closed. Also you can hear the extractor fans in the other rooms when they turn the light on to the toilet as other did too. Would be nice if they made it as when you turn the shower on the fan comes on instead. Other than than a nice stay.

Reception welcoming. Room clean and tidy. Linen perfect. Towels soft and white. Breakfast adequate. Adjacent restaurant was excellent with a good choice of food and again welcoming staff. Very convenient for us to get from the hotel to our meeting places via the adjacent M62 motorway. If we visit the area again we would not hesitate stay here again.

The room was clean and spacious. We didn't book the breakfast as it was grab and go so preferred to go elsewhere. There is a lovely pub/restaurant right next door to the hotel but they don't open for breakfast. We did have dinner though, a tapas type pick and mix meal, and the food was delicious. Service was a bit slow as it was busy but we were in no rush so that was fine.

2nd stay here and fabulous as time before made to feel really welcome from the moment you arrive . Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable . Jacuzzi bath in the room fab also . Will be staying again

My room (Cape town) was great the theme was fun. More a couple orientated room as no shower but a great jacuzzi bath. The grounds do have family orientated rooms. Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was ok just simple continental stuff. The grounds themselves really nice, clean and maintained. 7 odd miles from Whitby about 20 mins cab journey but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. I will definitely be staying again. I think it was good value for money.

Had a lovely night in the Marrakesh Suite, could have done with a few little touch ups e.g tiles fixed on the bath. The sauna didnt work but as if was late we didn't look for the owners to ask them about it. They were also not there at checkout to tell. Although this wasn't a big issue as we had the jacuzzi bath. On arrival we could tell the room had been thoroughly cleaned and smelled of cleaning products. Overall a lovely stay!

Receptionist upgraded our room booking to another with Jacuzzi bath as I had been cycling all day. We needed to leave promptly in the morning so receptionist took our breakfast order in the evening for chef to prepare as soon as he arrived. Excellent thoughtful service.

Large Comfortable Bed, with a lovely Clean Bathroom with a good quality Shower and plenty of Hot Water, Hand Soap & Shower Gel Supplied. The Full English Breakfast was superb, one of the best I have had in a UK Hotel. The Staff were very helpful chatty and friendly, they made a pleasant stay into a lovely stay, thank you.

An excellent place! The staff are polite and welcoming, the breakfast is delicious, and there's a wide selection of tasty options for dinner. The modern decor, cosy and warm rooms, and free parking make it even better. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely stay here. Highly recommended!

Great location and brill staff. Every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly and helpful. Although the room was dated and tired looking, the beds were really comfortable and the room was very clean and warm. We slept better here than we have in posh expensive hotels! The breakfast was good and generous too. It was a perfect location for us as it’s located near my family who we were visiting for Christmas. They allow dogs too which was very convenient. We’d definitely go back. Thank you!

For the price the facilities we're great. Outside hot tub, swimming pool, jacuzzi. It was out of season so quiet but the staff were really friendly and the food in the restaurant was good. Rose petals in the bed and prosecco were a really nice touch!

A lovely few days staying in executive cabin number 56 with our dog. Lots of space and very warm. Staff were friendly, particularly in the spa and the breakfast was excellent. Bathroom a little dated and the shower was difficult to regulate. Love the setting and outdoor jacuzzi.

The whole experience was magic. It was very very special and we can’t wait to come back. The staff were amazing and loved feeling outdoors. The outdoor jacuzzi was a completely new experience and I could live like that.

My room was large with seating area (although different rooms in my party were very differently sized, so it was a bit of luck of the draw); the spa was nice given the price (and not a problem to use within the designated free hours) and I loved the outdoor jacuzzi in particular; evening meal in the hotel was delicious; staff were helpful and accommodating.

I loved everything! The space in this jacuzzi was amazing. The way the apartment is done up is just BEAUTIFUL! Not what I was expecting at all. I can’t wait to book my trip to Bradford and stay in this room again
